The best restaurants serving British food in Welwyn Hatfield East of England

It is not bad as a community place to help many people in need. The food and drink was nice but ee would like our meals close to same time.

Lovely feel in conservatory. Friendly. Tasty lunch - but be prepared for a quite long wait.

Great food and service, friendly atmosphere

Can’t speak highly enough of this venue, beautiful decor, cozy log fire and perfectly prepared and presented food. It’s a bit of a hidden gem this one and surprised it’s not busier. We will definitely be going back!

This is a beautiful boutique cake shop in Old Welwyn, with the most delicious cupcakes, cakes, sandwiches and afternoon teas. It's run by an absolutely lovely local lady who makes the most amazing bakes! The shop is really pretty and quaint, with beautiful crockery and a lovely friendly vibe in the centre of Old Welwyn. The shop has a fantastic range of cakes and treats, including options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free, which is brilliant. I often admire their celebration, birthday and wedding cakes online as well - they look amazing (maybe I need to get married again ;) ) Will definitely be back!

Stopped off for a quick coffee and a snack this morning, lovely views, quick friendly service and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back for a meal soon!

What a disappointment! Having dined here before we were looking forward to celebrating my sisters birthday here with our family. Our table was booked for 7pm but we didn’t get to order food for at least an hour. When the very rude man, who I believe was the person in charge came to take our orders, he rudely pointed at each of us individually asking “what do you want?” There were no niceties, no friendly smile, nothing! After enquiring multiple time about our food we were just told “it’s coming” When our food eventually arrived it was 9.20! The only member of staff that was friendly and did apologise for the shoddy service we had received was a lovely man called Anthony. My family and I will definitely not be returning. I’d rather dine at Macdonalds! At least you get service with a smile

Cozy traditional pub with local beers and friendly people!

A very enjoyable meal in a beautiful location. Busy roads outside but you don't hear a thing. The food was superb and the wine excellently priced. Very good service and a lovely ambience. Update 2025, paid another visit and they have apparently stepped up a notch, competitively priced for the area and top notch cooking. There is a "posh" menu and a bar menu. You can take your pick from either but equally well prepared and tasty.

Went for Christmas lunch. Lovely pub, with great atmosphere, very friendly staff, very good food. totally recommended

CLOSED DOWN. I placed an online order in advance, paid online, when it didn’t arrive I rang the number which no one answered but went to a random man’s answerphone. I then had to drive down there and it’s been boarded up and closed!

I'd just like to thank the chef and all the staff for an enjoyable atmosphere great service and great food good value will definitely be eating here again.thank you five stars from me.
