The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

I have been going to Sweetmeats for chocolates for the special occasion for 30 years now and every time has been memorable. Most recently I bought several boxes of chocolates for the staff at the Dialysis Centre and so much were they enjoyed that several staff have since made the journey across from Cambridge just to stock up. The selection is exquisite, the portions gargantuan, the flavours sublime with a wonderful range of colour and texture that is mouth-watering. It takes all my reserves of self-restraint to restrict myself to just the special occasion or by now I would be huge! Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful traditon of the chocolate-makers' art, with produce that so beautifuly matches the heritage and architecture of our surroundings. Another throughly enjoyable visit, would recommend to others as always & made revisiting a priority as I was around the area again. The Manager Mark’s excellent customer service was a continued highlight. Leading his team well again he left me with a continued positive impression of your company.

Great all day breakfast. Very welcoming to our dog, she even got a complimentary sausage. Quite busy as it was a Sunday. Lots of visitors for a Sunday roast

Just had lunch here, beautiful village pub, landlord and landlady present very chatty and friendly, the food was excellent, extremely upmarket, if I could recommend anything have the KFC for starter, cauliflower in a sauce to die for and sea bass for main, cooked to perfection, the chef came out and told us his history of where he worked previously, chilled atmosphere with a wonderful reasonably priced menu, highly recommend

Second visit here and again the food was superb and staff friendly. A great find with plenty of tables and good service. Look forward to our next visit.

This is always a pit-stop on our trips to Yarmouth. This time was no exception. We came and had lunch, chicken burger and fries, which was lovely, and then moved on. What I always notice about La Continental is it is always tidy and clean. It's a big restaurant, but plates and mess are cleaned away swiftly. After going back in for a drink later on whilst the other half was choosing some boots, I got chatting to the owner who told me it was their 30th Anniversary that weekend. I have been going into that café/restaurant with my partner, and before that, my parents, for 30 years. Happy Birthday, La Continental, may you be there for us to visit for another 30 years!!

Had a fantastic meal at the pub restaurant this evening. Guy the Duty Manager assisted us with the perfect table (we had not booked a reservation) at the window. His service was fantastic...the meal just spot on Thankyou

we had been recommended this restaurant, so was looking forward to it. sorry but very disappointed had a toasted turkey sandwich and chips with gravy, the turkey was a piece of very chewy cardboard (couldnt call it meat). the sandwich itself was very dry. when the young lady collected my plate she asked if all was well i said no it was dry she said there was gravy to dip it in. never dipped a sandwich in gravy before. not very helpful, shant be going again

We recently spent 6 nights at this hotel. We had originally planned to stay 4 nights but added 2 more nights as we were really enjoying ourselves. The hotel was the main building and outside rooms. Our room was the standard double but large very clean with all the amenities. The breakfasts were excellent, buffet or served depending on what day of the week. Evening meals were in a smaller bar style restaurant. Meals were first rate All the staff (Reception, Breakfast, Evening meal) were first class and credit to Best Western. The local area was beautiful. We both would love to return. RECOMMENDED!! 5 star.

Food was very disappointing. It was dry, tasteless & made with little effort. Staff attitude was fine, but wouldn’t go back or recommend here.

Service terrible we waited an hour and 20 minutes for food after ordering even after asking how long it would be after 45mins. The glasses were dirty and had to be changed. The food was nice when we eventually got it but not worth the wait! It’s such a shame as it is a lovely setting in the conservatory but would definitely not eat here again. It maybe ok to go for drinks but the restaurant service is terrible

Great fish and chips! Dined in the restaurant and came back again for a takeaway as it was so nice! Best fish and chips we had in the area.

Great traditional pub with limited opening times

Foods wonderfull, but the waitress I had needs to learn some basic manners. Telling a customer to sit instead of asking..

A real gem in Cromer, lovely Pizza, wine, beer and cocktails. Staff were lovely and very dog friendly. We really enjoyed the music and atmosphere.
