We had my Mother’s Wake in The Maxwell Room at the Bulls Head recently and I would like to thank George and The Team for making everything go so smoothly for the family

The staff were friendly and courteous, despite us not knowing where we needed to be. Nice, simple touches like the jug of cold water brought to us without needing to ask. Food was extremely good quality and plentiful. It's taken us 30 years to find this gem. We will be back frequently

We just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your team for the amazing day we had on Sunday. Everything was perfect, it could not have been any better. The food was delicious and many people commented on how good it was. The staff were extremely helpful, attentive, nothing too much trouble, efficient with great attention to detail and just really so incredibly friendly. You did everyone proud and we may well make this an annual get together moving forward. We will always have happy memories of that day and it was a perfect way to say a proper goodbye to our mother Thank you all so much, we appreciate everything that you did to make this day very special

Christmas 2023 was my families fifth Christmas day we had celebrated at The Bulls Head, however we will not be returning as we were all left entirely disappointed with our experience. I did email The Bull with the issued listed following this experience, which was ignored. Therefore I am following up via Trip Adviser mainly to ensure the issues experienced next year are addressed. No gammon served with our Turkey dinners which was on the menu, to be told there was actually no gammon for the meal. We were told the dinners had been supplemented with additional Turkey, which was not the case as most of the meals only had one slice. When we requested for pigs in blankets to supplement our dinners, we were told they should have been pre-ordered and then had to discuss this further with staff. When we were eventually served 2 portions for the whole table, mid-meal, we were told these would be free of charge considering the situation with our meals. However, having later checked they had been added to the bill and so we had been charged. By the time the bill had come, we still had not been served any mince pies which were included in the menu. When they did arrive as payment was being addressed, then the offering was 3 despite being a table of 9. Also, in previous years we have been served a side dish with additional vegetables and potatoes, which we were not served, and the meal was markedly smaller than it has ever been. The portion of duck was menial and of poor quality. The whole meal was completely disrupted by confusion and poor information around the meal, which we would not expect at any restaurant, especially on Christmas Day. Having initially been seated considerably later than our booking time, the service throughout was slow and empty plates remained on our table for a long time, until the next course was being served. For a meal that was £100 per person the service and food was not up to scratch. The waitress did not apply service charge to the meal, but this came with no explanation or apology. Christmas Day is an extremely special day for our family and the one opportunity we have to have a meal together each year. Our experience last year left us feeling completely deflated, and understandably tainted our day which led us to our decision not to return for our Christmas Day dinner.

Had Sunday lunch at The Bull yesterday for the very first time. Service was slick, food was delicious and the portion sizes enormous. Couldn't fault anything and will definitely be a returning customer. Please keep up the high level of customer service and quality of food and you will have many more repeat customers.

A Wonderful Lunch Experience at The Bull Pub We recently had a lovely lunch at The Bull in Chislehurst, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The menu has improved significantly with the new chef, and you can really tell the difference! I ordered the lamb, which was absolutely amazing—perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The only small improvement would be to add some more greens to complement the dish. Bar staff, Tracy, was a delight! She was not only helpful but also funny, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It's always nice to have great service to match the food, and Tracy really made us feel welcome. We'll definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend! Yvonne

Lovely pub with atmosphere. Staff are friendly and attentive…we had a roast yesterday. The beef was very chewy but everything else was just right. Sticky toffee pudding - divine!

Had the sausage sandwich & the fish finger sandwich which was both "banginging" (bar tenders words)! Prices very reasonable. Pub is massive & very nicely decked out with a big garden, tvs (which had the sports on) & board games! Would definitely go back!

All very good. Very polite and cheerful waitresses. Served quickly.

We had a lovely evening at the Bulls Head. Quiz night was great fun and the burger was amazing! Will be back for the Quiz next month!

Visit here for a family roast on Sunday 29th September. It was very disappointing that when we were ordering with the waitress we found out three out of the 7 meals we had wanted were unavailable. If you have food unavailable it should be told to us as soon as we are given the menu. My daughter only wanted to come to this restaurant after a very yummy pork belly roast that we ate several months. Once we got to pudding there was disappointment again. no information was given on what was unavailable. Unfortunately with all the disappointing moments throughout the evening, did not make the experience enjoyable. I will now think twice about whether I will return and if I suggest it to family and friends.

Delicious roast dinner with a lovely creamy cheesy cauliflower cheese. Polite, prompt service. If you haven’t been before, definitely give it a try, lovely setting and atmosphere too.

