Have at leat 2 meals a week at this club. The varied menu allows for different tastes and I have never had a meal that has been unsatifactory in all the times I have dined here. would highly recommend it. First Class. Colin H

Friday 5pm teatime. Place already had a few groups of customers eating snacks and some drinkers, so nice buzzy vibe, especially as it filled up more before we left. Put our order in as soon as we arrived and we did have a bit of a wait, but nothing horrendous. Anyway it was worth it - our meal of Cajun chicken and prawns with flatbread and chips was gorgeous and generous. We will definitely return.

My wife and I +a next door neighbour came here for Sunday lunch, this is the first time since the restaurant reopened under new owners, we found the restaurant to be very airy and pleasant, Andrew the manager was very friendly and welcoming, and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome, the food was delicious and reasonably priced, we will certainly be making a habit of visiting in the future. 😀👌👍

Where do I start!!!!!! 7 family members together for my husbands birthday. 6 of us ordered Sunday lunch and 1 the vegetarian option which was fine. 6 of us had to send the dinners back as they were cold, the veg and gravy was cold and also sent back. They were taken away and microwaved which when they came back the meat was over cooked and the roast potatoes were soggy as were the Yorkshire puddings. We asked for the chef to come out and explain but the waitress in charge came over to us and said he was too busy to talk to us. She was very rude when we tried to explain the problems and actually said the young waitress who served us was telling lies about the heat tray in the kitchen being broken and that was why the food was cold. The young waitress was very apologetic and we felt quite sorry for her. In the end the waitress in charge walked away from us saying I’m not going to argue with you and if you don’t want to pay you don’t have to. We did pay for the vegetarian meal and it would have been nice if there had been an apology from the person in charge. After our experience think twice before going for Sunday lunch. Disappointed to say the least.

Such a shame but average at best. Food was lukewarm and not very tasty. First time since it has been renovated but i think it may be the last.

We had Mother's day lunch at Woodham and considering how busy the day was it was a faultless experience. Mum enjoyed it so much that she wanted to go back so we went back last Sunday (May 5). Ooh dear what a different experience we encountered. Staff seemed unorganised, total lack of leadership, we waited nearly 10 minutes to get a drink, we were shown to our table and waited nearly 20 minutes before someone came to take our order. The food was passable but not a patch on our previous lunch. We voiced our concerns to whom we believed was the most senior member of staff, but her lack of apology and professionalism was very disappointing to say the least. Our Dad said the whole experience was like an episode of Fawlty Towers and unfortunately we will not be returning. 🥴

We often came here for lunch/ dinner as we live in woodham but our last visit was disappointing. We understand it has been taken over now but the food wasn’t the best . Quite a boring atmosphere. The restaurant manageress can certainly talk but she was more interested in flirting with our husbands than offering a good restaurant Sevice . Our friends had travelled up a long way and were looking forward to lovely meal but instead we felt embarrassed by her persistent chatting to our husbands while we were trying to eat . Would not be recommending or going back .

We came for a meal here, not our choice as it was a family function. Luckily we didn’t come with high expectations so we weren’t disappointed! The food was average, it was hot and good size portions but just average. We won’t be back. On a plus note, the staff were friendly.

Just had my baby shower here and what a lovely afternoon! Big thank you to manager Michelle and staff for organising and arranging the tables so we could all sit together. Had 20+ guests and not one complaint, everyone enjoyed the food and it all came out at the same time. Staff were very friendly and helpful, offering to bring out extra salad, dips etc. They catered to allergies, gluten free etc also.

Just had the most amazing 3 course meal for Valentine’s Day, food for delicious and fantastic service could not fault it at all, atmosphere was great and lovely touch with Lindor chocolates and red rose for the ladies perfect night 👍🥂😊

Tonight we had a wonderful valentines meal at the golf club. A beautiful 3 course meal at a lantern lit table with a red rose. Lovely service and beautiful well thought out food from the special menu. The baked camambert with toast was delicious. The salmon in garlic& honey sauce was so tasty with delicious veg, my husband had the braised beef which was melt on the mouth delicious. Followed by a lemon posset and chocolate truffles. The food was delicious. Compliments to the chefs. I would highly.reccommend a meal here at any time. Thank you for a lovely night to all the staff.. Vicki & Steve.

