Not welcome if you just want a drink on deck. We called on a Monday lunchtime for a bottle of wine on their empty deck but were turned away by the manager who said they were only accepting reservations. The indoor section was also virtually empty. We went instead to the nearby Tattershall where the wine was cheaper, nicer and deck was much more comfortable. Shame as we had been customers of the Hispaniola for many years.

We were given tickets for a set menu here. Unfortunately the food was very ordinary, and the service was exceptionally slow. There is no way the service should have been slow as there were only 3 other tables in use. In fact it was so slow that after the waiter had brought us the bill with a 10% service charge on it, he returned to our table and presented us with a replacement bill without the service charge, apologising for the slow service (that was done without us initiating it, so well done for that).It sounds like a novel idea to eat on a boat floating on the River Thames, but that is all it is. A novel idea. I've scored it a 3 star, but I've been quite generous there.

For many years R.S. Hispaniola has served good food adjacent to Charing Cross on Victoria Embankment. I had a business lunch there with my accountant and found it delightful. The service was personal, the food was great - and sensibly priced - and the view over the South Bank was lovely, despite wet, dull weather. It was a windy day and you could feel the ship move with the swell! The menu was a bit limited and dominated by seafood but there was enough choice and above all enough space to have a conversation without being really close to other diners. Our bottle of Chardonnay cost a reasonable £23.00 and my chicken was about £17.00. My colleague had a steak and said it was excellent. We really liked the quiet ambience, but understand that the ship may close in the near future. So if you want an unusual and very pleasant dining experience, book a table soon!

We were staying in Northumberland Avenue, and this seemed an obvious location for our evening meal, celebrating my wife's birthday with the family, especially as we had just travelled on the Eye and could see it from our table. The setting was characterful and the service very pleasant. Things started to go wrong when two of our party received gin and tonics. These were sent back as they tasted mainly of water with little hint of gin. They were replaced with an apology and explanation that the machine wasn't functioning properly. After that our starters and mains were generally acceptable (duck, chicken and salmon), the vegan option was appreciated by one of us, and the kids' meals were enjoyed by our boys. However, my wife, whose special occasion it was, described her moules mariniere as the worst she had ever eaten. The waitress passed the dish over the table to my wife, saying 'be careful of the sauce', but it was so full and runny that my wife managed to spill it on her brand new dress. She said the mussels were very small and the sauce too runny and tasteless. She made her views known to one of the waiting staff, and certainly her complaint was taken very seriously - the costs of her meal and both her drinks were removed from the bill, which was appreciated. I see there are a number of other reviews mentioning low quality meals, and it is a pity that a restaurant in such an attractive location cannot serve good meals consistently.

This was a double birthday treat from buy a gift with a city cruise.Had a wonderful day and the evening on the boat rounded off the day.We did have a slight problem with one of the meals and the staff couldn't have been more apologetic. It was promptly sorted and they gave us free g&t's and free sides.The staff were lovely and it was a very friendly boat. Would not hesitate to go back.Thank you all for a lovely evening.P.s. your toilets were a bit yuk!!

Worst afternoon tea -AVOID!! waited over an hour for food and when it arrived was so disappointing. Most of it looked shop bought ie cherry bakewells and M&S macaroons. The Prosecco was free flowing but to be honest after an hour with no food at lunchtime we were slightly sick of it! Definitely would not return or recommend. The trip was a gift for us from family and I feel sad that this ended up being a far from enjoyable gift

I came here with 2 friends for afternoon tea. Upon arrival we were told they were only taking cash today - none of us had any cash so we were forced to leave and go get some. Not the end of the world but a bit annoying considering we weren’t informed of this prior to our booking.We paid £21 each for the afternoon tea and the selection was very very poor. We got 3 finger sandwiches each and a scone. We left hungry. To be fair we were offered a glass of prosecco to make up for the cash only issue which was nice, but definitely the afternoon tea was not good value for money at all and we left feeling very underwhelmed. Would not return.