From our first meeting with Jane at the Bulls Head where she assured us that everything would be fine to have our wedding there and at further meetings where she stated that we would be looked after and our wedding day would be lovely . We must say it exceeded our expectations from the quality of the food ,the service at the bar ,the setting out of the hall and the resident DJ Bobby Bird-we also had our singer Tony Toole-everything was absolutely fabulous…10 out of 10 It really was a special day and Jane looked after us at all times . Her team was faultless ..everything was perfect right up to the time we left . We would highly recommend. Thank you Jane and all your team for truly making our special day one to remember. Delicious food served hot and at a appropriate pace.

Afternoon tea was lovely, great service by fun staff Shame I had to bring my own milk, especially as The Bull is also a hotel so should cater for other diary needs. But it won’t stop me visiting.

We had a celebration meal for a joint birthday party and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone enjoyed it.

We hosted a funeral reception here and it couldnt have gone better, Thank you to all the team who helped to make it so special.

Staff were polite and very attentive, the restaurant was comfortable and airy. The food was good. I would be happy to eat at the Bull's Head again.

Booked a table for a roast dinner at 5pm. We arrived on time and had to wait a few minutes to be seated. After the drinks order was taken we were advised that they had run out of beef and pork. Drinks arrived and we tried to order chicken and a pie, only to be told they had now sold out of that too. Honestly if you’re offering to serve roast dinners you shouldn’t be running out of anything at 5pm let alone everything ! We’ve eaten here many times before but never again. Absolute shambles. The management and chef should be completely embarrassed.

I phoned to book a table in the front bar area on Saturday, as having a dog means we don’t have access to the dining room area. The lady I spoke to kindly explained that it was first come first served so I asked to book a table in the garden. The list of bookings for the garden had already been finalised but I had a call to say I could have a hut. I was really happy as I’d always wanted to book a hut, and as it had a heater it was perfect for a chillier evening. On arrival though, we were told that our name wasn’t on the list. Not sure why it wasn’t manually added? Luckily there was a table free in the Led Zeppelin hut and the six of us sat there. We just ordered bar food, burgers and wings. The food is brought out to your table but you need to go and get cutlery and napkins from the bar area. Atmosphere as always was good out there, maybe less people than usual because of the weather.

Having eaten here many times, I was left a little disappointed this time around (bank holiday Monday). The food took ages to come out - my 7 year old also commented that this was also the case last time.... The mussels were fairly underwhelming - gritty (not well cleaned), sauce ok but no evidence of shallot etc and chips instead of fries has to be a first... The rack of lamb was sent back as largely consisted of a block of fat and barely any meat (and at 24 quid, that's pretty disgraceful). The beef pie was passable, but cabbage instead of veg seems like an odd pairing. Kids nuggets were pretty feeble. Nobody to welcome on arrival in the restaurant. I think standards have slipped...

We went for Sunday lunch and both the pork and beef were excellent. The roast potatoes not so great but ok but overall food and service were good

We attended the Bingo event yesterday which was a good laugh, being the 1st event there was a few teething problems but the host and the lady helping him was absolutely lovely. We had some snacks which were the Brushetta and a portion of chips which were good size portions and came out really quickly. The only downside of yesterday I would say is that alot of the prizes were alcohol related or alcohol free prizes which as a non drinker wasn't of any interest to me. Also a lady who doesn't appear to work at the establishment was very over powering to the stage of being rude which was quite uncomfortable and a few people had mentioned this. We would definitely return to the venue again.

The Bull's Head is a great pub/restaurant/hotel that welcomes and caters for all age groups. Great food. Excellent and friendly service and always a lively atmosphere. One of our favourite local haunts.

Went on Friday night, with work friends. We pre-booked a cabin in the garden, which seated eight people. We had a couple of drinks, and was intending to order food, but the menu had been updated, and some items had changed from the menu shown online, and was no longer available. So the group decided to eat somewhere else. The pub was very busy (Friday night), there is a carpark which was full . Good atmosphere. We enjoyed our drinks. Thanks

We ordered the soup of the day which would have been made earlier in the day. We asked after 30 minutes if waiting then waiting another 10 minutes just to be told they didn’t have any soup.

Excellent food in comfortable surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. A very enjoyable experience for a large family gathering. Highly recommended.