We went for our Christmas meal food was excellent and Michelle was so supportive would recommend again

We booked a table for 11 in November & handed choices with people's names and requirements. One person only wanted a small portion which I was told no problem. Week before we cancelled a meal. On arrival table set for 11 then asked if we where waiting for one then told no meal cancelled & no list with names on. We worked out meal that needed to be cancelled. Waited at least another 30mins then meals arrived unfortunately not the best. Small meal was huge to be told we don't do that in a small meal why not told when ordered instead of no problem. Another meal was virtually inedible others just passable. Sorry but you need to up your game unfortunately we won't be returning. Thankfully person didn't have to pay. Very poor service. Young waitress was amazing.

Lunch with friends .Couldn’t go to our usual place because of refurbishing so thought we would try our Local Golf Club for lunch . Rang and booked for four at 12-30 on the Friday lunch time .Upon arrival couldn’t find the entrance a golfer told us how to get in . When we went in we tried to go into restaurant but was told couldn’t as it was being refurbed.Asked bar maid who was really nice , told us where our table was , right in the middle of the Bar ,surrounded by golfers . Ordered our food , I had the chicken wrapped in bacon / ham in a cheese sauce and chips , one friend got the liver and bacon , another ordered fish and chips another bbq chicken .The sauce on mine was on the edge of being curdled , the liver hadn’t had the tubers taken out , the fish looked lovely until tried cutting in to it , batter so thick fish was thin and not nice , husbands bbq chicken in his words ok ! Now the chips were something else , I said to waitress , these chips are so over done nearly black , they had obviously been cooked far too long . Answer was well there’s lots of sugar in potatoes this time of the season . Funny the gentleman sitting near by having his lunch was pleased with his , beautiful golden chips . Didn’t change them for us . Not particularly cheap , all we could see was the huge tv screen blasting out sports , fine if that’s what you want but we wanted a nice lunch . Won’t ever be going back , dreadful!

We had been recommended Woodham golf club by several friends for their very good food so we checked the website, all looked very positive so we decided to give it a try. The website states that food is served till 8.30pm..! We arrived just after 7.30pm to be told by the bar staff that the kitchen was closed as the chef had gone home. My partner and I were flabbergasted that we could not have any food after arriving an hour before the website closure time, we stayed for one drink and then went and had a lovely Indian meal just down the road, we obviously will not be returning to Woodham Golf Club any time soon.

Had a valentines meal , food was exceptional. We both had 3 courses everyone of which was so good in quality and price plus a very nice bottle of Merlot all for £50 . Service and table decorations were also excellent. Thank you to Margaret and staff .

I just want to say I had my husband 50th party at the golf club firstly they let us go in and decorate the room on the morning and they couldn't of been more helpful beautiful clean room we had hot pulled pork sandwich snd REAL chips omg everyone at the party are still taking about how delicious this was we definitely recommend this venue and food and staff I just want to say thank you to Margaret you are a star xxxx

steak meal was a tiny piece of stringy meat with about 6 thin chips. disgusting for the price. fish was dripping in fat. mince was really just that with one dumpling and one scoop of mash. i found the manager quite rude. we had 4 extra guests that hadnt ordered when booking and was told they couldnt have anything to eat as they hadnt booked. they did eventually agree for them to order. would never return.

Prices are extortion for what you get and quality is terrible worst I have ever had. I am still waiting for my Gravy that I asked for when my food came. If I waited for them the food would of gone cold.

Fantastic steak lastnight at the golf club, cooked exactly how I asked really enjoyable evening couldn’t fault the food or service.

What a poor show! Inflated prices, small portion of beef stroganoff and my wife had chicken parmo with cold chips. The whole meal was so lacking in any flavour, very bland. We had booked for four but fortunately our friends called off at the last minute. Will not be returning here.

Our fist visit out to eat since the lockdown. Six of our family thoroughly enjoyed the carvery lunch yesterday. We thought the precautions taken were very good although the helpful chap taking drinks orders could possibly have worn a visor/mask as most of the others. We didnt mind in the slightest standing back and having the food put on our plates - the chef didnt stint on the helpings and the standard looked pretty much as good as the large. An impressive and interesting vegetables offer, far nicer than just carrots and cabbage, and the meats were beautiful and tender. We have already booked for a lunchtime visit with friends and have thoughts of future visits. Well done Woodham Golf Club.

Glad to see Sunday lunch was back today! Unfortunately not self serving carvery due to covid precautions but same great food simple tick box order system and they bring to table we had the small and left full. Great service, quality and price.

My wife and I have been twice before and were not disappointed. This time took my sister with us to see what she thought of the restaurant. I think we were the first ones in and very nearly the last ones out. Table service from a very nice menu. Great food and excellent value with good service and pleasant staff. My sister loved it. Nice location as well adjacent to the golf course. Will be going again.

