Awesome pub with great beer and even better food

Had a lovely meal here, the service was excellent, the setting and view was really good, and the staff kindly gave a card and desert to my mother for her 70th birthday. It’s very expensive but it is a lovely venue and meal.

Very good food. Good Atmosphere. Good customer service. If book a table upstairs. Near the window. U can see the river. We went there for a Special Celebration.

Disappointed ! Pretty poor effort. Ordered our food and drinks and went to sit outside on the large riverside garden area. We were given a bleeper, which would go off when our food was ready. It didn’t ! A member of staff came looking for us, which was good, but i explained the bleeper hadn’t gone off, she was completely disinterested and almost made me think she didn’t actually believe me, or we had caused inconvenience when it wasn’t our fault, surely, I’m sorry about that wouldn’t have been too much. I imagine the food was reheated, so my wife had two very overcooked eggs and the roast meat I had was tasteless and tough. The thing that irked us most was the attitude of a senior member of staff. Sadly won’t be returning.

Fantastic service. Manager was brilliant. Given great service, disability inclusive and the pride cocktail was amazing. Gluten free menu was fabulous. Never felt so welcome in a restaurant before.

Beautiful view of the quay, food was delicious however the burger was a bit overcooked for my liking (my fault I should have asked for medium or more rare). Only improvement I can suggest would be to ask people how they would like their burger done. Also, the hot honey sauce was gorgeous but the name was a bit misleading as I thought it was spicy. Again, my mistake but perhaps it should be named something different. Will definitely come here again though. Scampi was absolutely divine, portion sizes were excellent.

Popped in for a pint and a light snack. The beer was good and the loaded fries tasty, especially welcome on a hot day on the nice beer garden.

Very good food but we had to wait one hour for food

I know late for Sunday lunch 4.45 food was Luke warm roast potato’s just dipped in hot oil no t 😌

Lovely traditional pub warm welcome and great food. We were a family of 4 and had a wonderful Sunday roast with all the trimmings. Will be going back soon

Just had the Sunday roast at The Red Lion and it was absolutely incredible. Perfectly cooked meat, fluffy roast potatoes, rich gravy, and the Yorkshire puddings were next-level—crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. You can tell everything is homemade with care. The portions were generous, and the veg was fresh and full of flavour. It’s the kind of meal that makes you want to cancel all plans and settle in for the afternoon. Add to that the cosy pub atmosphere and the friendly, attentive staff (special thanks to the team who made sure we had everything we needed), and it made for the perfect Sunday. We’ll definitely be back—best roast we’ve had in ages!
