Food was good although small portions, was made to wait for 45mins before seated at table, was told we had to leave at end of out 2hr time slot even though we were seated late. Manager was quite rude about it, told us we were seated on time even though we weren't and took a fair while to take order for 20 people and bring food out. Money we spent to be told we needed finish before desert was even put on table showed how poor customer service is. Couldn't get a simple beer order correct, not just once but several times. Been treated better in a Weatherspoons.

Sunday Roast at Roast…appropriate! Food: Beef Wellington was cooked and presented to perfection but the medium rare beef roast was more rare. Potatoes and creamed spinach were delicious. All prepared for a GF patron Service: Impeccable…I wanted to give an additional gratuity but the no-contact machines made that a bit complicated. Atmosphere: Above the Borough Market crowds which was quite nice but our table was too close to the waiter’s station. Otherwise, Roast is very well appointed. I’d recommend Sunday Roast when in the UK but maybe somewhere a bit more quaint.

Having previously eaten just the potatoes while in the market, we was very excited to try the restaurant. Should of left it there. We went into a beautiful setting, no one offered to take our coats. We was seated in the window which was lovely. The Christmas decorations were pretty. Hubby had beef Wellington, £45, and I had beef, £36.50, medium rare. With extra sides of stuffing £7 and pigs in blankets, £7. Two beers at £6 each and 2 ciders at £6. Food looked amazing. The beef and Wellington was lovely. Potatoes, which I was so excited about, were ok, just ok. The mash had so much truffle and garlic that it wasnt good. The green vegetables weren't drained enough so there was a quite a bit of water at the bottom of the bowl. The vegetables were so salty, as was the stuffing and pigs in blankets. I love salt but seriously...no one came to ask if our food was ok. Not once. Second drink took a while to serve. They did bring out a little chocolate tartlet for my birthday but no "Happy Birthday ". Overall we won't be coming back and won't recommend to others. £140 not well spent.

The only ROAST I can recommend is this review - What on earth has happened to this once great restaurant?? Avoid this tourist trap and go next door to Greek Souvla bar AGORA instead. Having enjoyed a fantastic dinner here about 10 years ago I was shocked at how mediocre/below average the food and service were here this time now to the mention the extortionate prices (like £8.50 for some of the sides). My Rib-Eye steak was grey and tough as old shoe leather, the "Rosemary and garlic roast potatoes" didn't look or taste like they'd even seen any and the sticky toffee pudding was so bland I've had better supermarket versions. Then to be presented with a bill for nearly £260 for two of us (without any wine or other alcohol) but with a whacking great service charge of 15% was the final insult. Don't bother coming here unless you want to get ripped off. 1/10

Such a shame. The food is good but the overall ambience is really disappointing. Turned up - no smile or hello, just a Miserable face to take coats. Sit down, efficient service but v disinterested. Nobody expects anyone to be totally interested in your story as a punter but a semblance of happy to see you would have been good. We asked for doggy bags and were given 2 takeaway cartons and a carry bag to dish it up for ourselves - not acceptable for a restaurant of this price point. We left and picked up coats. No goodbye or thank you at any point. Here or McDonald’s - your choice 🤷‍♀️

A cover charge? I assume that the restaurant didn't previously pass on tips to staff and have now added a cover charge to make up for 'their' lost profits. From the menu: "Prices are inclusive of VAT. A discretionary 15% service charge, which includes a non-discretionary £2 per head cover charge, will be added to your bill".

Went for afternoon tea in October (bit late writing the review). Food was okay, but often felt a bit style over substance. Quite a few dishes looked amazing but weren't that nice to eat, for example the black scones made with activated charcoal. I'm sure they look great on Instagram or wherever, but charcoal is a drying ingredient, and these scones were so dry that we left half of them. But my biggest complaint was how crowded it was. The tables were packed far too close together - i had the seat with my back to the aisle, and every single time a waiter or guest walked by they jostled the back of my chair. We were also the first table by the entrance, so we spent the entire meal with people standing over our table, looming over us (as the desk had guests stand next to our table while they waited for their table to be ready, which is why the service only gets 2 stars. The waiters were fine, but the desk has no idea how to manage crowds). The constant jostling and being loomed over made it impossible to relax and enjoy the occasion. Not that it was a particularly long occasion - after 1hr and 25min they announced they needed the table back. Afternoon tea is supposed to be a slow, indulgent experience. This was rushed, frustrating, and very expensive for indifferent food.

Visited last week for a food and drinks. Service was good as in they were very accommodating being that I was 20mins late for my booking; however the waiter service was less than average maybe he was having a bad day but he was rather miserable. The food was less than adequate; being that the roast dinner was £34 the potatoes were dry and lacked any flavour, same for the turkey. In fact the entire plate was missing any flavour and just drowned in gravy to make up for the fact it was so dry. Over priced and poor quality; which is dissappointing as the venue was so well decorated for the festive season.

