Most staff were excellent and very helpful, room comfy with everything you need. We had an accessible room which was vast but bathroom should not be classed a accessible, it was fine for us but not much room for 2 full sized people if anyone needs support. Hotel guide in your room vastly out of date so please ignore especially the first menu as this is not available. Breakfast could be lovely as good quality food was used but scrambled eggs were more runny liquid than scrambled, bacon was held over a candle flame for a few seconds, toast needed to go through the toaster twice to get in almost crunchy. The sausages were lovely. One morning we were not allowed in the room until dead on 7.30 but even then virtually nothing was cooked or prepared. We needed an early start as had an appointment so we just had to have cereal. You have no available salt, pepper or sauces & have to ask for them every time. Dinner menu very sparse with very limited choices, nothing at all for kids, one night we had pasta bolognaise which was very very bland with no taste at all. The burger came with 8 chips on a tea plate. Another night 2 young staff were mucking about, we wanted dessert & tried repeatedly to catch their eye, after 20 mins we left without even being able to pay but I wasn't bothered as I knew I would pay at the reception, I was more Infuriated than anything. We checked out after 4 nights and will probably not go back. While waiting at reception to hand back our key cards there was a Man making a complaint then after him a lady with a list as long as her arm!

The main hotel accommodation was very good. The Accessible accommodation was out of the main building which meant our family member had to cross the car park in a wheelchair for meals etc. not really accessible. The restaurant staff were pleasant but could do with training. The staff were helpful and pleasant.

Lovely rooms. Friendly and courteous staff , very welcoming. A special thank you to Pyria who went above and beyond on Wednesday 3rd April. Due to an issue in the kitchen with gas problems she was dealing with food issues, despite being under pressure she handled things with the utmost professional conduct and always kept a smile in her face and couldn't apologise enough. She is worth her weight in gold Thank You Pyria for making our stay worthwhile and thank you also to Katie Pye for organising an extra day at short notice for us 😊

Staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We took our 3 year old dog Abba with us and the large grounds were available to exercise her for short walks and toilet breaks. Our room was outside the main hotel building so it was very useful for quick access to the outside without having to worry about travelling down long corridors and numerous internal doors. The food was to a good standard and a real ale was on tap. All in all a pleasant 2 night stay whilst visiting family nearby.

Disgusting customer service I booked by email the honeymoon suite and when I emailed back to confirm 24 hours later I received an email saying this has been booked by another guest so upon a phone call I was lied to twice and given two different versions of why the specific room that I had booked was now not available the person on the desk has emailed me to tell me that the room had only just been booked online by somebody else and then went on to tell me that actually this was booked in November when I questioned her to why she was telling me two different versions she could not give me an answer this is not the first time I’ve been let down by this hotelHowever I thought I would give them another opportunity every time I seem to book this room I get told that it’s either not available or somebody else has booked it this has happened upon arrival at one point the last time we stayed we were given breakfast in a carrier bag which was completely inadequate and again our query was not resolved by the desk staff. I have had to contact the head office yet again to lodge a complaint as the desk staff refused to let me speak to the manager this is disgusting customer service if you read the other reviews you’re fine I am not alone on this and I will not be using them again

My wife & I recently booked a 2 night break using a voucher. Our room in the main hotel was excellent (a little in the Premier Inn style). Plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits provided & topped up. The staff were welcoming & the king size bed comfy. The bath room was fine, the shower excellent, although some signs of water damage that could do with repair. We ate dinner twice in Knights Bar, limited choice but good food, well served. Not such a good selection of wine - as waiting for a delivery! All in all a pleasant stay & would not hesitate to rebook if in the area. As an aside the outside, motel style rooms were in process of being upgraded - so should be better in future (past references).

