The Harrow- Ember Inn in Havering

Just back from a lunch. Very dissapointed. We waited an hour for food to come. My food was terrible, ham, egg and chips. Ham was fatty, egg over cooked and all cold. I was given more ham when complained but this was tough. The manager did refund my money but it spoilt the occasion. There were a lot of people complaining about the service and quality of the food it’s a shame as the staff were lovely.

Came for a family dinner, was lush from start to finish absolutely loved it, it was great dinning experience would definitely return

Grace gave me a great service tonight and the food was lovely. We all had a great time and the atmosphere was buzzing with lots of people here.

Very disappointed in the overall experience.and particularly staff.we asked the staff to wipe down a table next to us ,that had flies all over it.we were there for three hours.with nothing being done.food was ok.nothing special.the pub was empty..this place just gets worse.

I visited this pub with friends for lunch. We had booked and got a table, you order the food at the bar and pay for it then. There were not many staff in there and at one point the queue to order food was very long. The food was, they do have a good deal on lunchtime and evening meals, with one, two or three courses. I had the three course meal, my mushrooms were very oily when I received my starter, I really didn’t enjoy them. I had chicken breast with chips and used for my main, my chicken was very rubbery. I had the orange and chocolate sponge for dessert, you could tell this had been microwaved as the bottom was very hard. I know it’s a good deal for these courses but I do think they need to improve in their quality of food. I had a coffee which was out into a mug not a cup, so just half a mug. When another member of staff see this as I couldn’t find the sugar, she immediately took it and gave me a fresh coffee in a cup. I would go back but hope the food improves.

This is the 1st time I have been here but not sure I would visit again. The Sunday lunch stated 2 courses 13.95 or 3 courses 16.95. We were a party of 6 and all went for the same 2 courses. However we paid just under £40.00 per couple. Based on the offer it should have been maybe £32 per couple if you include soft drinks. Its only £10.00 per couple more but its the principle. The potatoes were clearly frozen from a pack. Nice but not outstanding.

Fantastic night. We had dinner with our friends, the service was very improved. No waiting time, the food served together what is good improve. Defo back.

Big, pleasant pub with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Three vegan options for mains - the burger doesn’t come with chips, never trust pasta in a chain pub which left me with the curry. Smelled good but looked and tasted dismal. Sweet, processed sauce with a few bits of cauliflower and unidentified veg floating in it.

Was very happy with my visit here, the food was delicious and Viktor the new manager has made a big difference to the pub. Highly recommended.

The harrow is the place to go dog friendly Sunday dinners are cracking. Staff are amazing friendly couldn’t do enough for you.

Unreal experience from start to finish, staff were extremely friendly, and efficient and the atmosphere in the pub was perfect atmosphere for a Sunday lunch

The vegetables were cold and the chicken overcooked and choice of sweet not on the menu. It was so bad we had to be refunded. Also the tables were wonky and/or sticky. In the ladies toilets one was out of order and another dirty. In the gents the floor was soaking went and the hand driers out of action with no alternative offered for drying hands. A bad experience all round!

I work with my dad experience is very good and food is beautiful. I enjoy the Harrow, it has a great atmosphere with a lot of great people.
