Went to enjoy a coffee only to be told they were serving coffee in take away paper cups, this is a big let down, don't they have a dishwasher? Does management know they are doing this? It's not good enough.

Just been in here and was charged £7.40 for 2 cappuccinos first point it tasted burnt not strong enough also should serve the customers not customers serve themselves. Greg's is much better and cheaper . I found the person who took the order was rude must have had a off day . To expensive. Before shopping went to Greg's was charged £4.70 2 cappuccinos and 1 doughnut. Speaks for itself. BAD NEWS

Great quality coffee for a decent price, staff are so friendly and helpful and the shop is nice and clean with a great atmosphere. There's always some lovely art on the walls and something interesting on the community calendar. An excellent place to pop in for a nice coffee after your shop or even for a quick bite for lunch!

A lovely couple of coffees with some of the friendly service ever. The two ladies serving were a credit to this branch. Gorgeous coffees and lovely food. Only downside? It’s quite expensive. Your get more volume at some of the bigger branded coffee shops but not as nice or this kind of service.

Visited this morning when the place had just opened. Felt I caught staff off guard - appeared to be dealing with a delivery ahead of customers. All the food on display looks delicious. Nice range of comfy seating. Asked for an americano offered and accepted a filter coffee instead for £2.80. Slightly-too-upbeat music on slightly-too-loud for first thing in the morning. Still may return as it's conveniently located.

The coffee here is good but the place is never clean, I usually have to clear my own table and clean it. The staff are nice but there is not enough of them, that's why the tables are rarely cleared. Recently they have started leaving the food on display so it can be self served in front of the queue, ths puts me off as there is obvious hygiene issues with this! It is expensive too and the drinks are small. The place looks nice though and has a nice atmosphere.

As we entered it was a struggle to find a table that was genuinely clean or even cleared in most cases, the service was ok but would say it's not suitable for kid's. We was told to stop using straw's as we had a milkshake and being paper straws they kept on disolving(I found this pretty tight after I just spent £20 on food & drinks) either get rid of paper straws or allow a customer to enjoy what they just purchased with multiple paper straws. The young lady making the drinks was friendly and clearly understands how customer service works, shame not all do.

I visited with my mum before we went shopping. She just got a latte and I have a chai tea latte. We both got a sausage roll heated up as well. Mum said her latte was nice. My chai tea tasted just like warm milk and I work in a coffee shop myself so I know what it’s meant to taste like, there was hardly any chai in my drink. The sausage rolls were ok the pastry was lovely but the meat itself was very herby and that’s the only thing that but us off. Other then that we had a nice visit and it’s a cosy little place!

Bought a cappucino from here and it was the worst coffee I’ve ever had - £3.10 for a cup of lukewarm milk, basically. I was the only customer there at the time with 3 staff working so it wasn’t an issue of it being too busy or rushed, either. Won’t be buying from here again.

Great quality food and coffee which is no more expensive than Costa. Service is friendly and helpful. I definitely prefer the coffee here (got a flat white most recently) to any other coffee shop I know. Alternative options are also available e.g soy milk, but at a cost. Only improvement is the floor could be swept more but would still thoroughly recommend.

I don't think alot of people that review really understand the concept of harris and hoole. It is a speciality coffee shop serving speciality coffee not commodity crao like Costa and Starbucks. They ask your name to get to know their customers so you have pleasant service. The teams in store don't have control over pricing and seem to want to do their best to serve you amazing quality coffee. Knowledge and a ☺ lighten up guys

I have been here before and paid, with the help from a loan from my bank, for a soya latte. They are a bit Jurassic by still charging for soya milk in their drinks. Most of the other big chains will use soya milk for free, in all their drinks. Not Harris and Hoole, no sir, they will stick to their guns and charge that extra for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan. I went in and knew I would be ripped if I ordered the coffee, so I ordered a tea with soya milk, and they wanted £2:30 as they added an extra 20p on for a morsel of soya milk. So if you ask for a large latte which is all soya milk it is still 20p extra. Come on guys you can see this is a rip off and just unacceptable. So I had to order a peppermint tea, not bad for £2:10 considering they pick up a tea bag and tip hot water over it. It is an expensive shop, more so in the Romford branch. Costa and Starbucks are better value which is saying something. However I will now be going to Patisserie Valerie where the service is a whole lot better, the prices are cheaper, the environment is cleaner and you are waited on. If you are paying these prices you should expect a service. So go where they pride themselves on service to the customer and not just the financial gain.

I just spent £8.25 for a large soya latte and a flimsy falafel wrap. Wow, that is ridiculous, and the funniest part of it was that it tasted like I had it from a roadside cafe. I should have walked when I saw the highly inflated prices for Roneo Corner, not Mayfair or Stoke Newington but Romford. It is 2:15 and the place is half empty so I should have turned and left at that point. However I do try and support the cafes when I can. The problem lies when a place thinks it is something better than a cafe because they put some soft armchairs out and have a lot of framed pictures on the walls. The falafel wrap I had (£4.70), was a basic, flimsy wrap without flavour, substance or even filling. Out of ten this would get a 2, based on my Gaby's (Gaby's Charing cross road) standard for a 10 rating. The coffee is nothing to write home to your mother about unless you are writing to say you spent £3.35 on a coffee PLUS 20p extra for (fake milk, the barista's words) and therefore making it a whopping £3.55. None of the major chains would cost that much so who the hell do these people think they are. The coffee was OK, soured by the daylight robbery for the soya milk. Now apparently, never had it in 25 years of having soya milk in my latte's, the milk is fake and he cannot do the nice patterns that cow pus and blood molecules can do (yes that is an accurate description). So basically I have gone to Romford and been Cafe Mugged. I should have read the reviews as not one is really favourable as they all mention the extortionate prices. I could have gone to a whetherspoon pub and had coffee with soya milk all day for £1.05, all day. The sad thing being it would have not been much worse than this. Love to say out has been a pleasure but £8.25 for a coffee and wrap is a corporate food con.

Bit taken aback to be asked for my name. It wasn't busy, I was the only person queuing and I collected my drink. Upon asking I was told it was on his till. And??? Yet again an extremely depressing tea bag in a cup of hot water. Don't care your tea bag was a pretentious "plastic" variety. It was horrible quality and I had to make it myself. Stop taking the mick, at £2 a pop.

Coffee / snack shop situated within Tescos on Hornchurch Road. Nicely laid out and a chilled atmosphere. Good range of savoury snacks and cakes etc. Had a very expensive sausage roll at £3.25 and a small bowl of soup at £4.75. Tasty but very expensive for what it was. This would be better suited in a Waitrose rather than a Tescos.

Apologies for the late review. We had takeaway from here a couple weeks ago on a Sunday , our usual fish and chip shop is shut on a Sunday in Elm Park but my husband wanted fish and chips and we decided on this plaice . We have lived in elm park for 10 years now and haven’t eaten here for a few years. It didn’t disappoint. I had rock eel my husband had cod, the children had burgers . He said it’s one of the best cod he’s eaten recently and I really enjoyed my rock eel, apologies didn’t ask the children about the burgers but they didn’t complain or leave any . My husband got chatting to someone about skewers and he said the staff were really friendly. We would definitely go again and the prices are good . The chips weren’t greasy and were cooked perfectly . Neither was the fish , the fish were spot on . Nothing negative to say here.

What a absolute dirty place, toilets are all broken, electric wires stuck up with sellotape, air conditioning didn't work, bar staff was more interested in disappearing all the time, watered down drinks, very strong smell of drugs being smoked on the top floor, and manager has a very bad attitude, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone
