¡Gracias Hannah!

The place itself seems nice enough - a good aesthetic that screams rock n'roll. However, the online presence really lets the place down. "Book a Table" says the website. I booked a table. Only to receive an email saying I didn't need to. When we arrived, two tables were marked "Reserved". Based on information found on the various online sources we could find, my other half (looking to celebrate her birthday), chose SF having seen "a selection of grilled cheese sandwiches", and offers on a "range of cocktails". The evening got off to a poor start when we got to the bar, and the only two non-lager/cider options on the draught drinks were both out of stock. Undeterred, we asked for one of the "range of cocktails", only to be told they were not doing cocktails. Undeterred, we finally found (barely) suitable beverages and found a table. We waited for the menu, and were disappointed to find it was much smaller than the online presence had led us to believe. Calling over one of the staff, we were told "We don't do those anymore". When we pointed out that this really should be updated online, we got "Yeah, its all changing". At which point we left to go home. Where we could enjoy drinks we wanted, and the full array of delights available from local takeaways. One word of advice - if you promise burger and chips, and deliver burger and chips, I'm happy. But if I visit on the basis of online information, and you don't have what you've marketed, I'm going to be elsewhere.

My wife and I are staying in Berwick for the weekend and went for a walk around the town and found this cracking little cafe. Lovely and clean inside, we had sausage and bacon rolls which were excellent with a really nice latte. We were very tempted b6 the fine array of cakes on display but resisted as we were off walking. Have to say the also had the cleanest loos I have ever seen in a cafe. Lovely service and very quick too.

Very overpriced for what it is. Stopped off here today for a quick bite and a coffee. Ordered a Cheese & Onion toastie at £8.25 and a coffee at £3.25. The toastie was a very light in the filling department given the price and it came with a tiny ramekin of crisps and a dollop of coleslaw. No cutlery was given or offered. The coffee was plain filtered from one of those glass jugs where it sits and stews for ages. The staff are pleasant which is why I’m not giving this one star. The rest of their food might be brilliant which I would hope given the high number of excellent scores on here but for what I received and was charged £11.50 for the privilege it was vastly overcharged. Won’t be stopping here again which is a shame as it’s in a decent spot for stopping off between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

I ordered the beef chilli nachos for around £5 - it was served in a little box which was filled with nachos smothered in lovely salsa, chilli and guacamole. It was lovely, too much for me to finish off...so i took the rest home for later. and the moretti is only £3.50 so what's not to like

This is our second visit for eats here in the last few weeks. The first time we were impresses, this time we were more impressed. The food is absolutely delicious and portions huge. You do not have to wait long for your food to arrive. The surroundings are pleasant and spotless and the staff are fantastic. TBH it's in our opinion the best place in Aycliffe to eat out. We would recommend to anyone and we will certainly be back. Fish and chips are awesome as is the parmo.

I popped in here after a rather chilly coastal walk for a coffee and a scone. As I had my large furry companion with me I chose here over other spots as it openly advertised being dog friendly and looked bright and inviting. The staff were very welcoming, polite and friendly to both my dog and myself with the dog being fussed over by staff (and several customers). After ordering at the counter my refreshments were served to my table with the dog also beneftting from table service in the form of a fresh clean bowl of water and some gravy bones. The coffee and scone were excellent and I couldn't resist an additional slice of cake - delicious. I can highly recommend Coquest Tea Rooms - canine companion or not.