We stayed here about 4 years ago in the four poster suite with the jacuzzi. We recently stayed and we were amazed to see the same old knackered sofa and the bed that still made soooo much noise. I do love the old feeling of the room with the beams but the furniture could really do with a change up. We ended up having to put the mattress on the floor as the bed creaked loudly with every slight movement. Please get a new bed frame!!! I know the four poster is beautiful but guests want to sleep and well it kills the mood for anything else! ;-) The Jacuzzi was nice. The room would benefit from a smart TV with Netflix guests can log into. Just a few little things could make this room so much more amazing. We ordered food to our room for dinner and breakfast everything was delicious, hot and well presented. We didn't use any other facilities as we just wanted a relaxing stay to ourselves. Staff were helpful friendly and polite. Would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for the noisey bed frame.

The good bits: easy parking, clean bathroom, good quality towels, clean bedding. Decent breakfast. The bad bits: ripped curtains, stained carpets (in bedroom but also the public areas such as Knights Bar), marks on wall in room (dirt/damp not too sure). Shower controls tricky so could not turn temperature down. All a bit tired looking. Service at breakfast lack lustre- a more proactive approach would make it a better experience. There were lots of guests so hopefully they will be able to invest in improving things soon. It’s not a bad place just very average.

We booked for a week via Booking.com and received confirmation from them, and also from the hotel. The week before our stay we went to check the hotel. We were told they had no booking for us and Booking.com were at fault. (This was not true). They could not accommodate us for the full week as they were fully booked on the Saturday of our stay. We were also to be relegated to the outside rooms as we had a small dog. We were told these were in the process of being renovated. When we were shown inside we could see why this was necessary. This was very disappointing as we had booked it several months before and were expecting the superior accommodation advertised. There was no mention of an apology, We did not feel like valued guests, more like a nuisance, and we have no intention of returning for a repeat of this poor customer service.

We had a two night at Brome Grange whilst my wife undertook a craft workshop in Diss Frankly the experience was not one to remember. Our room was located in a motel style arrangement and was musty, smelled of dog and was extremely tired The bathroom went downhill from there! The staff were friendly albeit totally understaffed which meant any requested needed to be repeated, sometimes more than once Service in the restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner, took an eternity and was totally disorganised The only saving grace that prevents the lowest possible rating was the quality of the food when it did eventually arrive Not an experience to be repeated!

Really disappointed with this stay. I paid for a superior room, but believe me there’s nothing superior about it. It’s in the outhouse, basically a glammed up shed. The TV is rubbish signal, every time traffic goes past, every 30 seconds... the signal is messing up so it’s unwatchable!! The bathroom is tiny and cramped and not the cleanest, and to make things even worse the room is infested with spiders! I had to buy raid just to be able to try and get through the night, not ideal when you’re not a fan of spiders! I asked reception if I could have a full refund if I managed to find somewhere else which they agreed they could do, but being such short notice I’m unable to find anywhere close by with vacancies.

Food was good, the gala dinner on NYE was too long over 3 hours, needed more serving staff. Great band got everyone involved. The NYE event was a bit disorganised, 2 dining rooms with everyone expecting to be in the tithe barn that couldn’t be accommodated. Went with a group of about forty people for a Christmas lunch. We were shown into the Barn which was absolutely freezing We asked for more heating and they brought out one tiny radiator that made no difference at all. Most people kept their coats on for the meal, which when it came was cold. Quite well cooked and would have been good if hot. The dessert wasnt worth having. the christmas pudding portion was very small and served with cold cream not hot custard. the trio was so small we couldnt use a dessert spoon but had to commandeer the teaspoons out of the cups and saucers. The Eton mess had no meringue in it to speak of.The fruit salad was just about all apple, not exotic fruit as advertised. Even the tea when it came was luke warm. Couldnt get out quick enough, to get in the car and get the heaters going full blast. Would not recommend it to anyone.

