Great cocktails and amazing service. Popped in for a beer and ended up having a cocktail with my work colleagues.

Had a great time and breakfast,very professional staff. We planning to come back at soon as we come back to London and cellebrate by birthday.

We came here for lunch after a meeting, and even though they were quite busy, they managed to accommodate us and we had a very nice meal in less than an hour

Booked in for breakfast the other day. Really good service and tasty breakfast bowl. Great value for a breakfast.

Reserved an area for work drinks, Connor was amazing! Super attentive to everything we needed, it was quite a busy night but he was sure to make time for our group. Drinks and food were flowing - everyone had a great time!

Its a great place to be with friends for a cocktail or meal after hours. Staff is very kind and ready to help. Passion Fruit Martini is amazing!

Comically bad . Arrived to staff who were ‘ busy ‘ doing something on a screen. No greeting, left to hang around for 10 minutes. Had a Cobb salad, with extra chicken . No dressing. Advertised blue cheese was feta, dry and tasteless . The chicken was unseasoned, dry and tasted faintly of bleach. Inedible. No comment made when the plate was taken away. Coffee was unbelievably bad. Nice loos tho’. What are they thinking !?

We went for a group meal, I had the fish and chips which I wrongly thought couldn't be ruined, I was totally wrong the fish batter was soggy, chips were frozen chips, mushy peas were insipid. How can you spoil chips these were hard, serve cool and on cold plates. It was clearly one of the worse meals I have ever had, on talking with others in the group later we were all of the same feeling and will not return. I hate being negative about any place I visit but this poor review was needed.

Visited twice for lunches with colleagues - First time in Sept 2021 seated outside. Lovely fish finger sandwich. Online order system missing desserts. Gave up after a while. Visited again last month. Host was friendly and recommended the Christmas Pork Chop special (over the regular one). It was a fantastic choice. Service was good especially given more limited time over lunch. Interior design is excellent. Very modern. Will definitely be back again and again.

Went for work drinks here one evening. Had an absolutely lovely time. The standout was the service- Connor was absolutely fantastic. Super attentive and offering great nibble and drink suggestions- he really made our evening and we’ll definitely be back.

Se we now have App ordering so no mistakes.....really! 2 x seared tuna and a bottle if wine and tap water. Not a difficult order but well...the wine arrived and was good. No water despite the waiter saying I have not forgotten. 1 tuna turned up and looked good, said to the waiter we were expecting another. He walked off and 5 mins later nothing so went to ask about it and the water. A few minutes later a piece of overcooked and very small tuna arrived. On complaining I was told they are all pre cut and the same size (not true). No apology and as you have to pay before you eat No option to withhold service or anything. In these times restaurants should be bending over to please but here they appear not to care...perhaps as the only place locally open they think they have a captive audience but watch this space and see what happens when more opens up. So not impressed...trying to support a local and really not getting anything back apart from small, late and overcooked tuna.

Lovely place and great deco. With a nice and extensive range of wines, able to pair with any dish. Was serve by Grace, who was friendly and very easy to talk to, made lunch relaxing. Would 100% recommend.

Went here in the evening on a work quiz. At half time some food came out; it was meant to be hot, but wasn’t. The little slider rolls were totally stale, like bullets, and it was impossible to tell what the filling was. It was tasteless. Everything else had met the deep fat fryer, including some soggy onion rings. Then I asked for a bottle of fizz that was on the wine list, they didn’t have it, “would I like a bottle of Laurent Perrier instead?” No I wouldn’t. It costs twice as much as the bottle I want. I said I’ll have that red wine on the list, please. “Sorry”, came the reply, “we haven’t that either”. The quiz was great, and our hosts looked after us beautifully. But the food and kerfuffle at the bar soured the evening a little. As far as my experience is concerned, if you’re looking for somewhere good to eat in the area, try elsewhere.

We visited The Refinery for a meal and drinks one evening, we were served by Grace who helped us decide on what food and drinks to pick. Food and drinks came out quickly and were great! We will definitely be returning!