Booked a girls dinner here with some fussy eaters! The set menu had an option for everyone. The food was freshly made and beautifully presented. The service was a little slow and the wine list a little light on options but generous with the 2hr free flowing prosecco.

Me and my boyfriend visited the R. S. Hispaniola for a three course meal and unlimited Prosecco. It was amazing! The food was delicious, the Prosecco was free flowing and our waiter absolutely made our evening. Andrei was conscientious and friendly going above an beyond to welcome us to the restaurant. We will definitely be returning!

When in the city we always aim towards the Hispaniola.

My friend booked a wonderful surprise birthday treat on the R.S. Hispaniola - a 3 course meal with free flowing prosecco!

The staff are lovely; very polite and helpful. The boat could do with a little “TLC” if I’m honest ... the tables had been treated with a varnish which was all peeling off so perhaps a table cloth could be a nice touch? The menu was quite good BUT it was a shame the dishes we ordered were not available (salmon and duck). Alternatives were offered but not what we would have chosen. Everything was cooked lovely! The shrimp starter (which has a £3 supplement) was not worth it as there were a few tiny shrimps in a butter sauce served in a small ramekin bowl which didn’t warrant the extra cost! If I’m honest the best thing about the meal was the desert ... honeycomb cheesecake.

I booked a 3 course lunch with free flowing Prosecco (for an hour) for myself and 3 friends. We were greeted by friendly staff then shown to our table - what an amazing setting for lunch, on the River Thames overlooking the London Eye. Our first glass of prosecco quickly arrived and was followed by many more, not once did we have to ask the waiters for a refill, they were extremely attentive and really nice to chat to, they made us feel very welcome. The food was lovely, beautifully presented, plentiful and very tasty. I could not fault the R.S.Hispaniola and will definately be returning. The whole experience was made extra special by such nice staff. A fantastic afternoon, I would recommend to anyone.

We got bought this virgin 3 course lunch with a glass of Prosecco and river sightseeing for Christmas and couldn’t of been happier. The food was expertly cooked and the service was spot on. The boat is moored on the Embankment right opposite the London Eye. As the day got a bit cloudy we decided not to go on the sightseeing boat and as the tickets last until September we are going to have another weekend away and use them. We would highly recommend this experience as we had a lovely time.

We had dinner (Table D'Hote) on Wednesday 30/1/2020 in their upper restaurant. It was a great experience. The place is nice, the view over the river is exciting, the food was good and the service was superb. I cannot fault it in any way

I organised a set lunch meal for 36 people at this venue and emphasized when booking that we wanted a full 3 course meal served in time for us to leave in under one and a half hours, When we arrived, the staff were ready to welcome us and we were quickly served our meal promptly by the efficient and friendly staff. The food was excellent and very good value. We were away to our next appointment with time to spare. Thank you to all the staff n the Hispaniola which I highly recommend..

Booked here for a ‘treat’ after visiting the Theatre. Location is fantastic, views across the Thames and the London Eye. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I ordered one of their signature dishes, surf and turf which consisted of half a lobster Thermidor and a fillet steak, my partner went for the black truffle risotto. The lobster had virtually no meat and when I asked for some crackers to be able to extract the claw meat was informed they didn’t have any! The steak was very good though. My partners risotto had no sign of black truffle but she liked the dish as it was so we left it there. I informed the waiter about the lack of lobster and that what meat there was was in fact dry. The waiter was apologetic and returned to say the price would be deducted from the bill and that the desserts would be on the house - because of this my score is higher that it would have been. The lobster was a letdown, note to the management if you have signature dishes then ensure they are worthy of the name and price tag.

If you are a fan of the show Peaky Blinders, or just like dressing up and having fun, I highly recommend this evening on the RS Hispaniola.