Show to a converted annex on the side of a busy road . The staff tried to find us better rooms but said the only one available in the main building would be noisier . Reception staff were very friendly and helpful . However rooms 43 and 44 are not good . Doors into rooms off courtyard are flimsy with no additional lock . This bothered my six foot son so not just a female concern . I am sure it is a fairly safe area but at night additional tangible security would be nice . Spiders in both bedrooms , overhanging entrance to doors was peeling paint and cobwebs so didn’t feel welcoming . Bed comfy , nice fluffy towels but lack of proper mirrors near a plug meant kneeling in the floor above the stairs to dry my hair . No soap in the bathroom , shower tray not draining very well . Switches only on one side of the bed . Curtains not fitted correctly . However the road noise !! You feel like you are sleeping in the middle of the road and it didn’t go quieter until 1am . Very little soundproofing in the room . Basically not fit for purpose .

Friendly reception staff, very friendly bar staff. That's the good bit, ordered a sandwich and drink at lunch time, sat in bar area, listening to 'chef'? swear - went for the simple chicken and bacon sandwich, it arrived lacking the bacon. Again staff very helpful. The area near the bar is dirty, worn out and needs some money spending on it. If you want a warren of corridors - a bar area that needs a clean and paint. You will love it here. Again, the staff were the asset, shame the owners don't look after the public facing areas, such as the bar. Lunch trade would probably pick up. Oh, the dryer didn't work in the loo.

Had an amazing night as always at the wonderful Brome Grange. Welcome bubbles and canapés on arrival and sat down to an amazing dinner. Food well presented and hot considering the number of guests attending the evening. All bar and waiting staff very helpful and pleasant. Our table of 8 then enjoyed a boogie on the dance floor by an amazing band called "The Muppits" had everyone dancing and guests even came through from the Courtyard Restaurant to join in. Bubbles at midnight saw the new year in - a wonderful time had by all. We shall be back and thank you again for a night to remember.

Keys to room don't work. Ok after 4 trys. No heat. Provided with noisy small fam heater. Works but irritating. Staff not very well informed. No info on evening meal times without asking in reception. Or about breakfast new year day. Apparently its a brunch at 10.

On the spur of the moment we opted for a Sunday Lunch out and turned up to see if they had a space... they did! The lunch was amazing. The quality of the cooking was fantastic, top marks to the chef and the team. Presentation was first class, beautifully served. The food was piping hot and really tasty. Sometimes in other restaurants vegetables aren't always served hot but these were and plenty of them too. The portions were generous. Service was excellent. We had coffee in the adjoining lounge area and had a quick browse of the newspapers. A great way to spend a Sunday. Thank you!

Stayed there for two nights, stayed in the main brome suite, was absolutely stunning, gorgeous four poster bed, twin shower and a luxurious spa jacuzzi bath. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they went out of their way to be helpful even supplying a full bottle of bubble bath . Will definitely be staying here again at the first chance I get, fantastic.

We were so well looked after right from our first enquiry through to our check out on Sunday. A special thank you to Julie, Emma and Cameron and all the team you did a brilliant job and should be very proud of yourselves Just wish we could do it all again. Jenny and Phil

Professional, welcoming staff in lovely dining room. Fantastic food, especially the rib eye steak. The chef even wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on my dessert plate! Plenty of choice for breakfast too.

Stayed here on a Great Little Breaks romantic deal. Had an amazing time. Stayed in the courtyard rooms. Very comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Particularly the young lady on reception who did everything possible to get us a taxi for the sat night. No easy task when Sundown festival was on. The food was amazing, still talking about it now. Everything was divine. The chefs signature croissant breakfast was the best I have ever tasted. Please don't do buffet breakfast (apparently they do when lots of people staying) the personal breakfast touch is second to none and ensures that you can have your eggs cooked whichever way you like. The rooms were very comfortable and had everything that was needed. Perfectly situated for touring in the car and lots of lovely places to visit. However, you cannot walk anywhere as no footpaths and a very busy road.We will definitely return as am sure we will receive a very warm welcome by dedicated staff and look forward to trying all those delicious dishes. Well done to all the staff who make this an excellent hotel

The dinner here was top drawer. Lovely lamb and great starters too. Good portions and well presented. Tasted divine.Breakfast is the opposite. Poorly presented buffet. Cold items despite the burners (not sure these are being used right?) messy and dirty cutlery and plates. It would not take a lot to make this place one of the best in England. The staff are very friendly and have a great attitude. With experience and an eye for detail they could make this place truly awesome.