Been coming here 20 years or more. No longer live locally but it still has that feeling you are somewhere special. Fish and Chips were epic. What made the day though was Gaby 🤩 she was in the posh lounge area…. great service and a sense of humour . Thank you xx

Person serving me, not for the first time, lacked any pleasantries including a basic please or thank you. As an older staff member she must not set any kind of good example to younger staff

We had afternoon tea and it was delicious and good value. We regularly have afternoon tea there and have found the cakes a bit too much and end up taking some home. However this time the cakes were smaller but delicious and we managed to eat all of them with unlimited tea to wash them down.

I had a lovely brunch with my friend. The new menu is fab, can't wait to visit again! The serving team are always attentive, friendly and polite too.

Great venue. Really like the fact that there are several places to eat. Food was good, especially our mains. However, two of our group were disappointed with their choice of pudding but this was quickly rectified. The service was excellent and our waitress Gemma was very personable, efficient and professional. Sat outside afterwards for some more drinks. Lovely area with a great vibe. Will definitely return.

I went for afternoon tea with my friend this Saturday at the bulls head and it was fab! Selection of sandwiches and cakes was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely go again.

Three of us enjoyed an Afternoon Tea at The Bull Hotel last week. It was a very enjoyable experience made possible by the attention to dietary requirements,, the excellent service we received and the quality and variety of food provided. The venue itself is very attractive. I would certainly recommend The Bull.

The Bull at lunchtime is a treasure especially in the Lounge bar where the jewel in the crown is Pauline the best host a visitor could wish for be you on 2 legs or 4!

booking system obviously isn't getting looked at correctly- made a booking and was told they could find it - then was told that their booking system shouldn't have been open and we was left without a reserved table Luckily we managed to find an empty one - we ordered food from their burger shack- after 1 hour 15 mins we still had no food so asked for a refund. Then we noticed a lot of other groups complaining about how long the food was taking. These people all received refunds and also got there food - however we didn't - quite frankly its unfair that they are treating certain customers different and would expect better

It's been a while since we went here, the menu has drastically changed for the worse (make sure you check it before you come). And the food - we had to send a main dish back it was that dire! Won't be coming back anytime soon.

Booked the private room for an event, staff incredibly organised and nothign was too much trouble! They had everything that we had requested ready and helped ensure our event went smoothly.

We had a lovely afternoon tea to celebrate my birthday, the food was delicious and we were offered extra tea, cream, scones etc., and the staff were very friendly. We were so full that we didn't eat anything else all day

*Edited as a refund for the overcharge was made, even though it did take two attempts! I am not normally one to leave negative reviews, but on this occasion I feel compelled to do so. Having checked my receipt today, the day after we dined, I see two added pints have been added! We only had one drink each! Also being Vegan, I ordered a vegan option, only to have roast beef placed in front of me! Put me off ever going back.

We had Sunday dinner in the restaurant, the food and service were both exceptional which is a rare combination these days. The atmosphere was casual yet vibrant and suitable for anyone liking the finer things in life with a modern twist

Booked a table and put my card details down to wait 20 minutes to be seated. No one could find the table, no one seemed to want to help move people from a table that was reserved. When speaking with a manger it was made to be my fault for not asking in the right place when this was not made clear on arrival. The managers service was rude and I was made to feel like I was in the wrong for someone else’s mistake. I was then 30 minutes later asked to move from the table as this was reserved and they had double booked my name. It was shambolic and chaotic. I wouldn’t return. Also the atmosphere of people doing drugs in the toilets when children are around was not pleasant.

An upmarket pub and hotel, but we found the fish and chips underwhelming and very batter heavy. It may have been at least 40% batter. This was the standard on all three of our fish and chips. I don’t want almost half my fish being just batter. That’s not fish.

Great food and service, it was quiet when we dined which isn’t a bad thing sometimes, but a really nice experience, waitresses very welcoming and helpful, food really, really good!

Decided to give this place another try after change of menu. Still a bit limited menu but 4 of us found something to eat. Soup, leek and potato , was good and tasty, as was the buffalo mozzarella starter. Calves liver was over cooked and was just like mush! The chicken and leek pie went down well. Maybe a while before we are back.

I went here few times now 1st time was with my daughter last year , then I went with a friend few weeks ago , both times , food was lovely, staff friendly , nice atmosphere, free parking at rear in carpark also has rooms if you wish to stay over night .

Very noisy so difficult to chat. No serviettes or cutlery. We had to ask. My food intolerance meant I was given a gluten free scone and nor informed.. Was horrible. Sandwiches delicious. Cakes less so.