Recently held a company event here, which was also my first time at The Refinery. I host weekly happy hours and larger quarterly food/drinks and this event was exceptional and executed flawlessly. What made it so great? Delicious mix of food with several unique twists on classic dishes. I could eat the halloumi all night and will be back at lunch just for that! The drinks made at the bar were high quality and excellent recommendations on spirits we hadn’t tried before. What made it exceptional? Charlotte. Simply Charlotte. Within every business the things that set it apart from competition is always the people and Charlotte was exceptional. She kept our large group smiling and ensuring we had a great time - taking care of ever facet of our event and communicating with me throughout to keep me updated on our spend, but most importantly taking care of the people. Highly attentive, very professional and a lot of fun to partner with. We change our venues regular and don’t repeat, but I would book another event at The Refinery because Charlotte truly differentiated the night for us. Thank you, Charlotte! Highly recommend The Refinery, especially if Charlotte is involved at some level - she’ll ensure everything is perfect. Thanks again!

Been here a few times since it opened and have never really been able to fault the food, but it isn’t anything that has blown me away. On this occasion work friends and I were in and out comfortably within an hour as the service was very efficient. You pay a reasonable price for what you get. One of my friends was told that their meal came with chips but then it didn’t, but thankfully without creating a scene they were given the chips to go with their meal without an additional charge.

Visited the refinery on a Wednesday lunchtime on the recommendation of a friend. I was working and on my own, and the staff made sure I had a nice table away from the bustle of the main restaurant (and out of the sun so I could see my laptop screen!) and I enjoyed iced coffee and halloumi fries. Excellent service, nice vibe, reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit, and not an intimidating place to eat alone (as I find some bars in London to be).

Great place for post-work drinks. Friendly and service-oriented bar staff, even with (or in spite of) the very busy Thursday night crush. Shout out to Camille who made a great “perfect” Manhattan and really went the extra mile.

El personal estaba disponible y el lado derecho de atento toda la noche. Almorzamos aquí. La comida era buena, bien preparada y bastante buena relación calidad-precio, teniendo en cuenta la ubicación central de Londres. El servicio era excelente y el lugar (incluidos los baños) estaba limpio y ordenado.Gran lugar para observar a la gente, ya que el distrito legal se ocupa de sus asuntos.

I visited with my family on Saturday 5th July, the restaurant was packed and I was worried that we wouldn't get a table but the manager found us a table and despite it being very busy the staff were calm very helpful and we did not have to wait as long as we expected for our food. The food was great served hot and well presented. Very tasty and being squeezed in without a booking was greatly appreciated.

Went for breakfast meeting out of the office from 8am; place was empty with only 2 other customers. After this experience easy to see why they're empty whilst Natural Kitchen opposite is full. Specifically:

Stumbled upon this bar when I was a little lost in the area.

Decidimos tomar algo de cenar después del trabajo. Después de sugerir a Balls Brothers, Shake Shack o Homeslice cerca, ellos sugirieron The Refinery y dijeron que tenían un buen pato crujiente allí. En primer lugar, tuvimos que conseguir nuestros propios menús de comida del bar, esperamos una eternidad para que nos atendieran. El primer plato vino con los platos principales y ambos pidiendo pato crujiente fue realmente, muy decepcionante (he tenido mucho mejor pato de un camión de comida). Pedimos chips de vaquero para compartir, que eran miel, ajo y chili rociados, en realidad era solo una salsa BBQ barata, ni siquiera los terminamos, la persona con la que estaba no quería comer más del pato y me esforcé para terminar el mio En total, 55 para la comida terrible y el servicio terrible

After looking for a private hire for our work social, we went with The Refinery and we were not disappointed.

Tuvimos una noche de lunes muy agradable en The Refinery New Street Square con comida deliciosa y un servicio excelente y muy amable de parte de Stef y todo el equipo.

It was ok as a place to catch up with business colleagues over lunch. Charcuterie Board wasn’t bad and service was adequate.

Fui a almorzar con un colega el martes. La comida estaba bien, pero el servicio era realmente terrible en cada etapa, aunque el lugar no estaba tan ocupado. Tuvimos que pedir varias veces para ordenar, para los cubiertos, para nuestras bebidas, para la factura. . . . El estándar general fue muy por debajo del otro restaurante de refinería que he estado. ¡Vamos chicos!

Trabajamos para Deloitte en América, y estuvimos en Londres unos días, así que decidimos almorzar en la refinería. Ya que está cerca de la oficina de Deloitte y recomendado por nuestros colegas. El personal era muy amable, desde la puerta hasta la mesa, el servicio rápido, a pesar de que estaban muy ocupados. Teníamos pescado y papas fritas y el Burguer Wagyu, que era increíble. Le pregunté si podía hacerlo raro, pero la camarera explicó que debido a las licencias de la Ciudad de Londres, no podían hacerlo menos de lo bien hecho. A pesar de eso, todavía estaba muy sabroso. No te vayas por las malas críticas que la gente de la ciudad deja. son muy exigentes, pero no quieren pagar por ello.

