This is a great place for a large, well cooked breakfast, By 9.30am most of the tables were full and I can see why. Friendly staff, good tea, excellent food and a lovely local relaxed atmosphere. I had the Bubble and Squeak with extra mushrooms and bacon, and it was lovely; good portion, well cooked.

Lovely friendly environment. Just a brilliant place and very relaxing.

Best sticky toffee pudding ever!! Also some of the best baked goods on offer — baked cheesecake, lemon meringue pie, donuts. The triple chocolate brownie is life changing. We lowkey moved to St Albans because of this place

My go to for a bit of grub 2-3 times a week. Never had a bad experience here. Food is top notch and staff lovely.

I went there and I didn’t like it I was scared don’t like fish. Saw some scary man he was very hairy and made me eat fish. My mum took me out for a special occasion

Rude staff and slow service. Proprietor became threatening, when I dared to complain. Codess on Victoria Street is a good alternative. Avoid!

The food is absolutely delicious. And the staff are very friendly and helpful. Our server was Jackie and she was wonderful. We had the roasts. I had pork belly and my wife had chicken. Both of which were so tasty and came with loads of trimmings. We couldn't believe that we got a table so easily. This place should be packed out all the time..the food is that good. And great value too.

Trenna runs a fantastc classic style pub. The locals are very lucky to have The Boot in their village.

Went to miller and carter for Christmas Day lunch. The restaurant was busy but not fully booked as there were plenty of empty tables with guest trickling in through out the afternoon. The staff were all welcoming and polite. They were very accommodating when we had to change our table to downstairs as a family member couldn’t manage stairs. However the food was disappointing for the money charged, the bread served was dried out, the starter (king prawns) were burnt from the charcoal grill. The turkey was moist and tasty but the broccoli was burnt (not sure how it was cooked) and the cauliflower cheese was stone cold. Finally the cheese cake topped with profiteroles dessert was stodgy and all 5 desserts were pretty much untouched. They looked like they were frozen desserts that had been thawed out. The waitress didn’t even say anything when she cleared our plates. The overall experience left us disappointed and would not recommend M&C for Christmas Day lunch at all.

Love that they have a separate vegan menu. Pizzas are massive and the vibes are good

We were visiting St. Albans, and It's not very often you come across an old style back street pub, but we were delighted to stumble across The Garibaldi. A wide selection of beers, we settled for a pint of London Pride. A wonderful atmosphere with the locals, we will definitely come back.

I booked an igloo for a surprise bday about 6 weeks ago… only to be cancelled by voicemail at 1.56pm on the day… 5.5 hours before the booking! To say we were fuming is an understatement.
