I went to do wreath making. It was such a lovely setup everyone was warm and welcoming, it was also a good price the pub was nice and had a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back for other events and for drinks

We visited on Sunday and had an absolutely wonderful time. Even though it was busy with lots of big parties in attendance, we didn't have to wait long for food and the service was great throughout.

We had an amazing family Christmas meal here recently, for a motly crew of 22! The restaurant was really accommodating and service was excellent in terms of getting food times out together and ensuring everyone got the right dishes - food was delicious and very generous portions. The only slight downfall was paying at the end was very complicated with lots of split bills which made it quite slow and could be improved but nothing to take away from the meal.

Thank you for such a great visit! You were clearly very busy but found the time to accommodate our group of 6. The place was insane and the atmosphere was unreal…love the Christmas decs. The fish pie was delicious and cocktails did not disappoint. Cannot fault the service and am really looking forward to coming back to richmond soon, i am sure this will be my new favourite pub to visit.

Well i must say best place to visit in richmond for sunday roasts with loaded fully of vegetables and their cheesy cauliflower worth the price , was served by yashwi , she really was very attentive and kind . The atmosphere is fantastic !! Overall a good experience !

Well my experience at the Marlborough was indeed a mixed one. The service I must first start off with by the waitress was pleasant enough. We (my wife and l) found her to be courteous and attentive. The food of our choice that we both decided to order was the sausage and mash. I read up first of all online about the Marlborough being famous for its cuisine. Unfortunately I was left somewhat disappointed. No vegetables included for one. When we did ask for some kind of vegetables we were given some green peas in the smallest of containers. The mash itself was hard in places, obviously not mashed down enough. We both then decided to order pudding, thinking that might cheer us up. Apple crumble and custard was the way to go. More apple than crumble to be honest, and laced with sugar. In totally I spent £64. The price of course for me is not the issue. It became an issue because of the below average food.

Chipped pint glass for the Guinness Pieces of cork in the wine glass Measly portion of crispy squid, poorly served tepid on a plate Roast beef the same dark brown of my winter boots 🥾 Overcooked veg and some items missing Flavourless gravy And no service other than plonking down plates at the table without cutlery Not worth the £53 at all Standards have dropped dramatically with what looks like a change of manager

Wonderful lunch— the gammon and chicken pie, apple crumble were delicious! More importantly, we received such excellent service, Așhok was so attentive, courteous, and friendly. We would definitely recommend! 💌

The Malborough exceeded all our expectations! The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was gracious and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. The new management appears to make the difference. Highly recommended!

Came down to watch the animal shoe with the grandchildren and it was amazing even for the adults! We then had Sunday roast and they did not disappoint, pork was lovely and the gf fish and chips was just unreal. Staff were all so lovely. Thank you

A beautiful pub in an excellent location. The food is not bad -we stopped in for a late lunch. Well looked after. Lovely menu choices, which makes a nice change. The ambience was perfect and staff extremely helpful and friendly.

On my last trip to London, I went to the Marlborough twice. I also had their cheeseburger, which was really good too. The restaurant has a lovely vibe.

Came 2 weeks ago and had the pastry Camembert…game changer! Was so delicious would highly recommend!

We were a party of 10 on Sunday afternoon for roast. The hostess was wonderful accommodating us at an amazing table inside, and the server Katy was fantastic. Food was great and served promptly. Super thankful to them both for making our experience so memorable.

What great place! Lovely food and great service, especially from Usha and Ani who made us feel so welcome. We brought our dogs too which were so welcome and there’s a fantastic outside area to take them for walkies. I’ll definitely be back for another brilliant Sunday Roast!

Although the service was very good and our waitress Barbara was excellent my main course of salmon risotto was hugely disappointing. The risotto was great but the salmon was cold and mostly raw. I was offered a replacement which I declined.

Went here last Sunday with friends & I cannot recommend highly enough!! The staff were super friendly & efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Great food choices, I had the roast & it was delicious (very generous portions too). I will definitely be returning & have enquired about hiring for a private party as it is a fabulous venue.

We sat in the lovely garden enjoying the autumn sunshine but waited almost 45 minutes for our food. I ordered a salmon salad which arrived with lots of lettuce, a soft boiled egg a few pieces of smoked salmon and no dressing of any kind. I also ordered triple fried chips which arrived cold. I requested some oil to dress my salad but nothing arrived. When we left we asked the waitress what happened and she said she forgot. A very disappointing lunch given that they were not very busy .

Found some unwanted living beings among the salad/food. When I tried to sort, I was challenged and asked if ,because I was outside in the garden , the living beings weren't on the table and some how end up on the plate..........they brought new food but to be honest looked in every inch for something that didn't belong there and didn't enjoy it. No actual apologies from anyone!

Lovely staff, nice atmosphere - however the food wasn’t great. Burger was pretty bad and low quality despite its price - other pics of the Sunday roast look good, so may have to come back!

Decent pub food but possibly the worst service I’ve had in a while. Visited on a relatively quiet Friday evening in August for dinner as a party of 4. We had to ask to order & drinks were slow to arrive. Food was decent, good portions and pretty tasty. However after being served our food we were basically left alone for the duration of the visit with no check backs. We had to ask to order desserts after a long wait following our mains. Plates weren’t cleared at this point and we had to clear our own table and move the dirty dishes to the next empty table when our desserts arrived. They remained there until we pointed out that we moved them. We had to go to the bar to pay as we didn’t see any staff again after desserts were served. The pub didn’t appear to be short staffed. We did comment on the poor service and the desserts were removed from the bill as a gesture of goodwill. Unlikely to return unless for convenience. Dog friendly and nice interiors but that isn’t what I pay for!

