Together with our friends, we visited the restaurant, or rather the pub, before the ABBA concert. As there is only fast food in the hall of the ABBA concert, we decided to have dinner in a restaurant nearby. This was a good decision. The restaurant is located in a side street. The staff were very nice. The food was very good.

Consistently excellent food and a lovely atmosphere. The staff are amazing. Charlie, Ellie, Harriet especially!!! Much love for this place.

Well, the Morgan Arms is an absolute gem of a pub. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The interior is cozy, with a perfect blend of little touches and traditional pub charm. But what really sets this place apart is the food—simply put, it's phenomenal. The menu at The Morgan Arms is packed with a variety of mouthwatering dishes, but the star of the show has to be the pie of the day, It was a roast pork pie when I went and it is everything you'd want from a classic pub dish - hearty, rich, and bursting with flavour. The crust is perfectly golden and flaky, while the filling, tender and seasoned to perfection. If you're a fan of pies, this one will not disappoint. But, great pie aside, what makes the Morgan Arms special is the staff here, some of the friendliest you'll ever meet, creating a welcoming environment that made me want to come back. Sarah, in particular, stood out for her exceptional service. She was attentive without being overbearing, always on hand to make sure everything was just right, and her genuine enthusiasm added to the overall experience. 100% would recommend to a friend

We originally decided on the Morgan Arms as I was given a voucher. The pub is set in a nice part of Bow, offers an excellent selection of food, and is dog-friendly. My partner and I had the same food - bread and butter, potato skewers, and the burgers along with a few jubel beers. No complaints on anything - everything was perfect.

Spent a lovely Thursday night at the Morgan Arms last night with friends over from the US. Charlie the barmen took great care of our evening with table service for both food and drinks. Well worth a visit.

I visited for the first time for dinner with my family and we had the best time. The atmosphere with the old school music and candles really sets this place apart from the other pubs around here. The food is delicious, my dad in particular loved the pie!! The staff are really friendly and attentive, our waitress Ellie really made the evening special. They’re really dog friendly too which is a big bonus, will definitely be recommending this place to my friends!!

We had never been to this place before , however we decided to make a last minute visit for the euros as the atmosphere appeared good from outside. Upon arrival, the female waitress appeared immediately unhappy to accommodate us and fit us in , and 15 minutes later my brother in law was taken outside an accused of looking at the bartender and told to leave! Confused, we humoured and said that it is the euros final, there are over 100 people in the room and looking around at people is expected! This bizarre accusation made my brother in law extremely uncomfortable and upset, and the rudeness of the staff from the beginning towards us made it impossible to feel welcome in this place. Even after we tried to watch the match and forget this weird experience, we were stared at by the staff who sniggered at us and made us feel extremely unwanted and uncomfortable. The whole experience was extremely confusing and strange , and the treatment of the staff towards us felt extremely unnecessary and random.

While atmosphere was nice and relaxing, sadly the Sunday roast it was on the average side: roasted potatoes too dry and almost undercooked, not enough of veggies to the ratio of beef, Horseradish source was very watered and diluted, pudding sides were already burned. And cocktail wasn't properly mixed up to create a smooth overall flavour. Service felt that they were understaffed and we had to wait for a while to get their attention . Hence, considering you pay a 12.5% service charge on top of it - the overall experience comes down to an average rating.

The Morgan Arms hosted our wedding reception last weekend and we were completely blown away by the team, food and level of service. Charlie and Khaitee were a joy to liaise with in the lead up to the wedding and catered to all our requests before and on the day. Everything went perfectly (there isn’t a single thing we could fault!), the day ran like clockwork!! So many of our guests commented on how delicious the food was - there was plenty to go round and not a single person left hungry! We can’t thank the whole team enough for the huge amount of time and effort they put in to make the day so special. Thank you all SO much!!

I went recently with a large group of friends/colleagues for a leaving do. This is usually an our favourite pub to go to, as it’s near our workplace and we like the atmosphere. However, the food was very bad and it was disappointing for the price we paid each. The fish and chips came out 3 minutes after the order, it was cold, soggy - like it had been reheated. The mushy peas were watery and the curry sauce was bright yellow and absolutely awful. It’s such a shame as we use to come here for Christmas meals, occasions, drinks.. although the last few times the food has been consistently bad so we have stopped going.

I booked the courtyard and the back room for my birthday and everything was perfect! It did feel like I was having a private party in my back garden but with the service of a fancy hotel! The whole team and staff was super helpful and they accommodated my requests. Communication with Charlie was excellent. I would highly reccomend the Morgan Arms as it’s one of the few pubs that allows you to book both indoor and outdoor which is perfect for the uncertain British summer!

