This is a great place for a large, well cooked breakfast, By 9.30am most of the tables were full and I can see why. Friendly staff, good tea, excellent food and a lovely local relaxed atmosphere. I had the Bubble and Squeak with extra mushrooms and bacon, and it was lovely; good portion, well cooked.

Booked Christmas lunch based on a recommendation and it was a good recommendation. Nick the manager is very accommodating and the food was excellent. The tasting menu had if anything too much food, so no complaints. We eat in central London a lot and some restaurants there could learn from Thompson. The staff were probably all students however they were focused on making sure we had a good time and providing a good level of service. Not the least bit pretentious as some London restaurants can be. We all had the wine pairing which was generous. The prices are not cheap but when we consider the whole experience we thought it was well worth it. Value for money. We were delighted we picked Thompson for Christmas Day.

Rude staff and slow service. Proprietor became threatening, when I dared to complain. Codess on Victoria Street is a good alternative. Avoid!

Went to miller and carter for Christmas Day lunch. The restaurant was busy but not fully booked as there were plenty of empty tables with guest trickling in through out the afternoon. The staff were all welcoming and polite. They were very accommodating when we had to change our table to downstairs as a family member couldn’t manage stairs. However the food was disappointing for the money charged, the bread served was dried out, the starter (king prawns) were burnt from the charcoal grill. The turkey was moist and tasty but the broccoli was burnt (not sure how it was cooked) and the cauliflower cheese was stone cold. Finally the cheese cake topped with profiteroles dessert was stodgy and all 5 desserts were pretty much untouched. They looked like they were frozen desserts that had been thawed out. The waitress didn’t even say anything when she cleared our plates. The overall experience left us disappointed and would not recommend M&C for Christmas Day lunch at all.

Only place that seemed to be open in the city centre (7am) for a fried breakfast . Food came very quickly . 2 quid for a can of coke is expensive.Breakfast £7 Drink £2

The food is amazing with a great selection of drinks. Everything is really reasonably priced and the staff are very welcoming. The resteraunt itself if beautifully decorated. We had a lovely time

Pleasant visit, I visit the restaurant on Christmas eve and no doubt the spirit was there. The team was really engaging and nothing was to much to ask. Even my boyfriend was slightly annoying and sorry for that... He things he is hilarious. I would like to mention actually the manager Carl, polite, friendly and helpful in ever aspect of my boyfriend requests. Thank you for such a pleasant visit.