This can be said to be the most disappointing steak wellington I have ever eaten. Although the steak had no smell and was tender, there was no beef aroma at all. It was not the beef fat aroma. It was the sweetness of the beef itself that I didn't feel at all. So there is basically no level to speak of in terms of taste. Without the sauce, the whole steak is really tasteless, but the mashed potatoes on the side are very flavorful. Because there was a waiting time for the steak, I ordered the Scotch egg as a starter. I thought the Scotch egg was pretty good and average. I also ordered Yorkshire pudding, which is a good side dish with beef. I think it is the second most delicious thing in this restaurant after mashed potatoes 😂 No comment on the service part. The reception attitude at the front desk is good, but the waiters don't seem to care about the guests. For example, the water glass is not automatically refilled when it is empty. After the request for water is raised, it is not processed immediately. Instead, you have to ask again before you can drink a glass of water. Service It’s also difficult for students to cue. It’s actually quite expensive to be served like this and charge a 15% service fee. Overall, if you come here for steak, you can go to Savoy or the one with bubble buttom. This one is really good😅

We absolutely had to visit this restaurant after hearing it’s a must-see spot. The entrance was a bit tricky to find, but once we made our way up and stepped inside, we were blown away. First off, the decor — it’s truly something special! We got a table quickly, though I’d recommend making a reservation since it filled up in ten minutes. The food was great—I had a super tasty mushroom risotto. They also have a big selection of wines by the glass, which is a big plus for us. Even if you’re planning to grab a bite from the stalls at Borough Market, this place is one you shouldn’t skip!

It is a great setting, really nice vibe ( if a little squeezed ) and nicely decorated for Christmas. Giulio made a huge difference though and was probably the most positive aspect of the evening! . He was brilliant and so helpful with my daughter who is a bit fussy with food. We are very grateful to him for making her evening and food great! Ours ( nut roast ) was ok but the veg was a little cold and the gravy so overpowering it rendered everything else tasting only of that. Daughter’s starter was nice but the prawns I had were again cold and the sharp orange in the salad may be a la mode but it made me wince. Desserts great !

I would give 0 stars if I could. This place is so overhyped and tries to play fancy but the reality is different. They try to put clients in every free corner and aren't able to manage the chaos. We received our cold main plate only a few minutes after sitting down, but our starters came later. The whole experience felt very stressful and chaotic and people talking around us confirmed that we weren't the only ones with this opinion. Not the best day to visit. Friday night just before Xmas. The place was rammed, which meant one of our party was constantly buffered by people passing. Initial service was poor. Waiter vanished after one of our party ordered a drink, and then told another of our party he thought we were rude when we commented on it. We weren't. Trust me, he'd have known if we had a serious point to make. My Xmas themed scotch egg was excellent, but absolutely drowned by a very sweet cranberry ketchup. The beef Wellington was perfect. We knocked the 15% included automatically in the bill down to 10% as it would have been excessive even without the issues

Had a lovely time at Roast, but there were a couple of small issues that held it back. Starters: The Scotch egg was a highlight—crispy on the outside with a perfectly runny yolk. The beetroot sauce added a sweet balance, and the fresh watercress brought a nice touch. Mains: • The Beef Wellington was excellent—tender beef, crisp pastry, and the truffle mash was smooth and packed with flavor. The gravy tied it all together beautifully. • The steak, however, was a letdown. It was chewy and not cooked medium-rare as requested, which was disappointing considering the price point. Sides: The cauliflower cheese was indulgent with a golden, crispy top, the roast potatoes were perfectly crispy outside and fluffy inside, and the Yorkshire puddings were huge and light—exactly what you’d expect from a proper roast. Ambience: The space is stunning, especially with the festive decorations like the ceiling of wrapped gifts. The large windows create a bright, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely meal. Service: The staff were professional, polite, and attentive, which really enhanced the experience. Price: It’s worth mentioning that everything is on the expensive side. While the quality of the food is mostly great, the steak falling short made the price feel a bit harder to justify. Overall: Roast is a beautiful place with great service and mostly excellent food, but for the price, I expected everything to be spot on. Perfect for a special occasion, but just be prepared to spend a little more.

The food was very nice, we started with the Salmon sharing platter which was generous and then the turkey dinner. Just a few small niggles, the salmon came with plain white bread which was a little odd and when I requested extra gravy, it came closer to the end of the meal, which made it redundant. The only thing was the cost, I thought it was a little on the pricey side. However it is the Roast and it's prime location, so you can be forgiven for spending a few extra pounds. We got there at 11:45am. Didn't get seated until 12 then waiting nearly 2hrs for our food - we have 20 minutes to eat it before we were told we had to leave as the next table had arrived. Not great service. No apology or discount even suggested, probably wouldn't return based off of this experience.

Told to leave after 1hr 45 mins after being given pudding menu. Offered to re cork the red!! Nothing on reservation to say we were on the clock. Huge queue when we left. To say it’s gone downhill is an understatement. Very poor and disappointing That place started out as a cool, unpretentious gaff above a food market

We have eaten here many times and this visit on 11th December was awful. The restaurant was too busy and even at the entrance we had to deal with people queuing to get in and out. This was worse when we left as they had fallen further behind. The beach chair we had one side of the table was broken and the back kept giving way. There was a gap between starter and main of an hour and then they brought out one incorrect dish, realised what they had done and said the other was being plated up. Meanwhile the rest was getting cold - nearly five minutes later the final main arrived. This was not cooked properly (belly pork) as the crackling was soft and there was more fat than meat - overall a terrible experience - over booked and poor service staff overworked. Such a shame as spoilt out day completely.

