The food was freshly cooked and prepared well,it was also hot which shouldn't have to be said but my experience says different absolutely lovely, however the staff particularly Sabrina ( hope I remembered name correctly ) but also the gentlemen behind the bar for going above and beyond to help a couple of campers who stopped in for breakfast , highly, highly recommend

Ordered the all day breakfast. Unfortunately the eggs were rock hard and all the food on the plate was stone cold. Would not return.

Terrible customer service. Got completely ignored at the bar for 30 minutes or more to the point where I walked out and went elsewhere for a drink. When I raised this with a staff member I was advised that I was standing at the wrong place and that I should have been standing where the card reading machines are. Really? There are no signs up saying you have to be standing at the card reading machines. For a start I was going to pay in cash. What a joke and absolutely appalling customer service

Not the best wetherspoons for breakfast but it does have fantastic ladies toilets! Staff were friendly and place was clean. Just a shame the items I wanted weren't available.

Appalling customer service. I stood at the bar for around 30 minutes only to be ignored by a jumped up little upstart who continued to serve women instead, despite seeing that I had been standing there ages. I raised the issue with another staff member to be told I was standing in the wrong place and I should be standing by the card reading machines. Really? You don't have any signs up saying that you have to stand at certain locations whilst waiting at the bar. After 30 minutes or so of being ignored, I walked out without even purchasing a drink. Shocking customer service by an odious little toad.

Mientras almorzaba y iba al baño vi a Josh (asociado) limpiando baños llenos de caca por todas partes. Qué asqueroso por parte del cliente comportarse así y dejar que Josh limpie esos líos inaceptables. Creo que las cucharas deberían pagarle dinero extra a su personal por lidiar con situaciones como esta... porque los negocios son similares.

We went for breakfast. It was cheap but not so cheerful... the bacon was so well done it shattered everywhere when lightly touched. Everything was thrown on the plate. The two fried eggs were stacked one on top of the other... Never seen that before!!! Needless to say they were overcooked! The little butter packs were liquid, perhaps keep them somewhere cooler? Self service tea and coffee station had no milk. You get what you pay for I guess!

Great bar with great prices and the breakfast is great value for money, would recommend.

Las cucharas más elegantes en las que he estado. Fui a desayunar y comí hasta el último bocado. Mucho asiento. El personal es amable y servicial. Las recargas gratuitas de café son increíbles. Desayuno vegetariano excelente. Me encanta.

They completely forgot my food and didn’t even apologise for not bringing my food even after they charged me for it and a member of staff had terrible attitude towards me . Over charged me for the food staff can’t do basic math table was disgusting and sticky do not recommend coming here absolutely terrible service and uneducated staff appalling customer service

Estábamos tomando unas copas por la tarde, así que, como era temprano, no tuvimos que sufrir porteros y clientes revoltosos como se describe en otras reseñas. En lo que respecta a los pubs Wetherspoons, no soy fan, pero dos cosas ponen a esta rama por encima de la norma. En primer lugar, el servicio era muy bueno y teníamos un barman joven g que en realidad hizo contacto con la cara y proporcionó un buen servicio con una sonrisa (wot - en un Wetherspoons!). En segundo lugar - y esto te dejará boquiabierto - el inodoro estaba abajo junto al bar. ¡No se requiere trekking!

Lively place even considering it was midweek. Plenty of beers on tap and great selection of other beverages.

Visité recientemente para algo de comida después de ir a la pista 7 de bolos. Decidí tomar el filete de solomillo con ensalada mediterránea. No se equivoquen No esperaba comida estrella Michelin pero puedo decir con seguridad que fue el peor filete que he probado. Era gomoso y estaba lleno de carcoma. Casi cada bocado que daba terminaba teniendo que quitármelo de la boca porque no podía masticarlo. A pesar de que era 'barato' para la comida y una bebida, se podía recoger un solomillo decente de uno de los supermercados y una bebida por menos y cocinarlo mejor que el mío era. No uso cucharas de intemperie a menudo y ciertamente no para la comida, pero el bistec es definitivamente uno de evitar.