What a fantastic venue and staff. Had a great day from start to finish. Room and food perfect and staff so helpful and eager to please.

First time visit, pre booked as very popular as apparently very busy and it was! Arrived 130pm to a small queue of other bookings but quickly dealt with by the seemingly manager. Lovely setting overlooking the golf course. Modern bright clean open plan bar with split level seating. Due to being so popular unfortunately but of a queue for drinks and to pre pay for the carvery ticket think needs looked at? Maybe pay carvery on way in then get or order drinks via staff or swap queue areas as kind of got bit overlapped. Anyway after sorting out queuing the carvery was hot fresh and very tasty. We had regular which was plenty however struggle to get on small plate though others had it piled high.Location lovely, carvery tasty, value excellent, plenty of free parking just needs queue system sorted but highly recommended and will be back.

Cold food rude staff , tin crab , terrible food for £65 a head , never to return no refund offered when food not eaten asked to leave by rude manager who was also caught calling customer names at bar !!! Disgusting not worth a visit any time never mind Christmas

Just been to the Christmas day meal. absolutely lovely. What a lovely afternoon drinks on arrival and truffles 3 course meal can't fault them it was beautiful .tables all dressed and chairs too lots of little touches . Santa there too giving gifts out to children. Just an all out lovely afternoon Margaret and staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone enjoyed the day. Thank you all for a wonderful day x

I would just like to say the total opposite to the last review. We have just returned from our Christmas lunch at Woodham Golf & Country Club. The food & customer service was excellent. All food was piping hot and the wait between each course was just right. The manager & all staff worked extremely hard and were really friendly. Could not have asked for better , it was so good we have already booked for next year. On speaking to other friends at other tables they also said how much they enjoyed it and have also booked for 2020. Well done and thanks to all staff as it was really busy day for you.

Local pub was closed for the day so we popped in here.Fish Friday ordered 2 fish platters which turned out to be very good portions.Home made chips were yummy together with mushy peas and pot of tea.Staff were very helpful and friendly.Great visit

Very disgusted came for a large party family meal, no vegetarian option for a carvery. They only had a vegetarian lasgne as an option. If you book a carvery you expect to have one and be provided with a vegetarian option e.g. veg sausage or quaron! Would not recommend this place! Service was not good! Very unhappy.

For a friends birthday we popped out for a quick meal. Lots to choose from but I chose the Ham, egg and chips from the lite bite menu. At the bottom of the menu it said that meals come with salad or veg. I chose salad when ordering. When it arrived I asked where the salad was and was told it doesn't come with it. I mentioned what was said on the bottom of the menu and was told that they are trying to get that off the bottom of the menu. Bit too late as I ordered with the expectation.Despite that, the food we had was lovely. I followed with the eton mess and it was deliciously made.

Sunday carvery very nice plenty of choice. Large 3 meats, standard 2meat, lots of veg, sauces, gravy's. It is so tasty and well worth the money. Deserts very nice too.

This was the best breakfast we have ever had. Compliments to the chef and staff. Will definitely be going back again. Nice to see full English breakfast on a Saturday morning is going to be a regular occurrence.

Went with a group of ten for lunch not the best service or food. Think young waitress maybe new definitely needs more training drinks order taken and arrived. Orders for meal how at 12-15 they have one portion of corned beef pie mystery. Meals seen to take a long time when they arrive nicely presented unfortunately I choose wrong fish over cooked and quite greasy. Most of group enjoyed, bill we had to have looked at as was wrong. Not sure would return.

We were a small party of 9 celebrating a friends birthday - yet again another fabulous lunch with all of the trimmings.

Margaret and her team didn't disappoint. Another great charity night and an excellent fish and chip buffet. Good choice of ales. Friendly staff. Great night out

Gorgeous food and great choice on the menu... staff are lovely and children are clearly very welcome! We quite often go in a big group for lunch and never wait very long for food and it never disappoints!

Went for dinner there were two men sat three tables away who constantly used the “f” word I complained to the waiter who apologized but did nothing about it it was dreadful on top of which the food in my opinion is not half as good as it was my husbands so called chicken breast was a sliver of one , we live close by and it’s a shame as we enjoyed walking there , I hope someone takes these comments on board and things get back to what they were .

Awesome carvery, twice we've been in the last year. Good quality foods, staff are good Ahmed is brillant exceptional waitor. Hopefully back again soon. Very good price, better and cheaper than toby carvery.

We took my mum here for lunch today but was hesitant on going to a carvery after many disappointing ones in the past (not here), but my mum goes midweek and always enjoys her lunch, so we took a chance and were delighted we did.

