I don't usually leave reviews however my experience here recently is deserving of one. What an amazing experience! Our steaks were cooked to perfection, I wasn't entirely sure which steak to have but our host, Amanda, was able to help me choose with her in depth knowledge of the menu. I was able to enjoy a perfect fillet steak with her help. Everything ran smoothly, with very little wait between courses, and finished with a sublime sharing board for dessert. Absolutely wonderful. Thank you Miller & Carter, and Amanda, for making our special night even better. We will certainly return again.

We had scallops and sticky chicken for starters. Really good. For mains I had a ribeye cooked medium as recommended and my partner had a full rack of ribs which we ended up sharing. Really tasty. Finished with banofee pie and a berry merengue sorbet. Oh and an after eight thirty cocktail and an old fashioned chocolate cocktail. Service was lovely. Thank you Amanda. My friend and I had a good meal here this evening, Michelle our waitress was a delight, will certainly dine here again and will ask to be in Michelle's section.

My husband & I went for a valentines meal, paid £6 extra each for a fillet steak. Overall total bill £82.00.Considering this is a steak house that boasts about it, the steak was rather chewy and quite tough. The dog enjoyed it. Also the chocolate brownie was very doughy and not much taste.When I emailed the manager Javed Ahmed all he had to say was he would forward my comments onto the steak suppliers and it was up to the food development team if they wanted to change the receipt of the brownie. He also said about total devotion to our guests, I’m still wondering how that one works as I am £82 lighter and disappointed . I would definitely not go back there and waste my hard earned money.

Lovely quiet spot for a drink, some food or both. Great deals throughout the week and the restaurant is airy and clean although sometimes a little chilly!

Well not sure where to start. On the up side we were really pleased to see that Tim who used to be the manager at the Camelot had taken over so we knew that we could expect good service and more importantly good food.

Good luck getting served here. We walked away after being asked to wait while the waiter continued on chatting with his colleagues. Extremely rude staff and on previous occasions they can take north of an hour to serve your food.

Came here for a bite to eat after a long day at work and wasn't very happy with the quality of the food. Steaks were small, tough and over cooked. I politely mentioned it to one of the staff, and although she did offer to get another cooked and I declined as I wanted to eat and go home, she did nothing to discount my meal. Didn't say anything but just left. Don't think I'll be returning. Not a good experience.

Been here before but at lunch times and there is a difference. We arrived shortly after 7pm on a Sunday evening. After ordering our starters and mains the waitress returned to say they had run out of my starter choice of smoked salmon. Given this is a senior brand of the Mitchell and Butlers group I was surprised and disappointed. We dispensed with the starters.

Great night out. Our waitress Becky could not have been nicer or more helpful. Tasty steak, cooked nicely, generous sides, restaurant was immaculately clean. I ride horses within metres of this place and have long been overdue a trip. Even had GF sauces for steaks which is UNHEARD of in the steak world. Only downside is they did not do gluten-free fries as anything fried went in the same oil, which is a mini lazy fail but you cannot have everything. Will definitely be back.

Went miller and carter Newbury Park last night for the first time- can honestly say was the best experience all round . Food was cooked to perfection , always had a drink in our hand . Kelly our waitress was a star she made us feel comfortable and at ease while we enjoyed our meal- will definitely be returning soon.

I can highly recommend this restaurant for both food quality and atmosphere, but most especially for the service. All the staff are excellent, but Alissa is absolutely outstanding!

Visited with my family today, was blown away by our server Alissa, she is an absolute asset to miller & carter our service was quick efficient & very friendly,from start to finish she had us laughing & made us feel welcome. It was my dads 70th birthday & Alissa put a candle in his gorgeous dessert which I thought was a lovely touch. Our food was perfect & my steak cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this miller & carter been to a few but would say after today’s visit this is the best.

Visited with my friends for a catch up, not expecting much but turned out to be an absolute amazing lunch. We all had steak which were cooked beautifully with a lovely crisp onion loaf, the wedge of lettuce with a dressing although some people find odd! We all loved.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food and drink was superb. Definitely go there again. Highly recommend to all.