We went to The Marlborough yesterday (14th September) for my partner's sister's 40th. It is a great venue in a lovely part of London and the food is very good. Unfortunately the service wasn't good at all, it took 15 minutes or so for them to take a drinks order, then another 20 or so for the order to arrive. The food order was taken a while after that, which arrived in due course. Unfortunately we seem to get forgotten about after that, despite repeatedly trying to get the staff's attention. We asked for the dessert menu which eventually were delivered, and half of the main plates/cutlery. The staff member then got distracted again and left us to it. Eventually we gave up and asked for the bill (which was quick to arrive to be fair). I think there was a big do outside which was demanding a lot of attention, maybe they were short staffed, I'm just sharing our experience on this occasion.

Great pub. Food was quite average on this visit.

We had booked a Sunday lunch at The Marlborough in Richmond and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the waiter seemed to have disappeared after seeing us and never came back to seat us or take our orders. After waiting for 10 minutes, another staff member offered us a table and finally showed us the drinks menu. When we tried to order food, we were told that there was no Sunday roast left, including veg option, chicken, pork and beef. Instead, we were offered a side plate of Cauliflower cheese as a substitute. Feeling extremely let down by the lack of options and poor service, we decided to leave. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience at The Marlborough. The lack of available menu items and the unattentive service left a bad taste in my mouth. I would not recommend this restaurant for a Sunday lunch.

I live in Australia and visit this pub every time I’m in Richmond staying with my parents. Great pub, food and garden..However, since I can remember it smells of sewage in the main bar, always has done. I was there this week with a group of 6 friends and all of us were amazed (and disgusted) by the foul smell. I’m very surprised this hasn’t been sorted as even the barman was laughing how bad the smell was. Also worth noting that while the staff aren’t rude, they certainly aren’t welcoming, which is a real shame. I’ll be heading to the White Horse in future, friendly staff and no smell.

I love it here they have a massive garden that looks stunning and the place is dog friendly which is a plus. The staff were very friendly and accommodating & the beef burger was delicious. Defo a vibe and will be seeing me again

Came here out of chance after a walk in richmond park with the family and it did not disappoint. Pop in for sunday lunch and the roast pork was just delicious. Service was great and would highly recommend the Eclat rose, so light and went reallu well with our dish on a sunny afternoon. Thank you, we cannot wait to come again.

We were sat down out our table and ordered a couple of drinks before perusing the menu and the drinks arrived and we were met with the card machine with the words you need to pay!! I said we are here for a meal and we have prebooked and the response was it’s company policy since so many people used to drink and leave without paying which I understand however it annoyed me as it’s not a way to extenuate a nice vibe and therefore a nice meal. (Hear a lot of tables around us asking the same) We ordered starters very nice as well and as we asked for our main orders we were asked if we could keep our cutlery from the starters for the main which I objected to and asked for new cutlery which was met with a look of absolute distain. This was met with it being thrown on the table no napkin either and a look of disgust. We ordered a bottle of wine to share with our meal and there were 2 of us and only 1 wine glass came after 30 mins of waiting and when asked for a 2nd glass the look was again total disgust. The glass arrived after 20 mins and literally thrown on the table. In short the food was fabulous but the service is some of he worst I have ever experienced and it ruined our day. We actually chose the venue for the service and it was so bad which was a shame as the food was very good. (We had previously hired an area for a birthday party)

This is without a shadow of a doubt is the worst pub I’ve ever been to in Richmond and never to be repeated. The food was substandard and the service inept.

Came here for Sunday lunch, service was impeccable, staff were very attentive and lovely and food was incredible! Ordered Roast Pork was sensational and followed by a mouth-watering passion fruit mousse. Would come again and highly recommend.

We love this pub. Been going here for years. The garden is fab and dog friendly but I wish parents wouldn’t use it as a playground for their screaming kids on a Saturday. The service here used to be good but yesterday we had to do it ourselves. None of the staff are identifiable so you don’t know who are staff and who are punters. Once we found some waiting staff (all hanging about inside when everyone was sitting outside) they all looked unsure, lacked confidence and clearly had no training. So we helped ourselves to menus, ordered at the bar, took our own drinks outside, cleared our own table etc. They also don’t run a tab for outside tables, so every time you order another beer or coffee or whatever, they want your money upfront. Difficult if there are a few of you. We had a lovely afternoon catching up with friends but the service was disjointed and slow.

We had booked for Christmas dinner 2022 and 2023 and the pub gave us a great space for the 20+ of us. Unfortunately the food was not up to standard and was not worth the £40+ it cost for the set menu. Drinks were also very expensive however that was as expected. Both years I was very disappointed with the food.

We had a table booked for 6pm and on arrival we were abruptly told it had been a busy day and they’d ran out of green veg for the roast dinner. Service behind the bar was a little inattentive. Food was nice enough but felt like it was the left overs from the lunch service. Yorkshire puddings were flat and soggy and the beef seemed overcooked compared to photos I’d seen online. Our first visit to Richmond and I’d chosen this pub especially, so overall it was disappointing to not have the same experience as the majority of glowing reviews. We did not feel it was representative of how the pub is portrayed on their website or the area. However, the lady who served our food was very nice, and the wine menu had a great variety.