We had a great chicken lunch 3 years ago so came back. This time only one waiter / barman / front of house on deck. He demonstrated lack of understanding of requests. I'm allergic to exotic mushrooms, eg shiitake. The duck was on menu with "woodland" mushrooms. Decided to ask for duck without mushrooms. Two others ordered duck and nobody got mushrooms until we asked for them later. Other vegetables were not served with the meal, but 10 minutes later. It was not clear from waiter what was included. My daughter, whose birthday it was, ordered mussels with greens on the side. Those greens never arrived but I think was on the bill. It was so difficult having a two way conversation with the waiter, I paid without quibble but left no tip. He was a pleasant man, smiley, obviously moving at pace, but left alone the service was not sufficient. I had also had a problem with the booking, asking for a table for 4 (I love 60 miles away) but confirming email said two. Spent ages trying to phone but not able to get through or leave message. No reply to email. Had to re- order on website. This is a sweet restaurant in beautiful location but it feels like a lady with dementia to us. Won't be back.

For the second year in a row we have had our Christmas party here and it was brilliant! Tihana who organised the booking was incredibly helpful, and Pedro and his team who ran the event in the evening couldn't have been more accommodating.Good value for money and great location on the river with easy access from Embankment or Waterloo. We hired the whole venue and it's perfect for up to 280 pax.

We loved Andrei <3 also, food was a-ma-zing. Thank you for a fantastic 30th birthday supper! Loved it!

¡Que experiencia! La comida era increíble, todo el personal fue excepcional (especialmente el chico que mantuvo nuestras copas con champán durante una buena hora!). Esperaba compartir una mesa, pero cuando aparecimos teníamos una para nosotros con una vista perfecta del London Eye. Salimos a ver los fuegos artificiales a medianoche, con mucho espacio para todos en la cubierta. Si tienes la oportunidad de hacerlo, no lo dudes.

2 entrecôtes, frites un cheessecake , un pichet de vin 50 cl 105 £ ( environ 120€) et en plus très bruyant.

This is one of the saddest meals I had in a long time. First course lobster bisque that tasted like old fish with cumin, combined with a bread roll that was heated in the microwave making it impossible to chew through. My spouse had truffle mushrooms, which had no truffles in it. The main - duck breast - was accompanied by precut slightly acidy vegetables, the kind you buy in the frozen section at Aldi for 50p. Lastly, we payed a £6 surcharge for a cheese board which consisted of two pieces of cheap cheese, as a last "we really don't give a sh*t" about our customers, in case you were still wondering.

Great evening with a great plot. Greeted with a glass of bubbly & some canapes. Guests were taken into the theme of the evening almost immediately they arrived.

Booked to go here whilst we was on our annual London Christmas trip . Had Christmas menu at a shared party , 16 of us picked options off Christmas menu . Thought there would have been more people there but didn’t stop our fun . The meal was lovely everyone seemed to enjoy the only fault I could make is there wasn’t enough veg with the Christmas dinner and the meat was a thick cut which I would have preferred more veg and less meat ! The boat looks a bit shabby on the outside but was ok on the inside the atmosphere was there for our party. I would go again as we really enjoyed our night together.

We all had soup to start which was good but not great. We got one piece of bread each with the soup and no butter (and no offer of any butter). My companions both ordered the turkey christmas lunch. The turkey was not fresh turkey and was more like a turkey roll, they each got only 1 - 2 brussel sprouts each and some cauliflower no other vege such as carrotts or anything green. There was mention of a Yorkshire pudding on the menu which was not on the plates and when questioned we were told the menu had changed and these were no longer on the menu now. The food was very salty. I had the salmon which to be fair was good. I ordered the seasonal vegetables as well and got cauliflower, 1 brussel sprout (which was very hard) and potatoes. In my mind potatoes are not seasonal vegetables - I already had potatoes with my meal so didn't need any more with my vege. Seems like they had a lot of cauliflower in stock but no other vegetables to offer. To be fair the waiter did give us some money off when we said the food was very salty but would definitely not go back and visit again.