I brought my family here for an evening meal last week and we were not disappointed! Our waitress Adriana was an excellent host and recommended the lamp rump which was one of the best meals I've ever had. She took lovely care of us and helped made it an enjoyable evening!

Let’s face it, Miller and Carter put themselves out there as a premium steak restaurant. So on a quietish Tuesday at 6pm I would not have expected to have been kept waiting for a drinks order for 20 minutes.

I’ve been here a few times, but the service tonight was the best I’ve had so far. Also, tried the new Buttermilk Chicken experience. Highly recommend visiting this branch and Michelle, our waitress, made it that much more special.

I had a lovely dinner in the evening with particular thanks to Michelle who was great! The service was really good and Michelle was extremely friendly and attentive. I recommend the buttermilk chicken and the lobster mac and cheese!

Visited for the 100th time and still as good as always with the added bonus of a lovely, friendly and helpful waitress Michelle. Had the Rib eye steak and yes it was perfect. Christmas cocktail and a free glass of prosecco for my birthday and I 2as a very happy bunny. Thank you M & C for pulling it together again.

tonight it was exceptionally full. understandable near christmas. everyone was extremely busy but our waitress made our visit so enjoyable. she was cool as a cucumber! her general talk and humour is very rare in these fast paced times. nothing was too much. so THANKYOU michelle. i hope you serve us again x

We always ask for the same person to serve us as he is excellent. We get 5 star service I've even got items on menu changed so I can eat them. There is a varied menu and the food is excellent quality. An excellent place for a leisurely romantic meal

Always drove past this place but didn’t visit till now. Nice little bar in the waiting area, easy to park. My steak was cooked to perfection and they have decent choice of wine. The place was very busy but waitress found the time to give us some advice about our future trip to Prague. Thank you Jana and thank you chefs, we got stuffed and will be back in January

I went there with my friend. The food was really good, but what made our dinner even more special was the service. Young girl who was serving us was fabulous. She made us welcome since the beginning. She was smiling all the time and she was very polite.

Service was absolutely awful- waitress was so rude no social skills considering in the service industry- McDonald’s has better service and the set menu is supposed to be £23.95 on a Sunday which they didn’t price as that, it was all priced individually, we asked for the bill to be revised & the bill still didn’t work out correct. Definitely not worth the money that is charged. Drinks came half way through the food. Not worth spending your hard earn money here at all. Don’t waste your time here

Went to miler & carter for dinner and drinks. Very poor service, no staff to serve and take orders. Manager was making drink by following recipes from paper and was very rude. I love their food though. End up having dinner at Miller&Carter; at Wollaton.

What an amazing evening. All you need to do is book in advance and have a little patience while inside. The food was beautiful. Lovely atmosphere. You have to be patient with staff because the place gets quite busy evening and weekend time

Went to this restaurant today! What a let down! Food was fine but orders messed up. Drink orders in correct and a guy who we presume was the bar manager was rude. Will not be dining there again!

We arrived at approx 1.40 this afternoon. The restaurant wasn't busy as we had a choice of 5 spaces right by the front door. We went in to get a table. The desk wasn't manned but there were 2 bar staff and a wait staff at the bar. All 3 studiously ignored us standing there clearing wishing to eat. This went on for nearly 10 minutes. No member of staff spoke to us or advised that a host would be over shortly to seat us. After a final attempt to attract attention which sadly failed we walked out.

We had great todayservice by a lovely waiter called Natty and gave us a wonderful experience. Reccomend this restaurant very much

Went for a family lunch 7 people, the food was very good, served hot by very friendly, helpful and efficient people. This is the best Miller and Carter that I have been to. Set lunch menu is very reasonably priced. Recommended

Have been to this restaurant several times and enjoyed the experience. The food was great. We ordered from the set lunchtime menu which for two courses is very reasonable. We didn't have to book in advance as the restaurant wasn't busy.There was 3 children with us and they also enjoyed their meals. My only criticism was that the waitress was quite grumpy which came across quite clearly. I would recommend the Dick Turpin for couples and families it is a very pleasant place. Sitting out in the sun and feeling like it was very rural when actually it is quite close to the Eastern Ave.

