Had an invitation to Judges from our friends to celebrate Brenda's 70th Birthday. Wow! what can I say, met by a member of staff who escorted us to a private room. A glass of bubbly, then met family and friends. Sat down to an excellent meal ( even an magician between courses ) excellent food & company. Would highly recommend Judges.

I had dinner last night with my wife for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The food was very well presented and very tasty. We had starters to share, she had the seafood risotto and I had the ribeye steak, and chocolate cake to share. Thank you.

The place was recommended by a friend so we decided to go. The food was very well presented and tasted amazing. 3 stars is for the service. A gentleman in a blue shirt, seemed to be the manager...was just yelling at all the staff. He came to our table and not even a smile and we felt very rushed. Not one single waiter came to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. I guess they just wanted our table back. Such a shame as the food was excellent and the service below average.

Very poor experience- our starters took an hour to come and when we asked “why?” we were told “there’s a big party ahead of you, besides which you got bread didn’t you?” The food itself was very very average- the £23 cheese burger was over cooked and had the texture of coming straight of a catering pack. One of group had chicken wings- See picture - truly awful evening for just under £100 couple with 1 drink each

Came here for post wedding meal with 11 people. Booked in advance and asked if there were lobster available and was informed yes. Unfortunately on the day there were 3 other parties who finished the lobsters. The waiter kindly offered alternative of prawn platter. The starters were delicious and the drinks went down very very well.

Carlos and team were really helpful and friendly. The garden had a lovely atmosphere with plenty in and outdoor seating. The menu was varied with a good range of vegetarian options.

Pleasant welcoming venue however the restaurant was grosely overcrowded with too many chairs at our table. A/c was ineffectual with many customers complaining about the heat, my partner became unwell due to becoming overheated, as a consequence we had to leave before our food was served.

Beautiful outdoor section and lovely ambiance inside. Good service. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Quite expensive but it’s a lovely place to visit and would definitely go again.

The food was good and the service was excellent the atmosphere was nice and warm and welcoming.

My dish of mixed fish was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Service could have been a little more attentive, as we had to ask twice for our drink and, later, coffee. But all in all a really pleasant lunch. I shall be back!

A big thank you to Carlos, and staff for hosting our Birthday lunch in the private dining room on Sunday. The room was attractively presented, staff amazing, nothing was too much trouble, great value, the food was absolutely delicious, great quality and despite there being 30 of us, it arrived not only hot but beautifully presented. It’s got to be our go to venue for all family celebrations. We will be back, Thank you.

The food is delicious, I've been here a few times for lunch and the menu has great options and the food is always hot and fresh. Great fish! Lovely staff as well. Would love to come back just for drinks as they have a great looking cocktail bar.

Had my 60th birthday there, food is superb, service is not good...took an hour from when we got there to getting our starters...it doesn't seem they can cope with a party of 16

Good value for lunch deal - starter and main. Poor selection for vegetarians at lunch - pasta or rice. Cheap food. Pasta came alone on plate. No veg. (My friend’s food was very nicely presented with vegetables). No one even offered me Parmesan. A la carte very expensive.

This place is worthy of the rave reviews. Although the whole establishment was busy , the staff were on the ball at all times and the food was amazing . I can quite see why people choose this restaurant to mark special occasions as the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable and totally professional . Had a wonderful evening at Judge’s celebrating a family birthday. The staff were very attentive and welcoming and made it a special evening. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and we even had a magician come over and entertain us (Stephen was excellent). Fabulous restaurant, great staff and brilliant atmosphere.

As a group of 40 family members we booked lunch on the day of my husband's funeral. We chose our menus in advance from the 2 courses for a fixed price menu. The food was served exactly at the time that we had booked. Everything was delicious. The portion sizes were generous. The staff were helpful. I could not fault anything.

Went for my father’s birthday with a big family group. Nice food and nice atmosphere

First vist to Judges. Greeted immediately on arrival by smartly dressed manager. Ordered and received drinks within a few minutes. Had a two course meal. Food was well presented and tasty. Service and food very good.

Had a super lunch at Judges Northaw today. Food was delicious, service and team were fabulous and they allow dogs! See you again very soon.

While the food was particularly good for buffet food the head waiter put a damper on everything by being extremely rude not only to myself but also his colleagues. He stomped around swearing under his breath and looked agitated. Other than that it was a lovely little pub, perfect for hosting functions such as baby showers, christenings etc and the other staff were really pleasant and polite.

Paid £10 for two soft drinks. Absolute rip off! For that, I'll never come back.

