Only ever visited, back in the day, when the seahorse was a popular pub used for parties etc. We came a while back for a family meal and was extremely amazed at the food, lovely decor and ambience. We have returned for Sunday lunch and it was equally as good. All round it’s nice to have a local place to eat that has quality food at reasonable prices. They also do gluten free. Highly recommended.

Nice pub with lovely separate dining area and newly modernized rooms. My evening meal was better than any I've had at the Commissioner's Quay, where the rooms cost almost twice as much.

Visited the refurbished Seahorse restaurant for the first time tonight, but it definitely won't be the last! We had a lovely meal. The service was friendly and the food very tasty in comfortable surroundings. Food can also be served in the bar, which is dog friendly and looks like an old clubhouse. We will definitely be back soon!

I am absolutely furious and disgusted at the owners attitude in this pub. I was walking my dog this morning past the pub and was confronted by the owner painting the pillars outside, and because the dog urinated on a pillar I was threatened and sworn at. I apologised and was then squared up to by the owner who asked did I want to meet him in the car park for a fight! Talk about an over-reaction! And then had the cheek to later say I was the one that started the dispute after my mother rang up. You should be lucky I have not contacted the police, the owner's behaviour was totally unnacceptable. If you can't speak to the public in a professional capacity then I suggest you stay well clear from the public. It is absolutely disgraceful. I never drink in this pub as it's always been rough as nails but I most certainly won't be ever stepping foot inside that's for sure. It's astonishing that because you're the owner you think you can speak to members of the public like that. Hopefully people stay well clear of this pub, you're at risk of losing the very few customers you have anyway.

Nice staff working here. Really helpful and really friendly. Steak pie was recommended but it was the saltiest pie I've ever, ever had, ugh. Double bed is way too small for 2 people, couldn't sleep. The TV was very poor. Kept losing the picture and the sound... wifi or something ? but it was shockingly unwatchable. Spotlessly clean room. Shame about the very small bed, the small duvet, and the TV you couldn't watch.

I stayed at The Seahorse for 2 nights. The room was spotlessly clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The room although a double was probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in and had I not been alone I would have asked for another room as 2 people couldn't possibly have fit. Not even room for a chair to sit on. Breakfast as in bed and breakfast was nothing short of shocking namely a porridge pot. A cereal bar. A dry croissant an apple a banana and a small orange juice. Being diabetic I couldn't eat most of it. I did eat half of the croissant but was never asked about dietary requirements and the tray wasn't replenished for my second night. Overall a great sleep but that's about it.

What a great restaurant experience at The Seahorse Blyth today. It’s our first visit since it was converted from the pub with a function room. The restaurant’s deco is tastefully done with lovely background music playing. The staff were all first class, so friendly & helpful and nothing was a problem. Although the restaurant is not huge, it isn’t small either and seats about 24 people comfortably. We went for Sunday lunch, and there was a choice of beef, turkey or gammon or a combination of these. We would definitely recommend this venue

We had booked for Sunday lunch before the cup final and we weren’t disappointed. The food was hot, tasty and good sized portions. We both opted for two meats and there was plenty of vegetables, stuffing, roast and mash potatoes with awesome Yorkshire puddings! Extra gravy was also offered. We shall return.

Probably the best pub catering in Blyth. Sunday lunches are well cooked using quality ingredients. They also hire their Lounge/dining rooms for functions and they will do you a fine lunch or dinner and again the ingredients and cooking are top-notch. There are a number of add-ons worthy of mention, such as good quality plates, cutlery and napery (very nice to see cloth tablecloths in a pub setting). Also, a good variety of quality bottled beers adds to the experience - Marstons Pedigree, Old Speckled Hen, Spitfire. I hope that this venue can expand its catering to midweek evenings and can increase its bookings for regular functions. Booking is advised for Sundays, they do get busy, and justifiably so. Improvements? Cloth napkins would be nice.

Definitely the best in Blyth and surrounding areas for a Sunday lunch ☺ Beautiful carvery with lots of choice. I haven't found anywhere that beats or matches this place's excellence. I would definitely recommend to book your table as due to the popularity and being the nicest around, it can get busy!

Excellent value for money beautifully cooked the only drawback is that it is so popular there is always a queue !! It is definitely the best Sunday roast in the North East & we have tried quite a few . Mash to die for vegetables beautifully cooked Yorkshire puddings as good as the ones I make at home & gravy that is so very tasty

We visited as the dinners here have an excellent reputation. I had the regular and my husband opted for the large. There was a selection of beef, gammon, turkey and pork. Plenty choice of well cooked fresh vegetables and nice gravy which you help yourself to. For the price and quality of meat and veg your not going to get a better Sunday dinner for miles around. This place gets busy and that's for a reason. If there's a lot of you going out for Sunday lunch I would book ahead.

The Sunday lunches here are the best i have had anywhere. Served between 11-30am and 3pm. They knock spots off the likes of Weatherspoons. There is a regular size @ £5-95. And a larger portion option, which i cant recall the price of. I believe there is also a childs portion meal. You get a choice of 2 meats on your plate, and a massive yorkshire pudding! There's a large selection of veg to pick from. The meat is beautiful, and the veg is cooked just right. Not too soggy! You get your plate of meat & yorkie from the chef. You then help yourself to the veg. As much or as little as you desire. Gorgeous gravy, and sauces to compliment the meat of choice. I attended a wedding here recently. We were served the Sunday lunch for the wedding breakfast. It was exceptional! Highly recommend this pub for Sunday lunch.

Booked this function room for a child's birthday party,,, Although the room was fine clean etc, it was a total mixup over booking times, cost etc, inexperience bar staff taking booking for the function room and giving out wrong prices, in our case we where told it was a free room. This was not the case we had to pay £50 room hire which had not been budgeted into the cost of the party. The manageress did give us complimentary jugs of juice, as a way of apology for the misunderstanding.

Extremely difficult to review something you never received. Booked a table for 6 people, arrived and totally ignored. After an age of waiting were eventually informed that they had gone home early. The staff of the golf club were miserable and unhelpful and the people inside looked at us like we had just fallen off someone's shoe. The comments made by some members seated outside on our leaving, who informed us that they are useless....says it all really.
