I ordered a takeaway curry ( you can eat in Pub). It was ready on the dot. Delicious samosa, and onion bargee starter. General portion of rice and curry. Served with Naan bread and pot of mangoe chutney. I could have ha a poppadoms but didn't want one. Food was piping hot and too much for me and I eat a lot

We gave up on the Six Bells about a year ago. Rubbish food, rubbish beer and didn't stick around for the atmosphere. Friends mentioned that they had been recently, it was under new management and now really good, we should try it. In the last few weeks we've been (for one reason or another) about five times! Wow what a difference. The new folks in charge are brilliant. Great atmosphere and the beer is very good too. As for the food, it's by far the best pub food around. Specials board, signature dishes all great variety not your average pub grub. Well priced too. We've been impressed with the curry night too on which you can choose from numerous mains. Not tried the Sunday roast but by all accounts also very good. We don't write many reviews. But this is worth shouting about. Try it, you won't regret it.

Excellent Sunday lunch at the Six Bells. We both had roast beef, served with Yorkshire pud, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, carrots, parsnip and cabbage. All beautifully cooked. The portions are generous and we didn't really have room for dessert but we managed a delicious chocolate sundae. Lovely friendly staff who made us very welcome. Looking forward to returning soon.

We visited the Six Bells for lunch after our walk where we were well received and the service was good throughout our visit. The pub itself is a charming village pub with oak beams, a choice of various types of seating and subtle piped music in the background. There was a good choice of traditional pub food on the menu although there were limited quantities of some dishes and bread options. Twelve hungry and thirsty walkers enjoyed a variety of different meals and drinks. We recommend the Six Bells and encourage you to visit. Us walkers look forward to returning in the not too distant future.

We visited the Six Bells for fathers day with another family. Really good food, hardly any wait for the starters or kids food. The food was really nice - between us we had every starter, and all was excellent. There was a good choice of ales and beers, and a selection for the younger kids (fruit shoot) and J2O for the older ones. Mains arrived in good time, again really nice hot tasty food. The kids commented on the quality of their chips, and for them to vocalise their thoughts is unheard of. We would definitely visit again. Very clean, COVID compliant restaurant, with fantastic friendly staff. This was our first post COVID meal out, and we weren't disappointed.

Not great. Waited around 30 minutes to order drinks initially and enquired about ordering food, to which we were told that our order would be taken ‘in a minute’. 45 minutes later and still no one came to take our order so we enquired again to be told that they had closed the kitchen and run out of food - early evening. Disappointing.

The ambience is pleasant. The rooms are homely but the service for our pre-ordered meal was not great. Expecting a meal at 7:30pm but not to get starters until over an hour later and the main course, 2 hours later meant a lot of hungry and annoyed people. A shame because the food was fine when it came. No apology or explanation for the obvious delay.

Used this pub in the past for food, 8 of us had a meal recently, not as good, 4 different type steaks advertised, only had 2 sirloin left out of all, 4 of us choose them, so had to reorder, 1 had sausage & mash, 2 small sausages on small amount of mash, all our chips, are not triple cooked like they used to be, think frozen, 2 of us had apple crumble, this come out, completely soggy, as been in microwave, not crumbled top! We spent a lot of money on food & drink, didn't want to complain to much, as it was a birthday celebration, but we did say abt advertising so many steaks, when not available. We won't be rushing back there

We decided to take advantage of the Steak Night deal which states on the website ‘any 2 steak meals + bottle of wine’ for £27. However, as it turned out when we arrived the deal was actually £29. When asked to order, we were told as we hadn’t booked, the only option available was a rump steak which is their cheapest cut, so I would recommend you book if you want something other than the cheapest cut. That said, the steak was well cooked and a good portion. The wine however, which was a choice of house red or white, can only be described as tasteless. Overall a little disappointing and the staff appeared not to be very keen on offering the steak deal. I think I might try the steak night in Lavenham next time I’m out on a Thursday

I had been meaning to try this place out since moving into the area not long ago. The outside is lovely, with flowers blooming and seating to accommodate those who wish to enjoy the beautiful village. The choices of beer are a good range, and I was extremely happy with the quality also. Both members of staff who were present were lovely, and were happy to engage in conversation with myself and other customers. Only intended on having 1, as a pit stop from a cycle route home. But ended up staying for a few more. The local community that use this place are also very pleasant and are also happy to engage in conversation. Will visit again!

Rooms have lots of character but can be annoying or frustrating. E.g. dimmer lights that randomly start flickering and don't stop or jacuzzi bath with no shower... but parts in the bath hurt. Or Sky TV box mounted in a difficult position to get a remote signal. Restaurant is really good but reception is only manned by breakfast staff. So forget getting items resolved on your bill as staff can't resolve until later in the day. It would also be nice if they checked if everything was okay with the room, too.
