We went here on Saturday and it give me food poisoning

I have been visiting once in a while for the last 8 years. Menu is exactly the same and each time the flavours are the same. ✅ Good value for what you pay.

Too many beggars had to leave as staff member became surly female member gave black male beggar food a critised me for objecting. This remark to me was upsetting l do not to have beggar's in your shop being given free food as he is a regular. Lowers the tone of your fish shop. Action required to sort this out. .

I’ve been coming here for many years - 20yrs plus! There were other chains of something fishy but sadly closed down apart from this one. I have to say fish is always fresh in here, the chips are always light golden and nice too! Although sometimes when I came in the staff look demotivated and don’t speak much but you can see they work hard. The tables are mostly clean when seated inside but if not the staff are always ready to clean the table. When it comes to portion and prices I do believe this could be a little larger than what it is but all in all I think it’s one of the best chippys in the area.

Customers seemed more interested in arguing or being rude to each other than eating or ordering. A few racist comments about other customers as I stood waiting for my fish and chips. It looks like it could be a home for down and outs, but the £9 plus for a small fish and chips tells you it isn't. To be fair the small fish and chips wasn't that small. Sadly, it wasn't that edible either, with the fish, nominally cod, flavour free except for a vague generic fishy quality totally covered by the non-brewed condiment. I left most of the meal.

I used to come here a lot when I was a teenager after shopping at Lewisham shopping centre and the high street. I haven't been here in years as I do not shop much at Lewisham like I used to. My parents dined here yesterday and mum said how her pies and mash was not hot and how there was not much meat in the pies. She said maybe it was due to the fact that the restaurant was near closing time? My take away order however I found the pies were filled with a lot of mince meat. The mash was nice and fluffy and the liquor tasted nice too! Also we found the meals for pies and mash quite pricey as it was priced at £10 per person! 0.0

Used to enjoy the fish/chips, however, in later months quality seems to have gone down whilst prices ( unsurprisingly) have increased, now looking elsewhere for Friday treats.

If you like fish and chips you can’t go wrong here and I’m fussy because most chip shops are hit and miss but this place is fantastic chips are lovely always cooked nicely usually only get cod and chips but cod is perfectly cooked and batter lovely and crispy just like how it should be and this is all at at a decent not rip off price like other so called trying to be up market chip shops you will find with there fancy oils and horrible batter I’d definitely recommend this place if you fancy fish and chips,just how fish and chip should be nice chips and nice battered fish

Food was good and reasonably priced, one time I my chips were very soggy and undercooked but overall really good.

Walthamstow lost its pie & mash shop years ago, everyone has a favourite & that was mine, but the made on site pies are excellent here. I’ve found my new favourite just a shame it’s 15 miles or a 90 minute public transport journey.

Been coming here for years. I don't think much of there sausage in batter but chips are perfect, the fish is top quality and they have 1 of the best saveloy in London.

been coming here since my teens in the 80s and so pleased they're still open. good to see guy who owns it still working away and I love their pie mash and liquor. i live in Spain now so whenever I am in the country, i come here or another establishment to have pie and mash. this place is good as they do fish and chips too. always busy and staff always welcoming and friendly. totally recommend.

Food is lovely but the customer service is shocking! not the friendliest and when problems arise they don’t deal in a professional way and I’ve seen customers leave because they have been rudely told there is no lemon! It’s a shame the food is always lovely but the staff are off putting and not very accomplished

Best fish and chips in Lewisham

Have eaten in or had takeout here over the years and always found the fish and chips excellent. Fresh fish, perfectly cooked and the tastiest chips. Good to see the change to cardboard takeout boxes. I would rate Something Fishy as the best in Lewisham for real fish and chips

Pie mash not like it used to be, pie just normal pastry

Busy place order two regular fish’s and chips. Had to wait 15 minutes for the dinner to arrive but well worth the wait. The fish was one of the best I’ve tasted.

