It needs o good clean! Dirty venue- seating, carpet, walls. As for the ladies toilet it was horrid. The muck on top of the radiator, panelling coming off the wall, dodgy toilet seats and locks. I do not recommend, they had a meal menu which looked good but with the overall cleanliness of the place I didn’t want to try it.

Dinner was atrocious. So called vegan /vegetarian curry was basically a tin of tomato soup with some veggies thrown in and a a sprinkling of curry powder with easy cook rice. (And don’t try and tell me otherwise). They have the audacity to say they have restaurant. Never again!!! The room was a shambling mess. They probably call it eclectic. But, mildew and stains in the bathroom is not eclectic in my book. The one saving grace was the lady at breakfast was wonderful, attentive and very welcoming. She needs to move to a proper hotel. This is not a first time opinion. We did stay there before and did not like it. Not sure why we went back but, needs must.

Visited after 4 yrs today and was very impressed with the extended seating etc but there is no point in having numerous tables when there was obviously a shortage of staff. We waited 45 mins for our and beans. Others were returning to the till asking why they were waiting so long too. Perhaps hadcwe just had a scone and coffee it would have been lovely but waiting so long for hot food was very poor service Very disappointed overall.

Stayed at the Manor Hotel over the road for 1 night and decided to pop in here for a couple of drinks. Has the feel of a proper local pub but the regulars and bar staff (Kieran was a great laugh and very welcoming) were all friendly and chatting away with us. It was Karaoke night with everyone getting involved having a right laugh. If you're visiting the area give this place a visit - you'll enjoy yourself!

Incredible! Food and service were absolutely spot on. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Pub also has a dog friendly area so great if you want to dine with your pups! We all had steaks and they were gorgeous - so good that we’ve booked to come again tomorrow for their steak night! Special mention to Alison and Kirsty who looked after us so well, they were very accommodating and friendly!! And the dogs loved them bringing extra treats ☺️ Thank you and see you again tomorrow!

A huge thanks to Trisha and the team for providing me and my family with such a lovely Sunday lunch last week! I contacted Trisha a few days ahead about a vegan option and she pulled out all the stops and made me a vegan apricot nut roast with a tomato coulis and load of veg, which was DIVINE! My family (all meat-eaters) said it was the best Sunday lunch they had had in ages! And the service was warm and friendly too! Really looking forward to sampling your food again! <3 <3

Sent my passport to Durham for renewal 2 weeks ago, no communications from anyone at this office of its arrival even though it was sent via special delivery, I was told that apparently it closed down about 5 days ago due to 'storm damage' but the building doesn't look like there is any storm damage, they don't even know where my application is, they haven't even scanned it on their computers, customer service don't even know if the office is open, Useless, what is the point of customer services if they cannot track applications and they cannot give any updates, or help you to locate your application?

Went for Sunday lunch today and although my wife meal ( lamb rump was good) I had the two of meat of which all meats were dry and the roast potatoes were actually roasted and slightly crunchy in the middle so had to leave them. The child options to change extra for desserts is abit much these days. If charging 20 pounds a Sunday lunch you need to ensure all elements are actually cooked and not serving fake yorkshire puddings!

We stayed here in our Motorhome in the car park for a night and booked a table in the restaurant. The car park was quiet and had a great view. The restaurant was beautiful inside and out and the food was really great and staff were friendly and welcoming.