I stayed here for 3 nights on business, and I had the choice of a ground floor twin room or a first floor suite ( the suite won) it was quirky with the old beams and sloping floors its got real character, the staff are amazing and the food is brilliant, I highly recommend the Brome grange its friendly and welcoming.

Dinner is a choice of well cooked fresh & well presented dishes. Prices very reasonable and choice of 2 or 3 course dinner. Breakfast is OK if you are down early, late comers may find a somewhat reduced offerings of fruit, cereals and juices, but the full English is freshly well cooked to each customers order and suffice to feed the biggest appetite!

Stayed as a couple for one night. The bar was relaxed and the service good. A big post- Christmas party was being held in a separate annexe, and there was some noise outside the bedroom window from inconsiderate guests! However, the food in the restaurant was good, and we were given our dessert by the open fire, which was cosy! Lots of easy parking outside. Breakfast good.

Have been here 3 times now and varying experience. Twice it has been excellent service and food. You get a good Sunday lunch with lots of meat for a reasonable price. The restaurant is very attractive and generally the staff are good. Did have one iffy visit though where we waited 40 minutes for our meal, which we think they'd forgotten. There were different staff and they left a lot to be desired, forgetting to ask if we wanted extra veg and not coming back to take further orders in reasonable time. I would still say this is worth a try though as I think that was a one off and the other times the service has been excellent.

We ate two dinners and one lunch at the hotel as well as one sandwich bar lunch. On each occasion the menu gave us plenty of choice and the food was well prepared, beautifully presented and served in a timely manner. We had bee told that there were "specials" each evening but, only after prompting, did the "specials" menu arrive on our final evening. It was definitely worth the wait! All in all I would heartily recommend this restaurant. We did go in to eat at the start of service each time and had attentive, knowledgeable waiters and a quiet dining experience.

Unlike many business users, we like to stay for three or four days at hotels. The Courtyard Restaurant has sufficient choice on the menu to be able to do this without repeating dishes. There are specials available in the evening. Everything is well cooked and with care. Ingredients are mainly locally sourced, for instance the sausages at breakfast are good quality unlike some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. We had both dinners and lunches at the hotel and it is sad that the restaurant is so under-used because the quality is high whilst prices are very reasonable in our opinion.

Food was very nice when we visited and well priced for the quality of the food, although on a Saturday night it was pretty much empty, with no atmosphere it felt very awkward sitting in the restaurant.

The dinner was an evening meal to celebrate St Valentine's Day, so the dining room, a converted tithe barn, was full of couples and the organization and atmosphere were conducive to a very special occasion. The range of dishes for each course was pre-ordered on arrival at the hotel, enabling the staff to serve seamlessly throughout the meal with no delays for ordering at table. The bar in the room enabled all types of drinks to be available easily, in addition to the prepared wine list. My starter was a decoratively cut piece of melon, served with a scoop of sorbet and a raspberry salza. We had a tender piece of slow braised beef on a bed of red cabbage, with pont neuf potatoes, two vegetables and onion gravy. The meat melted in the mouth and the whole combination was delicious. What followed was a bread and butter pudding made of croissants with jam, soaked in dairy custard. Perfect for a cold evening and a great example of this English classic. Coffee and petit fours ended the meal. The whole ambiance was completed by the accompanying singer and the rose on the table for my wife.

The size of the hotel is deceptive. It looks as though you are driving into a motel, but behind reception is a spacious hotel. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the receptionist when we booked in. The room was clean and comfortable with a hospitality tray and complimentary toiletries. There is a small but well equipped gym with up to date machines. There is also a spa, steam room and jacuzzi. You can get a hot or continental breakfast. Lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are also available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was excellent value for money.