I cannot share the nice experience of other reviewers, sadly. We ordered 2 roast beefs and two plant Wellingtons. Food took 45 minutes to arrive and pastry on Wellingtons was burnt black on top and bottom. Beef was cooked through with no hint of pink, probably being kept hot while the cook brutalized the plant orders. Waitress was very apologetic and took both plant dishes off the bill, but bitter aftertaste lingers. Cannot recommend this "gastro pub".

Great atmosphere, staff great quiz on in the other room(sounds good) 4 of us eating husband had pie 👍lovely, son daughter in law loved there food mine was chicken Kiev all good but the Kiev was a bit dry and couldn’t taste garlic otherwise a great place and we shall return.

Was our local for about 2 years and was all good vibes every time. Recently attended to a dog show, the beers, the entertainment the preparation was all spot on. They prepared little prizes and goody bags for the dogs, there was a photoshoot and lots of dogs & fun. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

Lovely quiet pub with excellent seating and atmosphere

Really disappointing food. Had the chicken Kyiv which was completely dry and almost burnt. The green beans were also burnt. It’s a shame when the pub itself is so nice otherwise.

Great scotch eggs and great alcohol on tap. The staff are really friendly, including the kitchen staff; a chef popped out to explain the allergy information and then brought the food over, while reconfirming how it was made and what was in it. A member of the bar staff gave me a recommendation for one of the lagers and explained its origins. Very friendly place.

This is in a great location in a lovely part of Bow. Great ambience in the evening, got there around 8.30 to meet someone for the first time. The surrounding made me comfortable, the waitresses were pleasant and very helpful. The lights were dim and there were tea lights on the table creating a very romantic atmosphere. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend.

Just had a wonderful lunch here. Food was really, really good thank to new chef, Allan, looked after like a Queen by Charlie, the Assistant Manager, and felt very comfortable coming here by myself and have signed up for the Tuesday night Quiz.

Unreal food. Had the Roast Porcetta which was so delicious (especially the cider apple sauce) followed by their sticky toffee pudding which is the best I’ve tried!! Love supporting local businesses and with this food they make it really easy. Staff are great and i’m a big fan of their decor too (lovely William Morris touches). Great place to sit with a glass of wine and play board games with friends as well. Will be back soon to try their roast beef.

Had the fish and chips- was overpriced and the chips weren’t fully cooked. Shame as the pub used to have a bigger menu and the quality was a bit better. Would come back for a drink but would no longer recommend the food sadly

Have to say that I’ve never been more disappointed in a meal. Came here with high expectations but the food was not only sub par it took over 2 hours to get served 2 courses. The baked camembert was just filo and skin- as they’d over cooked it and all the cheese was liquified and ran out before it was properly plated. Also the fish was greasy and half of the chips were overcooked to the point of being nearly burnt and the others undercooked.. The pub is lovely and o hope this was just a hiccup, but at over £60, I won’t be running back to test that they’ve improved

Update had dinner here tonight it was okay but not a gastronomic experience, on a short choice menu they had run out of 2 options. Been here before and it was good but so disappointed today. Cold food, tough beef 2 roast potatoes, no cauliflower cheese at 3pm ,not a good Sunday lunch especially for the price, we won’t becoming back.

The food is absolutely terrible and overpriced. This place is ok for a drink, but do not eat here.

I don't make it to London often, but when I do, I always go the Morgan Arms at least once. The food and the service never let me down, and Christmas dinner was no different. It was excellent - so delicious and comforting. Can't wait to go back!

10/10 great service great meal great vibes

First, the good stuff: Charlie, who took my reservation over the phone, was delightful. There was a great cozy buzz in the place when we rolled for our booking at 5pm on the Friday before Christmas. And the chap who served us at our table for six was professional, amusing, charming … and profusely apologetic when he had to break the news to us that, at 5.30pm, they were all out of the mushroom risotto. He expressed great surprise at this, but we weren’t remotely surprised. It was the only hot vegetarian main course on the menu. Lots of people are vegetarian these days. So I’ll wager the risotto went in a flash not because lots of people were eager for mushroom risotto — but because it was the only choice they had if they wanted a hot main course that damp December evening. Yes, the menu did include a big salad, and a rather weird vegan sharing tapas starter, but aren’t vegetarians entitled to a hot main course too? And aren’t we also entitled to a choice? And aren’t we entitled to expect that if the online menu had included several tempting vegetarian main courses (I had my eye on the vegan fish and chips when I’d booked a week earlier), then those dishes would appear on the menu on the day? Surely, surely, surely, if you can offer a meat burger and fries, you can rustle up a veggie-burger and fries too? 
It didn’t ruin our evening — the Abba Voyage experience that followed left us smiling all night — but it was a disappointing reminder that not all friendly, cozy, trendy London pubs have yet got the message: you’ll run out of stuff fast, and piss off a lot of customers, if you don’t give them a choice.

