The best restaurants serving British food in London

Honestly speaking one of the best hotels I've been to in a while, it had everything you need to the great hospitality and to the service and the food was amazing I would definitely go back there again

I had high expectations for this Sunday pork roast, but sadly, it fell short. While the pork itself was fine, the vegetables were a real disappointment—just a few burned, skinny carrots and potatoes tucked under the meat. Given how affordable and essential good roast veggies are, there really should have been a more generous and well-prepared portion. A more balanced plate would have made all the difference. Hopefully, they consider improving this aspect!

The actual pub was very atmospheric and charming On the day of our visit which was Easter Saturday half of the menu was not available including the signature meals of Barnsley chop and the steak and kidney pudding We orders three starters and five main meals I ordered a pot of tea which was only half full when it arrived no milk when I asked for milk I was given a small jug of hot milk ! Our mains arrived before the starters ! And I said oh we ordered starters and the waitress they are coming And then shortly afterwards our starters arrived So we ended up with our starter and main meal together Which we found rather strange We complained to the manager who didn’t seem very perturbed about this he did apologise but offered no discount On checking the bill we had been charged for three starters when we only received two and a side which we did not order On paying the rather hefty bill my husband asked for the service charge to be taken off ! All in all I would not go back to this pub nor would I recommend it to anyone Poor service I felt the manager did not deal with our complaint effectively

We stayed at the Dean Street Townhouse in early April 2025 for about 5 days and absolutely loved it. The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of SoHo but out of the bar fray by about a block, right next to the subway line that takes you to Heathrow. We found that this location was in the middle of everything we wanted to do - in SoHo, easy bike or walk or subway to Mayfair, St James, theatres and the City. The SoHo club up the street is fantastic as are the restaurants within a block. We loved coming back home - the staff were wonderful and very helpful with recommendations. They also took great pains to get us into our room early when our flight got us there long before check in. The room was excellent - great bed, all the things like chargers that you need, and the most incredible amazing shower I’ve ever had in a hotel. London is great regardless but have to say that staying here would be a big decider in coming back to London again soon. A beautifully preserved historic pub with cozy little rooms inside the bar – perfect for a quiet pint. They serve a great range of Samuel Smith’s beers. Both the food and drinks were excellent!

I only had the beer and I have to say it was good. Visited on a Sunday evening so it was virtually empty

Great pub with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was delicious, and the beer was excellent — exactly what you’d hope for in a place like this. The staff were fantastic — professional, polite, and very helpful. The pub was full, with most tables taken or reserved, but they still managed to find us a spot. Thanks to them, we had a really nice and tasty meal. A place definitely worth visiting again. Dog friendly.

The City Barge in Chiswick is a charming riverside pub blending historic character with modern flair. Enjoy seasonal British dishes, a fine selection of ales, and stunning Thames views. A true gem!
