I ordered the beef chilli nachos for around £5 - it was served in a little box which was filled with nachos smothered in lovely salsa, chilli and guacamole. It was lovely, too much for me to finish off...so i took the rest home for later. and the moretti is only £3.50 so what's not to like

About our 4th visit and on this occasion was thoroughly disappointment. The one staff on front of house duty was friendly but very lackadaisical. I ordered the drinks including a bottle of wine which was brought to the table - no wine glasses arrived. I had to go and ask for them. After ordering the meal and waiting 20 mins we were then informed that no home - made chips were available and it would have to be oven chips or nothing. Cannot believe why this was not mentioned before ordering. Won't be back in a hurry.

What can I say ? Been here 3 times recently and thoroughly enjoyed each visit. The "2 for £10" deal on Tues / Thurs is exceptional value and lovely home cooked food (felt just like we'd been to a friend's house for supper) and we were able to take the dog, who was well received in the bar. Sunday Lunch was again excellent value, with lovely Yorkshires, tender meat and a good range of veg. Ate in the restaurant earlier this week - fab! it was Steak Night (great value with bottle of wine) but plumped for the Steak and Ale pie which was delicious. We live in the village and will return (frequently) ha ha !

We have passed the sign the Junction before so on the way back from the cinema we went to find the place . On arriving we were met by a very friendly lady who showed us to the table. They have a very wide choice on the menu as well as a specials board. I went for the belly pork and black pudding starter it was mouth watering ! for mains misses had lasagna and I went for the chicken in a creamy bacon and leek sauce . Both mains were first class . The food and the service here are first class this was our first visit it won't be our last .

All in all a fab night and meal at the Junction and will be recommending to others and returning ourselves. Thank you very much !!!

Visited again since the change in management and must admit this time was rather disappointed, not by the meal but the atmosphere and general presentation. The menus were just bits of paper, no binding or folder. Only two other customers dinning so service was swift. Must admit the menu is not clear and mentions lots about side dishes that to me are very over-priced i.e. £2.50 for a side salad. The waitress was very polite but also nervous and when asked a question was somewhat unsure of how to answer referring to the menu. Also dressed in jeans was not what I expect at a restaurant. Meals ordered and drinks and arrived swiftly. Lovely meal but as mentioned above not the best visit we have experienced.

Decided to try the Junction for their pensioner special every Wednesday's between 12 and 2pm. It was very quiet except for the Motown music in the background, not too loud, just enough to sing along!! Wasn't disappointed with the piping hot turkey roast and plenty of vegetables - very filling. Enjoyed a pot of tea afterwards (2 teabags in pot!). Waitress very pleasant and chatty. Can't fault the place or meal at a reasonably priced £4.95 plus the tea - I'll be back.

This establishment is under new management and the service we experienced was great. I visited with my wife to celebrate a new job and having visited before decided to try it again as we had seen the advertisement of new owners and a changed menu, plus it was local to where live.Pleasant staff and a swift service, was greeted at the door and shown straight to a table for two, menus were presented and then drinks ordered. The restaurant was rather full so the meal took around 30 minutes to be presented but was well worth the wait. Very good portions, piping hot and well presented.Would not hesitate in recommending a visit to this little gem.

My husband and I tried this restaurant for the first time and happened to pick a week they were starting the new menu. It was quiet so we were seated quickly. They went over the menu changes but basically said if we wanted a particular food to just ask and they would fix it. We ended up with Garlic Mushrooms and Prawn Cocktail for starters then Bacon Cheeseburger and Chicken Kiev for mains. The food was hot and tasty. The service from staff was prompt and friendly. With drinks bill came to £31.80 so was a good price for two evening meals.

