Lass of Richmond Hill in Richmond upon Thames

Me, brother, mum and dad had a lovely time celebrating my birthday, the food was far greater than what I was expecting, and the whole place seemed very laid back, it's a place I'd got to again.

Had a wonderful lunch at the Lass today. Food was delicious with good portion size. We had the lovely Alice serving us too, very attentive and efficient. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely, warm, friendly atmosphere. We had Sunday dinner and it was delicious, big servings and the homemade yorkshire puddings were to die for. Service from our waitress Alice was fantastic, she was very attentive. We can't wait to come back.

A pleasure as usual, I love this place and I think it's one of the best pubs in the UK.

Amazing Sunday roast at this pet friendly pub. Beer selection is a bit of let down, but the pudding and burger are on point!

Lovely pub, too bad table service seems to be reserved for the members of the geriatric community. Server made multiple rounds near our table, interacting with two other tables (of older guests) while ignoring us. The lady behind the bar wasn't much better, supporting her head with her hand while talking the order, clearly couldn't be bothered. Edit: I actually think I got food poisoning from the sausages. This is the only thing that only I ate, and my husband and daughter are fine. Please review so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

We had made a reservation and received a friendly greeting and were shown to an excellent table for our son's birthday celebration. The menu contained many great options and we enjoyed excellent food and drink, with great service throughout the meal. We were able to take the family dog, who relaxed in the surroundings.

Excellent Sunday dinner. We came here because the receptionist at our hotel gave it top reviews. Husband and I had two different roasts: vegan and traditional and they were both excellent. Service was also wonderful.

Highly recommend this pub which is just around the corner from the Richmond Hill hotel where we were staying. After a busy day at the rugby we rocked up for a Sunday lunch/dinner. I’d recommend booking for Sunday lunch as it’s extremely popular and I can see why. Quality meat and vegetables, with so much flavour and very reasonably priced for the quality on offer. The staff were lovely despite being rushed off their feet. A new appreciation for the hard workers in this industry who deliver excellent customer service and great quality food despite the long hours they work. We will be back…

Didn’t have the best experience on our last visit, so they certainly put things right. Sunday roast and a couple of pints before going to the rugby. Great vibe, excellent food and drinks service - really enjoyed it.

Wir hatten diverse Vor- und Hauptgerichte und alle waren sehr liebevoll angerichtet, die Portionen waren reichlich und nach Meinung aller Familienmitglieder sehr lecker. Wir waren rundum sehr zufrieden und können dieses Restaurant uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Die Preise sind für die Qualität der Speisen sehr moderat. Alle Daumen hoch 👍

Lovely Place near Richmond Park. We had a lovely sunday and the best Sunday Roast. Prices are in line with the City. Alice was wonderful with us.

Lovely pub, great service but really disappointed that hardly anything was left on the menu at 7pm on a Saturday. No fish and chips, no pie option and even no steak option - plus my partner couldn’t order the other fish meal as that was also unavailable- we both had to settle for a burger. Not great and a real shame as we were really looking forward to trying other dishes as opposed to a burger! A shame.

This is really another follow-up to my previous visits and reviews. Consistently good food and service. The shin of beef pie was superb. An easy 5 - Star recommendation again.

A perfect Sunday lunch with family and friends! I can’t recommend enough. Such a warm welcome from the entire team. Service was slick without being rushed and the food was absolutely delicious. Fresh, hot, plentiful and clearly made with love by a team of passionate foodies. Thank you, I’ll be back.

Valentine’s Day was made all the more special by visiting the Lasso. Tasty food, amazing service (thanks Alice!) and a spot by the fire. We look forward to returning very soon!

A really special Valentine's lunch at the Lass, service really wonderful and personable. Fish and chips great, very good NZ Sauvignan Blanc suggestion by the waiter. Pear pudding not as good as the Sticky Toffee, there wasn't really enough to it. The setting, service and atmosphere with the fires are the prime points of attraction for me as well as certain amazing dishes, overall definitely a place that will draw us back time and time again!

Always have a yummy meal and great service at the Lass O'Richmond Hill. This time we both had a beef roast dinner which was delicious, and came with the best yorkshire pudding! Some more green veg would have been welcome. Poached pear dessert was also great. Service was super efficient; in fact we had been seated and finished our main course before our booking was even due to start (got there 40 minutes early)! Lovely relaxed atmosphere with the fireplace, and dogs and youngsters welcome, but not noisy. Great place to come after a walk round Richmond Park.

Alice served us and she was wonderful throughout! They managed to squeeze us in without a booking. The food was absolutely wonderful, we enjoyed the Sunday roast immensely. 10/10 would recommend and we’ll be coming again for sure😍

Had a great birthday meal on the 08/02/2004, we were served by the lovely irish waitress named Alice i think. Great atmosphere and food and service is second to none.

Fantastic fish & chips! Chips really good, not soggy re-heated but hot, freshly cooked, crispy and soft inside as you might expect from one of the best. The fish was amazing, not smothered in batter, challenging you to find the fish inside. Batter was amazingly thin & crispy with perfect fish inside. I have no connection with this place. Just stopped for a fish & chips and blown away with the result. On top of that I was able to warm up in front of a real fire.