I refer you to my last review. Came because in the area and not lots of alternatives. Once again, service was glacially slow. There just are not enough staff. The carpet and whole place also needs a deep clean. Food - as have said before - is good - but to be honest it's hit and misss and poor past experiences with glassware and cutlery means have to focus on whether it is clean or not. Is that not just a given with most restaurants? So no - expensive still for mediocre service. Needs a clean and management to pay for staff to service the customers. When that happens it might be nice. Btw, the bar really needs a clean.

Have been here before.. Nice pub in the country side.. Big menu, good food.. wife had the chicken, I’d a pork dish.. both were yumm.. topped that up with ale.. am mostly into ale now a days.. this time saw peacocks in the backyard.. so there is some wildlife as well.. recommended..

Me and my family have been coming here for years for our special occasions and are never disappointed! If you want a really good steak at a decent price then this is the place to be! I can't recommend this place enough!!!

OK, so as non-meat eaters, we realise a Steakhouse is not the ideal restaurant for us, but the Dick Turpin M&C; is just around the corner from us so no driving! Our previous experience is that it has been OK but pricey for what it is. In all fairness this time (Fri 20th July) it was very good. I had the Salmon Supreme and it was delicious, the red cabbage puree was new to me but really tasty, the Salmon was a large fillet and well cooked. The revelation was the green beans, I usually tolerate rather than enjoy them but they were cooked perfectly which makes a refreshing change! The cheese board was also very generous with a lot of cheese. My wife's veggie burger was good as were the kid's meals. Have they upped their game or did we just Strike it Lucky? I guess the next visit will reveal the truth.

With friendly staff and superb food this restaurant was a great choice for lunch. Although it was hot inside due to some technical issues with the air-con and a heatwave outside this did not diminish our enjoyment. The restaurant was well-supported locally too. We certainly enjoyed ourselves and we will be back.

I visit here weekly to lunch with friends. The service is great , by very friendly staff. A good fresh menu and even though its a steak restaurant, there is lots of variety, even for a vegetarian like me. Lots of car parking too.

Ok the air con wasn't working. Annoying yes but things break down. This didn't detract from a wicked steak and the staff (especially dean) made sure we were look3d after and kept us well hydrated.

Extremely hot just now as apparently “they don’t have air conditioning at the moment “ I did ask if this meant it was broken and was greeted with the same response again “ they don’t have air conditioning at the moment”. Not really sure what that meant other than the restaurant was uncomfortable and airless. The staff did eventually open the windows which helped but it’s not unreasonable to expect air conditioning in a restaurant like this when it’s a very hot day. I felt sorry for the staff who were clearly suffering in the heat as well. Overall not very impressive! Food mediocre.

Our server today was Connie and she is the reason for my return to Miller and Carter. Connie is very courteous and always seems to remember exactly what I want. Her knowledge and choice of cuisine is exceptional! Keep it up Connie!

The service was so BAD there that I will never go back there again. Me and my friend were standing at the reception desk to be seated about 15 minutes the bartender said “you just have to wait for someone to come” after some time the manager came, he didn’t even apologise he didn’t seem interested at all he took the menus and took us to the table he didn’t even ask if we are happy to be seated there. Then we had to try get attention from waitress where she didn’t pay no attention to our table, we order starters and main course. The starters came after 10 minutes but the main course took about 30 mins to come after we finished our starter. Our waitress bought salad first and not the main course. Some other waitress was walking past so we asked “ if she can find out how long we still have to wait as we been waiting for 20 minutes?” where she relied “I don’t know but I will go and check and I will let you know” SHE NEVER CAME BACK. Then after some time our waitress came with the food she didn’t even apologise or anything she just put the plates on the table and walked off.

