The battered sausage was really greasy and the saveloy did not taste very nice like they have been cooked in the microwave.

My son was having a swim party at Hatfield Swim Centre, so I ordered 23 children's meals to be ready for collection on the day. The food was ready at the agreed time and still hot when they ate them. Great size portions. Kids loved it!

Excellent food, always hot, good portions, great delivery and thank you for your generosity when there was no spring rolls, so added extra portions to compensate and a phone call to tell us. Fantastic service

First they forgot about my mayonnaise and I paid for it, no tissues, undercooked and very soft chips and the fish tasteless? I I dont live in Hatfield to go back and return it. I order based on the reviews......won't recommend it...I did pay for my mayonnaise? And no tissues or plastic fork?.....l did wanted to order again today.....a bottle of 1.5L of coca cola 4.30£ and 5 pounds delivery?? WOW WOW WOW.....I will deffff correct my review based on my order today! Everything was nice and tasty! I will like to say that I order directly with them? .. and they really delivered! Uber is not replying to my complaint so I have to go to the source.I’ve never had a problem with the quality of your food but tonight… it was very unpleasant. I ordered Haddock and the batter was a sloppy mess and tasted sickly. £10.50 for medium Haddock ? I expect it to be exceptional! Very, very disappointed with Skipper’s and Uber eats.

Ordered from just eat and whilst the food is good, there was hardly any cheese on the cheesy chips and they messed my burger up. Wanted no cheese, lettuce, cucumber, onion and mayo. Got cheese, mayo and onion but no lettuce or cucumber. Not hard to get right

The app said they'd deliver and when order was read I was told to collect. Now 20 quid out of pocket, never again!!!

Honestly skippers never misses. Even with delivery food is hot and tasty, they always follow instructions, never miss out items, consistently good. Keep it up guys

I can't say much other than how I've rated the place, the food is always fresh cooked and tastes amazing. The shop itself is absolutely spotless and the service is some of the best I've ever had, truly a contender for my home town chippy (Neptune's palace) and that's pretty damn hard to beat. One small problem, the sausages they buy in aren't my favourite I must say. It's not the way they cook them just the product itself. Not gonna ask them to change their buyer for one customers preference though. Cheers for the grub guys 🖤

Great fish and chips. Not too greasy and very tasty. Would recommend. Only down side is we couldn't put our own vinegar on the chips (which is fine if you like a normal amount- but I love to drench my chips in vinegar!)

Pleasantly surprised, the overall food delivery was very good. Good quality food, a good price and the right temperature too. Unfortunately i have found a lot of local deliveries where the food is cold on arrival, but this was very good.

Dry fish, terrible chips and I actually got food poisoning from the Chicken that wasn't cooked. The worst place to eat in Hatfield... Which is saying a lot really because there is nowhere good to eat in Hatfield either.

The fish and chips are super good, a medium is more than enough in my opinion but the only downside is that the chips are greasy which doesn’t bother me that much since it is fresh. The workers were lovely too!

We have been gettong fish 'n' chips from.here for years, never had a bad meal yet.

Good service but I wish the chips were put in a drainer after frying as they are always dripping with dark oil ? I miss the good old paper wrap, card board boxes just make it all sweaty.

Great service from brilliant staff. Using their app is so simple and means you don't have order and then hang about. The cod and plaice are always beautifully cooked and my children go mad for the saveloys!! You also earn loyalty points through the app, which gives you money off vouchers.

Great local Fish N Chippy in Hatfield. Gets very busy and also has an app to make orders ahead. We ordered on App great process quick..the only very small problem was the fact the order was not ready at time specified. I can understand why as some people can be late or the shop is busy as it was when we went to collect. Food was Hot and fresh and tasted great. All in all great x

Everyone in Hatfield loves it. They even get orders from St. Albans and Welwyn garden city. Basically fish and chips. They also do beef and pork.

Me and a friend came here from London and the food was delicious. The service is exceptional and inviting, you should be proud of what you're doing.

Chips came in a box that was soaked in grease and the battered sausage and haddock was sub standard.

The food was late, I gave them the postcode and address yet they got it wrong even though I repeated myself 3 times, the food is cold, never had any problems before but today it's not been good. The deliver driver struggled to find my address due to the wrong postcode.

Best chips around by far. Chicken great too. Service spot on, even the shop is clean and welcoming.

We always order Fish and Chips on a Monday, its the new norm for us :D my son actually looks forward to this take away each week, some would say its the highlight of his week, with being in lockdown and no school.The meal always turns up hot and on time

Standing outside skippers.good thing they got bleepers. But just had a guy walk in no mask.and No questions asked. Terrible .so who is following the rules. Not the first time either. Management need to sort their act out. Wish the cops were around. Take care all

Top quality all round. My son and I both had haddock chips and peas, and agreed they were delicious. Best (and biggest!) COOKED piece of haddock I've enjoyed in many years. Delivered by Skippers, the deliverer was very cheerful and friendly.