Lovely atmosphere and good food but service was very slow. Fortunately we weren’t pushed for time. Despite notifying them we were bringing two well behaved dogs they decided the table allocated to us was inappropriate to have dogs at as it was in the middle of the restaurant area. We were moved to a booth in the bar area which was fine but this meant ordering drinks and food from the bar. I suspect they were somewhat over stretched and possibly forgot about us as we were tucked away.

Came in on NYD for a pub lunch with some friends, atmosphere was great (very glad we booked in advance!). The food was INCREDIBLE, really recommend the sausages and the mash is incredible - really lovely and helpful staff and they were quick with findings out information regarding allergies, will be back for sure!

We had our a nice family meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We came last year with some friends and really enjoyed it and had to come again especially around Christmas time.

Great pub in a nice location with private parking, very good food with great portions. Why not 5* rating? The blonde waitress. No smile. Just a person with zero level of passion and in fact making it unpleasant. Other than that, fantastic experience!

Excellent Pub Roast, great service, no hassle, plenty of space to relax, lovely buzzing family atmosphere, good value, super location for a walk in the Park. Worth travelling from Oxfordshire. Zero alcohol beer for us drivers, good selection of wine and beers for the others.

First attempt to have dinner in the pub was just awful! Memeber of staff made us basically leave because the table we've sat on "was reserved". No receptionist on the entrance, even we have waited for a bit to be seated, no reserved sign on the table either.Three members of staff passed by us while we were taking the table and not one has mentioned all the dining area is book for the evening. I've asked if there is another table to move at, and this lady has sent me out to search for a table, however my family was stood up wandering for a table. Me already frustrated told her that was very rude, her response was "okay"(super arrogant) . I've worked in hospitality before and never ever have stood up people without a table and made them leave the place. Disappointing, arrogant and miserable looking staff. However the place looked great for dining out.

Had some drinks and cheese in the afternoon. Ordered sourdough bread. Two tiny slices came with too much butter. Price GBP5.50!! Service confirmed, that was the correct portion. Absolutely incredible! A whole slice of quality sourdough from Ole & Steen will cost GBP5.50 retail price. That is a ten-fold!!! I never complain, but being from the industry, this is absolutely ridiculous!

Everything you want from a solid English pub, two minute walk from the entrance of Richmond park. We had just done a 3 hour walk round the park and came here for a big pub dinner and a few pints and it did not disappoint. Big portions. Came out hot. Super tasty. Open fire in the pub. Loads of beers to choose from. Board games. Had it all. I had the fish and chips and would highly recommend. Gorgeous stuff.

Uninspiring menu. Very disappointing, if you don't eat meat( due to health issues), you are forced down a very basic vegan route - I'm not a vegan and the menu was therefore very limited and basic - vg burger or vg Feta which is awful - did the chef not taste test it ?! Come on, you can be more creative and accommodating than this surely ! Otherwise, friendly staff, cosy pub, great location.

we had a lovely Sunday lunch here and have been once before. The food is delicious and all the staff are very friendly. We had a dog barking quite a lot during our last visit and had some trouble hearing who we were with, however would definitely recommend, lovely pub!

Beef was chewy, 3 cold potoatoes. Half a carrot and one tiny parsnip. A spoonful of cabbage and a spoonful of mash. Disappointed honestly. Not worth the £60 we paid for 2.

Absolutely lovely atmosphere, incredibly cosy yet still spacious. Beautiful decor. The food menu is incredible, with the usual items (sausage and mash, pies, burgers) as well as more unusual dishes. My partner and I celebrated our post proposal lunch here. We were made to feel very special and welcome by Josh. Alice who was our waitress for the afternoon was very friendly and helpful not just with the service but by also giving us recommendations of good places to visit during the Christmas period. Overall, very pleasant visit and would highly recommend.

Booked a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at the Lass for our wedding anniversary. The food was great value for money including wine pairing with all four courses. The special menu was American-style with pumpkin, creamed sweetcorn and pecan pie along with turkey and all the trimmings. I’ve been to quite a few of Richmond’s Youngs pub but this was new to me and I’m delighted to have discovered it. The modest frontage was a Tardis hiding the large dining area, garden and real fires behind. Best of all, they were serving my seasonal favourite Winter Warmer beer! I’ll be back.

I have been coming to Lass O’Richmond for the last year and it just gets better and better. It was newly refurbished sometime back and is fresh but maintains its original charm. I love to stop by here in the afternoon walking through Richmond park for tea and a cheese plate and I recently attended their Thanksgiving dinner which was awesome. Poached pear with clotted cream ice cream was a highlight. 10/10 recommend to adopt this place as your local pub or take a trip to visit.

Visited for Thanksgiving Dinner just tonight. As an American, I found the food was great and decent value for the price of the Thanksgiving Dinner menu and a good reflection of classic Thanksgiving fare. However we didn’t experience the best service. There was very slow service that was honestly not attentive at all. We had to ask for water and drinks multiple times after giving a 15 minute grace period to wait between each. The Thanksgiving menu was also given with a wine paring with each course, yet each course was given with about two sips of wine in a new glass (much less than a standard 125ml small glass of wine). If this was the case for each table tonight, it should have been more clearly explained on the website and via booking which was not shared. I would like to think this feedback is taken on board.
