Cafe Dino's in Southend-on-Sea

A lovely cosy restaurant on the sea front, amazing service and food. The owner Dino is extremely helpful and gave our two dogs sausages. We cannot wait to return in the summer. Highly recommend.

Morning 2nd flat viewing with my daughter meant fried breakfast so chose Dinos. Great breakfast anf traditional and egg and bacon sandwich went down well. Our daughter had smoked salmon. Good service as well . Worth a visit

I often eat here and the food is always great and you get proper portions. Steve is alway welcoming and caters for everyone.

Dino’s is a small café on the seafront at Westcliff. The staff are very friendly and made us feel like we’ve known them for years (although this was our first visit) The café is kept spotlessly clean & has a 5* hygiene rating and seats look out directly onto the Thames, though you are sheltered from the elements. Although all day breakfasts and tasty looking lunches were on the menu along with a variety of alcoholic &non- alcoholic drinks - we settled for a delicious “posh fish finger sandwich” with a side salad and a few tasty chips plus a toasted teacake with jam both washed down with a refreshing pot of tea. Prices are very reasonable & I’d certainly recommend visiting here for a snack or full meal if you’re walking between Southend & Leigh-on- Sea.

9 of us went to Dino's for a family birthday celebration. Even though we all ordered different dishes, all of our meals arrived together - all piping hot - and all really tasty. For pudding, the apple pie and custard was epic - I would heartily recommend it! The service was really friendly and very attentive - honestly, we couldn't fault it - so many thanks to all of the team for making it such an enjoyable birthday treat.

Just mum and I parked up and decided to walk along and stop for light lunch. So glad we chose Dino’s as friendly welcome and very accommodating. I didn’t want too many chips so had a small plate of scampi chips and salad very tasty. Mum had ham egg and chips, plentiful. A lovely way to spend a couple of hours with warm sea breeze wafting in! Will return

My wife and I spontaneously decided to go for Valentine's Day brunch. A delicious Full English and an American pancake stack arrived promptly. The sea view seats were excellent. The owner, Dino was a genial host. Would definitely visit again. Strongly recommended.

Very friendly staff. Their Bacon sandwiches are to die for. Thick cut bread, thick bacon. ❤️ I love their chicken salads, they come beautifully presented on an oval plate. The coleslaw is so yummy! The steak pie is crammed full of tender steak, with roast potatoes and vegetables. The views are stunning while you wait for your food to be cooked fresh. Coming back again soon. Thanks guys, keep up the great work. 😍

Used this restaurant Friday night and was totally unexceptable .. we waited an hour for food and when it finally arrived it was disgusting.. the chips were frozen and were under cooked .. the burger and chips was served in a sloppy buns and the cheapest frozen burgers they could find!!! The fish was greasy and inedible.. even we tried to speak to the man who worked there he was extremely rude and very unacomodating .. it wasn’t cheap and to use frozen crinkle cut chips is not acceptable and were expecting fresh fish and chips for £12 ahead .. totally awful should not be open

Friendly welcome from the owner, had mint tea and the alternatuve breakfast(mushrooms,2 hash browns, beans, 2 vegetarian sausages and 3 tomatoes) plenty of food with an extra fried slice for just 90p! And still 3 quid cheaper than estuary. Good menu selection for lunch and dinner and the puddings looked delicious. Service was quick and efficient, would definitely come again.

Called here Sunday morning after a football beer session the day before and this sorted us out. Nice big cups of tea with a breakfast , bacon on toast and bacon egg toast. Great bread so nice toast and proper bacon so all in all a great breakfast

Popped in here for a cheeky lunch whilst walking along the sea front. Owner was fabulous as we had our dogs with us and he was fine having them inside the canopy area. He ever brought them a bowl and jug of water! So thoughtful. We had lovely generous meals looking out over a high tide with the sun in our faces. It couldn't get any better! Great staff. Yummy food and dog friendly well deserves a visit if you are passing.

I come here regularly and I am never disappointed in Dino’s! Service is excellent every time, food is delicious and hot. Can’t fault this place, 10/10!