Over looking a beautiful golf course this pub/restaurant is so nice, me and the hubby come here quite a lot. The food is very good, never have any complaints, staff are lovely and welcoming. The hubby plays golf here often & says it's one of the nicest course he's played. I just come here for the food

Pre booked our table as we know how busy it gets. Met with family had a wonderful time, great food and service. We go quite often now as it's the best Sunday Lunch.

Lovely sunday lunch, excellent value for money. Can get quite busy but worth the wait, lovely views over golf course.

Booked for four adults and a child, choice of plate size suits everyone that's why we enjoy it. Queues can be long but quickly moves. Choice of veg and sauces is superb also gravy jugs for extra. Price great value for money. It is a must to book.

If like me you like Carveries you will love here. Absolutely one of the best in the north east. I have visited on several occasions and never been disappointed. Sunday Carvery, rest of the week bar meals ,always good but go for the Carvery.

My wife brought me here for the first time in months and the food is even better if that is possible. We both had the light bites and the portions were massive. We did have to wait for quite a while, but both staff seemed to be new to the place. The fish and the batter on it were amazing.

I phoned to book a table and I asked about the vegetarian options, I was told what it was and it would be available at the carvery. There was a huge queue to go in even though you’ve booked you still have to wait. Eventually was shown to a table and asked if I’d been before and as I hadn’t I was told to order our drinks and get our vouchers from the bar. Again a huge queue at the bar as all the ones In front of us were now getting drinks. Got our drinks and went to the carvery where the queue was even longer. However we were told it’s not normally as bad as this. I asked the chef for the vegetarian option he asked if I’d ordered it, I said I had phoned up and was told no need to order it. I was asked my table number and was told someone would bring it over. I waited and waited for mine to arrive, my partner finished his meal and ordered another drink and still no meal for me. Eventually I asked about it and the waitress said she had seen it on the counter!! I spoke to the manager and was told I should have ordered my meal at the bar. How do I know this if you’re not told. Even more annoyed as I had asked about the vegetarian option on the phone and it was probably stuck on the counter top all this time! Got the usual quick apology and that was it! Disgusted! Will not be going back!

A good Sunday dinner but also been during the week which was equally as good. Shame though that you have to turn up at the beginning of service for Sunday dinner to actually bag yourself some crackling which is rubbish. Every time we’ve been, there has been none left.

We visited Woodham Golf Course for Sunday lunch, the food was lovely. The member of staff brought our baby to the carvery whilst we were getting our food and we had a volunteer who looked after the baby while we are the food.

We booked for Sunday lunch adults and highchair. Nice to be welcomed at the door shown to our table menu, choosing and paying all explained as we had never been before. Carvary very nice lots of choices for adults, toddlers and children. Staff very helpful, pleasant with good customer care. Golf club clean, welcoming, airy and bright. Will be back.

One of our friends is a keen golfer so it seemed the right place to take him and his wife for lunch on their first visit to the area, especially as we live in Woodham too.

Had the best lasagne I've ever tried! Can't wait to try everything else on the new menu after trying everything on the old menu.

I came here for my friends baby shower and the place is lovely! All the staff were very friendly! Food and drinks were great prices and I would definitely recommend and go again !

We were here for a Burns Night Supper. The food was Excellant. Couldn't fault it. Service was extremely good. Bar staff were brilliant. The venue was large enough that we were not sitting on top of each other. All made for an Excellant and ening

A great night at the golf club on New Years Eve. Great party atmosphere and a superb buffet. Staff were helpful and excellent but the live group were musically very good but somehow didn't get the party atmosphere quite right. Turns out that had already been booked by the previous bar franchisees. A great night though with good friends.

Went here late on Sunday afternoon and was very please that the food was still plentiful and fresh. They provide a good range of vegetables and meats.

Meal out with the husband, went upon recommendation so pleased we did. I ordered the Whitby wholetail scampi witheedge Of lemon and tartar sauce served with delicious chips and salad, Amazing and So Tasty. My husband opted for Steak and ale pie, fabulous steak in rich ale and gravy again chips and veg. Lovely meal we will be back

I visited Woodham Golf and Country Club on Saturday 2nd September 2017 with my husband and his cousin. We had phoned earlier and reserved a table which was ready and waiting for us. The waiting staff were all pleasant and friendly, which makes the visit lovely and relaxed. The food we ordered came promptly and was very good indeed. As a starter we ordered potato skins and found that one portion was enough to satisfy 3 diners. For the main course I ordered sweet and sour chicken and rice, my husband ordered steak and ale pie and his cousin ordered chicken and black pudding. All of these meals were very nice indeed and all three plates were returned completely free of food. We have been to Woodham before on several occasions and have always been very satisfied both with the food and the service. The Country Club has a lovely setting with the greens and also a lake and all in all a very pleasant experience. We will definitely be going back.