Trabajamos al otro lado de la carretera y siempre vamos a la Refinería, ya sea para el almuerzo o una bebida fresca. El personal siempre es perfecto, recordando nuestras preferencias y todos muy amables. El menú puede variar un poco, pero entiendo que no es una decisión de ellos, ya que es una cadena, pero es de buena calidad y sabroso.

Great service when I ordered my takeaway lunch but it seems the food (possibly the falafels) had gone off as I threw up soon after eating. I didn’t eat anything else after lunch so nothing else could have caused it.

Peor comida familiar que he experimentado. Servicio lento, órdenes incorrectas, comida mala y fuera absurdamente sólo los elementos del menú 'revelaron después de haberlo pedido. Had lunch at The Refinery yesterday. At 1pm they said they had no beef burgers so we ordered chicken burger instead. I asked for no mayo but it arrived with mayo. They changed the burger but the chips were stone cold. Colleague had duck salad which was soggy and tasteless. Staff were friendly, shame about the food.

It was a simple order for an early lunch - 2 burgers and a crispy duck salad. They had run out of burgers at 1 o'clock on a Thursday lunch...........how??!!! The duck salad was mostly pac choi and bean sprouts so really disappointing.

How it can run out of milk at 2pm on a Monday afternoon is beyond me. To be offered soy substitute only when delivering not ordering the coffee and still charged 20% service charge is shameful.

Disfruté de este bar por un par de copas ya estaba limpio y el personal amable. Estuve allí temprano, así que estaba tranquilo y que me sirvieron para sentarse y mirar a la calle y tome tranquilamente.

Fuimos a la hora del almuerzo de viernes a sentarse al sol y disfrutar de la comida, nos dieron el contrario.

Quick lunch following a meeting and a burger and glass of wine was needed and it was very good.....great to be able to "upgrade" chips so sweet potato or other options.

En el pasado, la calidad de la comida era irregular, pero pensamos que había mejorado ahora. Nos equivocamos, solo uno de los 5 de nosotros estaba contento (solomillo). El resto a la izquierda con la determinación nunca volver. El pato y preparado ensaladas salmón ahumado eran pobres. Las patatas fritas de camote sabían como esponja y las patatas fritas eran obviamente fritos en aceite viejo o quemados. Y con el habitual 12. 5% de cargo por servicio me esperaba algo más de atención de personal. No hay problema cuando activa, pero si el restaurante está casi vacío no quiero esperar hasta la eternidad hasta preguntó si queremos café o un desierto. Y también muy contento si el personal tiene tiempo para charlar, pero luego tenga un ojo en sus pocos clientes mirando, y saludando.

5 of us popped in for a quick drink & ended staying for quite a few more. Great food, great drink, great service. Definitely come back.

Een keer geluncht en een keer gedineerd. Ik kwam er omdat het vlak bij ons kantoor is. Aardige mensen maar niet bijzonder eten. Prima voor een borrel na het werk. Het eten is niet slecht maar zeker niet top. Zo kwam hun crème Brulée zo uit de koelkast (volledig koud) wat ik toch niet gewend ben.

Tuvimos muy buena comida - aquí - salchichas y puré de patatas y pescado y patatas fritas, caliente y buen sabor, los aperitivos eran también muy buenos. El servicio fue excelente, el personal es servicial y divertido. El juego ya se haya subido un Corney & Barrow. Entorno ocupado, no estoy seguro de que otras personas han sido pero quizás esperábamos demasiado.

Went for a business lunch recently - the burgers were lovely. However, the apparently posh chips were just as normal with a tiny amount of topping. Did not live up to expectations.

I had lunch at The Refinery with some colleagues. We ordered a selection of food. The burgers were described as Wagyu but were tough and over-cooked. The warm smoked salmon salad with poached egg had never been warm and the egg was a cold boiled...

Tous les jours en semaine on voit des groupes de collègues venir fêter un événement, un départ en retraite, une promotion.. puis vers 20.00 cela se calme et le resto se remplit de convives pour le diner.

Visitó La Refinería recientemente para un almuerzo de negocios. El ambiente es bueno, aunque bastante formal.

Este es un pub para tomar algo después de trabajar. Para Peroni en barril y la atención al cliente es genial. Ambiente muy agradable para reunirse con colegas después del trabajo.

