Absolutely awful, very uninviting, bench seats ripped and look awful. The food? Well that was horrible we had 1 toasty meal deal, cheese and tomato, some kind of tomato paste, had a rank plastic taste and was cold, wanted the crisp option, they don't do crisps..??? Although that's what is advertised, had to be a cold drink in the deal paid 55p on top of £5 for a coffee, daughter had tuna and cheese panini came out burnt looked and smelt terrible. Granson (4) had a kids pizza meal, would have been great value for a £1, if it wasn't dry and missing beans. We all left it (hate wasting food) from the little we did eat we all suffered with bad stomachs next day. Apparently the cafe is outsourced..... You should bin them off asda they are not good for you. We was hoping it was better than the one in West Bridgeford but it's much worse, at least the food is edible there......

Absolutely atrocious. The pizza was dry and tasteless . The cheese and tomato toastie was bizarre, not toasted on the bottom a tomato looking paste spread in the middle with one slice of tomato, underside top slice not toasted then the topside was toasted with a bit of cheese on top, none in the sandwich at all. Bizarre and inedible. Never will I set foot in there again.

4th December 2019, due to family issues breakfast was missed, so whilst we were shopping in Asda we decided to use their Cafe and have breakfast. Some times in life you make a decision and regret your choice, this was one of those moments. Food had obviously been kept warm for a long long time as the fried eggs had hard yolks, fried bread was greasy and a solid lump, the bacon was like leather and sausages were case hardened. On the positive, beans and mushrooms were lovely My advice....eat elsewhere

I visited Asda Boldon last Tuesday with my daughter in law. And suggested we go for a bite to eat. Unfortunately I I had to select around a dozen knives and forks before I could find some clean ones. I would say Asda need to get a new dishwasher or employ some staff to do the job properly.

We visited Asda this weekend and while there decided to try a breakfast in the Cafe. What a mistakea to makea. Having chosen our breakfast which we couldn't see, we were asked if we wanted toast. Not for another 70p thanks. 2 coffees plus 1x6 item and 1x9 item breakfast = £12 + The egg was perfect but that's where it stopped. All the food baring the egg was cold even the lattes were only just warm. Very dissatisfied we looked around and there was another table occupied with a lady and 2 children. 10.30 on a Saturday morning and Empty. Should have Known just looking around. Sad really for a huge company and looking at other reviews its been terrible for quite a while. Stay away.

Having been out most of the day in various locations we came to Asda Peterlee to do our weekly shop. We were hungry decided to get some food at the upstairs cafe. For quickness we both ordered the all day breakfast. When brought to the table it didn't look very nice or fresh. After the first couple of bites I was right it was not fresh it seemed everything had been on a hot plate and then dished up. I had asked for a poached egg which somehow looked the same as my wifes fried egg. When the server was asked the reply was it's the way we do them now. It was terrible and most of it was left. Needless to say there wont be another visit if I could give a no star I would as it was worse than terrible.

Popped into Asda today for a toilet break and whilst we were there, something to eat. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a while and every toilet out of toilet roll, tried looking for a member of staff but only staff available were in the tobacco kiosk....who were busy. Went to the cafe, and could see food all over the floor pretty much everywhere in the cafe, the lady behind the counter was very helpful and polite when ordering our food and even gave us large cups for soft drinks even though we paid for small, the food was ok, was great value for money, you get what you pay for....which was fine, overall satisfied with our visit but they need to up the game on the cleanliness.

Asda is my local shopping mall. And on this off chance we popped upstairs for a bite to eat. I really wish I saved my money. I had fishcake chips and beans. Which was horrendously overpriced, even seeing him with smart price chips being tipped into the fryer. My food was brought over to the table, which was nice even though he span the plate to me and trotted off. The chips were hot and fresh obviously, I'd seen him cook them there and then, but my beans were like stones. And the fish cakes could have put out a window. I took it back to say that was inedible. He just shrugged and said, ''aya wanting it or shall a bin it then'' wow ok. What about a refund? No? Nothing. So I went home and posted a picture to asdas facebook page. An hour later asda had removed my entire post. How careless. I will never step foot in your crappy overpriced restaurant again. And yours staffs attitude stunk more than the fryer

I rarely criticise cafe,s or restaurants unless it really is poor in quality or over priced. Sadly Asda cafe operated by the Compass catering group is both. The food is pre prepared, giving rise to the expression "fast food". Unfortunately this was anything but fast. With only 2 customers in the queue,I expected service to be fairly brisk. The choice of "early bird breakfast" included 1 each of fried egg, hash brown, tinned tomatoes, baked beans and CUMBERLAND sausage. I emphasise Cumberland sausage, which under normal circumstances is a flavoursome lightly spiced sausage. This was anything but a cumberland sausage, being bland moderately warm and cooked almost to extinction. I appreciate in these days of watching the pennies and getting value for money is important to us all but alas, Asda[and compass] in their quest for profit over quality and taste seem to miss the whole point of catering. A few more pennies spent on good quality ingredients would result in a far superior end result and a much happier clientelle.

We visited for a quick lunch but really wish we hadn't. The cafe was busy granted but there was uncleaned tables, rubbish and food strewn floors all. The tables and chairs were all over the place too but we found a table and I went up and joined the long queue. The pile of trays didn't even invite you to put plates etc on them. They were dirty, marked and wet. I picked a cake for each of us, Carrot Cake and a Fruit cake. Then came, eventually to the hot food bar. I ordered a bowl of chips and an Indian curry for my partner. The lady serving proceeded in throwing a scoop of chips into the bowl. She then served the Indian meal with a scoop of rice and a couple of scoops of curry. The curry (she must have been told to do a scoop with chicken in and a scoop of sauce because you would be lucky if you got 3 pieces on chicken in it). It was the smalled portion I have ever seen. Then came the drinks. I ordered 2 soft drinks and had 2 cups thrown at me. The man serving at the till was having a lovely conversation with a fellow staff member and so didn't give me any eye content. He demanded payment and proceeded in sticking his hand out for the money without even turning to see what I was doing let alone anything else. I paid, money was put in the till while still talking and change was duly handed over still with out looking. In fact I had to move my hand to where his was to receive it. A swift glance and carrying on with the conversation. I walked over to where the cutlery and drinks were kept and low and behold no knives and forks were to be had. So I had to go back over to Mr Conversationalist and had to butt into his conversation and received a tutt for my sins. I asked politely for the cutlery where he then shouted loudly to someone in the back to fetch them. I went back over to where the drinks were, filled the cups and still no cutlery. Took the tray to the table and still none. I had to go back and disturb him again and the look I got would have froze the Pheonix. He did some more yelling and eventually someone appeared with soaking and none to clean cutlery. The chips and curry by this time were cold. The chips could have done with being cooked for longer as some were like rubber and the curry was watery and tasteless. Now we come to the cakes which looked fine but when we came to eat them were like they had been sat out for a day. They were dry as sticks and hard in places. I will never go back, it is the worst meal that I have ever had anywhere and that is saying something.

It needs o good clean! Dirty venue- seating, carpet, walls. As for the ladies toilet it was horrid. The muck on top of the radiator, panelling coming off the wall, dodgy toilet seats and locks. I do not recommend, they had a meal menu which looked good but with the overall cleanliness of the place I didn’t want to try it.