We went for Christmas Day and they could not have been more accommodating or done more for me and my young family. The service was excellent and attentive, friendly with the young children too allowing us to enjoy our food. The food was lovely, we didn’t feel like a stuffed turkey which is always great after Christmas lunch, we enjoyed both the Turkey and the vegan wellington and the wine was great too. Great value for Christmas and I’m pretty sure we will be doing it again next year…. And probably next Sunday too! Thank you

The meals were cold no matter what you ordered. We were a table of. 8 people. The price was average. The service was alright. The normal pub atmosphere.

Came here for a Christmas meal with some friends- unfortunately because we hadn’t booked the Christmas menu we couldn’t have it! Maybe someone could have told us when we booked. The food we had was the general pub food usually served which was tasty and hot. Our waiter was brilliant, helpful and funny. Everyone else was having their Christmas party food and it was very busy, the music was playing- it was all very loud for us. It’s a lovely pub and all the staff were great but just too noisy if you want a chat.

I organised my teams Xmas party here. We normally stay in CW but this year we wanted something different. Everybody had lovely time, food was delicious and the wine choice great. We couldn't wish for more. Thank you guys for looking after us so well.

This is my second time at the Morgan Arms and the atmosphere was great, as usual. However, for Sunday lunch, I had the porchetta and unfortunately, the roast wasn't good. The crackling was soggy, the carrott was hard, and the Yorkshire pudding was the same texture as a cracker. :( It could be down to a busy kitchen and therefore an off day.

I had my first Sunday roast right here at this location and it was splendid. Great staff, food, drinks and a nice walkable neighborhood. I would recommend this place for anyone who’s been looking to get an experience in celebrating Sunday roast the London way.

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Morgan Arms, our local pub. After three years of frequenting this establishment, it is disheartening to witness a consistent lack of available menu options, particularly during early evenings. This became particularly problematic when we brought our elderly parents, aged 65+, only to find that fish and chips and burgers were the sole options. To make matters worse, the one braised lamb pie I managed to order was not only tasteless but also incredibly tough. We noticed other guests receiving sizeable portions of fish and chips and requested to cancel one from the order but we only received refusal, claiming it was almost ready. However, we ended up waiting an additional 15 minutes. There was a complete lack of generosity or understanding when it came to canceling the order. Another disappointment was the mac and cheese we ordered, which did not arrive with our meal and was ultimately sent back due to its tasteless nature and the absence of truffle, as advertised on the menu. To add insult to injury, we were still charged for the mac and cheese, even after bringing it to the attention of the manager. I feel compelled to share my genuine and deep disappointment with the current state at Morgan Arms. It is disheartening to see the decline in quality, service, and overall customer satisfaction. Ridiculous reply, I do not think there will be another time as much as I used to love you

My choice of dish wasn't available, but at least our server checked before taking our order. The pub was pretty empty hence the lack of atmosphere, but despite the fact we said we needed to leave at a particulartime, and we were some of the only people there. It took ages for someone to take our order. But the food was fabulous and its a lovely place.

Great place for Sunday roast....but roasts not always available. Been 10 times, but last 2 times no roast for Sunday roast, which is disappointing. Will not be going back, seems a change of chef,.management or both. Shame as the place used to be solid.

The Morgan Arms is by far one of the best pubs in Mile End/Bow working very close by it is fast becoming my favourite place to eat and drink . The staff are excellent and always friendly and the food is as good as it gets in any pub restaurant .

The Morgan Arms is a lovely pub. We went for the dog show in September and had such a fun time. Charlie was an amazing host and created a very memorable afternoon. We will definitely be back.

Good spot for catching up with mates. Good atmosphere and lighting. Staff friendly. Not good veggie options for food (especially if not a fan of truffles… not entirely sure why everywhere in London has now decided that all veggie food must taste like feet)… ended up with fries and a fried lettuce… which again… what’s the deal with this… who decided that a soggy charred half of a romaine lettuce was food. I think… if you wouldn’t serve it to a mate visiting you at home.. then it shouldn’t make it onto a menu… and I can’t cook to save my life… but still… ANYWAY… £5.50 pints of Amstel… which is apparently good now. So can’t complain (ramble aside)

Friendly staff! Lovely food. Weather was perfect to sit in the beer garden 🌞. I absolutely loved the decor of the place, and they even had little details of toiletries in the women's toilets. All around fab 👌🏼

So good, we went twice in 24 hours! We are new locals to the area and had such a fantastic meal with such amazing service (for both humans and our dog frank) that we decided to come back today for the Sunday roast - and of course weren't disappointed! Charlie served us both days incredibly - was so attentive and has such a great personality, a real asset to the Morgan Arms team. Will of course be coming back again - our new local.
