Been here a couple times for cocktails, brilliant price. 2 for 1 and can even go back and get your second cocktail after the first so it doesn't go warm. Very helpful, definitely need to try the food also

Era mi cumpleaños grandads y tuvimos una tarta preparada en el restaurante el personal tenía la tarta dos veces a relight y tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo por la comida y el servicio era terrible. La gente de los alrededores estaban charlando con teléfonos de volumen completo y promedio general pero no me impresionó

Tuvimos una noche fue excelente comida maravillosamente el servicio era excelente, el precio era excelente se lo recomiendo a todos 5 veces he comido aquí cada vez mejor

Visited this restauranton Saturday 8 10 2016. This was recommended by friends' meal was excellent starters were very good. Staff was excellent very helpful Steak was really good nice surroundings'We usually go to martinos in seaham but this one beats it hands down. We will certainly go back.

Food ok, waiters ok, bar staff good. Probably won't be back. Lots of people like it though,just not my cup of tea

Delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. Slightly disappointed that the gastro menu is no longer available I thought this was a great touch. Slightly overpriced compared to other restaurants in town. Wouldnt put me off going back however!

Excellent cocktails, nice place and helpful friendly staff. Toilets aren't great but everything else is excellent.

I found the surroundings were nice food was okay had to return veg as they were not hot and waited a bit for cutlery to eat the meal. Didn't stay around long as children had ipads and phones at full blast which I found quite irritating and spoilt the atmosphere don't think I will be returning for Sunday lunch again

We whent hear just before going to martions for Sunday lunch the pub is realy nice and the beer isn't to bad ether. And the bar staff are very friendly.

I go here often with my family and friends but my word they outdone themselves for my 50th birthday party nothing was to much bother. Food was outstanding service was outstanding. My family and friends were all well impressed. Thank you to the staff 8the tree of York Road you are fabulous x

Excellent food staff were brilliant, Yet again at the tree having a meal with the family starter of mushroom's in garlic and again the tournedos rossinni as always this was beautiful will be returning in the near future .

I was over the moon when this place opened, the pub and dining area is very inviting. The food was really good and my other half raved about the burgers while I raved about the home made chips! Then Martinos opened (it's another restaurant in the same building, sharing the same kitchen I think). After that the Tree menu was off more than it was on. Last twice we are Martinos food in the Tree bar. The two menus were totally different and I am not sure if the Tree has their menu any more. I am gutted about what happened to this place. I think there is a market for both menus in one place. Please bring it back. If I want Itallian I can get nicer for cheaper at Sambucas!! Bring back the Tree please!!!

Didn't expect to find such a nice little restaurant tucked away like this. Great choice and fair prices, glad we stopped before we headed back south.

This place is just beautiful the bistro in the bar end sells amazing burgers and beautiful chips or you can eat in the Martinos Italian end of the building which serves amazing Italian food with excellent service from all the staff and there cocktails are to die for If you haven't tried this place you must it's a fantastic place for family outings and also for a night out with friends and you will be extremely happy with the bill overall it's a 10/10

After visiting this establishment for food on a few occasions I can honestly say they have an extensive and varied menu at reasonable prices. They also have themed menue's for occasions like Valentines and Christmas

This was our 3rd visit to this restaurant have always had gorgeous food and the staff are always very helpful. This time though I hadn't been very well and wasn't able to eat my pizza so asked for it to be boxed up to take home, I ended up forgetting to take it so rang them when I got home to be told it would have been binned once the table was cleared, so that was fair enough, thought no more about it until I got a call off the manager asked me to come down the next day they will make me another pizza free of charge. What great customer service, they didn't have to do this but they did, I will be using this restaurant more often in the future can't recommend them highly enough.

We went with 3 others for dinner and after a warm welcome we were shown to our table. The waiter was helpful and gave us good advice, especially about the shared starter, 2 would have been too much! My husband said the steak was very good the rest of us had various pastas and they were all delicious. Prices are reasonable, the house wine was good and it's great having a good place to eat in Peterlee.

Highly reccomend here. Food well worth the money. Always quick. The cocktails are to die for expecially the cherry drop will Defo go again

let try martinos in peterlee and ask for chef gerry you never disappoint evrythyng cook fresh and the best italian and local ingriedient

I booked a table for 5pm for 5 people and after arriving we were greeted by a waiter who seemed to have no idea of our booking and told us to sit anywhere which then meant we had to move tables around to accommodate our party. We then waited over 40 minutes to place our food order and I had to get up and prompt the staff to do so. The food came over an hour later and was of an ok standard. I will never return after the horrendous service we received and the food certainly didn't compensate for this.

Was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews but have been to seaham restaurant loads and never had a bad meal. Food was great, service was good and only down side was a bit dark inside but we had a window table.