First time ordering from here. Had a large cod and chips, had to wait 10 mins to order them another 10 mins for food. The cod was flat as a pancake would have expected a chunky cod when ordering a large so was disappointing really. Half of chips were nice, half were dry and over cooked. Not sure if I'll be back

My boyfriend ordered a takeaway for us to be delivered to welwyn garden city (1 town over) and accidentally put the postcode in wrong. We waited for the order and it didn't show so we rang up because the driver didn't ring us to say the postcode was wrong. After getting shirty with us he refused to drive to our flat and my boyfriend then rang up skippers to ask about the order. He was then told that due to this being "his error" and that he put the address in wrong (NOTE: only the postcode was wrong so the woman on the line was lying) he would be charged for the order but wouldn't receive it as the driver didn't want to drive to our flat. Long story short: my bf is driving over to meet the driver in hatfield to save the driver a 10 min journey! Hope the chips arent cold

Used to be brilliant all-around, whether we popped in to collect or delivery. Now, delivery is well over the quoted hour, which is incredible given we used to receive our orders within 25-35 mins regularly. Quality of the food has definitely suffered too - the chips are either undercooked and anaemic looking (god knows how anyone working in a kitchen misses that!), or they're overcooked, or they taste like they've been cooked in burnt oil. Fish is normally pretty good. Most frustrating thing - not being able to get any kind of customer service. My orders running 30mins late without any contact, nor can I contact Skippers via phone. Ridiculous.

Great food but poor quality of service. Ordered my food at 6.30pm, it was meant to arrive at 7.40pm. The order arrived at 8.30pm there was no call to say that it was delayed. This is not the first time this has happened, we had to collect it after paying for delivery the last time. We will not be ordering again!

I bought two large portions of chips this evening for my wife and myself. They tasted bad and were really awful. It was so bad I threw them in the bin. They were definitely not fresh. They tasted vile. I was so disappointed with the quality of the chips that I threw them in the bin. I will stick to my home made chips in the future which are freshly cooked with real potatoes.

I ordered from deliveroo a meal for three. The cod is advertised with an image of both cod and chips. The chips didn’t arrive. Nor did half of my burger. We paid a lot of a money for a meal, half of which was not delivered. Incredibly disappointed, not only for the false advertisement but also the amount of money spent.

Not very good at all.. Chips are the worst I've had.. The service no better.. A language barrier = wrong order. Will not return

After spending just over £30 really not happy got our order wrong even tho my daughter went into the shop !!! Cod was big but soggy and the chips you could use as a rubber ball they was disgusting and kids meal was horrible too no drink and no toy which it states you get with a kids meal!!!!! We wont be back

Ordered a delivery from here, was slightly late when it arrived but the food was delicious, chips were lukewarm but the fish was superb. Really tasty meal and very large portions all stored in neat boxes. Perfect.

Easy to order online and collect. Staff were friendly and efficient - got my order exactly on time as per the ETA online. Store was clean and well organised. Generous portion sizes, haddock was really fresh, crisp, golden and not drenched in oil which meant it kept its crisp through the journey home.

Shocked, tasteless cold chips and rubbery cod. and at £35 for 3 cod and chips thats the most expensive fish and chips i ever had

Attened twice and both orders incorrect, had a list and still incorrect order when we opened the items at home. not happy at all and wont return three kids meals- no drinks provided and given a large sausage and two burgers and a medium chips when the list said 2x cheese burger kids meal 1 x battered kids meal. also requested one medium chips and a half pounder burger, one battered sausage and ended with two packs of chips and the burger and battered sausage. what is the staff doing here. i thought writing it down would be easyier. clearly not.

Went to skippers fish and chip shop today and ordered fish cake and chips , fish cake and chips was called out for me to collect once ready , so imagine my surprise when I got home and opened the box and it was saveloy and chips !!! Really upset and angry as I don’t eat meat !!!! Just chucked the meal in the bin as I didn’t want my husband to go back as their dinners would have got cold.

Hi i ordered through gogetters for delivery to welwyn garden city today and the Cod and chips was so fresh and the gogetters driver was a credit to skippers and gogetters and also got 20% weds discount.

Unfriendly staff, no smile or friendly attitude and small portion. They all stand around staring at you which makes you feel uncomfortable and quite frankly puts you off the food. I’m in my early 20’s so similar age to Some of the staff and it’s literally like being at school again. The floor had litter and they don’t care because they gossip and laugh. I won’t be returning to this judgemental place. Would give 0 out of 5 but the food is decent and fresh.

I have used skippers my whole life. Walked in after the refurbishment and was confronted by very rude staff. I walked out never to return and have been told by lots of people about how rude the staff are. Avoid this shop.!!

I used GoGetters to order as they delivered to the Brookmans Park area. The food was really good! Decent portion sizes too.

Nicely refurbished, I will be so glad to visit here in the winter without that crazy door which used to blow open all the time, great job. I was a little bit disappointed to have my chops packaged in a box now meaning there are less, maybe you could revert back to just using paper like before and I might rate you back to 5 stars ;) as always nice food

Since it's refurbishment, the quality of the food at Skippers has declined significantly, yet the prices have only increased. The chips, once delicious, now taste like they are pre-cooked, frozen, and cooked again in the shop. If they can't get chips right then what is the point of opening?