Absolutely amazing place the food was cooked to perfection and the ambience was great. When we got there the music was a bit loud to talk so we asked them to turn it down a little. No problem at all and was done immediately. The magician comes around the tables to do close up magic and is amazing. This is not a cheap restaurant but is also not expensive for what we got. We paid £45 a head which I classify as average and not expensive. If you think it is expensive then still worth going for a treat.

I visited yesterday with a group of 9 friends to celebrate my birthday. We had a fantastic experience. The service provided from the time we arrived (with bar drinks perfectly organised before the meal), the speed of service for both food and drinks, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff was second to none. Every part of our visit was superb and a massive thank you to all of the staff who made my birthday celebration very special. We will definitely be returning.

Incredibly extensive and wonderful menu. Crab starter was delightful and my piece of skate wing was cooked perfectly and was delicious. How lovely to see some different items on the menu. I really enjoyed lunch here. This is more than just a 'gastropub'. Much more.

There was 20 of us. My daughter thought she was booking a private room but when we got there we we cramped in with another party. Not a lot of room getting in our seats and when sat down you could t get up again. There was also a wedding taking place in there which was packed. Food was over priced. The waiter could t care less and was really rude. When a couple complained about the starter he just shrugged his shoulders and said it is what it is. We booked two children’s meals with dessert and they never got the dessert even when we asked we were ignored. Everyone agreed they would never go there again. Overpriced poor service and seems they are just greedy and want to squeeze as many people as possible in. Never again 😡

Lovely Venue and food,but service was a let,shame.They had a very good DJ in the bar as you entered,but pointless unless you sat in bar area which was pretty empty,only got the benefit when you want to and from the toilet.

As the tip is automatically added to the bill, I do think that Judges is overpriced. That said, we will still go again, just on special occasions maybe.

If you like many different menus then Judges is for you. There is an a la carte menu, specials menu, vegetarian menu, vegan menu, pasta menu and platters menu plus a few more to boot. All would be worthwhile if the cooking was good but my meal was disappointing; the BBQ ribs had seen no BBQ and were covered in a rather unpleasant sauce plus the dish was lukewarm. This continued with my calves’ liver where the liver was ok, the bacon flaccid and probably precooked and the mash stone cold. I didn’t send it back as the venue choice was made by our friends and I didn’t want to cause a fuss. The location is a number of interconnected rooms with what looks like a large marquee at the back, it’s quite flashy and rather ostentatious. There were a number of large parties and I imagine it can become quite loud but fortunately we were seated in a small anteroom. Service was attentive by waiters dressing in black suits with white shirts and ties - all rather retro.

The food here cannot be beaten You will have a delicious meal and a wide and varied choice from a la carte or fixed price menu , vegan or gluten free . Very good value for money, attentive staff and pleasant surroundings. It’s rare to find a restaurant offering such good fare.

I recently ate for the first time at Judges with the family, including my 4 year old grandson and we had a wonderful time. The food was terrific, service friendly and helpful and I'd certainly recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be going back. And, as a bonus, they are a sponsor of Enfield Town FC!

Overall a fantastic evening had at Judges. Lovely space, very attentive staff and the food was wonderful. Starters were nice but nothing to write home about, but our mains were so delicious they made up for it. My mushroom tortellini was probably one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever eaten. Truly Devine. Nice selection of non alcoholic cocktails too as well as a beautiful looking alcoholic menu. Will definitely be back.

I was recommended to restaurant had but had no real expectations. I went with my wife and another couple one Saturday evening. The entrance opened out into a glorified marquee which was tastefully decorated and created a lovely atmosphere. There was a good selection of food to choose from, - all the usual suspects. I started with the King Prawns which were well seasoned and tasty followed by Steak for my main, which was cooked to perfection. The only criticism I can give is that the bill was a bit excessive - £150 a couple. For that reason, while I would go back there, I would reserve a visit for 'more special' occasions.

Judges do the best cocktails in Hertfordshire and reasonably priced. Friendly staff too.

Private party private room own bar would of preferred restaurant atmosphere tho but 2 many people in party should have been in garden but English weather thought different Service charge charged on every drink you bought Making it more expensive than it needed to be

We visited Judges Restaurant with my husband and family to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. We arrived at the restaurant and were greeted by the manager with a very warm welcome. We were shown to our table in the garden area. The staff were very efficient and attentive and looked after us very well. The food was delicious. We will definitely be going back.

Owner doesn’t know how to speak to customers when stressed. Unprepared and unable to keep up with bookings. Other staff are great.

First time here and what a find. Fabulous meal with very pleasant ambience, warm and friendly staff. We were celebrating a special anniversary. Great choice of menu.