I'm always looking for somewhere to eat breakfast when away from home, but I'd never have thought of a fish-and-chip shop. This one listed breakfasts outside, so I stepped in. Frying's frying, after all. No other customers; but that didn't help me get served. A bulky man in a white hat and coat, 50s, English, was at the counter but half leaning away from me, reading something. He knew I was there but hung me out to dry for an uncomfortably long time before suddenly turning to me as if I'd taken him by surprise. Meanwhile, a lady was glazing pies in the background. She didn't acknowledge me either: maybe her job was just doing pies. To be fair, I'm impressed Something Fishy not only operate as a classic fish-and-chip shop but also do English breakfasts and pie and mash. Three classic British traditional meals right there. Maybe more chippies should diversify instead of going out of business? Makes sense to sell food all day rather than in short opening windows. So good luck to Something Fishy--the pies looked authentic, too. I sat down in the spacious, attractive dining area and began a decent cup of tea. To my surprise, after the unpromising obtuseness of the geezer who took my order, the breakfast which appeared was decent. Better than at nearby Cafe Inn or Lara Cafe by some distance. Two golden eggs, perfectly runny; two tasty big rashers of bacon; baked beans; and chips. (Odd having chips for breakfast, but they're close enough to sauteed potatoes.) After a bad start, I left very happy.

I could do with Something Fishy right now. This is the best Fish & Chip Shop I have been to in London. The staff are friendly, the service is excellent; it is worth the 52-minute drive from Croydon because the food is not overly priced. En-route!

Use to come here when I lived nearby. Hadn’t been for over two years. Recently came here for a bite to eat whilst attending an event and nothing has changed. I would argue that this is one of the best fish and chip shops in London. I hope I can go more often

Great place for a quick bite on the go when shopping at Lewisham market. The staff were friendly and inviting, and some of the patrons were nonagenarian who seemed to be regulars there.

Love it, last visited well over 20 years ago and unlike most of Lewisham it has hardly changed.

The Best F & Chip Shop in the whole of the South East of London. Nice seating as well.

I vote this as the best fried cod in London the batter stays chrisp to the last bite and the fish is always fresh and tasty, plus they have a large and veried menu. and the place is always busy so a good sign

The company name looks bad on a banking statement, it made me laugh the most I had done in the last few years (banks always asking for suspect transactions etc). Trust me, you'll never find a more honest place to eat (outstanding!), fast, hot. great service. If you are lucky enough to have had 'Something Fishy' on your bank statement, you've enjoyed a truly a great value meal, piping hot, great value, and wonderfully serviced - Keep it Up!!!

Food quality here is excellent at the Lewisham store and I have to say that I don't live in the area, but have used three times whilst visiting family. Sadly, I feel that the toilet facility needs attention as it was missing the seat and looking unsightly, and has been for at least two weeks!

Took my friend here while he was in holiday, I was in the bank,.he doesn't speak much English but the staff helped him. He choose us 2 large cod and chips and freshly cooked with skin on. I've run a chip ship for 10years and the cod was fantastic couldn't fault it, the chips to perfection and you could tell the oil had been changed freshly, think the prices were reasonable on the food but may want to consider the price of water. Great food.

It is the best eating place in Lewisham,and judging by the amount of customers they have it seems I'm not the only one who thinks so. The food is fresh and tastes great the staff are polite and quick to serve, its very bright and clean. I will continue to eat there whenever I'm shopping in Lewisham.

Love something fishy, been coming since i was a baby and its never changed. Same friendly service, same locals, same decor, menu and prices have only gone up minmally over 20 years with inflation. Very reasonable prices, for good hearty portion. Pie and mash tasty and traditional and the fish and chips is great too. Proper British grub, and a good affordable london fish n chips. LOVE IT, would recommend. Always eat here after doing my shopping

Not bad had pie and mash yum yum

I love the catchy name of this place so decided to give it a visit. It was impressive they made their own pie mash with liquor to cater for PML fans. The chips were fantastic, almost 10/10 but 9/10 because the oil had some funny taste to it. As for the pie, the pastry could have been better and the liquor could have done wiht more flavour. Will return for chips and they offer a good range of sauces.

Cheap and cheerful and the food is excellent. One of the few local places left that sells pie and mash (and liquor) with stewed and jellied eels also available. They make a good cuppa too.

Myself and my husband take our daughter here and we love it! Fish is always fresh (not grey) chips and lovely and the portions are really good too. Reasonably priced as well.
