The best restaurants serving British food in London

Overpriced for what it is. A burger used to be £8-9 including fries. Now it's well over £15, and £20+ with a can of soda. What a rip off.

Just back from a lunch. Very dissapointed. We waited an hour for food to come. My food was terrible, ham, egg and chips. Ham was fatty, egg over cooked and all cold. I was given more ham when complained but this was tough. The manager did refund my money but it spoilt the occasion. There were a lot of people complaining about the service and quality of the food it’s a shame as the staff were lovely.

Not great , lovely looking place, however a restaurant that doesn't do lunch & dinners. Breakfast only.

Absolutely appalling service, ordered via Uber Eats waited 2 hours and then Toby Carvery cancelled the order. Up to the point of cancellation it kept saying order being prepared.

Great place for a drink, lovely dinner, fab staff…great pub atmosphere and staff are so welcoming. Food was really tasty!

Nice atmosphere, I chose the fish & chips, what a tasty dish! My friends chose the Tanner Classic Burger, delicious too.

Was excellent service all round will be going back Waitress (eden) was really lovely and very polite and helpful. Will recommend friends and family.

Place was very friendly and the food was very good. Just one thought might it be an idea to offer a discount to voters who hold a canal river trust license?

We went here as we likes the look of the extensive menu. The food was actually quite tasty but it's all a bit overpriced, especially the wine. The service was very poor and it did not appear to be that busy. When the food arrived the fries were cold and we had to send them back but at least they came back fairly quickly so we could still enjoy them with our meal. My wife's salad was also missed the olives that were stated on the menu. The staff need better training. The waitress seemed to have no idea how to open a wine bottle and when she poured there was no tasting, male first and a very full glass of rose. I had to tell her to stop as I didn't want my wine sitting in a warm glass when there was a perfectly good ice bucket for it to remain chilled in. All in all a very disappointing meal and we won't be back.

Came here for lunch with aunt and cousin last week and it was fairly decent. I had the hamburger medium rare and it was actually very tasty. Others had fish and chips (large portions), ratatouille and salmon. Really decent place. It is also very handy as it is just along the high road itself.

Quick trip for work. Awesome breakfast and staff member B was very helpful and friendly! Will definitely visit again when needed

Most of the review here tell the same story, all bark no bite. The setting is pleasant, staff are nice enough but the food is bang average & doesn't represent good value in my opinion. There are likely better options locally. I'm told pre-refit it was better? Buttermilk chicken was a redeeming factor but really only took this place from a 2 to a 3 star job.
