The best restaurants serving British food in London

Visited for afternoon tea and was very disappointed. I’ll start with the positive, nice location opposite the park and our waiter was friendly (though a little rushed as he was working alone to serve 3 tables). There were 4 small scones, choice between fuit and plain, I had plain and to be fair they were okay. Sadly the only thing that was okay. The sandwiches were 2 x smoked salmon and cream cheese, 2 x egg mayo and 2 x cucumber and cream cheese. There were also 2 tiny ham and tomato wraps which I didn’t eat due to tomatoes. The bread on the sandwiches were very dry as if they had maybe been made a few days in advance. The filling was very sparing and the only one which tasted slightly of anything was the egg mayo. You couldn’t taste the tiny slither of smoked salmon at all. Then the tiny dessert stuff on the top plate covered about half the plate and was laughable really. 1 strawberry cut in half (really, the couldn’t afford one strawberry each at the price they charged!), a tiny brownie and a tiny piece of coffee cheesecake. the 2 x tiny macaroons were, like the sandwiches, dried out. I really felt like asking for a refund but the waiter, as I mentioned, was lovely and I knew it wasn’t his fault. Added to this the roof was soo grubby and we looked up thinking at any moment a cobweb might fall onto our plate. Windows again grubby and spoilt what may have been a nice view of the park. A point of tea (of your choice) was included but there was an extra charge for coffee / lattes etc. Didn’t bother finish it as I was very uncomfortable with dirty surroundings and disappointed and the awful quality of food laid before us. Can not believe they get away with charging the price they do. Because of the lovely waiter I’m giving this place a poor instead of terrible.

Pleasant pub just perfect for a date

Really good Sunday brunch and not too busy as the City quietens somewhat at the weekend. Service with a smile and tasty food. Thought the price of the jalepino corn bread was a bit much for one tiny slice but other than that it was perfect. Lovely coffee too.

Very nice lovely pub but the food was very ordinary and over priced and the service was poor. The restaurant was busy being a Weekend evening and the nearby Come Alice show and there was a nice vibe. However, the food was average at best. The crab tacos were chewy and very salty and the beef in the beef salad was tough and overly strong in flavour. Had the staff bothered to ask how we found the meal we would have had the opportunity to complain. The goats cheese lasagne was nice but the chicken and leek pie was flavourless. Overall pretty disappointing with the whole experience and particular the lack of any real customer service. We won’t be going back for anything more than a drink and only then if there aren’t other options.

Absolutely sensational Sunday Lunch. Lovely atmosphere and great service. I was emotional about the venue having seen many bands and in fact played there twice myself. Great to see what a fantastic venue and restaurant/bar it is now. Thoroghly recommended.

After a long day, we were looking for somewhere to eat. We had planned to head back the hotel and find somewhere. As we get off the tube to head back we found Bills next to the exit. We went in got a table straight away and had great service and good food and all at a reasonable price.

Our pre-show drinks and dinner here were an excellent and fun start to a great Royal Albert experience! The menu had a nice variety of choices. A special thanks to our server Brianna for her part in making this stop a fun and most enjoyable experience.

Great food and drinks and exceptional service. The manager Jamie went over and over to accommodate us with our food. Highly recommend a visit. Great choice of wines especially Rose.

Clean, spacious, airy and a welcome respite from the hordes of tourists just outside. Basic, but in context a real treasure given the location.

Having been here since few years. Used to visit at least twice weekly. Managed to find a table on this very busy Saturday afternoon - around 16:15 - where most of the customers including the ladies are watching the Rugby. Enjoying my no head pint of Birra Moretti Service is good

Top bar where you can expect good beer & friendly service from all of the staff. Always helpful in finding obscure sports too.

The fish and chips were very good. You can get other of dishes like burgers, Italian and steaks too. In the morning, they have breakfast menu too. the service was good too.