100 veces mejor que el gran salón eléctrico (cucharas Spennymoor) de la gestión a la atmósfera manos abajo mejor que el de mi ciudad

Absolutely lovely place, the decor was great as was the atmosphere although it does get quite busy and noisy, we were all served at the same time which was great the food was delicious. Ladies be prepared when you go to the toilets though as when you walk in it's like a hall of mirrors, there are also some comfy looking chairs in there so if you get stuck waiting at least you can sit down and freshen your makeup if you need to.

Great location in town centre. Lots of seating arrangements to choose from depending on your size of party. Service was good using the Wetherspoons app. Food was good standard and reasonably priced. Beers were good and much cheaper than other pubs. Highly recommended.

Wetherspoons are excellent value for money and always appreciate their well kept ales at amazing prices. Today I had the Naga chicken curry which was good but super spicy and i say that as husband of a Thai lady! Mega 🔥 hot. The curry i mean!

DO NOT EAT HERE!! Was served gone off food absolutely rank of a place and when I informed the manager about it he was more interested in talking to my underage daughter awful service bar staff couldn’t care and the fact this came out of the kitchen is rank!

Like most other Wetherspoons you get reasonably priced beer and food quickly and easily through their app. This one was no different and had loads of seats.

As always when I come here bad bar service just left standing at the bar while the bar staff with their blinkers on serving there friends first and new people walking up to the bar while your standing there for some time still waiting to get served. Come on wetherspoons give your staff a kick up the ass and work the bar more professionally.

Called in for a drink and bite to eat with the family on a Christmas eve and it was as busy as I was expecting. Been on other occasions and not been able to move as that busy, a favourite of the students.

The bar was pretty decent but really busy. We kind of got a table but no chairs but decided to order on the app as it was 4 or 5 deep at the bar, but that also took ages. Once we had scrounged some bar stools from a few tables, we sat and stayed for a couple of drinks. The atmosphere was really busy but friendly the staff didn't have time to clear the tables as they were rushed off their feet

Won't use again ordered toast butter and jam my husband ordered with marmalade toast arrived cold with just 1 butter for 2 slices of toast asked waiter for another 2 his reply that's the way it comes service was absolutely shocking butter never arrived always in any other spoons have getting 2as 2 slices of toast I was always taught customer is right

quite possibly the worst experience. The bouncers are rude and agressive. No care for the safety of the guests. Abusive to the point of threats of violence over trying to charge a phone to get home safe. They do not deserve custom which is a shame for the bar staff. However guests spend too much money to be treated like animals and there are other pubs in area to use.

It's OK as a walk in snack bar but not a night drinking bar cheapest for drinks..

Gold star to JOSH ! ..... who brought my curry to the table .... smart, pleasant and positive manner as he carefully fits the plate in the small space I'd left at the end of the table .... and I manage to knock the fork to the floor. Josh pounces on the fork, says "I'll get you another" and reminds me I can get mango chutney (which is always a plus for me). The table was CLEAN when I arrived (not always the case at Wetherspoons). The only slight down this visit was that the food was only just above luke warm and I didn't really have time to ask for re-heat.

Best 'Spoons I've visited! Not an old bank with toilets so far away you need to take a snack for the journey - a modern location near the centre of Durham. Food and drink were exactly as you expect for the price. How they can serve a decent coffee for £1.56 with free refills is beyond me. Some arty - farty artisan coffee shops selling nasty brown dirge will charge you £3.50+. Not a gastro-pub but for what you pay, its great.

Wetherspoons at its best. Nice food and service. Nice atmosphere. Had daily brunch and a drink. Enjoyed it. Some parts of furniture and furnishings need attention. Otherwise fine. Would go again

Loving country pub set on the banks of a rushing watermill stream/river , plenty of parking spaces in car park . Lovely carvery, good selection of meats & vegetables.

Wonderful Food, served in a great atmosphere.

Ordered 2 12 inch wraps, when they arrived they were 8 inch at best. When complained staff member said right amount of filling was in wrap. I feel these wraps were miss sold as filling would not have filled 12 inch wrap!! Poor service and miss sold.

Really poor customer service and aggressive and violent security staff. While in the bar with my family enjoying a quiet drink on Saturday evening. I was randomly searched by the security. After going along with the search I was told that I was too aggressive and violently dragged out of the bar and thrown on the floor outside. There is no need for this kind of behaviour and the bar needs to think about who they have in the bar as security. I have been informed that this bar has reputation for incidents like this with security. Unfortunately due to this incident and for my own safety I will not be going back

Ruined evening got dragged out by aggressive bouncer for no apparent reason .family saw and came out after me. father in late 50s rugby tackled to the ground .bouncer who caused this ran back inside .my family outside got no apology and the bouncers outside didn't know what had happened as we didn't. One bouncer shook my father's hand and advised we go to another pub .