Popped in here for lunch. It was quiet. Service was average. The food should have been better. I had the duck and was asked how I wanted it cooked. I asked for medium and it was overcooked..... bit of a shame. It does have a great view of the eye as it’s on the thames, so a good spot for a drink.

Unusually quiet when we visited but the food was excellent and the service similarly good. Had a window booth with an excellent view of the river. Would certainly recommend. Don’t be put off by the construction work on the embankment- it won’t spoil the view

We went on a deal in a party of 4 to a Tina Turner tribute night. The food served was good restaurant quality. Wine came free with the deal. The entertainment was spot on. Just a great spot opposite the London Eye.

I came back at the ship to celebrate my parents 35th wedding anniversary and what a great night we had... For starters we enjoyed the mushrooms on toast, the lobster bisque, the risotto balls and they were delicious.

I arranged a team away day lunch at this restaurant. The back of house team were amazing with their help to arrange this, even when I had last minute changes they were very accommodating - The management team (Tihana and Debora) were especially helpful.

We visited here for my mums 60th birthday. We were in a group of 6 so covered most of the menu and every dish was delicious. The free flowing Prosecco went down a treat. Our server Andrei was really attentive and really looked after us. Would definitely recommend. We would definitely go again.

Work event for 20 people. It is a total nightmare to organise any staff "away day" the decision to have lunch on the Thames was a nice idea. The interior of the RS Hispaniola is pleasant enough and as everyone agreed the views are fabulous.

Went here on Saturday night 7pm not busy but had to wait for service. Slow bringing drinks and food. Food was not very hot. Mash potato tasted like out of a packet. Very expensive service charge. When we left at about 9.00pm it had become very cold on there for the last half an hour. Overall not the experience I was expecting.

The boat is situated opposite the London Eye with stunning daytime and evening views of the South Bank. The boat itself does look a wee bit tired in places and could do with a spruce up, However, the food and service is exceptional. The menu choice and food we were served certainly outshines the environment it is served in, it is exceptional and certainly value for money. I would re-visit again.

We was brought a package as a wedding present for a meal with Virgin experience voucher at the R.S.Hispaniola and a boat ride and the whole package was amazing. The staff were exceptional and so accommodating and the views were great. The food was really nice and if I was going to be critical maybe the food was just over seasoned with salt but suppose some may like that. This didn't ruin anything however but did mark down by one star.

Can't fault our visit to RS Hispaniola, from the very warm welcome, excellent food and great service. We had a great seat looking out over the Thames and the whole place had a great feel. The service was also excellent and with the bottomless Prosecco offer our glasses were never empty, but the visit is worth it just for the food

Had the most amazing food here a couple months ago. Went back one sunny afternoon for some sundowners. The view of the London eye and the sunset are stunning. If it’s not too cold outside I would highly recommend sitting outside on the deck with a bottle of wine and watching the sun set.

We had a gift experience meal for the Hispaniola. The venue is very easy to find, turn left out of the Tube Embankment and then left along the river and they up on the right hand side. We were welcomed on board and then shown to our reserved table. The food was amazing, i had the lamb and my wife had the chicken both were cooked perfectly. The view from out table was overlooking the London Eye which as it got dark was magical. The waiter service from Andrie was exceptional and he always checked that we were happy. I would thoroughly recommend this venue for food and atmosphere. You can walk on board as a general public or use the experience vouchers we had. Five stars !!

My wife and I ate here earlier this week on a Virgin Experience Voucher bought by our daughter to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. We ate early in the evening having attended the matinee performance of Tina at the Aldwych Theatre. Despite arriving earlier than booked, we were shown to our table which had a great view of The Thames and the London Eye. The guy that attended to us explained the deal we were on which included two glasses of Prosecco and the set meal. This had a number of supplements on it and we chose one of these, the sirloin steak. The starter, main meal and sweet were all excellent and served politely and speedily. We had a wonderful visit which was only slightly spoilt by the fact that we were overcharged for our supplements. I only realised this on the tube later and I would like to think it was a genuine mistake. As part of the deal we were also given cruise tickets to use later. All in all a worthwhile visit and one which we will repeat. I will just make sure to check the bill next time to avoid enduring my wife’s wrath.