We were recommended this place for Sunday lunch after being told it has recently been taken over so on a beautiful spring day we headed off to Amble then called for lunch on our way home, drove past 3 times before asking a walker who told us it's just on the left you can't miss it!!!!!!!don't be put off by the outside it looks nothing but inside a lovely bar area and separate restaurant, clean, tidy, bright and airy with a lovely atmosphere and friendly, polite staff.we sat in the bar and had a couple of drinks before we headed on in for food.Sunday lunch was lovely home cooked food, well presented and unlike many places who do Sunday lunch was freshly cooked veg and piping hot, with the nice touch of extra gravy (made me so happy as I never get enough gravy), we both had the small 2 meat selection (you can have a large 3 meat but you will need a huge appetite) my husband had beef and pork whilst I had just the beef both were very well cooked and melt in the mouth delicious.stupidly I should have stopped there but chose sticky toffee pudding which was homemade and Devine with toffee sauce and ice cream.A fantastic meal, great attentive (but not overbearing) service, very reasonable prices in lovely surroundings. The best complement my husband gave was that we would return and he would bring his mother, oh and that the Yorkshire puddings were nearly as good as mine (he would not have survived if he had said better than mine!)Can't wait to return with the mother in law as stated. Well done The Junction.

Me and a friend came to the junction for a catch up before Christmas. We decided that we would just order some starters between us. After placing our order 15minutes later the waitress returned to tell me that had no camembert. That was okay I simply changed to another dish. We then decided to move into the restaurant as opposed to the bar area as it was loud. We then went on to wait an hour for our food to arrive after being told numerous times that it would only be 5minutes. When it eventually arrived we explained that we had been waiting a long time and we had only ordered starters and no mains. The waitress just said that the Christmas dinners where priority! We found this rather rude as the restaurant only had two tables in. I believe that all customers are a priority?

This wasn't our first visit but it certainly will be our last.We had a party of 12 and yes the restaurant was busy but 2 hour wait between courses and when we inquire to be told "this isn't a weatherspoons we serve fresh produce" by a totally obnoxious loud woman is not my idea of a relaxing restaurant. And might i add i have been treated very well in a weatherspoons. We organised the menu for each person weeks in advance so there is no excuse for the numbers.A lot of food was left as we had a table for 7.30 and the mains arrived at 9.45 and people didn't want food when it arrived and wasn't the best quality.Unfortunately the place over a year has lost its charm and the reason we went for our annual family Christmas party.

Had a really good meal, three of us went last night, all had starters and mains, the starters came on a platter half of which was a beautiful salad and coleslaw, Daughter and I shared a strombolini with goats cheese and four chicken wings in Jack Daniels, husband had the King prawns on a platter again with the side salad, all very tasty and plenty on the platter and good on the eye. The mains, daughter had the chicken pie with veg I had the Lamb suet pudding with veg - we selected the cheesy mash which sadly they informed us they didn't have any left however the chef prepared some fresh for us and it was delicious, Husband had the baguette with roast of the day (options were turkey or beef) came on a platter again with the lovely salad and either fries or chips in a basket, I have to say he had the beef and it was so tasty, needless to say we brought home 'doggy bags' but it wasn't your typical polystyrene container it was a lovely looking box.

Menu offered a variety of cuisines at reasonable prices. I ordered the "Hunters Chicken" and it was absolutely lovely....if fact could not eat it all......not a big eater. My partner and i visited this restaurant after looking for good burger places nearby , and what an impulse visit it turned out to be , room is clean and well laid out bright and modern , the food is very reasonably priced for the quality you get , i would go as far to say this is the best overall ' burger ' package i have had for £7.95 and puts many places to shame for overpriced similar meal not done as well . Partner had steak and ale pie , again done well , ordered additional onion rings which were the crunchiest batter I've ever come across , yes this is not fine dining but for good honest pub style menu this place takes some beating , we will definitely be returning many times in the future.

I booked a table last month for the Junction having previously been when it first opened (food was delicious). I have to say that the service and food in the restaurant has went down hill since my last visit. I went prior to nightshift, but gave myself 2 good hours to sit and enjoy my food. I waited an hour and 10 mins alone for my food to arrive and was told the reason was that my meal had been made fresh. As lovely as this was, it made me and my partner question how fresh his meal was. The food was ok, not as tasty as I remember it being a couple years back which is a shame. Lovely looking restaurant though and very clean. Would visit again when I have more time to wait for my food.

