One of very few restaurants worth the Michelin star accolade. The food is simple (but with a twist) and, more importantly, absolutely delicious. The natural progression of flavours is very cleverly designed, leaving your palate clean for each dish that comes next. The pairings worked beautifully and featured an excellent range of dry, sweet, white, red and fortified numbers from all over the world including South Africa, Argentina, USA, Spain and France. The service was absolutely impeccable. Every single person we came across was friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. The food came out quickly but we were never rushed to finish a plate, the perfect balance. One important factor to mention was also the ambiance. Most fine dining restaurants might seem a little stuffy and unapproachable, not Dysart. It felt more like being invited to dinner at your friend’s house out in the country - incredibly welcoming and homey. Arguably, my favourite experience of dining in London.

A super find when we searched for a gastrobar between Roedean & London. Food was excellent, and the service was superb. I appreciated how they tried their best to nudge things along as we had expressed concern over our schedule when we made the reservation. Loved the local garden inclusions in the menu. I would absolutely recommend this space and look forward to returning one day!

Went for dinner at the Dysart with the offered tasting menu for £135pp, the food was great overall - with the main fish and meat dishes being absolutely stellar, all cooked to perfection - I think in comparison to other 1 michelin restaurants the main dishes were done extremely well in terms of cooking technique. The desserts were quite interesting aswell - the grapefruit dessert was quite interesting, and the tiramisu offered an interesting take on a classic dish. The atmosphere in the restaurant was quite nice and comfortable - being set in quite a picturesque building and nearby the river thames. The interior was nicely decorated, and each table had its own ample spacing. Where the experience fell slightly short for me was the service, I have to preface this by saying all of the front of house staff I interacted with were extremely polite and pleasant - however, the pace of courses being served was at a very leisurely pace, as well as slowing down significantly towards the end of the meal. At times it would take 15 minutes or more to clear the plates from our previous course, then more time on top of that before the next course was served. By the time we got to the dessert courses, it took about 1.5 hours for 2 dessert courses and petit fours to be served at the end of the meal. I noticed that other tables seemed to be getting their courses at a much quicker pace compared to us (at one point a couple other tables had been served 3 main courses where we had been served only 1 dessert course in the same amount of time) seemingly having more attention paid towards their tables in general. It looked like many of the other diners seemed to be returning guests/regulars at the restaurant and had more attention paid to them by the front of house staff because of this, which I think is fair but also this seemed to impact our experience quite a bit. Overall our dinner came to be about 3.5+ hours in length, a large portion of it being waiting for the next course to be served or for dishes to be cleared from the table. In summary, I think the food at the Dysart is made to an excellent standard and is well deserving of their michelin star, as well as the atmosphere being very comfortable . However I feel like service and dining experience could use some improvement.

4.4 We had heard really good reports of this restaurant and without doubt it is a beautiful setting with a relaxed, welcoming feel and excellent service. Despite some highlights we were a little underwhelmed by the food. The grapefruit gel on the Parmesan biscuits was quite overpowering and we couldn’t taste any fennel but the biscuit itself was crunchy, buttery and full flavoured. The chaud froid egg was superb, an excellent blend of taste and texture. The scallops were also a favourite, juicy scallops well cooked with a crispy, salty topping the accompanying yuzu gel added a lovely citrus note but did not overpower the dish. Aged rice was decent but the mushrooms were surprisingly tasteless. The duck dish was very disappointing, firstly the presentation was odd with all the ingredients chopped into pieces and served in a bowl, it was all very purple, and it was difficult to tell one ingredient from another, none of the ingredients really stood out, and the overall dish was very sweet. The desert had good flavour but needed a bit more texture as the stewed apricots and sorbet were very soft and the small amount of tuile, although nice, was not enough to offset the softness. The additional cheese course was ok but a bit dull. We felt that the classical music playing throughout made the atmosphere a bit formal but obviously that’s just a matter of personal preference. Overall we did enjoy our evening and we will definitely return to give it another try.

Food very good but lacking a little bit of adventurousness, the food was great but somewhat traditional and expected . Interior of modern with Tudor grilled windows , stone floors, carpets, woooden table and rattan chairs with cushions- Could be made more comfortable with back cushions. Nice light in summer- not too warm. Amouse of Parmesan shortbread with grapefruit was rather sweet- it could have been an petit four. The bread was good- focaccia with a toasted crispy top. Very nice The charred bream was average with a nice miso and kaffir consommé, that was very nice. The ox tail risotto was shredded meat in a 7 year old rice - the meat was nice, rich with a blend risotto so it worked well as a mix. The mains for Cornish turbot was excellent- nice fresh with an amazing shellfish broth that tasted almost like lobster bisque. The farm duck dish was rather average - the meat was average. Didn’t find much excitement of flavour to it. The desert of rhubarb with strawberry and hibiscus was very nice . The sesame seed tuile was too intense and clashed with the fruits. The chocolate fave was excellent. Service was very attentive. 4/5 for the food and 5/5 for the ambience and service.