I was whit my wife at a romantic dinner, we felt very good , the food was delicious and the boy who served us , Andrei took care to complete the decor.

Had vouchers so used today. Very disappointing indeed. Overpriced for dry tasteless sandwiches, cheap supermarket style bakewell tarts and scones. Took 45 minutes to get tea. Bill wrong and large service charge. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

This is the second time I come to this place, the first time was about 2 years ago with some girlfriends and we had a fabulous time. On Saturday, I went with my family and we all loved our food, the beautiful view and the service by our waiter Andrei, was outstanding!!! A really wonderful time, can't wait to go back!! Thank you Andrei for making our day in London even more fun and special!!

Got a voucher A Dozen Oysters and a Glass of Champagne Each for Two aboard RS Hispaniola. After a terrible booking process through email they finally assigned a time slot for us (I had to send the voucher PDF twice until they realized what's it). When we arrived everybody in staff were surprised about the fact of the voucher existence and eventually about the oysters menu they supposed to offer.

We had unlimited Prosecco Lunch with my bf yesterday, We liked everything very much. Excellent service from our waiter Andrei he quickly brought everything and mage sure our glasses were tipped d ip. we did not wait long for any of the courses. Great attention . Thanks Andrei

We were a party of 5 on a Friday evening celebrating my sister's birthday. The restaurant was really nice and not very crowded, we had a very nice table next to the window and the service we received great from the second we walked in. Our waiter Andrei was brilliant with his recommendations and knowledge about the menu. Would definitely recommend

I went on Saturday with my friends to celebrate a birthday. We went for the special 3 course lunch with free-flowing Prosecco! It was terrific. The trout was excellent and the veggie option was great too. Andrei the waiter was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive and professional explaining everything really well. We never felt hurried and the food had excellent portions. Thanks to the chef and staff, especially for singing "happy Birthday" with enthusiasm and making the afternoon special! We will come again.

My friends came in visit to London, and Hispaniola was choose for dinner, the food was delicious,it’s a beautiful place with amazing view, the service was amazing with a polite staff, a perfect memory of London!

While in London visiting friends we came here for dinner. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing! But most of all I have to thank our waiter, Andrei. He was very friendly and professional! it was the best evening I had while I was in London. I plan to come back and visit my friends, and this is one place that I will revisit. My husband and I just ate dinner here and absolutely loved the view of the River Thames, Ferris wheel, and the Golden Jubilee Bridge. Not to mention...the food was phenomenal and the staff was incredibly kind and generous!! We ate the Aberdeen Angus Chateaubriand Steak for two, with delicious grilled tomatoes, chips, and arugula salad with Parmesan. This was the best dinner we could have imagined for our first night in London,— the first night of our honeymoon. We can’t wait to come back and eat here when we return in the future!

Visited as a guest in the R.S Hispaniola restaurant for a dinner. We were entertaining friends from California, and enjoyed our ocean side table. We chose to stay indoors - to enjoy the air conditioning . I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a delightful waitress, Andrei. He had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. He recognised that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. She and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. Thank you, for sure we are going to visit again you’re Restaurant-Ship!

We were there for my birthday party, the best choice ever. I was such a nice experience. The staff wishes me Happy Birthday, they made me feel special, very friendly and professional. Given a red letter day for river cruise and 3 course dinner.

The front of house guy must of been having a bad day! No welcoming smile or throughout our visit. My friend wanted the sirloin streak as she was told that it might be fatty and tough, so she chose something else. Starters arrived really quickly. Then the wait began, after an hour I asked where our main course was to be told give us two minutes, no apology given. That two minutes turned into another 20 minutes, again no apology!

