Lass of Richmond Hill in Richmond upon Thames

Lovely atmosphere and good food but service was very slow. Fortunately we weren’t pushed for time. Despite notifying them we were bringing two well behaved dogs they decided the table allocated to us was inappropriate to have dogs at as it was in the middle of the restaurant area. We were moved to a booth in the bar area which was fine but this meant ordering drinks and food from the bar. I suspect they were somewhat over stretched and possibly forgot about us as we were tucked away.

Walk with friends in Richmond Park, followed by a lovely lunch. Great ambience, food and people. Definitely recommended.

We had our a nice family meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We came last year with some friends and really enjoyed it and had to come again especially around Christmas time.

The food, service, atmosphere, and beverages were excellent. We really enjoyed ourselves and the conversation with our server.

Went for dinner here a couple of days ago and was great. Our server, Liam recommended the short rib which was to die for and made our evening really enjoyable. Will be back!

An important anniversary lunch with friends and family, made wonderful by the attentive hospitality of Mia and a lovely Irish lady, serving great wines & food at this tremendous gastropub before settling in for the Rugby. Outstanding!

Lovely pub near Richmond Gate for Richmond park

Phenomenal food and great service. I had the pheasant, rabbit and venison terrine for starter and it was very good. For main I had intended to order the steak but they didnt have it. So I ordered the guinea fowl with wild mushrooms and cream sauce, which probably isnt the kind of thing I would usually go for. When it came it really blew me away. Absolutely delicious. Crispy skin with nicely cooked guinea fowl with a beautiful mushroom sauce and really tasty wild mushrooms. It all sat on top of a large slab in of crusty bread which caused all the sauce and flavour to soak into the bread. Pure genius that resulted in a unique and delicious dish. I ate a decent amount of my partners pie to and this was also very good, lots of nice meaty chunks. I had chocolate brownie for desert which was excellent, nice and soft with flavoursome vanilla ice cream. Our server Liam was very attentive and polite and made sure wed enjoyed our food which we all had. We actually came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had the roasts which were also excellent, i very nearly left a reviews then. I felt I had to after tonights meal. 10/10 from me :)

A lovely pub lunch as a pit stop on our autumn walk around Richmond Park.

Food was cold and without salt. In terms of service, no cutlery was provided (“you can get it by yourself on the cupboard behind you”). When we asked if they could charge our phone they said no charger was available (there was one behind the counter)

A lovely location, and great pub, went for Sunday dinner, been a few times for drinks, inside is always too hot, uncomfortably warm, service was average, food was ok but not great, a lot of pubs in Richmond serve a better roast, the lamb was flavourless. Remaining positive price was reasonable, and the vibe inside was really nice.

Sunday roast main course is always great! However I was very disappointed with my starter and dessert. I told you in advance of my dietary issues and found my choice very very limited on the two courses. The vegan onion starter was uninteresting and the poached pear tasted of nothing but pear, and a little stale. So I’ll return but just for the roast.

Sadly gone rapidly downhill since our first visit (which was amazing). Unfortunately this time by 2pm no beef wellington left on the menu, service incredibly slow, food was average at best. Roast beef chewy, tough as whole meal just about warm. Shame. Trying to fill to many covers and seemingly jot enough staff (or food).

Made us wait for a table, took ages for them to clean table and told us waiting time since ordering food would be approx 40mins. Ok with that. When i go to the counter to order they say no taking orders for 1h and if i did it would be 2h for my food to arrive. Waste of time and very rude. Also they charge a 12.5% service fee WHEN YOU HAVE TO ORDER FROM THE BAR AND BRING YOUR OWN BEER. Pub food at its finest

I came here to meet up with friends from Toulouse, France. His father worked here back in the 50th. He always said would like to go to the pub where his father works when he was young. The manager greeted us and gave us the best table. The restaurant looks nice. The food tasted good. Love the way they serve the food as family services. It has plenty of parking too. We went out for a walk at Richmond Park to burn the calories then back again to the restaurant for drinks. This place is popular and crowded. Lots of space indoors and outdoors. Either front outdoor by the street or at the back area near the car park. Would love to come back again to try another menu.

