We popped in here after a boat trip and it was the perfect end to our holiday in Northumberland. We sat upstairs and it is beautifully decorated with inspiring quotes and references to children's stories. We ordered 2 of the high teas, amongst other things. I enjoyed a coronation chicken sandwich and a wonderfully baked scone, while sipping on my tea and nibbling on salad and crisps. Would definitely return, it was lovely.

A truly warm welcome. I loved this cafe. The milkshakes were gorgeous, and the food was delicious, especially my ham and pease pudding sandwich. The atmosphere was really friendly and the cafe seemed to have a lovely mixture of locals and tourists, which was nice. The staff were outstanding 11 out of 10, warm friendly but not overbearing. I loved how 2 waitresses brought all your food together, so you weren't waiting. Service was really quick despite the cafe being full. And I loved the recommendation by the waitress for the breakfast. We'll definitely be back.

We found this cafe while looking for somewhere for a quick lunch whilst exploring Amble. Service was excellent, the staff were friendly, and we ordered a baked potato and a panini. Would definitely return, and highly recommend 😊

Visited this tea room for lunch and had a good experience. The menu had a varied selection of gluten free options which were marked clearly. I opted for a baked potato and I believe all of the filling were gluten free, this was served with a side salad and crisps. They also had a selection of gluten free cakes which all looked lovely, I chose a gluten free chocolate cake which was nice. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Overall a good visit and was nice to have a selection of options that meet my dietary needs compared to some other cafes I have visited so thank you.

Booked ahead as we knew that the eat out to help out offer was on and places would be busy. Glad we left the dog at home as not dog friendly inside. Great food and service. Good choice of food and cakes. My only complaint would be the prices... £7.20 for a panini or toastie for example.... Really?!! Couldn’t complain as it was half price in the government offer on this day but far too steep otherwise. Made me wonder if they had recently been increased with the offer in mind.

Went in for breakfast today as my normal haunt was closed. Ordered scrambled eggs on toast and my friend had a bacon sandwich. He asked if they did sausages as well but answer was no. Makes me think that everything must be done in a microwave. Bacon sandwich was just 2 slices of bread with bacon, no garnish. The scrambled eggs were not creamy which is the way I like them. They were dry lumps. Toast, coffee and Diet Pepsi were fine but you can’t really get them wrong. I’ve visited before and it was much better- maybe just an off day ♂️

Staff are polite and attentive, cafe is a little cramped with tables quite close to each other. Nicely decorated and the cakes we had were tasty and you could tell they were homemade. Very expensive though - 1 coffee, 1 orange juice and 2 cakes was nearly £12. Don't get me wrong I don't mind paying high prices but it has to be justified and this wasn't. I could have had a starter and main course somewhere else for this price.

We arrived at 4.15 for a light lunch. The cafe closes at 5, but we were told the grill was off so we couldn't have a bacon sandwich. The waitresses were having a loud personal conversation the whole time and the place was empty so it was quite distracting and basically a bit unprofessional. The food was good but overpriced- £5.25 for a toastie and £2.25 for a cheese scone. There was an obvious lack of interest in serving us or even really acknowledging that we were there- I understand it's nearly Christmas, people want to go home and whatever but we also want a decent service, when we've paid for it! Hopefully a one off- though we would avoid it in future anyway because of the price.

Amble has changed a lot over the last few years, all for the better, and it now has a lot of tea/coffee places. My wife knew this one but it was a first for me. The weather had turned very wet and cold so I was desperate to get inside for a hot drink. It is what I would call a very traditional high street tea rooms; a comfortable, friendly place with an excellent range of eats and drinks at good prices. The staff were local, pleasant and cheerful. They sell an amazing range of coffees and the Americano that I had hit the spot nicely! And for me, it was just the right quantity - a good sized china cupful, not one the monster "regular" buckets that most places sell these days. I usually judge a place by the quality of the scones (too many are dry, too little fruit, tasteless). Mine was perfect, big enough, good texture, moist with loads of fruit. A very happy visit and I am sure we will be back.

The lunches at this tearoom cafe are made fresh for you, so you may have to wait a little while at busy times, but it is worth it. Today we shared the two-person Ploughmans lunch, which was as appealing to the eye as it was to our taste buds. Lovely cheeses, ham, pickles, salad, pork pies and a fresh, soft white bread roll each really hit the spot. Or for £5 we could have chosen a sandwich option, with salad, coleslaw and crisps to go with it. A range of attractive cakes and home baking were on display, and the Victoria Sponge was especially tempting. The cafe also offers a range of small gift items - today they were mainly Christmas themed which, I have to say, I am not ready for early in October. With clean toilet facilities and lots of natural light throughout the cafe, this is a good choice for lunch when you are in this part of the world. It is also only a few blocks away from the seaside walks - either along the breakwater or around the beaches further along - we had come to town to try, so a stroll (whether it be brief or much longer) can be pleasantly combined with a break at the Coquet Tea Rooms.

Played today, Mon 26th August, Great layout, but sadly the greens are diseased and awful, and the tee boxes are terrible, very expensive bar, and no food being served, even though there was a competition on, and the bar was busy, Sadly one to miss in the future.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.