So we have had lunch and dinner at the Brome Grange a few times now but this time it was under the Best Western banner and the recent refit from a comfy olde worlde hotel / restaurant takes us in to a more stylish extension which is quite smart and more modern, personally I preferred the old fashion surroundings but this is nice, but how about the food? I had the soup of the day and my wife had the tempura mushrooms, I should have had that, very nice! main course I chose the liver and bacon, this was very nice indeed on a bed of mustard mash, it was simple, well prepared and cooked and full of flavour. For desert my Wife had the Chocolate fondant pudding cooked fresh at the time. For lunch this was perfectly fine and complemented by a glass of prosecco best thging was that the 2 full dinners with drinks only came to £57, bargain.

Just been here for Sunday lunch and am really sad that a hotel which could 'have it all' was so disappointing. Cannot believe the other reviews we've read as this must have been one of worst lunches we've had.Needs some attention to detail as we were greeted by the sight of a random dirty coffee cup outside reception, and on the bar was an empty plastic washing up bowl atop of what looked like table cloths or pillow cases in plastic bags, but no menus available. We had booked a table but decided to eat in the bar as the restaurant seemed devoid of any atmosphere and depressingly empty. Our sole server was pleasant and polite but very clearly lacking in training (not her fault of course - a victim of management failure) - no offer of wine list with menus, lack of knowledge of beers available, and neither she nor the (apparent) duty manager knew if prosecco was available. The whole service was disjointed with a 20 mins wait for main course - forgiveable if there had been a high level of customers. The beef seemed precooked, but was eaten due to hunger but the cod was dry and overcooked and vegetables were stale and re-heated, and was hardly touched. There was no follow up to the complaint that the fish was horrible. The apricot ginger dessert was a slice of heavy stodge. In general, the staff seemed to wander in pairs with no apparent aim, at one time at least five passing behind the bar, and there was considerably more activity around the till in the bar trying to allocate table numbers to bills than attention to clients. So surprising that Management can allow such untrained and chaotic front of house activity and at the same time performing a total disservice to young people trying to learn a business. I have been in the hotel business for many years, both front of house and management and do not say these things lightly as this is a hard business, but there are lessons to be learnt by management if this is to be a rounded and sustainable venue.

I attended a party at Brome Manor, and stayed for 2 nights. The room was large and the beds comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and spacious. All public places were kept to a very high standard. The Barn itself was a perfect venue for a special occasion. Because it has history, there is a warmth to it, which is much nicer than some other more clinical hotel events rooms. The room itself works well, with a bar across the bottom and plenty of seating at tables around the sides. I would imagine it would also be a lovely room for a wedding. The staff were willing and helpful. Well done!

Having been married here have already given great reviews as cannot fault the place. A friend of mine had Christmas dinner here and wasn't impressed saying she felt they were unable to cope with large parties.....I have just been for a Mother's Day meal, and as always the place was packed. I really must stick with my previous opinions on this place. The food was lovely and the service was as professional and efficient as always. One little niggle I will have is that when our order was taken, although we knew what we would have for dessert they said would only take order for starter and main and take dessert order later...I appreciate this is the way most places do this, but in this instance it did result in two people in our party not being able to have what they wanted due to being out of stock by the time we came to order. I know this is not the hotels fault but had we been able to have option to reserve desert we would not have been disapointed. One of the party that missed out was my daughter, who had organised and paid for everything and ended up missing out, which was disappointing. That all said will return again when my daughter also has her wedding reception there and I know we will be guaranteed a great service and great food x

I've been to Brome on a couple of occasions recently with different groups of friends and was very impressed with the quality of the friendly, helpful service and the food. Each group had a very enjoyable time and I will certainly use the hotel again. Unfortunately, I'm too local to justify a overnight stay but have been tempted by the spa as it looks very relaxing with it being evident that the hotel has clearly had a substantial amount of money invested recently.