Despite having to cater for such a large party the food was first-class, with everyone being served at the same time. Everyone in the party praised the quality of the food and the portion sizes. Safe to say the new menu at The Junction was a hit.The staff led by Andy were oustanding and highly professional, they catered for our every need (and there are some awkward and finiky members in my family), in short they could not do enough to ensure my sister had a wonderful birthday night.Just a note about the new menu, it offers a fantastic choice of quality meals at excellent value for money and the chef is only too happy to tinker with meals to cater for an individual’s needs. There are many quality restaurants within a 10 mile radius and The Junction rivals them all in every department. Thanks for a great night.

Decided to try this restaurant as we had heard good reviews about it, myself & my husband were a little early so we went for a drink in the bar. Staff seemed pleasant enough even though the lady that served us was drinking a large glass of wine behind the bar, we kind of thought she must be the manager or owner however it certainly didn't look professional. The décor in the restaurant was very nice indeed & very clean, waitress was pleasant & the menu looked great! We ordered a starter a main & a bottle of white wine, when the wine came it was warm & had not been chilled so we asked the waitress if she could put another bottle in the fridge for later as we normally order 2 bottles with our meal. We ordered a cold starter which seemed to take a very long time & the restaurant was only half full, the couple sat near us were complaining about there meal, the chef came out to speak to them, as the gentleman started to explain to the chef the chef told him to keep his voice down......we were shocked! Highly unprofessional, you do not speak to your customers like that!! the poor guy was trying to explain that his chips had been cooked in the same oil as fish & tasted disgusting, the chef wasn't having it & denied all....this conversation went on for a while & in the end the chef said "ok I will give you your money back" then out of the blue changed his mind & said "no I won't give you your money back I will give you a voucher"...shocking behaviour & a bad attitude. When we eventually got our main which took forever, our chips also tasted of fish the women behind the bar came over & said "is everything ok" my husband said "your chips taste of fish & they are disgusting" she offered to take it back but we said "it's fine we'll just leave them" as we wanted to get the hell out of there! Before we left the chef came out & sat with a table of four customers in the restaurant & was discussing the other guys complaint, extremely unprofessional behaviour. Our meal came to around £100 we also were given a voucher. The standards were pretty shocking & we certainly will not be going back.

We decided to give the junction a try one random Tuesday night, glad to say it was a good decision. Myself and 2 friends sat down to an amazing 3 course meal on the 10th of February. We were greeted by friendly members of staff who immediately took our coats and showed us to a table. The drinks order was taken and we were left to pursue the menu. The decor is lovely; clean, light, fresh and very welcoming. We each had something different from the menu, after 15 minuets of decision making we had decided on; the soup of the day (tomato), baked Camembert and the Jack chicken wings. All the starters came within ten minutes of ordering, very well presented and they tasted amazing. Next to come were our mains, by this point a few more customers had arrived at the restaurant but without delay our mains arrived. Homemade steak pie, the brisket burger and rump steak with a side of ribs. It's hard to find words to describe our food, it was sooo tasty. Each was well garnished, well presented and looked incredibly appetising. Safe to say our food didn't last long on the plates it was devoured in good time. The saying "saved the best for last" doesn't come close to describing the puddings. The decision on what to get was incredibly hard so 5 puddings it had to be. The tipping point had to be the choice of cheesecake; mint aero or Mars bar, we got both. We also had the sticky toffee and the chocolate fondant, these just finished off an already amazing night. The choices are just incredible, if a big meal isn't you're thing at lunch time they offer a light snack menu. There is something for everyone, even if you're just after a few drinks and a catch up with some friends. The bar area is welcoming and relaxing. Whatever you do, don't miss out. Don't drive by next time pop you'll be amazed!

Congrats to the Chef whom I believe to be called Michael on the night.I had the mixed grill and my partner Rump steak both meals cooked to perfection served hot in a perfectly acceptable time frame, for freshly prepared food.It wont be long before I return Thanks Craig

Went there for a meal for our 20th wedding anniversary. Starters were nice, soup, and potato skins. Child's menu was good and Mains delivered with the adults starters. Chicken goujons for the children was nice. Mains for us were poor. My wife had a risotto which was undercooked and dry. Borderline saved by nice chicken in it, but it wasn't a great risotto. I had tuna steak in a hot tomato and red pepper sauce. Sauce was lovely. Extremely hot with chilli. Tuna could have been anything, because the sauce was all powerful. Desserts were canned toffee pudding with ambrosia custard. Nice enough but hardly home made. Average food, above average prices. Gone down hill a bit it would seem.