Andrew, our waiter, was full of personality and humour which certainly helped the evening along. After a steep slope down to the boat, thanks to a low tide we climbed aboard the Hispaniola and made our way to a spacious restaurant on the Upper Deck. There is plenty of room here although the seats are a little far away from the tables; the boat was not crowded on our Monday evening visit and the waiting staff were attentive and efficient. We really enjoyed our food, two of us opting for fish dishes and one for the chicken. We all agreed that the meals were delicious, well cooked and beautifully presented. Our starters were fantastic and the bread baskets had really tasty offerings. Only one of us felt that we could tackle a dessert and that too hot a full vote of confidence- a warm chocolate brownie which was a slab not just a slice!

I bought this for my parents as a day out in the city, but unfortunately they didn't have a particularly pleasant day. Dated decor and below average options on the bottomless tea for two. Over zealously buttered sandwiches, coupled with dry scones, the accompanying jar of jam was already open, and less than fresh cakes. They did say the prosecco did keep coming. Wouldn't recommend. A bit disappointed...

A group of ten dining club members returned to the ship, to see what new management, and an interior upgrade had achieved. We were very well surprised and pleased with what we saw. The upstairs dining area makes a huge difference to the old seedy pink area on the deck below. The staff were really helpful, and made it an enjoyable afternoon. We took advantage of one of the set menu, dining offers, with prossecc for an hour before we dined. They even arranged tables to suit the size of our group

I always thought that you had to eat on these boats , or that they were only for posh people!! . How wrong was I!!! Had a lovejy drink sitting outside at the front of the boat for my sons 17th !! Lovely!!!!!

We had enjoyed a cruise on the Thames and as part of our ticket had a meal here---Food was so-so and just about every course had extra to pay---AND No trout (Thursday early evening ?) so they expected you to pay extra for a main course--The steak wasn't too bad / again extra to pay, although we had to ASK! for steak knives !-I ordered a pint of Strongbow (as advertised in the menu "Strongbow" ) and a fruit cider arrived which was ALL they had--Why advertise it, if you don't sell it--A really tired old restaurant with cheap decor--Certainly won't be back!!

We took over the boat for a summer party and pre-ordered set drinks and food which was all confirmed by the organisers. On arrival no-one knew what was going on and none of the pre-ordered drinks were on hand - jugs of pimms to greet staff - nowhere to be seen. Better wine that the not properly chilled house wine - nowhere to be seen. Food ok but the green salad was more of a garnish than one of 3 salads, some chicken under cooked.

The quality of food here was really good, and the service was attentive. Just a pity that the tired decor was rather off-putting, as was the racket from whatever Friday evening party was going on below decks. No excuse for smelly toilets either.

Pasé una agradable velada celebrando el cumpleaños de mi novio. Hubo un poco de confusión con el momento de la reserva, pero a pesar de eso fuimos atendidos por Andrei que estuvo atento, explicó todo bien y la hizo una gran noche. Recomendaría ir a este restaurante. ¡También le da a Andrei un aumento de sueldo! ¡Definitivamente lo merece!

We had drinks at the bar on the top deck and really enjoyed the great views of the Thames and the London Eye. The prices were really reasonable too for a place with such great views.

we have seen this restaurant is passing over a number of years. In July we stoped for lunch and we were quite impressed. The food was great as was the service. The cost and quality for where it is was very reasonable. We will be happy to go again when next around the area.

I have been on here only for drinks but the food coming out looked amazing and definitely want to go back and try some. There are two outside decks with seating which are also great in the evening

Hoy pasé una tarde encantadora en la RS Hispaniola cenando con mi esposo, mi hija y mi yerno. Esto fue reservado como un regalo que incluía un menú de 3 platos y una copa de Prosecco cada uno. Nos sentamos junto a la ventana, así que teníamos una buena vista del London Eye. La comida se veía y sabía muy bien, especialmente la fruta de verano se desmoronaba con crema. Una jarra grande de Pimms para complementar la comida era solo 19. 95. El servicio era excelente, con un personal amable y servicial. Vale la pena una visita.