The staff was very polite and always on hand even though it was very busy. Steak was cooked perfectly

Booked through web site very easy was running slightly late received text from automatic group saying will hold table for a further 15 mins all very helpful arrived 3 mins late of original booking so no problem then waited in reception to be meted and greeted this took nearly 10 mins nobody around finally a young gentleman arrived no apology for delay confirmed party details then took 2menus to table and left before we even got to table there was a problem with table very wobbly nobody around to talk to so again went back to reception was told by bartender that he would get someone once again further 5 mins wait same gentleman came back and asked how he could help I explained about the table he knew this previously asked why he didn’t sit us at table and asked us if we were happy with positioning he had no answer I then asked for manager only to find out he was manager I explained that I wasn’t very happy with service no apologies with that in mind we left and won’t be returning

This was my first trip to Miller and carter and will probably be my last , I had the scallops for starter which were chewy , and they didn’t taste fresh , if I had to bet I would say they were bought in frozen , The potatoes cubes that the Scollops came on were not good they tasted oily , the tempura samphire didn’t taste of anything .

We as a group have been going here once a month for about 18 years for lunch today we went for drinks went to the bar to order no doombar until the manager comes on shift??? Settled for somethong else table we sat at dirty with dishes on we cleared the dishes asked for a cloth to wile the table reply later i am very busy( surly rude bar staff) then second round jack daniels and coke we have no jack daniels??? Ok we will have that single malt none left in the bottle ??? The manager arrives when i question no doombar no jack daniels we have 6 barrels doombar in the cellar?? Why can noone change a barrel other than the manager why are they running out of every day drinks what is happening here?? Female toileys out of order again use disabled toilet floor covered in paper toilet roll card mop and bucket outside the door this has been an awful experience shabby ripped furniture dirty tables rude bar staff can they not order stock on a rdgular basis to make sure customers get what they ask for very disappointed with our drinks outing will have to change our venue for our future get togethers

Miller & Carter is a 20 minute walk from Newbury Park Station. The restaurant just had some refurbishment works to the exterior. The restaurant was too dark inside and it had a slight odour (possibly fermented carpets). I really feel they need to lighten the decor because it's a nice location with a lot of natural daylight. We chose not to be seated outside as too many flies. We ordered from the lunch time menu and the dishes took far too long to arrive. I had the 2 courses from the lunch time menu for £10.95. I really didn't like the way my Sea Bass Fillet dish was presented and found it wasn't filling (I remember I experienced this when I previously visited). I had the Caramel Apple Crumble with Custard for dessert and that was lush.

On my most recent visit to Miller and Carter on a Friday afternoon, we were disappointed to discover that the majority of steak options were unavailable. How can a steakhouse run out of steaks. Whilst I was able to order a t-bone, I had ordered it well done. The steak arrived medium rare. I notified the staff who proceeded to char the steak. Where it had already been cut the juices had run out of he steak and it ultimately became extremely tough. The manager came over when I complained and said this was my fault. A comment which I found wholly unhelpful. I will not be dining here again.

Went by here as we were meeting friends on a Sunday evening and my local M&C; is great for this and nicely located. We got sat down in a nice booth. I opted for the Rib Eye - medium rare with the usual additions. One of my party opted for the half Lobster and I tried some and it was nicely grilled! We were looked after by the delightful Connie who deserves a special mention as she was nothing but patient and friendly to my party!

Service was pretty bad, asked waitress for recommendations to which she responded with ‘sorry babe, i don’t have time for this’ - the store was practically empty.

We have had a great lunch. It was a birthday treat so we pushed the boat out a bit. Food was lovely and the staff here are very attentive. This is our second visit here and we still love it. We were going to add photos of our food but we are it before we remembered

Used to come here at least once every few weeks however the last couple of times I have been the food hasn't been very nice - chips that have been left out, very limited steak sauce and overall very dry. The Chigwell Miller & Carter is much better.
