I recently visited Kingston and was in the mood for fish and chips. This place initially looked promising, but unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When I returned to my hotel with the food, it was cold and tasted as though it had been reheated multiple times. The quality was well below expectations. I would not recommend this establishment—it’s best to look elsewhere.

Awful Sunday roast on 4th May I must say probably is the worst Sunday roast I've ever had so far. The lamb, the t-bone were extremely terrible, smelly, uncooked/ roasted, more like boiled taste, potatoes were uncooked, and Yorkshire pudding was dry and tasteless. Glasses were dirty, the water was rotten smelly etc. Service was okay, but not very clear. Location is great, but food is not. Sorry but I would not recommend anyone for eating out there!

A high-demand, small coffee place in the heart of the centre, which serves really good coffee. The lime coconut and carrot cake was delish - light, not-too-sweet & delightful. The Tzatziki Poached Eggs were perfect. Just if I have to pick up on something the Focaccia bread was a tad-more toasted, so I had to bite into it when it wasn’t hot anymore. The price is a bit on the higher side but good food is worth it.

Food ok as long as you stick to a sandwich as the breakfast is awful. Also when I walked in on a Sunday morning at 10 o clock the staff member looked at me like i had two heads and when I asked her were they ready she replied bluntly “shop only” referring to the stale croissants etc. in packets. I have been at Kingston hospital all week and must have been in there at least 8/9 times and that’s how you get treated. I will never visit this cafe again.

Woodies came highly recommended by a friend but it soon became apparent that I was in for a terrible disappointment. Despite the noise from people shouting over each other being almost unbearable I did stay for fish & chips. A small thin piece of hadock was served up with lukewarm chips & peas which must have been lying about for some time. My partner ordered pork but ate little of it as the taste was like wood. My experience suggests that Woodies is not even worth a rating of one circle & I certainly will not return.

If you love the steamed-up windows of a traditional chippy on a cold evening, and a paper wrapper brimming with tasty chips, Cod upon Thames is for you. The staff are friendly and chatty, the fish is good, the chips are even better (or should that been even batter?), and it’s only the stark décor and brutalist interior that denies this little local treasure the full star rating. Maybe it's the oil, or the way they cut them, but the chips are plump and flavoursome. Burnished metal walls make it feel like you’re in a shipping container, and the counter is so high it’s only possible to glimpse the staff. But let’s focus on the food. It’s the usual mixture of bangers (some in batter), chicken, burgers and fish ‘n’ chips. Standard fish and chips is under seven quid, pies are £2.40, and you can get chip butties (£1.60), cheesy chips for £3 and standard chips – a good-sized portion – for £1.80. Extras include onion rings, mushy peas and baked beans, and Cod upon Thames also does pineapple fritters and curry sauce. Soft drinks are housed in a large fridge at the far end.

I am a regular customer of this place... Sadly, today I've had a bad experience. I was trying to order a beer and I asked this girl (ISABEL) but she ignored me, when I called her she saw me, but she even didn't say hi. No... she was not busy, at the time the bar was not busy, and she was just walking around. I don't know the recruitment process and training, but I think they should focus on the good service also.

We were passing by and saw that the guys have a fresh chicken doner ready to be cut. I popped in and asked for two wraps with first cut of fresh chicked doner. Guy said its fine, he will do it. There was few other customers and I saw that the guys who worked there had some chicken from previous skewer. I've asked the guy again to make 2 wraps with fresh cut. He said fine. After my wraps were done I saw that one of two guys who worked there started cutting the first cut from fresh chicken. I asked him third time if he made my wraps with fresh, first cut chicken and he confirmed that he did. Obviously, when I sat down to eat the wraps with my daughter, we discovered that it was an old chicken and not the first cut I've asked. I went to the counter and showed the guy that it was not what I have asked. Instead of saying sorry when he was caught lying, he started acting like an idiot! Started shouting to give the wraps back, nearly through the money at me and tried to put the blame on my like I don't know what I want! Absolutelly appaling behaviour. I will never go back there after being treated like this!

Lots of character in this pub - I love the vibe of the clientele and the vibe. However, the bartender couldn’t have been more disinterested in service. I politely asked if I could taste a beer. Her sighs were exasperating after my request and she reluctantly slammed glass on the counter. I felt like I was asking for a kidney donation. I brushed it off and thanked her profusely after my order, with a smile. Came back later for another round and it was even worse. At best, she was having a bad night but there are still basic ways of treating customers so they don’t feel like intruders.