We ordered within 15minutes of arriving at our table, and we arrived early. The food was so slow to come, an hour in between our starters and mains. When we finished our main and asked to order our pudding we were told we couldn't because they needed the table back even though the reason it hd taken two hours for us to finish was the fault of the restaurant and not ours, we were kicked out before finishing our meal! Disgraceful... The general manager was also extremely rude about the situation and basically said that it wasn't his problem

Had a great evening, despite slow service. It took over 2 hours to serve our mains, the manager kicked us out due to having another booking, and then proceeded to try and lie and say we were half an hour late, despite us being a few minutes early. The staff were very accommodating despite the disappointing attitude of the manager. We wont be back!

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas with the ceilings covered in parcels. The food was good but quite pricey. Service at times was a little slow, however, the restaurant was very full. Overall an enjoyable evening

Firstly must say the décor and food was fantastic and highly recommend. my only complaint was that we was left standing around in a corridor as our table wasn't ready and they have taken up the bar area with restaurant seating which makes for a very compact dinning experience

We had a table booked for three. We arrived we were seated nicely, the venue is beautifully decorated, we waited for 25 minutes for three cokes as we were all driving, whilst we were eating the first waiter came to our table and lent across each of us and took our spare cutlery, this should of been done before the main course not during it was a small table and we had to literally stop putting the food on the Fork in our mouths, we were all quite shocked, then i happened a second time when the second waiter came up and lent over to take the spare glasses from our tables, food wise the Turkey was all cabbage with three small slices if Turkey and the smallest bit of Stuffing on a bed of mostly red cabbage, I was told the Nutroast was extremely bland and most was left as the person was so board with it, not once did anyone come to our table and ask if every thing was ok, overall nice venue food average waiters were all running round with no idea, we had to ask for the bill three times, the final lady that got the bill was very attentive and helpful.

Eat frequently in Roast but this afternoon had a few challenges. Everyone seemed to have the same reservation time leading to a long queue and a 15 minute wait time in the corridor. Food was excellent as always and drinks came quickly. Another table had booked for 6 but had only been given a table for 4 so that created some fuss near my table.

Very poor experience. Food took ages to come. No updates. No one came to ask if we wanted more drinks. Then we were told the fish takes longer to cook. It was the smallest piece of fish- 8 mins max. We waited 45 minutes for food. Gravy was flavourless. Roast potatoes too crunchy and no rosemary flavour. No offer of discount or drink. Then drink order came and it was wrong. All in all, an awful Christmas meal.

First time visiting and it was rammed, had to wait in a queue all the way from the lift even though booked a table. Then when we were seated, I had booked for a table of 5 and they only gave us a table for four. Food was overpriced and very average, dry Turkey and arrived cold. Had to ask for extra gravy which was also charged on bill. Asked for drinks and they never arrived. Noise levels through the roof and struggled to have a conversation on the table due to this. Waiting staff very slow and forgetful. Things were added to the bill we never received. Really disappointed as was expecting a decent roast from a restaurant with the name “roast”, all I can say is waste of money. We traveled a long way for this but such a shame and walked out annoyed by the price and what we received for the money.

Enjoyable but had to que for 10 minutes in hallway with many other diners. Food very nice but felt slightly expensive and £14 for a lot of puddings. Service ok but not fantastic.

The ambience was great and it was really busy but some hosts looked frustrated and not very hospitable. However some people who were servicing us were absolutely excellent and attentive and kindly accommodated our requests. The food was good but the roast was colder thank I would have liked. Drinks were excellent and dessert was delicious. It’s a wonderful place to go before Christmas comes! I would return again.

We had a table for six at 13:15. Arrived on time. Took twenty minutes for drinks order to arrive- the restaurant was busy, but no excuse. One order was wrong. More delays. Took a further 15 minutes to clear our plate at the end if our meal. Bill at this stage was £450 for starters, main courses and cocktails. Our waiter arrived at 14:55 and told us we were too late to order pudding or coffee as they needed out table back at 15:15. No hint of apology, no flexibility despite the fact we would have liked pudding and coffee and probably taken the bill up to closer to £600. Waiter remonstated and argued in an aggressive manner, and at no time accepted that it might have been helpful if they had been more prompt with out order, or given us a heads up ten minutes earlier that we needed to order our desserts. So so poor. I will never ever go back. Spolied my daughter's birthday lunch and we all left both baffled and upset. Poor form.

We had a fabulous brunch with friends. The location is superb, the food was delicious and the champagne kept coming. Highly recommend everything but the sourdough with marmite butter, the cheese biscuits and the ceviche tacos to start were all sublime.

Piacevolmente sorpresi. Tantissimi oggetti artigianali in vendita molto interessanti . La sala dove potersi sedere molto bella.