Este fue, hasta hace poco, una sucursal de Corney y Barrow, un lujoso bar de vinos a cerca de catering tipo de ciudad con un menú centrado a filetes. Ahora es la última rama de la refinería, un bar con una cerveza de categoría cursando simultáneamente, así como el catering para el mismo tipo de vino de la ciudad y también con carnes. Me recibió este martes el almuerzo por una señora elegante en una diminuta corte top azul. Elegí una mesa en el medio del espacio abierto con vistas al bar elegir salchichas y puré con una pinta de cerveza mientras tanto de barril. Ambos bastante dio en el clavo. No tengo quejas sobre el doble espresso a seguir. Me cautivó una secuencia de cuadros modernistas apuntalar la pared lateral publicidad Museo de Arte Moderno de Estocolmo. Tanto la comida como el arte es un poco mejor.

Went here for lunch last week. Ordered a tuna steak salad and was bemused to get 2 small pieces of tuna on a bed of bean sprouts. Was with a business contact so did not complain to our waitress but a most disappointing experience (or rip off) for £12.95 and I won't be back even though I work on the square.

A group of us went to the Refinery for a birthday lunch last week and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We had pre-ordered our food, which was served promptly, and was nice. What made it really special, though, was the excellent service from the staff - friendly, efficient and they made us feel very welcomed. Very nice decor too.

I took a friend for his birthday lunch to C&B, Dotty and Francesco and all the staff, made a big deal and made his birthday extra special - thank you C&B.

I was last Tuesday lunch and oh I say, The new menu looks good. I had the salmon not much to say about dish JUST TRY IT! I know I will the next time.

Ok so feeling tender from night before needed a nice salad. This was excellent. Couple of slabs of really nice tuna. Good leaves, toms and olives. Coffee good after. Nice spot sitting outside looking in the square.

I've been to C&B many times for lunch and for drinks with my work colleagues.The service is always good at lunchtime and in the evenings it can be very busy with work do's so it can be a little slow at times due to the sheer number of people, particularly if it's a nice evening.The menu choice at lunchtime is good and the drinks menu is great.

This is very close to work so we keep giving it chances to show improvement but the truth of the matter is that the service is appalling and the overall experience is always consistent - consistently poor. Every time I go it is a battle to get the wait staff's attention to get the bill so you can escape from the place.Food is okay, no more no less. They have this way of serving sandwiches which includes dribbling the plate with herby olive oil so you end up with soggy sarnies and oil all over your fingers - yuk.A good point - nice to go for a tea or coffee, with which they give you a cookie, when it is quiet in the morning or afternoon.

Just popped in for a coffee and cake and it was very nice here. They didn't have cake in the afternoon but the friendly waitress suggested the pear and almond tart which was lovely. Would definitely go again.

Had an after work drinking session here, it was on a friday evening, it was really buzzing in there..warm with good mood lighting...good selection of drinks..friendly staff...perfect!

The conversation went something like this:-Us: "2 glasses of the Rioja please"Very friendly Barman/waiter/host chap: "it's £10 per large 250ml glass, there's 3 glasses to a bottle and it's only £30 for a bottle. So why not order a full bottle?"Us "errr no, better not, in a rush, just the two glasses please."Friendly chap agrees, but gets us to pay in advance which was a bit odd. [then Pause as drinks very slowly arrive even though place not too busy]Us: "What??? No way there's a third of a bottle in this glass! Come on!"Friendly chap: "yes it is. 250ml, monsieur. Here- I'll prove it"[he promptly returns with a brushed steel drink measure, and proceeds to pour my wine into it. As expected it is only three quarters full]FC: "oh mon dieu but this is a terrible thing! If you are paying £10 for a glass of wine you must receive your wine. This is our mistake. You shall not be charged"Us: "mon ami we have already paid"FC: "oh sacré bleu, this is true! Wait a moment" [Disappears and swiftly returns with a crisp new £20 note]So there it is. We enjoyed our Riojas and headed off into the night, wondering whether a good thing had happened or a bad thing. Mistakes do happen and FC did respond admirably once he was made aware. Reality is that the wine was delicious. I hope their normal practice is to measure correctly, though- if it weren't for the sales patter I don't think we'd have picked it up.

We popped in for a lunch on Friday at about 12:30.I ordered a burger with cheese on. The burger was expensive and the serving very small. The cheese never appeared despite being charged extra for it.I ordered a diet coke. It came and was flat. I sent it back.I ordered some sparkling water to replace it. It came and was flat. I sent it back.I ordered a coffee. It came and was cold. I sent it back.Possibly one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had.Truly terrible. Avoid.

