The best restaurants serving British food in London

A lovely pub in the heart of London. Really good atmosphere and really friendly bar staff. The food was good and it wasn't too expensive, considering it's location. Lots of different seating areas, with a downstairs bar too. I look forward to revisiting this pub on a regular basis... 😁💥🏆

Abbiamo cenato in questo locale qualche giorno fa , locale carinissimo e situato in maniera fantastica lungo Tower bridge , ma qualitativamente niente di eccelso , fish and chips inferiore rispetto a molti pub meno famosi della zona , ripeto posto bello ma cibo per niente eccelso

We booked an outside table as they have heaters but they had no gas in either of them. This means that when one ran out nobody had bothered to replace it. At least the waiter tried the second one which we were grateful for but this place is not well run. Two things were missing from the very small children’s menu. We put out orders in and then all had to wait over an hour for our food. We had asked for some nibbles but nothing came. We eventually ordered some chips as there was nothing else to eat. Then the food arrived came and was almost inedible. The cauliflower Wellington had a soggy piece of pastry on it and was served with an undercooked chunk of cabbage. The gauchujong tofu was a poorly plated mess, and the tofu was rubbery. The arancini balls were just not tasty. The waiter asked if the food was ok within minutes of it coming and we said yes but hadn’t really had a chance to eat much of it by then and we were so grateful to get any food as were so hungry. The quality of the food was very poor for the price we paid. The staff seemed to be doing what they could but would often disappear and we had to go in to get service several times. Just don’t book this place and definitely not outside.

We booked for afternoon tea, for two. Lovely service. Nice atmosphere, warm. All served nicely. Little sandwiches, scones, mini rolls and small cakes. Plenty for two. The scones were warm but a little hard. Everything else was really good. We weren't rushed at all. Would definitely return.

It's not often you come across such dedicated and caring service, and Naresh truly went above and beyond to make our visit memorable. If you dine at Giraffe, I highly recommend asking for Naresh – he'll make your meal exceptional!

Absolutamente terrible experiencia esta noche. Reservado un 7 : Mesa de las 15 pm hace unas 2 semanas y llegué para escuchar que no había mesa disponible pero que podíamos sentarnos en las mesas del vestíbulo con calentadores. Conocer a 2 amigos de mucho tiempo y solo nos reunimos una o dos veces al año y tenemos que viajar a Londres para hacer eso. Tomamos esta opción de mesa exterior y pedimos bebidas, pero muy rápido nos enfriamos lo suficiente como para necesitar nuestros abrigos puestos. Veinte minutos después fui a preguntar si podíamos tomar nuestras bebidas. Todos estábamos bastante sedientos a estas alturas, incluso de agua, porque nuestros viajes habían sido bastante largos. Esperamos otros 10 minutos antes de tener que volver y pedir de nuevo nuestras bebidas. Sally era la persona con la que hablamos y ella era muy disculpado y tan amable, que pudimos ver que el personal estaba bajo una presión tremenda. Buscamos otros restaurantes locales para ver si podíamos movernos, pero por supuesto, dada la época del año, simplemente no había. Después de unos 30 - 45 minutos habíamos conseguido bebidas, pedido comida y conseguimos una mesa interior. La comida era comestible, pero realmente tan promedio mi hijo de 11 años podría haber hecho mejor. Todos pedimos el menú de 3 platos. La tostada bruschetta estaba muy quemada y básicamente debería haberse llamado tostada quemada con tomates. El pan de ajo estaba frío y el queso poco cocido y flácido. Los mini arancini eran los mejores y eran 6 / 10. Mi amiga Ravioli era turgente y tan poco atractiva que rumiaba sobre si la salsa delgada pero ligeramente grumosa podría haber sido eyaculada. Tenía la milanesa de pollo, mejor descrita como un nugget de pollo grande en una bolsa Tesco de hojas mezcladas sin aderezo. Las porciones eran pequeñas, así que todos estábamos listos para el postre. Lamentablemente habíamos terminado nuestro vino y agua de mesa y tuvimos que pedir algún servicio, esto fue tal vez unos 20 minutos después de terminar la última gota. Preguntamos entonces dónde estaban los sanitarios solo para que nos dijeran que solo había un inodoro en funcionamiento y había que hacer cola de hombres y mujeres para usarlo (esto era toda una cola) , el área alrededor del inodoro estaba sucia y llena de basura (ver fotos) . Mientras tanto, cristales rotos salieron de la nada y golpearon a mis amigos pies y abrigo debajo de la mesa, pero no pudimos ver o encontrar la fuente y una brisa fría del vestíbulo me mantuvo lo suficientemente agradable y fresco como para necesitar mi bufanda en mi espalda en el restaurante. Con todo, el ritmo de nuestras reuniones, que se celebraban muy poco a menudo, se rompió, todos nos fuimos a casa inmediatamente después y, aunque no solíamos quejarnos, nos afligió mucho pagar por ello. Esto fue casi lo más lejos de una experiencia gastronómica italiana que se puede obtener y evitaría a toda costa. I have been countless times to Wetherspoons and really appreciate the quality of the service and the affordable nature of the chain. However, in recent times the downsizing of foods is becoming ridiculous. Please be honest and increase the price of food options rather than treating customers like idiots and shrinking the portion sizes. I recently ordered a burger with chips and counted 12 chips. I also recently ordered the pasta Alfredo and so small was it that I had to order a second portion otherwise I would have gone home feeling like I hadn’t eaten. Disappointing as Wetherspoons has traditionally felt like an honest company

I don't get back to the UK often, so when I'm here ai like to reacquaint myself with UK ales. Choice of places to get a beer in Stansted is limited, so I overcame my inner qualms & ordered 2 pints of Ghost Ship from Wetherspoons. It's a beer I used to know well. As is usually the case with Wetherspoons, the beer was past it's best, a wine-like vinegary sourness present - nit fully "off", but "on the turn". Exactly the reason that I'd been telling my partner I avoid Wetherspoons.
