We popped in here after a boat trip and it was the perfect end to our holiday in Northumberland. We sat upstairs and it is beautifully decorated with inspiring quotes and references to children's stories. We ordered 2 of the high teas, amongst other things. I enjoyed a coronation chicken sandwich and a wonderfully baked scone, while sipping on my tea and nibbling on salad and crisps. Would definitely return, it was lovely.

A truly warm welcome. I loved this cafe. The milkshakes were gorgeous, and the food was delicious, especially my ham and pease pudding sandwich. The atmosphere was really friendly and the cafe seemed to have a lovely mixture of locals and tourists, which was nice. The staff were outstanding 11 out of 10, warm friendly but not overbearing. I loved how 2 waitresses brought all your food together, so you weren't waiting. Service was really quick despite the cafe being full. And I loved the recommendation by the waitress for the breakfast. We'll definitely be back.

Visited this tea room for lunch and had a good experience. The menu had a varied selection of gluten free options which were marked clearly. I opted for a baked potato and I believe all of the filling were gluten free, this was served with a side salad and crisps. They also had a selection of gluten free cakes which all looked lovely, I chose a gluten free chocolate cake which was nice. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall a good visit and was nice to have a selection of options that meet my dietary needs compared to some other cafes I have visited so thank you.

Booked ahead as we knew that the eat out to help out offer was on and places would be busy. Glad we left the dog at home as not dog friendly inside. Great food and service. Good choice of food and cakes. My only complaint would be the prices... £7.20 for a panini or toastie for example.... Really?!! Couldn’t complain as it was half price in the government offer on this day but far too steep otherwise. Made me wonder if they had recently been increased with the offer in mind.

Went in for breakfast today as my normal haunt was closed. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast and my friend had a bacon sandwich. He asked if they did sausages as well but answer was no. Makes me think that everything must be done in a microwave. Bacon sandwich was just 2 slices of bread with bacon, no garnish. The scrambled eggs were not creamy which is the way I like them. They were dry lumps. Toast, coffee and Diet Pepsi were fine but you can’t really get them wrong. I’ve visited before and it was much better- maybe just an off day ‍♂️

We arrived at 4.15 for a light lunch. The cafe closes at 5, but we were told the grill was off so we couldn't have a bacon sandwich. The waitresses were having a loud personal conversation the whole time and the place was empty so it was quite distracting and basically a bit unprofessional. The food was good but overpriced- £5.25 for a toastie and £2.25 for a cheese scone. There was an obvious lack of interest in serving us or even really acknowledging that we were there- I understand it's nearly Christmas, people want to go home and whatever but we also want a decent service, when we've paid for it! Hopefully a one off- though we would avoid it in future anyway because of the price.

The weather had turned very wet and cold so I was desperate to get inside for a hot drink. It is what I would call a very traditional high street tea rooms; a comfortable, friendly place with an excellent range of eats and drinks at good prices. The staff were local, pleasant and cheerful. They sell an amazing range of coffees and the Americano that I had hit the spot nicely! And for me, it was just the right quantity - a good sized china cupful, not one the monster "regular" buckets that most places sell these days. I usually judge a place by the quality of the scones (too many are dry, too little fruit, tasteless). Mine was perfect, big enough, good texture, moist with loads of fruit. A very happy visit and I am sure we will be back.

Passing through Amble we saw this little place and called in for lunch. The staff were extremely friendly, it was quite busy but we were served very quickly. The food was excellent and the prawn mayo sandwich the best I've tasted for a long time with lovely fresh salad. The ploughmans was excellent value for money and quality ingredients as was the tuna melt panini. Couldn't fault the chocolate and beetroot cake either, it may sound strange but give it a try. They were also very child friendly although there were people of all ages in there. We got chatting to the owner about the town and she was really friendly and informative. Well worth a visit.

The lunches at this tearoom cafe are made fresh for you, so you may have to wait a little while at busy times, but it is worth it. Today we shared the two-person Ploughmans lunch, which was as appealing to the eye as it was to our taste buds. Lovely cheeses, ham, pickles, salad, pork pies and a fresh, soft white bread roll each really hit the spot. Or for £5 we could have chosen a sandwich option, with salad, coleslaw and crisps to go with it. A range of attractive cakes and home baking were on display, and the Victoria Sponge was especially tempting. The cafe also offers a range of small gift items - today they were mainly Christmas themed which, I have to say, I am not ready for early in October. With clean toilet facilities and lots of natural light throughout the cafe, this is a good choice for lunch when you are in this part of the world. It is also only a few blocks away from the seaside walks - either along the breakwater or around the beaches further along - we had come to town to try, so a stroll (whether it be brief or much longer) can be pleasantly combined with a break at the Coquet Tea Rooms.

We stopped here for a light lunch and the selection of sandwiches and snacks is huge. Beautifully garnished and generous portion. Pretty tables and very friendly staff. Homemade cakes looked wonderful so we'll be going back to try those another day!

Good to see a Greggs on the High Street. It was mid-afternoon and we'd been looking for a tea-break cafe. Instead we bought a cake each from Greggs and took it back to our holiday flat to make a cupp