Beautiful place, great service and yummy vegan options! Caters really well to allergies and dog friendly! Can't wait to go back :)

We had a lovely lunch here today. The food was really delicious and the service was friendly and excellent (thanks Joshua). They paid special attention to my daughter's food allergy. Our dog was made to feel very welcome. The pub itself is lovely and relaxed and is right next to the park. We will definitely be going there again soon!

Have just had a fabulous roast sharer at the Lass O Richmond Hill. We went as 5 of us and got the King Charles roast sharer for 4 and the Welsh lamb hogget roast. Absolutely amazing food, great gravy (hard to come by nowadays) and a huge cauliflower cheese. My favourite was the porchetta on the King Charles sharing roast, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Amazing service too, was bustling and busy with great atmosphere but still felt looked after. Big thank you to the Lass team!

Delicious Sunday roast here! Service was amazing, all the food came out so quickly. Would definitely recommend. Just sad that there was no cauliflower cheese left 😭😂

Had the best time on Sunday. The atmosphere was amazing - so warm and welcoming. Every table was full but you’re not rammed in really close to another table like you are in some places. Food was amazing - highly recommend the Tomahawk steak!!! Service was the best I’ve had in a long while - extremely professional, warm and welcoming.

Gorgeous pub with a good selection of beers and nice Sunday roast. There’s also plenty of space to sit inside and outside. I can’t give it 5 stars for 2 reasons: 1) Since when a bottle of Reserva Rioja that’s up to £14 at Tesco becomes £45 on the menu? When it’s a product you don’t have to process… 2) Since when you ask for a tip on the bill when you’ve already added 12.5% as service charge?

Consistently excellent! We shared a Tomahawk steak which was quite superb and cooked to perfection. Service is always great here and a notch above other local pub restaurants. Thanks!

Lass O’Richmond Hill is an amazing pub in Richmond where we celebrated our silver anniversary. Unlike all the other pubs I’ve visited, Lass O’Richmond Hill found a great space at the front of the pub, reserving all the tables we needed and more. Joshua, the events deputy, looked after us and our guests for the entire 5 hours. The other staff were also incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service throughout the evening. But the food was truly exceptional! It was not only delicious but also incredibly creative. They served small fish and chips on adorable little paper boats as canapés, as well as slices of roast beef on a whole Yorkshire pudding with a delicious horseradish sauce. I can’t thank Joshua, Chris, and the rest of the staff on duty last weekend enough. We had the most memorable night, and my guests absolutely loved the place, the service, and the food. If you’re looking for the perfect venue for your party in Richmond, Lass O’Richmond Hill is the place to be! ❤️🎉

Sunday roasts don’t get better than this! We’ve just moved into the area and couldn’t hope for a more welcoming pub. Joshua and the bar lady were really friendly and accommodating to our dogs and our specific food requests. The whole pub just has a great vibe and everyone there seemed lovely🤩

Perfect location post walk around the park. We came for lunch at just past 12 and it was lovely and quiet but clearly popular as lots of reserved tables for later. We sat outside (inside in down really well and I was envious of the interiors!) and although backs on to the car park, it’s doesn’t feel it as there is enough foliage covering it. Food wise…a really really well done fish and chips. The batter was so light and seasoned well. Triple cooked chips also a star! My sister also enjoyed her burger and raved about the chips. All in a perfect little spot.

We walked up Nightingale Lane from The Petersham Hotel, where we are staying, for a pub dinner. The bar server recommended Game Pie for Merelyn and so I settled for pork sausages and mash, which I knew well from previous visits. we finished with Apple Crumle with Ice Cream. It was totally delicious.