We LOVED the Dysart Petersham. The restaurant was in a little cottage with the best atmosphere. We both did a tasting menu, and we were able to have one vegetarian and one non-vegetarian menu. What we found particularly impressive was that they were able to make the vegetarian menu give the same experience as the non-vegetarian. We both were getting similar flavor profiles even with different foods. I also requested to not have any runny eggs, and they were able to accommodate that, even with a poached egg in one of the dishes. Additionally, we did the wine pairing, and the pairings were incredible. I have very particular wine tastes, and even the wines I wouldn't normally drink were perfect with the food they were paired with. Obviously this place has a Michelin star, so they are clearly doing something right, but it was a fantastic experience both with the food and with the service. Our waitress and sommelier were wonderful and seemed to really care about the full experience. And when we learned that it was family-owned that was just a cherry on top. We would go back in a heartbeat.

A small niggle with service aside (only with the speed, certainly not with the courtesy), this was a wonderful evening fully deserving of its Michelin star. Wonderful & romantic ambience, tables set with a goodly space between each one, far more relaxed than such places sometimes are. Every dish a joy (do NOT skip dessert) -- unshowy, but with perfectly balanced flavours. And though it may seem strange to call £300 for two good value (in the bill's favour, we did start with excellent cocktails, went on to a nice bottle of Burgundy and finished with a dessert wine and Calvados), for what we experienced, it was. We shall return.

Okay, so I have some thoughts.. overall the dishes for the tasting menu were okay. We didn’t personally enjoy the very first item served which were the Parmesan bite style starters ( Parmesan shortbread, grapefruit, fennel ) . The portion and densities between the biscuit and topping were not complementary. The star items the were pleasant to consume were the: - ‘Chaud froid’ hen’s egg, Pedro Ximénes, maple syrup - Ox tail risotto, aged rice, bone marrow, pickled chilli I have some thoughts on the servers that came to place the cutlery. Many of them seem to be young and inexperienced. They were placing them disproportionately to how they should be placed based, so we’ve been having to constantly move the cutlery ourselves. The gentleman however was excellent at serving us and had plenty of knowledge regarding their products. We noticed that the hung framed art works were not cleaned properly and had left plenty of streaks behind. We left feeling a bit too lethargic and our stomachs had an adverse reaction which had never happened before when going to these type of restaurants. So overall, I’m not keen on their tasting menu and full service, however we may give them another go with their other type of menus. Hopefully then things would’ve improved.

The food was beautifully presented and served at a good pace. We did not try the paired wines but saw a couple doing it and they were getting lots of information on the wines and why they were paired with each course. We chose to have a nice Riesling wine which worked with a few of the courses but to be honest we enjoyed it so much it didn’t matter that it wasn’t a perfect pairing with the other courses. Reasonably priced and worth going again.

Poor dining and customer service experience. Incredibly over- priced. Unbearably rude and arrogant owner, who clearly has aspirations of being a top restauranteur and dining establishment- but who clearly needs to learn about what constitutes good customer service and building relationships with locals. Food was over priced for what it was and the owner seems to have nothing better to do than be over bearing. (Probably because the place is empty most of the time) It’s a shame as the location is lovely but you can have far better meals and enjoy a far better ambience in lesser establishments in Richmond - as clearly pointed out by other reviewers.

We booked The Dysart on the recommendation from multiple friends and it certainly lived up to expectations. We opted for the tasting menu with wine paired and it was excellent. There was nothing stuffy or over the top but instead every course was just delightful, inventive but not confusing or too complex. The stand out courses for me where the Jerusalem artichoke velouté, black truffle, hazelnut and parmesan and also, the lamb with truffled baby leeks. I also thought the staff were very friendly, attentive but not too much and we had a nice chat with the owner. This place comes across very modest but the food is really quite fantastic. The food was absolutely stunning. It was inventive, with very well balanced flavours, all dishes perfectly executed. The canapés and amuse bouche were really interesting introductions to this remarkably talented chef and helped set the tone for what was to come. The starter of Jerusalem artichoke veloute, with parmesan cream and black truffle was honestly one of those unforgettable dishes - as I write this review a week later, I am still pondering a return just to have this again. Not to say the rest of my courses did not reach the same heights - there was not a single course that missed - but this is the food you talk about years later, the reason you seek out places like this. The staff here - Barney in particular - are enthusiastic about the food, extremely courteous and attentive - without ever being overbearing. They really help create the atmosphere, which for me was warm and relaxing, perfectly complimenting the soft decor and interesting architectural features of the dining room. At £210 for 2 diners; inc. champagne, tea and a very well deserved tip, this is some of the finest food you will find anywhere in the UK at this price point. 10/10 overall.