Myself and my partner visit the junction restaurent regularly for drinks and food...whether it be an afternoon drink, light lunch/snack or evening meal and the food and service is fantastic. The owner Andy, his wife and team are very good hosts and food/drinks are always served with a smile! They can't do enought to accomodate you. The atmosphere is so lovely, calm, relaxing and fun! I love the layout and the fact that you can have a fancy meal or a more chilled experience of the bar menu and seating area. We always get a lovely, friendy, warm welcome and it continues throughout our visit. Don't take my word for it, go take a look and taste for yourself...

We visited The Junction Restaurant for my mam and stepdads birthdays last night and had a fantastic time. Everything was ready for when we arrived and the service was great. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Made us feel very welcome. The food - amazing! Some of the best food I have had. The slow cooked beef was very tender and tasted gorgeous. Thank you for a fantastic night

My wife and I visited this restaurant last night for a bar meal,it was 12 months to the day since we last ate there. We shared a starter platter of chicken strips in batter and thai style king prawns and we wish we had stopped at that as it was very nice.but I opted for catch of day with chunky chips and peas my wife the salmon fish cakes chunky chips. Maybe I,m wrong but I understood when something was stated on a menu you got that item, not the case the chunky chips turned out to be very dry potato wedges which went well with my wifes fish cakes as they were dry also, the service wasnt the swiftest as the barmaid was that also taking food orders and serving plates of food.I passed my comments on to young girl when i paid the bill, so hopefully it will be taken notice of.

Unfortunately I wasn't too wow-ed by this restaurant (as the ratings would lead me to believe I should be). The food was nice and reasonably priced and the staff were very accommodating. Unfortunately I thought that the restaurant as a whole lacked atmosphere. Good but not great

After being recommended this restaurant and reading the reviews on here, mostly pretty glowing, I fail to see the attraction. The Junction looks quite impressive from the outside but we were a little disappointed on entering; as some have said, it's more like a 'quite nice' cafe. The proprietor was friendly and helpful as were his staff but that failed to offset the sad, wilted salad garnish and the watery prawns that looked as if they'd just been plonked on the plate after defrosting, with a ready made dip. The main meal perked us up somewhat. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection. Apart from the rind, I was able to eat and devour every mouthful which is quite rare for sirloin. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the pea pods made a lovely change to the regular fare dished up everywhere else. The salmon and dill fish cakes didn't disappoint and contained salmon that was flavoursome. The chips and onion rings were lovely. Still debating whether the ambience and poorer elements of the meal have deterred me or whether to give the place another go. PS Having looked at this site further, I realise we sat in the 'bar' end which is a bit more basic compared to the photos depicting a more sylish feel. Think I need to give benefit of the doubt; might try Sunday lunch.

Have been to the Junction many times before travelling from Gateshead each time to enjoy a fantastic meal with family. This time there was the new carvery for Sunday Lunch, superbly cooked meats with the addition of choosing tasty veg and potatoes to accompany, this is a welcome addition and once again a big Thank You to all the staff, very attentive and polite and as always a superb meal. Definately the best food I have had and cannot wait to make the trip back up.

My husband and I visited here today for the carvery. It was lovely, very reasonable and most importantly everything was hot and tasted good, no tepid, overcooked and tasteless vegetables that you often find in other places. Will definitely return for this.

We ate here for lunch on Saturday and were hugely impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. The Thai curry was one of the best I have tasted, lovely consistency with tender chicken and a nice spicy sauce, delicious. The other dishes were equally as good including the beer battered black pudding where the Stilton dressing on the salad was the star of the show. Friendly and efficient service made this a dining experience we would recommend to anyone.

