The best restaurants serving British food in Lewisham London

Very friendly staff, lots of tables, extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Their coffee is of a standard of far posher and more expensive places. I love this cafe.

Lovely welcome and friendly staff throughout our short stay of two nights; great quiet room. Perfectly located in the super area of Hither Green.

food was just about warm. Fish was not the quality I would expect from a takeaway.

The Thai kitchen here is great. Well priced and very tasty.

Went in to get lunch and the service felt rushed, the place smelt like cigarette smoke and a guy behind the counter was very pushy towards customers, the burger I had tasted like plastic and didn’t feel edible, the chips were barley ok as well as they tasted like oil, only good thing out of the meal was the coke drinks we had, upon going to the bathroom the toilet looked like a dump and felt like it hadn’t been cleaned or maintained at all and the seat was disgusting, I would not recommend this place at all to anyone unless you like bad food, bad service, and bad amenities and cigarette smoke while you eat

Me encanta este lugar y creo que es un gran activo para Forest Hill. La última noche, ya que estaba ocupada, que mencionó, hizo que el servicio y el tiempo de espera para la comida lenta. Best coffee in Brockley! Bit of an institution.

Breakfast bagel was amazing. Great music and trendy decor. They allow dogs too which is a massive bonus to us. Always looking for good spots around here as our daughter lives nearby. This place is a gem and we’ll be back on our next London trip

Nice pub and garden. However, the roast has become so disappointing. It used to be very good, we have given it several chances as it is local to us, we like the vibe of the pub and really wanted it to be our go to for a Sunday roast. However, the food and the service lets it down immeasurably, and given that it is not the cheapest, we wont be having a roast here again. Beef is always very overdone and flavourless (have had to send it back previously as it was very tough), potatoes large and solid undercooked flavourless, yorkshire burnt and just tasted oily. Portions small. Sauces served in disposable paper ramekins. Service is always quite lazy, no check backs, no cutlery/have to go to the bar to get a drink as you'll wait for ages etc. The staff don't seem to care, no real hospitality. A real shame as this used to be a gem.

chicken was dry.. but usually good I'm surprised

A little disappointed that dessert came late at the point when we were about to leave (we did say we had very little time). We were charged for it. Food was good and the venue and ambiance are great.

We stopped and had a Kim chi and cheese toastie and coffee for breakfast, it was amazingly good, really unusual but made with love. We then brought some veg rolls and spinach and ricotta pastries, these looked good too

Pleasant ambience. Enjoyed 'Rustic' decor even though it might be a bit forced. Enjoyed the coffee and the food looked very good, though I didn't try it. Service was very relaxed... Hard to get attention, but preferable to the other extreme and I know it's a tough job sometimes.