Really terrible customer service and very threatening security staff in this bar. I was on a night out with the family and the security staff dedicated to do a random drug search on me. After going along with the search I was told I was being to aggressive and violently dragged out of the bar by my arms and being thrown on the floor outside. If you want a quiet night do not go here. There is no need for this excessive violent behaviour. The bar needs to take a look at themselves and who they hiring as this is unacceptable. Unfortunately I will never be going back

Went with family and very dissapointed. Meal was rubbish. I ordered double cheese burger and chips. Meal came on a dinner plate. Would have fitted on a side plate. Not even a kids meal size Will not come here again. Not value for momey Just going to go some where else to get some more food to fill up so i dont feel hungary

This large venue is well divided into different sections, each offering their unique atmosphere. Value is always excellent, like any Wetherspoon's.

Really lovely staff and great table service

You won't find your typical Wetherspoon neanderthal in this particular establishment. This is the place where everybody knows your name, where the chicken is sticky, not the tables and floors. The staff are firm but fair, they'll bring your food and drinks to the table, but you must collect your own cutlery and condiments, a fair trade off in my opinion. The toilets are fresher than a sunny spring meadow, with an abundance of washing facilities and hand dryers. Highly recommended.

Not a great experience in terms of food, it's not clean as well,the floor is genuinely sticky and the toilets were d Nicely decorated but a tad stinky, There is little point talking about the food,it's your topical " I only came for a beer so what else you've got" type menu, we can to eat breakfast so there were many breakfast options but nothing healthy really,all greasy spoon and not much else, NO Accommodation TO GLUTEN INTOLERANCE and also only Out milk ( that had Gluten) what is the deal with that?? I actually would like to give it a lower grade but generally speaking it's no more than a 3 star with a stretch And by the way, the staff at the bar taking orders, let's put it this way, I'm not sure why they work in customer service.

One of the more upmarket Wetherspoons. A larger one too - handy for Durham Market Place and the Gala Theatre / Cinema. Only a short walk across the road bridge from the main shopping area. A large selection of beers, real/craft ales and spirits. Food cheap & cheerful as ever.

Clean and tidy, great service and a pleasant atmosphere. A little complicated to get to because of the split levels of the area, but it is wheelchair accessible and has proper disabled toilet. One of the better Wetherspoons establishment I've been to

Staff friendly and accommodating. Service prompt; drinks, food and clearing tables. Pub, spacious, clean and tidy including toilets.

Very clean place, good food .Leffe beer 7 % cheaper than in Liverpool.( £5.08 a pint !!) Very nice and huge wall depicting the local area..Outside left for smokers and RIGHT side for non smokers . Large screen TV ...Good if you want footie and high volume . We chose to eat outside when TV on.

This is a nice big, typical Weatherspoon's pub. Cheap and cheerful and unfortunately full of rowdy students full of very cheap alcohol. Service was good considering that people were moving tables and blocking isles, one of the young waitresses spilled a full tray of drinks (that were not even ours) over one of our group, (5 minutes after his wife spilt half a glass of red wine) over him, at least his wive was very apologetic, nothing from management.

When I exited toilet cubicle, there was 4 door supervisors waiting outside, and said they wanted to do a drug search on me. They checked everything on me, found nothing. However they confiscated an autism fidget toy on my keyring as they classed it as an offensive weapon. This pub is not autism/anxiety friendly. I Will NOT be going back there, and highly urge any other autistic people not to use this pub. Absolutely despicable the discrimination.

Brilliant place good food nice staff and at the right price

Random bartender falsely accused us of an offense we would never commit, perhaps because we don't support Trump. It's fine. We'll avoid Wetherspoons in the future.

We stayed in Durham a few days and visited the pub a few times. The beer was fine as it usually is in Wetherspoon's. However the food is terrible, mostly undercooked at breakfast and the same at night cold and undercooked. I think they rush too much to deliver the food that it is never cooked properly. The chips in particular were cold and stale.