Perfect to enjoy a chilled glass of white wine or pint of Peroni in the sunshine after work with ample but popular seating outside. Inside it can also get quite busy but there are a few additional seats upstairs with a good view of the area below. Of course its popularity means the service is sometimes a little slow (albeit friendly) and the prices are on the high side, but overall a good place for a couple of after work drinks.

I think next time I am in the area I will visit Pret for a business lunch. Service will definitely be quicker, and I think the food better.I visited for lunch when the restaurant was not even that busy, seemingly the staff just could not cope with demand at the time. Food was ok, nothing special considering how much it cost! Corney & Barrow seem good at serving drinks, and that's really it....

Hmm... In nutshell .... Nice wine the Malbec they serve is good... But food wise .... No way... I would rather go to the ITSU round the corner... Also extremely pricey... So overall I would only go back if I won the lottery.

I often attend C&B for personal drinks and work drinks. On this occasion I attended for Christmas lunch with work, whilst the service was very good and all staff polite. I was disappointed with my starter- the Terrine(it was mostly fat and not meat, I could not spread any of it over the bread). The main course of Turkey was very good, the Xmas pus was nice.

Just round the corner of my office. Food is average. But service is immaculate. Always great for casual business lunch or just drinks with finger food.

Being so close to my work, we are often in here. Not a bad place, nice in the summer with the square to sit out in the sun. Quite pricey though, lots of other bars in the area that are just as good for the money

Went to lunch with some colleagues from work and the food was delivered in a good time. Food was very nice, good size portions and fresh tasting. Staff are friendly and polite. Good atmosphere. I would go back there again for lunch.

Went for a quick lunch with business acquittance. We had a nice table at the nice and lively terrace. Lady server was really nice and friendly. We both had a classic Caesar salad with chicken and this was very tasteful. We had to wait quite long for our food but the reason was that it start raining and they had to rearrange the terrace. We did not complain but when they brought us the bill they had discounted our meals. Great service! Will definitely come back.

The food is OK but the situation in the SQ is very good. Sauvignon is good too!! I have eaten most things of the menu and do go back but the quality isn't amazing its ok!I hate it when a non smoker sits next to you and puffs away!!

This is a good place to go after work - the surrounding companies would suggest it's a view shared by many. There's a good ambience about the place, the drinks menu is varied and there are good food options too.

The bar is nicely situated in a square amongst the working 'suits' and is most popular with lunchtime customers during their lunch breaks or those 'ladies that lunch' daily or occasionally (myself being the latter) ! I recommend you book a table online (although call if you want to be seated outside). The 'Pink Prosecco' is highly recommended and fairly reasonable at £27, the olives are amazing – very marinated and tasty, we also ordered some baby potatoes which were lovely and dipped in butter so very tasty, the chunky chips and dips however were very dry and not nice, the bread and olives platter was too small and you only get a few small slices of bread on offer to dip into oil and balsamic – OK but not enough. As we only ordered 'side orders' I couldn't comment on the main menu which we wish we had ordered from ! We did decide to have a desert as we were still hungry – there were about two choices so we ordered profiteroles with raspberry cream and chocolate sauce. However, the profiteroles were dry and crispy and very disappointing – never shy to complain we did so and were told, sympathetically by the waitress after consulting with the chef, that the chef himself agreed they were not good and they shouldn't be serving them ! Nice to know that the chef was prepared to try and get away with serving them though ! These were of course deducted from the bill, however, overall a very disappointing lunch food-wise. The evening menu is much better for 'snack' food and I can vouch from having had food from the 'Bar Menu' that there is a wider variety of choices and the large sharing Platters are of a decent portion (having eaten at The Paternoster Square branch of Corney & Barrow). In fact the bar at Paternoster Square is larger and set just opposite St Pauls and although it gets very busy and very loud if you can get a table outside there it would be a preferable location to go to than the New Street Square branch. I only chose this bar for a change from the Paternoster one but unfortunately it was an unsuccessful trip on the food front !

This place has lost its direction.The dining experience, for a while after its opening , was encouraging. But not any more. I made a reservation for lunch at 12 pm last week. When I arrived at 11.55, a handful of people were already seated, but there was no one to greet diners, and no evidence of staff activity apart from a group huddled together at the end of the bar gossiping and drinking.I selected a table near the bar and sat there for 15 minutes whilst staff passed by without any attempt at engagement with me.When I asked to see the Manager, my request was met with an equivalent lack of interest.
