Toast in St Albans

This is a great place for a large, well cooked breakfast, By 9.30am most of the tables were full and I can see why. Friendly staff, good tea, excellent food and a lovely local relaxed atmosphere. I had the Bubble and Squeak with extra mushrooms and bacon, and it was lovely; good portion, well cooked.

Best spot in St Albans by a mile and at Albans is great. I am not one for writing restaurant reviews, but honestly anyone I meet in Hertfordshire I tell them to go to toast. Love it! Lovely breakfast but rather pricey . The chap serving us did seem to rather obviously try to up sale us, hubby says black pudding should already be in a breakfast not £1.50 extra. The very loud music would put us off going again, seemed odd at that time in the morning.

Recently visited for an early lunch with my wife and our one year old and was seriously impressed. Friendly staff, excellent portion sizes, great food and a Bloody Mary to top it off! Definitely returning and have already chosen what I'm going to have!

Have seen this place for ages but never been as they don’t take bookings. When I saw they were taking bookings for Mother’s Day I jumped at the chance to go! All the staff were super friendly & all the food was yummy - particular highlight was the apple crumble french toast!

This is by far the best place for breakfast/brunch in St Albans. As well as the traditional full English, there are many other offerings, with good coffee, and cocktails available.

Went for our first visit here today. Got here around 11am on a Sunday and it was packed, always a good sign! Waited around 10 mins to be seated but all worth the wait as the food was exceptional and the quality of the ingredients used was obvious. Don’t miss the chorizo eggs or the bubble & squeak! Great service and attention throughout.

My family and I always get a great experience when we visit Toast. Liam and the team are warm, welcoming and attentive. It's great to visit a place where the staff acknowledge that you are giving them repeat business. The service is great and the food is lovely. A very good menu. The environment is cosy but this place is understandably very popular that selfishly, I wish they could expand. Many thanks to Liam and team! Well done! I definitely recommend Toast!

What a great concept! We went for my mum’s birthday as when fancied something a bit different. The food & service by Liam was amazing, he made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. I’m not a huge egg fan, but omg the eggs were so good!! I had the full English, it was so filling. Already planning another visit but this time to try a sweet dish. This place so worth a visit. Loved this restaurant. The food is exceptionally good ,well priced and the staff couldn't be more helpful. I loved that you can see the whole kitchen which is spotless ! A huge plus in my book. Toast is so much more than your average brunch spot, the food is off the scale in taste and presentation… Liam the owner has consistently won awards in every venue he has managed and do now he can bring all that experience and success to his own business .. the energy he and his team deliver is a genuine joy to experience 🤩

I would definitely recommend Toast! I thought the food might be style over substance but I was proven wrong! Amazing quality food, utterly delicious and very filling! The service was so friendly and there is such an inviting, warm atmosphere. I will certainly be back again soon!

The food here is amazing. There’s never anything that I’ve had on menu that I wouldn’t have again. It’s always busy at weekends, but I’ve never seen anyone wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming.
