Having bought Hunter Davies book, “ London Parks” I decided to visit this hidden gem park. The temperature was quite cool so was pleased to find the cafe to warm up and have a delicious coffee and cinnamon bun. Worth a visit as very historic with a nice lake and alms houses that are really pretty ❤️

Service is incredibly slow with orders often forgotten. On the day we visited two random Corgis were wandering about underneath & around our table hoping for food which was very off putting. When I complained to the woman in charge she said the dogs belonged to the owners and clearly did not give one iota of a damn. I get that this is a dog friendly cafe but surely they should be on leads and not free to harass customers while they are eating.

Terrible experience. Glass jars on the counter which look like they would have cookies or cakes were full of dog treats such as pigs ears and trotters. The place stank of dog poo which was off putting. 5 of us visited but only 2 ate having chicken soup which they said was a thimble full and had to eat outside because of the smell. Nothing on the menu available for a vegan.

Very good pub cafe in Burgess Park not far from the junction of Albany Road and Wells Way. I just had a coffee and very good it was too. But various toasted sandwiches, pastries and cakes available to consume. Lots of outdoor seating.

Used to be so nice, staff were friendly and scones and clotted cream was amazing. I think they changed the staff and food. Gone down hill.

Nice location for a cafe, however, the staff are not friendly, they come across very rude, I went there yesterday and the service was appaulling, I kept having to ask for a bag and when given the young staff member (dark haired female) was just so rude about it, her mannerism was awful and her body language spoke volumes, her face just looked like thunder, there was no thank you etc, she was so miserbale. I would also avoid buying any cakes as it's not covered and I could see flies hovering around!.

These people are the most inefficient, slow, unhelpful that I’ve seen lately. They can’t cope with a request off chart. Today I have watched, whilst I waited to be served that caring and willing to help are not behaviours that this girl have as a skill You have a perfect located café but the staff ruin it

Good choice for breakfast, series of cakes, toasted delights also. Coffee is good but ensure that your latte takes an extra shot, lol . Can we please make this place a dog friendly ? It’s a park cafe F G sake, ridiculous in 2019. I had to set up my own table outside - uuuummmm it was already 9:15 no excuse not to be all set up for customers.

Good choice for breakfast, series of cakes, toasted delights also. Coffee is good but unsure your latte takes an extra shot. Questions outside the ordinary can be difficult to be dealt with - which makes the service average. Dog friendly outside but because of other customers Only they are not allowed in the inside sitting area. Can we teach these people to assess the furry friends and make a decision - meaning - well behaved dogs and well groomed will be allowed also allow 3 dogs max at the time. Happy customers surely. It’s only Monday am there is nobody around.

This lovely little cafe is tucked away at the Walworth Rd end of Burgess Park. It offers a nice selection of snacks, food and drinks. You can sit inside or out and watch the world go by. I recommend the full English breakfast- see photo.

We are in the park very often so inevitably end up coming here to grab a hot drink when it’s cold or emergency food for kids. The food has never been very good. Ingredients don’t seem great, greasy. The cakes are average at best. The coffee is a terrible standard compared to other local cafes these days! The service is slow and inefficient. Two people serving the same order. Basic requests, like for cutlery or tap water, forgotten. Unfortunately there’s nothing else close enough so we find ourselves with little choice but to use the place on occasion. But today has been the worst. We waited an hour for an order that was lost (but already paid for). And the staff were completely unapologetic and clearly couldn’t care less!

If you want somewhere to undo the good work after a Saturday morning parkrun, this is your place! I think it's a bit short-staffed hence the wait but it's normally not that busy.

Burgess Park was recommended to us by a no.12 bus driver and we were so pleased that we took his advice. We had a lovely walk through this beautiful park along the old canal and stopped off for an excellent coffee and good panini at the cafe next to the Chumleigh gardens. The cafe is bright and comfortable and very clean. The waitresses were very cheerful and pleasant and the gardens next door are a delight. It was a great break away from the hustle of the surrounding suburbs.

Outrageously long wait for a £7.50 burger on a quiet lunchtime. Everyone makes mistakes but the way they dealt with it was pathetic. Barely an apology and the waitress just walked off. This is customer service??? NOT GOOD ENOUGH

I came here for a Friday lunch with a friend. I found the menu surprisingly expensive for a park cafe. The cafe was not busy, but we had to wait to order our food and then waited over half an hour for it to come. When it finally arrived, my friend's vegetarian aubergine parmigiana turned out to be meat lasagne when she bit into it, and my soup had no seasoning whatsoever and no bread with it, and was virtually inedible. We sent both back to the kitchen. They accepted bringing me the aubergine dish instead of the soup, but the staff were unfriendly and no apology was given. The lady on the table next to us who had ordered the lasagne that my friend started was still waiting for her food when we left over 40 minutes later! I am so disappointed as the park is such a lovely spot and deserves a great cafe. They've done it up really nicely: the decor is great, but the food and service just don't deliver.

One of the worst coffee and very pricey too. The ice cream is also very expensive (2£ for a magnum). It's a trap for parents that are in need of a drink whilst looking after their kids playing in the park.

The whole experience was exceptional from start to finish: obviously the location is outstanding - we were blown away. But also, by the attention to detail and and authentic care of those who looked after us: your staff from cloakroom to our beautiful waitress was genuinely warm, attentive and kind. It's rare to find service like this, and it stands out! It really made the experience special from start to finish. Combine this with family time, and a truly delicious and again rather exceptional afternoon tea with its whimsical treats, and it made for an experience which rose high above our expectations. It was a truly happy, special and memorable experience - we loved it!!

The restaurant was very busy , so there were delays with service . Although the website showed several menus , only one was available - the festive menu . Food was good and served hot. Would like some more interesting icecream flavours e.g. coffee and cardamom or brown bread . £140 for 2 . No starters , a main each , one side, a few scoops of ice cream , 2 coffees and a bottle of wine. Wine prices started about £48 per bottle.