I come here regularly with my elderly father as it is probably his favourite place to dine out. However, on our most recent visit, the menu had changed and his favourite Chicken Supreme dish was no longer there. He had to make do with some rather overcooked battered haddock. It is a pity that there isn't a single straightforward chicken dish on the menu any more. To be fair and balanced, i had the sirloin steak special, which was delicious, but please can we have some chicken dishes reinstated! Chicken is very popular!

Massive garden, the only place open for food every day of the week! Great atmosphere when the sports is on! Stayed there with my family, the kids had a great time.

I recently organized a surprise birthday party at The Bulls Head's function room, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make the event a success. They were incredibly helpful both before and during the party, assisting with setting up our decorations and arranging our pre-purchased food on a beautifully laid-out table. Additionally, they graciously took care of cutting our cake into easy slices, making everything run smoothly. What truly stood out was their enthusiastic participation in maintaining the surprise until the birthday person arrived. Their commitment to ensuring the event's success was evident in every detail. The service at the private bar was exceptional, with the staff being incredibly friendly and attentive, further enhancing the overall experience. I am genuinely blown away by how seamlessly everything came together and am immensely grateful to the staff at The Bulls Head for their outstanding hospitality. Thank you to the entire team at The Bulls Head for making this celebration one to remember!

Lovely pub , though drinks are expensive and the food portion are small and the burgers where under cooked even though we asked for well cooked and it was cold , the fish had more batter on it not enough chips either had to order extra portions. Food is expensive, the security guards are ignorant and act like they are looking for trouble and they cause a horrible atmosphere. So I won’t be going back sorry.

I was really impressed with everything. Our 2 young waitresses were lovely and so helpful and friendly. The food was really good too. Will definitely be going back soon.

Potentially my favourite pub in England. Incredible service, unbelievable scenery and even better products to match. If I’m lucky enough to get married it will definitely be here!

I used to love this pub, but last night it was full of under age kid's with fake ID it’s definitely not 25s(used to be) I know, as my kids went the same school as some of them! Men’s toilet was swimming in piss and toilet roll all over floor, bar area felt unloved with stick bar & tables. The quieter bar has completely lost its cosy feel as they have taken away the comfy chairs in favour of cheap cafe style table and chairs and has now completely lost its atmosphere doesn’t even look right! It’s definitely not what it used to be. For such an expensive pub they really need to do better.

Bit disappointed with the lunch menu 5 of us sat in the snug bar only 2 ordered food due to the choice lacked interest we had a fish sandwich the batter was too greasy there was hardly any fish inside and the bread fell apart no serviettes to wipe our hands on either …I won’t rush back ☹️

Excellent breakfast and good value.

Gluten free afternoon tea was very disappointing compared with the standard one. Scone was inedible. Sandwich fillings not the same. Service was very good, especially from Melanie.

Always a great experience visiting the Bulls Head, we are local and feel very lucky to have this gem of a pub on our doorstep. A great all round pub.

The Bulls Head is always our go to place for Sunday lunch. This week was very disappointing. We ordered two roast beefs, one fish and chips and one steak and ale pie. The roast beef, was awful, it was so tough it couldn't cut, and was hard to swollow. The veg that you get with it was a dish of cabbage with a few peas added in it. Normally you would get a selection of veg, broccoli, peas, cabbage. All in all the roast dinner was a disappointment. We were offered extra beef, but it was still the same too tough, so that was left as well. We were offered two free desserts, and the not charged for the beef just the veg we ate, but to be honest it was a disappointing meal, as it is always one we usually look forward to.

We held my Mum's wake at The Bull's Head. Couldn't fault it from beginning to end. A great team, who provided first class service, excellent food and made sure it all ran smoothly. Thank you

Went for my mates 24th birthday good atmosphere it want to hectic like most pubs you can say it’s a pub for posh people haha

As soon as we got there we were ignored waiting to be checked in to the restaurant. We then sat down and while waiting for my son wasn’t asked if we wanted a drink for ages. The service was extremely slow considering the restaurant wasn’t full. The cauliflower cheese was forgotten as was a glass of wine. We had those deducted off of the bill. We didn’t bother with desert as we had been there for some time. Extremely disappointing as it was Mother’s Day

Great setup inside and outside and the quality of food and service was excellent. Definitely go back. Also dog friendly.