Popped in for a couple of cocktails and decided to eat as they were doing meals in the bar as well as the restaurant. Ordered 2 burgers and although they took a while to arrive, we were in no rush and they were well worth the wait. Nicely cooked with quality ingredients. Will be back.

Arrived for Sunday lunch about 12.30 & got a menu & was asked if we would like something to drink? Drinks arrived promptly but then waited a further 15mins. before somebody came to take our order. The meal was adequate if only warm not hot, & compared to other venues in the area I thought was slightly overpriced.

we cam here as a table of 12 and we all had a great time, it was during the day and the staff took care of the children well by giving them papper and drawing pens. food was nice, had a lovely rissotto and was given chilli oil at request. all others though the food was nice also. would definately go baxk

Went to this restaurant for tea. Promptly seated (tiny table) so restricted choices of accompaniments, table only big enough to take 2 plates and 2 glasses, useless. Ordered mussels for starter, chicken and tomato pasta for main, mussels gritty and horrible, chicken pasta cold. Husband ordered well done steak, needed to be sent back twice to be actually cooked.I was ill for 3 days, diagnosis from doctor, food poisoning. Never again.

Such a shame that the service was so slow, the cocktails were fab and tasted amazing but the terrible service let the cocktails down, waited 25 minutes for drinks and we only ordered 4 cocktails! ! First and last time I would ever go there

Having to prompt a waiter to take our order after being seated for half an hour is not acceptable. To then wait a further 10 minutes was even more maddening. I have to say the food is beautiful, and the chef was behind the bar at one point and found his character would suit front of house better than some of the waiting staff.A week later I decided we would give the bar a go because the cocktails looked amazing when I seen other diners ordering them, I was driving so couldn't sample one on my first visit. If I thought the wait to order in Martino's had been long, I was clearly not prepared for the time it took to get the cocktails; between the group we ordered 6 cocktails and two lagers. The lager was flat and had to be changed twice. We received two mojitos 10 minutes after ordering them; at a further wait of 5 minutes I enquired how long it would be I was told "will be over in 5 minutes" those 5 minutes passed and nothing had materialised, my husband asked at the bar after this time to be told "oh yeah she has just decided to make them" 20 minutes after ordering and paying we were deemed suitable clientele to have our drinks made for us which meant another 10 minute wait.What bothered me above all of this is no apology was forthcoming, I was in no means rude, I pointed out 30 mins is a long time to wait for what we had ordered to be told "yeah all of our staff are next door serving a function and we ran out of shaved ice" okay then a sorry would have done. My husband went to order our second round so that we did not have the same wait without a drink, the girl behind the bar sighed and shouted to someone "we have another big cocktail order" we ordered 4 cocktails?! The dramatic flourish of a notepad was unnecessary and to be made to feel that we are inconveniencing someone with our custom is outrageous.The bar was not busy and there were sufficient staff on to handle the bar at approx half capacity, if only more than one of them could make cocktails.

Did not enjoy our night out at the Tree, only about average at best, slightly better than the other recently opened "Sambucas" but i think they share the same staff. Food not that good no atmosphere but the beer was ok, and not a patch on Martinos at Seaham which we allways enjoy and i think are owned by the same group.

Called into Martinos for a great meal then went into the Tree to meet friends,we said our hello,s and went to the bar,one bar staff serving 4 people at the slowest rate i,ve ever seen,after waiting 10 mins in which she looked at me twice she finished serving and i was gasping did i get served err no she totally ignored me and began to serve another party of four who had just walked in,a chap at the bar made it known i was still waiting so she asked someone else to help who walked in looked about then walked back out,after another 7-8 minutes(now approx 18 mins) im served well hallelujah i ordered a beer and a Guinness(in a can,no draft) then Dick Turpin took approx £7.80 off me with a CAN costing £4.bloody 20,We only stopped for one as i didn't fancy the wait again, wouldn't mind but the pub is very nice,the staff slow and need training and the prices are to high.I live local and will use Martino,s again but maybe not the Tree

Eat here regularly for Italian food and Sunday lunch cannot fault it food is excellent along with service. This place is turning out to be one if not the best places to go for food in the area along with the cocktails served from the bar, it is really a massive turnaround to what the place was before keep up the good work..

Been to the tree of York Road a few times now for the tapas the Italian meal and now today for Sunday lunch. It was beautiful once again. Italian food is very authentic served by Italian waiter which makes it even more authentic. The food was fabulous. Tapas again was fabulous in the lounge area it's a bit more casual. Sunday lunch OMG beautiful. The gravy is to die for. Thank goodness this long awaited restaurant has come to peterlee. Keep up the good work and thanks x

Another trip to Martinos Peterlee and we were not disappointed. Very relaxed and classy surroundings with brilliant service. The waiting staff were very efficient and attentive. A big shout out to Kelly who, as always, was the consummate professional and a credit to the Martinos Team. Will definitely be going back...soon!!