Nos lo recomendó un amigo para probar Woodham y me alegro. La comida normal era £7. 95 y bien lo suficientemente grande incluso para un gran apetito, con una opción de dos carnes, varias opciones de verduras y salsas. La comida era deliciosa, bien cocinada y las verduras estaba cocinada a la perfección, no como algunos culto empapados. Sin duda lo recomiendo y recomiendo reservar para evitar decepciones.

What a great lunch, the food is fantastic meat melts in your mouth veg all hot and fresh, and tne Yorkshire pudding are fantastic wish mine would come out like them service is friendly our little granddaughter had the children bowl which as everything we had .The atmosphere is happy and friendly ,the cleanliness is spot on you are not sat with table's around you with finished meals ,it is so popular you will have to book a table as thy are always full

My friend took me here on Friday because it gets chaotic on a weekend and I was not disappointed. The food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. The corned beef pie is beautiful

If you're eating anywhere in Newton Aycliffe then you must eat here! The food is very reasonably priced. The portions are huge and the food is excellent. I went for the chicken and black pudding with chips and vegetables. So delicious! The staff were all friendly and welcoming! Lovely atmosphere. A definite must!!

Great Food, Friendly welcome, excellent staff. Visit on an early evening and get some truly well cooked traditional food (try the Liver and Bacon).

We visited last Wednesday night & really enjoyed it. Service was great, the food was very fresh & the homemade chips were amazing. We both relaxed & enjoyed the amazing view. We will be back. Please get Jam Roly Poly in for our next visit!

Stopped for a late lunch after hearing good things about the food. Lite lunch menu is good value but food very average. Ham hock very salty and bread rock hard having been "microwaved too long" (the vague apology from the waiter). My husband enjoyed his scampi but the chips were soggy. Don't think we will be rushing back

Went here last Saturday with family and had a great meal, large portions and great value for money. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

We have always received a warm friendly welcome from the staff, the dining room is comfortable and pleasant , the service could not be better although there were only two members staff working the dining room, they were excellent. A choice of two Menus was available to choose from plus a specials option. Our drinks order was taken and delivered promptly, as were our selected main courses ( liver and mash potatoes, mince and dumplings, cooked ham and two fried eggs and very good chips ) . The food was superb, and all we could ask for, faultlessly prepared, presented, and served be attentive staff in a great setting and was, in our opinion, incredible value for money. This restaurant is on our favourites list.

Serve a lovely Sunday dinner and staff are always lovely and helpful, yorkshire puddings are huge, never had any reason to complain.

Superb Sunday lunch at this restaurant. I normally don't have Yorkshire pudding at carveries as I normally find them dry and "package". Not here ,they are magnificent !The choice of vegetables and meat is excellent and all very nicely cooked. Excellent value for money and we will be visiting again soon.

We moved venues for our weekly Rotary Club meeting to Woodham Golf and Country Club.What a brilliant move!The two course meal we have each Tuesday is of the very highest quality. I am vegetarian and this does not present a problem to the chef. There is always a vegetarian option on the menu choice of four main courses. If I am unable to eat the same as I am intolerant to highly spiced or seasoned food then I simply contact the staff and am asked What would I like to eat.......service indeed!There is a delightful function room which I would recommend for parties or weddings or indeed funeral wakes.Well done to all!!

Just had the best experience of a well run excellent facility in my area, the food was out of this world and plenty of it my guests all commenter how good it was and the staff even dropped the balloons off at my home at it was near the where they lived, fantastic fantastic.

A group of us went for Christmas Fayre at the golf club, the restaurant was very busy with other parties and diners having ordinary meals, the service was excellent and the food amazing and very pleasant surroundings, we didn't have to wait too long for the service to start, and between courses which we found good, only one problem which didn't sour things for us, was the failure of the draught pumps for some soft drinks.Would definitely go back again.

My daughter had her birthday party here. The room was perfect holding up to 120 people with plenty of room to socialise and dance. The food was outstanding and Mandy and her team go out of their way to make the party perfect. Nothing is a bother. Would highly recommend.

Amazing Sunday lunch, good service and great value for money. Would highly recommend this to families, couples. Also has disabled access and toilets close to restaurant setting. The best meal I've had out in a while
