The best restaurants serving British food in City of London, Westminster London

A lovely place, great service, lovely atmosphere and superb food. Such a relaxed feel, great lighting, and the food surprised us on just how good it was, from an excellent mac & cheese, duck breast with a delightful and extremely tasty little duck pie and ab excellent local cheese board.

Empezó muy prometedor. Bonito pub abajo, lindo restaurante arriba. Cuando hicimos nuestra reserva unos días antes, tienen un cargo de £ 20 por persona en su tarjeta para asegurar su mesa. Más sobre eso después. Cuando vinimos a cenar unos días después, nos sentamos rápidamente. Nuestra primera camarera era muy amable, pero aparentemente nos dio dos cartas de vinos en lugar de una carta de vinos y una carta de bebidas. Cuando le preguntamos a otra camarera, ella dijo abruptamente que estaba en la segunda lista. Los cuatro de nuestro grupo miraron y dijeron que era la misma carta de vinos. Ella no nos creyó y dijo gruñonamente “es el segundo” y se fue. Nuestra primera camarera volvió, miró, y se disculpó por el error y nos trajo una lista de bebidas. Sheesh. Pedimos nuestras pintas, y pescado con papas fritas por todas partes. El pescado era bastante bueno, no tan bueno como algunos otros lugares que probamos, pero nos gustó. Las pintas estaban bien servidas, y las tartas del tratado que tuvimos eran agradables. Ahora volvamos a la reserva de mantener en nuestras tarjetas. Uno hubiera supuesto que el cargo sería revertido o aceptado. Fuera de nuestra factura final. Nada de eso sucedió. Cuando comprobamos nuestros cargos de CC después de regresar del viaje, Coach Makers tenía un cargo aleatorio de £ 35 en nuestra tarjeta desde el día que hicimos la reserva. Sinceramente, me estoy cansando de tener que verificar cada cosa cuando salimos a Londres. Esta fue una de las tres veces que cenamos fuera (restaurantes dificultosos) y teníamos cargos aleatorios o platos extra en nuestra factura con la carga de nosotros para asegurarnos de que es correcto. Además, tienen un cargo por propina del 15% y un cargo por Granja de Árboles agregado a la factura automáticamente. Dicen que es discrecional, pero de nuevo, es responsabilidad del cliente decir algo. No es exactamente una experiencia gastronómica divertida y relajante.

The food was nice. The service was very considered. The coffee is truly awful. Change the beans/machine or whatever the problem is. It's very expensive at 4.25 an espresso which makes it even more disappointing that it's so rank!

Gran lugar para una noche de relax. El servicio fue muy bueno. Valentino que era el camarero tenía una gran energía y era muy positivo y tenía un buen rollo.

We were excited by the concept and booked a dinner for 6. The steak dish was “sold out” at 6pm as was the endive salad!! With a restricted size menu and cheese based theme we were forced to order multiples of the same dishes. A pity, as the food was good just restricted in options and some meat based choices other than a charcuterie option is needed, or at least 5 other main course options. The food saved this from being a single star experience, the wait staff experience was very poor. Almost unacceptable to charge the service fee….

Reservamos esto en el último minuto. Estábamos buscando un lugar para tener una comida de cumpleaños sofisticado, pero a media tarde, ya que teníamos un año de edad con nosotros. Éramos cinco, incluyendo al bebé. El personal no podría haber sido más servicial y amable e incluso saludó y sonrió al bebé constantemente durante todo el tiempo. El servicio era impecable y la comida era deliciosa. Los cócteles también eran fantásticos. La decoración es muy agradable y resultó ser el lugar ideal para ir para un almuerzo de cumpleaños muy tarde / cena de cumpleaños muy temprano.

El lugar más hermoso, mágico! El ambiente, la comida y el servicio eran de primera clase! Mi lugar favorito para comer en Londres. Gracias por una noche maravillosa. También vine hace dos semanas por primera vez para almorzar con mi marido - un ambiente relajado encantador por el día.

Disappointing, given its reputation and previously good experience. Staff were attentive (despite not opening the door for you as expected and done in similar establishments) and the noise level was fairly low. Foodwise rather poor. The lamb was chewy (mature lamb?), the cod was not cod, it had a funny taste and smell (we were assured it was cod-it was not-and fresh). We had to send it back. The set menu was good for the price but the braised ox cheek was rather too salty. The parsnip & carrot soup was very good as was the beef tartare; the chocolate dessert was excellent, the best of the lot. Wine is upward of £65; bread consisted of two anaemic white rolls and two brown slices; no imagination there. Rather a lot to pay (£295) for a set menu, two starters, two mains and one dessert and a £69 bottle of wine (a 300+% mark up is quite a lot for wine.) And it was a birthday celebration...Should we have gone to Scott's (noisy) around the corner?

The chips was very nice and hot it was perfect. The Fish was nice too and hot prefect, only thing I didn't understand that the Cod fishi is usually not flat the fish called plaice is. Other then that it was a lovely meal.

Had a lovely meal here pre-theatre. We had Hugo Spritz’s to drink, the calamari and the sashimi starters, halibut and moules mariniere mains. Lovely friendly and attentive staff, lovely people at adjoining seats to chat with, great food - quality ingredients and well cooked. Would definitely eat here again!

Had a great day. Micheal was so welcoming and professional made our experience great. The decoration was amazing ended up staying for 4 hours

The food was excellent, and the presentation was of the highest standard.All around a great experience, still one of my favourite locations.most recommendable.

Can be noisey, but a good atmosphere. Drinks are not cheap

Very decent meal and nice cocktails in a nice atmosphere and quick service with a smile from Honor :) Our flatbread was forgotten and it was dealt with efficiently. Overall would recommend!