An unbelievably lovely meal. The food, setting and service was utter perfection. Great pacing and we never felt rushed. We paid £90 each for champagne, 5 courses, a carafe of wine and service. Well worth it.

This was the must lovely experience for my friends and me. It started off by us being seated despite me making an error with the booking. I thought I'd book but somehow it wasn't confirmed however the staff were so helpful and set the 3 of us a table. Then came the food, super tasty, super fresh and unlike other menus. Homemade focaccia brilliant, my veloute was sublime delicate with depth. My taste buds were zinging from start to finish. The main course of roasted potatoes in seaweed with truffle so so tasty and the dessert truly spectacular both in looks and taste. Petit fours and tea made a perfect end to the wonderful meal. A very special dining experience.

I wanted this to be really great. We went for my birthday. I had wanted to go for years. But it was a bit snooty, the food was mediocre. The sommelier was great though. I have a case of the wine he recommended that was much cheaper than the meal

We had a delicious meal and a brilliant experience. That staff were very attentive, informative and friendly. The food was delicious and interesting (which I like in a tasting menu). There were also drinks pairing menus for soft drinks, beer and wine - which I've never seen before and greatly appreciated

Entering The Dysart Petersham, we were met by Barny who is was of the best waiters and front of house staff you could possibly imagine. He was very welcoming, enthusiastic and explained every single individual meal with precise detail. He made us feel warm and extremely comfortable for the whole duration of our dining experience. The interior of the restaurant was beyond beautiful with some of the finest decor and wood carved tables. Everything was so clean it almost felt like it was a mini art gallery with their showpiece being the piano at the back of the restaurant. It is such a picture perfect modern design but with a tranquil feeling and atmosphere. The food was phenomenal, elegant and very well thought out by the chefs. Each course was a journey for the taste buds with simple yet sophisticated flavours that worked well together. The plating was done was everything you look for in a fine dining restaurant and flavour combinations were of the highest standard. Everything from the canapés, to the focaccia bread to the main meals left you wanting more even if you were so full by the end. That’s how good the food and service was. For nonalcoholic drinkers you will not be let down by the vast options of drinks they have on their menus from soft drinks to classic mocktails. The Dyasrt Petersham is a classic example of simplicity done right from the service, to the interior and then the food. Done correctly it leaves no room for error, you can tell that they care about their own standards and the consumer’s experience. I highly recommend this place for a romantic night out or a stunning friends or family lunch or dinner.

As usual, we had an absolutely outstanding meal at Dysart. Each course of the tasting menu was wonderful and the drinks pairing was spot on. The service is always impeccable - friendly, but not intrusive. It is lovely to have a special meal at a place where everyone is clearly passionate about what they do.

A group of us, 6 foodie explorers, tried the tasting menu with the wine pairing and loved it! Food was fantastic overall (with only a couple of dishes not fully hitting the mark for a couple people in the group but still nothing was left behind!). There were also a couple of dishes that pleasantly surprised the group (e.g. chaud froid hen's egg). Service was impeccable. The family atmosphere of the restaurant and hearing that they only converted the pub to a restaurant in 2010 and the chef has stuck with them since 2011, only added to the charm. We all felt satisfied at the end and would definitely recommend and return.

This hugely talented, yet modest, chef operates an absolutely superb kitchen at this very attractive and spacious restaurant on the Surrey/London border. He won the prestigious Roux Scholarship a few years back and his food illustrates the creativity and technical dexterity of a top end chef. Each course was a surprise in a good way and so different. Star of an amazing show was the charred bream, served in the most unctuous sauce with a real Asian twist. Front of house was impeccable: thoughtful, attentive, friendly. Could not fault the team at all. Everything you would want from a truly fabulous dinner.

The bestie was in town so we booked lunch at dysart petersham for the tasting menu (£110). My friend did the wine pairing for (£65) and absolutely loved it. This was such a great lunch - we stayed for over four hours enjoying the food, the drinks and the service. The spiced pear tonic in the heat wave was just what the doctor ordered. My friend really enjoyed the pairing and also said he got a lot more wine than he was expecting as the glass portions were generous. The cocktails were well priced at a Michelin restaurant in London (c£14). The whole menu was delicious! My favourite was the peach dessert. Would recommend this place and would dine here again.