Went for a work event, so there were quite a few of us to serve, The food was well presented and tasted lovely, and we were all served in a timely manner, The only criticism is the food could have been a bit hotter .

We arrived for an early dinner with family and friends, firstly I was put off by the door man stood at the door in a small village! We sat at the table in a nice location, they have refurbished the property well and I like the new glass screen to stop the draft from the opening door The service is slow and unfortunately they have lots of very young staff who clearly haven’t got any experience and this really shows in the way the approach the table etc, almost makes you stop talking to friends as u think someone will drop or spill something. Best liver I've had for months!

I came here for two baby showers two weeks in a row. We were treated rudely both times. The owner even shouted at us telling us to leave at 6.05 because the booking ended at 6pm - on both occasions. He is aggressive and rude. The food was terrible, £700 and we got a tray of chips, shrimp tempura, mozzarella balls and greasy chorizo. The decor is naff. They are unwelcoming to children and kept telling us to keep them in one section. They atmosphere is dire. Terrible experience. Overpriced tat with staff who make up drink prices, and seem like they don’t want you there. Do not waste your money and come here.

Quirky place. Food was good and service was good. Place was busy and lively. Massive shout out to the magician Julian James who was pretty spectacular and made a good night out into a great fun night out.

On the way home from a w/e away been driving for two hrs so we’re starving,Stumbled across judges because the two brewers down the same road was full,(lucky for us)walked in and straight away greeted with full on appreciation Italian style,dressed like proper waiters as...

Waited 45 mins to order starters. Called 3 separate waiters over to order but each one of them told us that they'll let the other waiter know we're ready. I wanted to substitute carrots that come with the steak with mixed salad but was rudely told I can't. £4.50 for a bowl of leafy salad on top of a £30 steak... After that, the starters arrived fairly quickly but missing one item from the order. The whole party said the food was alright. Things started going downhill fast as the mains arrived. I ordered my steak rare and I could already feel how tough it was by cutting through the middle of it. It was medium rare, verging on medium. Everyone at the table agreed. We called someone over and advised that there might have been a mix up with some of our steaks (a few people from our party ordered steaks too) as I've been given medium rare. The waiter took the steak away but promptly turned around and came back to the table telling me 'this is rare, I've been a chef for 25 years and I'm telling you this is rare'. To which I responded that it definitely isn't and there's no need to be so rude. After a further minute of him getting more triggered, trying to tell me that a steak that's completely cooked through is rare I gave up and said I don't want to pay for it or get another steak at all. To which he responded 'then don't pay', and walked away. We didn't see him again for the rest of our meal. I've NEVER been treated this way in any restaurant. You get better service at McDonalds. My new steak arrived even though I didn't want it at that point and it was only lightly seared on the outside and cold in the middle. I really wanted to give 1 star but the rest of the staff were fine, the rest of the party didn't have major issues with food, restaurant took off my steak from the bill and also took off service charge. Then they treated us to some free shots afterwards. But all in all, for this price...please go somewhere else.

Have been a few times and have enjoyed so much I have booked to re-attend next week. Each time has been a wonderful experience. Restaurant is spotless, staff accommodating, vast food and wine menu to choose from and no time limit on the table. Great for business meetings, family groups and catch ups. Food is acception and VALUE FOR MONEY

Very very nice Sunday Roast no complaints at all

Took my mum here for Mother’s Day. Table at 3.30pm, arrived at 3.24 and was told to wait as was not 3.30 yet! Very rude! Service was mediocre. Starter and main course nice. Dessert not great. Crème brûlée was obviously made In advance. When complained was pretty much ignored. They need to re address their customer service.

Absolutely loved this place. We went as a couple and had a 3 course lunch. From entry to leaving we were welcomed and looked after to a thank you at the door when leaving. Can’t recommend the food highly enough. Cocktails were lovely too. Lovely place inside with a very comfortable atmosphere and lovely staff.

Heard some good things about Judges! My experience was far from it, lamb shank was small with hardly no meat and quite fatty and what I can only explain as half a roast dinner for a very hefty price. Very disappointed like the other 6 guess and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone IMO

My husband and I dine here often. It’s our favourite place to go and we have been to many establishments in our time. The food is outstanding. Nothing beats it. Not even my mother’s cooking (sorry mum)!! Truly delicious and the menu has been upgraded...

Our first visit following recommendation from a friend, but certainly will not be our last visit! All our food was excellent and well presented and came quickly, but we were never rushed. Winelist very good and reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and efficient. Very relaxed atmosphere. We will return!