I have eaten in martinos quite a few times since it opened and found it excellent however after singing it's praises to my friends, we were there last night , booked a table for 8pm for 6 people. We arrived promptly at 8pm but were kept waiting for 5miutes while they sorted a table for us, we ordered starters and mains but the starters didn't arrive till after 9pm and the mains much much later although the food was of good quality. Come on MARTINOS we were the only people in the room not on the early bird special and the food should have arrived promptly!! I would think twice again before booking a table of more than 4 people.

Service was very good but food was nothing outstanding. Much preferred the food and menu when food was served in the bar rather than Martino's. I've had so many better Italian meals.

Went for a meeting today and decided to try some of the food on offer from martinos which is part of this venue. Omg the food was amazing and the staff where so nice. Its lovely to try something different. From the food to the deco this place should be welcomed open arms in peterlee. Very stylish

I have visited here a few times now for different reasons.I have had Sunday lunch with the inlaws when it first opened last yr and it was a lovely meal however the meals did take a long time to arrive and the children's meals arrived 5mins after ours. Mother in laws meal was wrong when brought out and our final bill was also wrong with extra drinks added on! This was sorted out quickly and an apology given. It was a very new business and fairly busy on the day.I have called in with friends on a morning for coffee and the atmosphere and price for a coffee/hot chocolate and service were excellent and I would go back for coffee mornings.My husband and I have also called in to try the lunch menu.I was not disappointed with the food it just took a really long time to arrive. Our order was taken from friendly staff. The starters were cleared immediately and then we waited for over an hour for our mains! (For pasta and pizza!)A member of staff kept apologising and saying it wouldn't be much longer and asking if we would like more drinks. Im not sure if we will be returning to eat here however I will call back for coffees and drinks on an evening with friends as the pubs atmosphete is good and the staff friendly.

We have been to this restaurant numerous times now, day, afternoon and night as we live local and its just what the area needs! Always lovely food, drinks, cocktails and the staff are great. However every time we go no matter if its full or empty we wait for ever for our food to arrive. I gave it the benefit of the doubt when it first opened but not now. Come on guys you need to be quicker. However the food is always worth the wait.

Our starters were really nice, we had the one for two people to share, at £6 it was well worth the money. My main course of prawn pasta tasted horrible, the pasta tasted cheap and rubbery (overcooked), it only had 3 large prawns in, and a few tiny tiny small prawns. My hubby had lasagne, he said he has tasted better from a frozen microwaveable lasagna. Needless to say we didn't order a sweet. The drinks are really overpriced £4.50 for a glass of wine. We wont be returning, and definitely would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We have been regulars here since it opened and the first twice we went it was amazing then the next 3/4 times we went it had gone down hill so we decided to give it 1 last go and it was back upThere!! The burgers were beautiful and so was the belly pork so pleased they have resolved the problem as it's a lovely place to go local for me nd my family!! We will be going again at the weekend

I always eat here. The food is beautiful. And lovely atmosphere. Me my partner & son enjoy the food. As for the function room we had my sons 3rd birthday party. Service was great & prices. Good all around!!

From start to finish my time at the tree of York Road was brilliant. The service was excellent and the people were lovely.the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Can't wait to be returning

This place was recommended by a colleague - we arranged to go on a Monday lunchtime with some friends for Christmas lunch. Prior to our visit we all selected from the Christmas menu and advised of our selections (to ensure a speedy service) - Wrong!!!!On arrival we were advised they hadn't realised we had pre-ordered and therefore had to wait for over an hour for the starters to arrive. Food OK but service appalling, I certainly wouldn't recommend to anyone and definetely won't be back.

Thought I would try it for lunch.When got there only 3 other couples in so thought service would be good.waited 15 mins for them to take order further 40 mins for food to arrive There was not a lot of choice and no choice of vegetables only chips or potatoes. The food was ordinarily nothing special. When finished asked for bill it can after waiting 15 mins. Will not be going back.

20 people out for a birthday all meals were pre ordered mid week yet they still managed to take 2 hours to dish all the meals out!! We had children waiting the longest for food by the time it arrived everyone was ready for home ..... To top it off after asking for the cake numerous times 'they forgot' left hand doesnt know what the right is doing!! Terrible terrible avoid tve tree of York!!

Once again arrived at another pub/restaurant to be told we don't have any ale, we're expecting it tomorrow. I asked if they would run out of lager and didn't get a response. The Ale they were expecting was Double Maxim and Swedish blonde, brewed 8 miles away. this isn't good enough so we left