This is really a follow-up to my previous visits and reviews. Met friends for lunch there yesterday (30 Sep). As mentioned before, the standard of service is consistently good in all areas. An easy 5 - Star recommendation!

Fabulous roast dinner, excellent service.

Took a group of 10 people after our Soulwalk to The Lass around 7pm. We had a wonderful time with great food and drinks, all delivered timely and courteously. I was surprised and sad to see it so quiet on a Friday evening. It’s such a beautiful warm and friendly pub.

I would have given my fish pie a 5 star review but I had a raw prawn in the middle of it which was a shame as the rest of it was delicious…

I went for a late lunch on Sunday with my mum, and we were seated immediately without reservation and made to feel very welcome. We had two roast beef dinners and cheesecakes for dessert, and without a doubt it was the best roast we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Shoutout to all the amazing staff who were extremely friendly: Liam, Chris, Robbie, Hannah, Harry and Josh!

I took my Mum to the pub for her 80th Birthday. The staff were kind and attentive. The Roast was amazing and it was very chilled for my son who doesn’t always love being in restaurants or pubs.

We had such an amazing Sunday lunch at the Lass O Richmond! The service was excellent and the food was fabulous. We’ve visited many times over the years, but haven’t been since it was refurbished 11 months ago. Its much improved and has a really lovely vibe. Its the perfect place to visit with family and friends pre or post a walk round Richmond Park.

‘Sam’ (supervisor) level is the bench mark every customer facing establishment should reach. Fussy as I am, Sam proactively offers me the glass I prefer remembered from weeks ago … all alongside manager, lovely Saib who turned up the Olympics in our cosy corner and we had a wonderful evening which felt like home. A relaxed, clean space with fabulous food, outstanding service and right next to Richmond park (if day visit obviously). Thank you for making our night x See you soon x

Great roasts... loved the mega feast of all 3 roasts

Great spot and we were served by joshua and he was amazing. The food was gorgeous and the size of the meal generous and the service excellent. It’s dog friendly and there’s water for them everywhere. I definitely recommend this place. Clean and friendly.

Had my husbands 50th birthday party here. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and all round great location for meeting friends and family.

Joshua and the team were great. Very accommodating of our group of teachers and parents from school. Even put the music on for us. Will return soon.

Had a fantastic dinner here, the food is far better than any usual pub food and the service was excellent. We were looked after by Alice who did a great job and helped us make some alterations to the dishes. Would recommend!

Solid Sunday roasts and lovely outdoor space for a sunny day.

I visited this pub today and had an overall decent experience. The atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly, which made the visit pleasant. I ordered a burger and fries. While the fries were really good, the burger was just okay. The patty wasn’t the best quality and the burger lacked flavor. It wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out either. However, given the welcoming environment, I might give it another try with a different dish next time.

I cannot believe we haven’t eaten here before but certainly will be in the future. We went for Father’s Day lunch at 16:00, so at the end of a very busy service, but service and food were excellent. One of our party required Gluten free and the knowledge and approach from the pub, was again as a good as we have experienced. I was told they have a new head chef, who seems to be doing a great job. I don’t we are an easy bunch to please, but not a complaint to be heard, just clean plates and happy faces. 😀

A stone's throw from Richmond Park, we enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast with pork. We were seated on the terrace, sheltered from the urban hustle and bustle.

The Sunday roast is so good! The staff couldn't be more helpful and deal with food allergies/intolerances without issue. Really nice pub with a great atmosphere.

First visit to the Lass. Wonderful lunch on Sunday, delicious roasts, trimmings and veg (and desserts!). Beautiful pub, attentive and efficient staff. The Lass is well located for awalk in Richmond park afterwards, to build up a fresh thirst and come back for late afternoon drinks!

Restaurant has such a fantastic chic-pub feel about it with such a buzzing atmosphere. The roast beef Sunday lunch was incredible and the staff are just ad friendly. Highly recommend for amazing food, service, and modern vibe.