Although I live in Durham I love the countryside in Northumberland and often drive up for days out and always end my day with a trip to the Junction, the staff are always helpful, friendly and professional and the food has always been outstanding, best thing about the junction is the relaxed friendly atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble for the owners Andy and Deb who go out their way to make visitors welcome, keep up great work and hope to see you all soon Kim

I would like t ocomment about the service and quality of our recent visit. We arrived at about 2.15 on Sunday 26th Jan 2014. Really looking forward to a nice sunday lunch. We order a pate starter, a duo of chicken and beef and a small chicken roast. We were servced our drinks all ok. Despite there only being 2 other tables in the dining room. It took almost 45 mins to be served an absolute disaster of a Sunday Lunch. We were served our main courses without even seeing sight of the starter. The chef didn't see this on the order slip apparently! The constant "pinging" of the microwave was not a good sign of things to come!!! The meat was very dry, the vegetables were befret of any flavour or texture and the roast potato (singular!) the size of a large over overcooked chip was a disgrace! So we decided that we were not happy to eat the mess of a plate of food and left. I politley offered to pay for our two drinks that I truely expected to be on the house as we had not had our starter, the microwave food was shocking that had taken several pings of microwave 45 mins to appear, but my money was taken anyway! Almost £9 for 2 drinks. Will not be back. Thought you would be interested in the feedback!

We have eaten at the junction a number of times and would defiantly recommend it! Very reasonably priced and decent portions, to the extent that we only had a main course and couldn't manage a dessert! We had a main course each and a bottle of wine for just over £30. Very friendly staff, can't wait to go again!

This restaurant was recommended to me by my hosts at the Middle Stopton B&B. It was only 1 mile to the restaurant and being a Saturday it was very busy but managed to find me a table. This is a small, local, licensed restaurant and I found the staff to be nice and friendly. There was a really good extensive menu, home made soup and my food was freshly cooked and nice and hot when brought to the table. I went to the restaurant on recommendation and will certainly revisit on my return to Middle Stopton.

I was clicking through restaurants I have used and forgotten to review. I found it unbelievable that someone has rated this place 1 star! I find it unacceptable that trip adviser allows one disgruntled idiot to try and smear someones good name. We used to live in Widdrington and regularly ate at this fine restaurant. Not once have we ever had even the slightest thing to moan about, even to each other in the car on the way home. The food is of an extremely high standard the place is warm and friendly and the staff are polite and attentive.

I had the pleasure of dining in the modern and contemporary Junction restaurant 3 times in one week. I was working in the Northumberland area and after looking on TripAdvisor, decided to try The Junction. I am so glad I did. As soon as I walked in, the owner, Andy greeted me like an old friend and made me feel most welcome. I enjoyed the food and the surroundings so much that night that I returned on the following two nights. I was not disappointed on either. The quality of the food was excellent and I feel, represented very good value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend The Junction and if I am ever in the area again will definitely be visiting again.

It is never nice to give a bad review but I am hoping the owner will take it as a positive. We ate Thursday on a friend's recommendation. We chose steak and ale pie with mash and seasonal veg. We actually got A shop bought steak pie, warmed up mash gravy granual ale tasting gravy and a table spoon of frozen peas. We paid £18 for the pleasure of eating this. wish we had gone over to the chip shop as the quality could not have been worse. How a chef could lower his standards enough to turn out this food is beyond me. We did see, what looked like some nice meals coming from the kitchen but unfortunately our meal was horrible. Another piece of advice is for the owner to come and talk to us not just send the waitress to resolve the problem. We were offered a free sweet but to be honest we just wanted a good quality main.

We were looking to try somewhere new, going by recommendations on trip advisor for the aria we arrived at an empty restaurant. Not a problem, staff were welcoming and helpful as a few of the dishes were off the menu due to being polished off the night before, We enjoyed our 3 different starters and main meal and the apple pie that looked like a raised pork pie with ice cream on the side was melt in the mouth. This restaurant is just a 20min car ride from Morpeth town and it was certainly worth the trip.

Some of the options weren't available, but there was plenty to choose from. The food was all well cooked and very good value. The service was also very good. It has a bar/pub to the left of the building and is situated in a small town opposite an arcade of shops.

Played today, Mon 26th August, Great layout, but sadly the greens are diseased and awful, and the tee boxes are terrible, very expensive bar, and no food being served, even though there was a competition on, and the bar was busy, Sadly one to miss in the future.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.