Had a great family get together and I brought a dog with me. Never been to a more dog friendly hotel. The room had a dog water bowl and a bowl with dog treats in it. There was also a dog bed for him. Around the hotel and bars there were more treats and water plus toys. Also the human food, service and staff were excellent

All of the service that these guys laid on was superb - we stayed one night, had breakfast then had the family for coffee and pastries - then after the funeral we had lunch together ... staff were incredibly helpful and the food was excellent. The decor. and furniture really needs a major reburb. - its really quite tired right now - apart from that we were treated really well.

For the money afternoon tea was great! Atmosphere is cosy, although it was a little noisy. There was so much food, smaller scones would be a good idea and maybe not so much cake a panne cotta thrown into the mix might be good.

Come in for a birthday meal on the 1st March in the restaurant and was greeted with smiles. Melanie, Trish and izzie gave the best customer service, they were kind and caring and catered to our needs exactly, thank you!!!

Excellent food and service. We were a party of 13 and the food came at the same time and was hot. The ladies serving us were helpful and polite. A very enjoyable experience

We decided to book the Bulls Head for my late fathers wake on February 21st from 3 pm. The choice of food is quite extensive and high quality. We used the ballroom and attached bar. The staff looked after us very well. I would certainly be happy to book again. Thank you George and Jayne. Depending on the number of attendees the car park can be a little pot luck.

Wonderful setting and good friendly service but unfortunately the afternoon tea was disappointing. I booked it after a couple of friends had recommended it but the scones were rock hard and the cakes were very dry. The friend I went with had been before and said it had been much better then, so maybe we were just unlucky.

Our little group had a lovely lunch in a nice setting, the service was attentive & friendly. Would recommend it and we will be returning again another time.

Two years later, and a recent return visit to the Bull’s Head by my husband and I was made just as enjoyable as the previous one , thanks to the wonderful staff and excellent standard of accommodation the hotel offers to guests. We stayed four nights & had lovely breakfasts and evening meals from menus offering a good choice of dishes , served by friendly and helpful staff. A special mention goes to Lavinia in the hotel restaurant, who was so friendly and welcoming and made our dining experiences even more enjoyable. The reception staff are so pleasant and always willing to help you with any queries you may have… nothing is too much trouble for them. Whenever we are in the area, The Bull’s Head will , without a doubt, be our first choice hotel. We look forward to our next return visit!

Lovely place. Atmosphere good, waitresses friendly, but service was poor. Waited an hour, after our starters, to receive our mains. Other customers who came after us got served before us. When questioned we were told it was very busy, busier than was anticipated. Surely if that was the case customers should have been told on arrival.

We arrived earlier than our booked time and the staff accommodated us and gave us a table in the Conservatory that we had originally requested! Waitress was lovely and very helpful I had a roast beef dinner which was lovely, however the meat had a lot of fat on it which I did mention at the end of the meal. They offered us a coffee which we declined as we had had a long day and wanted to get home When the bill came they took off the 2 half pints of Lime and Sodas! The waitress said we should’ve had champagne!😅 Overall a good visit but do think they could’ve reduced the bill a little bit more Won’t stop me going though!

Pint of Guinness and glass of wine £18 absolute rip off. I can see why the pub is harf empty, people have one drink now. Due to the greed of the pub.

We went here last night for my nans birthday. This got off badly with a 45 min wait for our starters. Not a waitress in sight. Went to find them and they was all laughing around a bowl of chips out the back. When I questioned why our food was taking so long I was told the kitchens busy with orders from the pub. Very rude young lady clearly incompetent at her job. Firstly don’t have a restaurant if you can’t cope with both. A restaurant by the way that was not even half full. When our starters did arrive one had been forgotten and the soup was stone cold in a red hot bowl that had obviously been in the microwave. After another long wait for mains the service improved slightly as we had complained so we were now frequently being asked if we would like drinks. However the mains were just as dire. Steaks and burgers that were raw in the middle when both asked for well done. Again the food was barely warm. And two steak pies that needed a hammer and chisel to get through the inedible hard pastry. We should’ve known at this point not to bother with desserts. But we ordered anyway. The apple and fig crumble looked like baby food. And the sticky toffee pudding was a dry microwaved sponge with no toffee sauce so dry as old boots. We also ordered two espresso martinis which we were told wouldn’t be long as they had to pop out and get the ingredients. Mix in filthy rotten toilets and a £70 per head bill. We will never be back. Having been frequent customers of the bull for years we had infact tried to book the function room for our grandfathers wake next week. After last nights performance my nan is so relieved you was fully booked for this event as she would have been petrified to what turn out it was going to be. We’re never a family to complain in resteraunts or leave a review to be honest. But this was inexcusable. Don’t waste your time and money!
