Alliance Cafe in Darlington

Took a while to get the food, and they forgot the drinks, but when it arrived it was worth waiting for. Nice place and internal has improved since new owners.

After been for a breakfast and lunch at the cafe. We asked if they could do the food for a party, which we had last night. The food and service, which was put on for the party was first class. The family run cafe go that extra mile. They make you feel like they are part of the family. As for us they deserve more than the recommended 5 star review🤩 Totally recommend to anyone. Jean & Paul

Amazing! I’ve been to this cafe before a few months back… it was okay, not great, but okay…. Bit greasy lol, if you know, you know… But it’s in a convenient enough place that I went back this morning between jobs… Wow. It’s under new ownership. A lovely little Philippine lady has bought it. But the place is IMMACULATE, she showed me the kitchen etc bless her! she was so proud of herself. Honestly, She’s done an amazing job, it was immaculate, The food was amazing. Absolutely delicious, 1000% improvement on the last visit… to the point where I’d actually recommend the place. Well done

First time I've been here and it was lovely .Only had a bacon bun but there was butter on the bun (great ) and 2 or three rashers of bacon. Well cooked , service with a smile and quick too . Will definitely be back to sample the meals .

We came here for breakfast a few days ago for the first time in many years. Unbeknown to us it had just changed ownership in the last couple of weeks. As soon as we walked in we were impressed with how clean everything was. The lady behind the counter could not have been more welcoming and we ordered our breakfasts without any misgivings. We picked up our cutlery etc (which was sparkling) and found a seat. The whole place is absolutely immaculate now. Please disregard old reviews, you will not be disappointed. The menu is varied (see photo) and prices are the best we have seen for years. The cafe has been totally renovated and we would not hesitate to eat here again. We are planning a return visit soon. Highly recommend the bacon sandwiches! Please pop in and support these lovely people if you are in the area. They are definitely open but having difficulty with previous owners for access to Google/website etc to update hours.

Thought I would pop into the alliance cafe as it’s been taken over by new ownership. The cafe is spotless and staff are spot on very friendly! I had the chicken parmo and mango milkshake, which tasted unreal! Will definitely be returning to try the rest of the food. 5 stars for me!

This newly opened cafe serves so delicious food and the quantity of food offered by this cafe is generally more than expected. Proper sitting arrangement and kindness of staff is very appreciate

The actual “big breakfast” is rather good especially the black pudding, unfortunately because eating in wasn’t an option on the Saturday we had to take the breakfast away in a polystyrene food container and there was so much oil and grease that we had to tear the lid off the containers and transfer the food to the lids.

First time in years we’ve tried here and not one bit disappointed, proper food, big portions, and best of all PROPER CHIPS 😁 easy to order, collected in half an hour!

Tasteless, also the customer Toilet was filthy!

Never had it but look quite nice.

They have very generous portions. It is value for money and tastes lovely.

The best breakfast in Darlington, haven't been there since I was a kid, used to be for the industrial.area workers, totally changed inside, its very clean not cluttered, well laid out, the large breakfast was perfect, coffee was great. Staff were great very chatty, if the owners could put that quality of food in the town centre ££££, most places you go in the town things like black pudding is extra, well it shouldn't be if order a greasy spoon breakfast (it was greasy by the way) I expect it all, price was great as well.

This place really offers first class food. Have eaten before and had the hearty breakfast with was grease free. This time had panini and home made chips. The quality and amount of food was impressively and better than most local restaurants and pubs not to mention cheaper - brilliant

Stumbled across this place whilst completing a few errands. As I was hungry and keen for a good cooked breakfast after a long wait due to the unlawful lockdowns / draconian restrictions. Well the staff were lovely, the breakfast was top notch and latte was also excellent. Also in 2021, the year of encroaching communism this is my kinda place (if you know what I mean) Cheers. I'll be back for certain.

Good quality homemade food, made to order and a quality price. The hotshot parmo and the breakfast omelette are lovely.

Lovely atmosphere and French culture, but the coffees are quite watery in my opinion - maybe I came on a bad day though.

Would of been 5 if tables had been cleared quicker food spot on just a little thing unfortunately I was an nvq assessor incatering so a bit critical lol there's alway one I'll be back

Always go to this cafe for a sarnie whilst my car is in the car wash place, ordered a sausage and onion sarnie, bloody great, got a cup of tea whole lot came to £4.10 but remember it's a huge sarnie. Get ya sel there folks.

This is one of the best cafe’s in Darlington to eat your well deserved breckie or lunch or to just to pop in for a cuppa. John and Catherine along with all there staff provide a very good service to all local areas within Darlington, yes it may be regarded as a workman’s cafe so don’t be afendded if you hear at times the banter that comes along with it. I’m sure if you call in and try the quality of food and service you will definitely go back for more. You can’t always please everyone 👍

Having read the reviews I was expecting this place to be amazing, unfortunately it didn't " do it " for me! When you take a closer look I think a thorough clean is needed, having said that the type of people that this place attracts is workmen from the buildings close by. The breakfast was ok , full English was 3 sausages, was either 2 or 3 pieces bacon, mushrooms, 2 fried eggs, 2 black pudding a slice of toast and half a plate of beans! was £5.50 for the breakfast wasn't bad, a nice mug of tea which was good. I don't think I will go out of my way to go back here really not my kind of place.

I have just read the awful review from a lady (Andrea G) who wrote the review two weeks ago I was in café at the same time the owner who was not telling his staff off but having a private joke with her !!! also why did the same lady who left the review go back to the café and order a meal & drink ? if it was so awful ??/ we have been eating here for many years the food is fantastic everything made to order the menu is huge the owner is a professional chief and works very hard with his wife as I say please go and try there food its superb

Quality food , large portions , friendly staff

Ordered food & the man, who I assume is the owner, was rude and made us feel like an inconvenience. Then got the food finally and half way through eating it, we and more customers heard screaming, shouting and swearing. I know he was swearing at one of his employees as he degraded them by shouting that they were useless and couldn’t do their job... I will never ever go back to that horrible ‘cafe’.

Cracking breakfast with decent black pudding

Just had belly pork with black pudding mash veg and gravy. I can definitely recommend this because it was lovely.

Las porciones son abundantes y es difícil encontrar ninguna razón para no visitar. Fuimos aquí hace 20 años ad fue un café, ahora sus trabajadores un café para nadie.

You cannot be too harsh when you get a huge breakfast for £5.50 with a mug of tea. Just don't expect everything to carry much taste.

Been here multiple times now and love it! Nice to be out of the centre of town and there's always seats. Food is fab and the fact they do a take away service makes it all the more better!

Decent delivery speed, friendly staff and most importantly; really good quality food. Sausages in particular were very good; plump, well cooked and not at all greasy. I have definitely found my preferred Friday morning butty dealer!

Nuestra oficina comprar bocadillos desde aquí cada viernes y no en otro sitio cualquier momento pronto. El servicio es rápido y la calidad de la comida es de primera. Hay más que se une al ojo aquí. Hemos tenido todo de bollos de bacon a parmos y no nos ha decepcionado. Fantástico!

Called in many times now, and all I can say this place serves the best breakfast by far, excellent value for money and a lovely clean establishment.

Been in nearly every day for my lunch. Excellent meals and good friendly staff. Good helpings and worth every penny.

Enjoyed tea and bacon and egg butty before kick scootering around town. Warm welcome, good food, clean toilets.
