The best restaurants serving British food in Milton Southend-on-Sea East of England

We popped into Milton Cafe for lunch - never been there before and so it was a random choice on our way to the theatre. Wow! The pasta dishes were lovely and the service was fantastic. Also got to try their homemade garlic bread and hot sauce. I couldn't stop eating! Really friendly, lovely atmosphere and next time we're in Southend I'd definitely go again. And prices all good too. Thanks for a great experience!

Visited Sunday and had a delicious Sunday Roast. I had Beef and my husband had lamb. Served with fresh vegetables and traditional Yorkshire pudding. The Chocolate cake that was served as dessert was also delicious, according to my husband! Great value and highly recommend.

Tasty, good priced dining experience. Many options for both food and drink. FYI we found best value parking at Victoria Avenue, SS2 6AL!

Me & my sister in law came down to Genting to try The Waterfront Restaurant new menu. Firstfull we have been greeted by the lovely receptionist who was really polite. Walking through casino felt like a mini journey to Vegas. We have then made our way to the bar. Within minutes we have been served by a really polite gentlemen, who had really good knowledge of the drinks menu. We have than entered the restaurant and had been greeted and sitted by the professional waiting staff . We had a table by the window which had an amazing Themes view. Our appetisers has arrived within couple of minutes, followed by the starters. The chorizzo bites and calamari was really tasty. My sister in law had ask for her Seabass to be not to spicy which came out perfectly cooked. I had a fillet steak with surf & turf which was done exactly to my liking. They also had a dj after 10 o'clock which created a very good atmosphere after few drinks. It was a lovely experience and I would definately recommend to anyone to come and try out this lovely place. I cannot thank enough all of your lovely staff who created such an amazing atmosphere and made our experience so enjoyable.

Just had team lunch here with fabulous service and food in a beautiful setting. First time visit to these tea rooms - excellent.

Wow!!! The fish & chips was amazing, full of flavour & freshly cooked. Ricky offered a great service with kindness & a smile. The girls said “Thank you for the green lollipops”. Highly recommend, if you are ever in Southend try Lena’s . Alley and family will be back when we have another day in Southend. P.S I even got a chocolate treat 😊

We went for breakfast here today. The food was fresh, tasty and hot. The staff were friendly too. It is also very clean. It is our second visit here but will definitely visit again.

This restaurant was over priced the food was so bland nothing about it was portuguese, the way they add vat and service charge is very misleading the vat should be included in the price of the food. When you look at a menu it should have the total price of the meal as you think the meal is a price then when you get the bill they have added on another £20 for vat and service charge. I will never recommend this restaurant the staff were miserable

An excellent lunch in this most welcoming cafe. Such pleasant and delightful staff who pour their hearts into cooking for you. We were so delighted on our day visit to Southend to have found this charming gem of a place. Thank you to the staff member and proprietor. Good clean venue with tasty, fresh food specially cooked to order.

Went for breakfast with a friend, we had no8 on the menu, everything came out of a tin, the sausage is processed rubbish, tomatoes out of a tin , little mushrooms out of a big tin , the whole breakfast is cheap rubbish

A lovely cosy restaurant on the sea front, amazing service and food. The owner Dino is extremely helpful and gave our two dogs sausages. We cannot wait to return in the summer. Highly recommend.

This is the best cafe in Town...food is 'clean' and delicious.. bread pudding is banging! Staff are top notch, always so attentive...

Visiting today we loved seeing all the cats, its a nice little trip out & a happy bright place for the cats to be kept. I think they get overstimulated having people in there all day maybe a break between visitors would be nice for them instead of a constant flow. Food & drink a little over priced on top of the £6 entrance fee & maybe for teenage visitors(would like to see under 16s half price) Worth a visit, would recommend 7/10