Popped in for a light lunch. Very friendly service, quick and efficient. I had the posh Fish Finger Sandwich which came with chips and a little pot of coleslaw, and my wife hade a Egg, Bacon and Sausage Sandwich. All very nice, washed down with Tea and decent strong coffee. Prices on par with other establishments in the Arches, will come back for something more substantiale, very nice and relaxing visit, well done.

What a great little spot this is. Well worth a stroll along to Westcliff. Service was quick and friendly, and the food was spot on. Went for the Mussels and fries from the specials board - delicious. We are regular visitors to Southend so I’m sure we will be stopping by Dino’s again sometime soon.

Popped in for a quick lunch for 9 plus large dog - no problem in the outer area but still inside. Asked how big midweek cod and chips special was and told small which was fair enough as it's just lunch anyway BUT when it arrived it was much larger than expected and we only just finished. Bowl provided for dog without asking - very friendly aff and place! We will be back . . . .

Been going to Dino's for more than 12 years now. Always excellent food and service. Richie, Jake, Steve and the team make this an enjoyable venue for singles, couples or families. Nothing's too much trouble. They'll happily rearrange tables at a moment's notice to accommodate larger groups, Mums with baby carriages, etc.. Food is excellent. Fresh fish in particular. Richie and colleagues go out into the Estuary and beyond and catch a lot of the fish themselves. Totally sustainable, rod and line. Sea bass is one of my favourites, along with cod and skate. On a sunny, warm day, take one of the outside tables, people watch and relax.

Visited on a very Sunny Saturday afternoon and the Cafe was excellent.We were served by Steve who was so friendly and engaging.All three of us had Fish and Chips which were excellent.We had White Wine and a beer to accompany our lunch.The Cafe is bright and Welcoming and has a great view opposite the Sea.Will definitely return.

Clean, friendly and prompt service. I had brunch there , sat in the sun and had a very enjoyable snack. Sitting out side -perfect vew of the sea and people watching. Menu has a reasonable variety of food options to suit most tastes.

Me and my family were having a lovely day at the beach and decided to go to dino’s cafe for lunch. I ordered a bacon sandwich, and the rest of my family ordered the cod and chips. It’s safe to say that everyone enjoyed their meals, service was outstanding and food was perfectly cooked, everyone was pleased.would highly recommend, will be returning soon :)

I was met with friendly staff, who greeted regulars as though they were best friends. Our drinks orders were taken and brought to our table quickly, and was left alone until we had chosen our meals. I ordered the chicken and bacon salad. I was able to omit cress etc from my salad which I don’t like. My little boy had a childrens fish fingers meal. It was brought to our table in good time and it was absolutely a scrumptious. I loved the home made coleslaw that came with my meal. (Tried to pinch the recipe!) The kids meal was wolfed down in record time! The cafe was comfortable, with a lovely cooling breeze for the lovely warm day. And beautiful views. If you’re down that way, please give this little gem of a cafe a look in.

I went to Southend on a rare sunny day with my 12 week old son, friend with her 4year old and 11 month old and my parents. When we walked into Dino's the waiter was fantastic and went out of his way to accommodate us and make sure we were comfortable. It was so family friendly unlike some of the nearby competition.

Had a really delicious cod and chips here, which tasted freshly cooked. The service was really friendly and efficient too. Also you have a nice view of the sea to complement your dining. We would definitely eat there again.

Another visit to Dinos. This cafe is what i see as the best of the arches cafes along southend sea front. Never been disappointed on food and the polite attention we receive. Food excellently cooked to perfection. Great fry ups to roast dinners.

This place is a real find - our first visit to this small café facing the sea. All we wanted was traditional cod and chips with a cup of tea and Café Dinos certainly delivered with piping hot white fish in a crispy batter with lashings of perfectly fried chips plus good friendly service as well. We will be back for more in the future.

Truly wonderful cafe. In a lovely sea front position. Excellent, friendly service. Fab choice and quality of food and drinks. They genuinely care. Nice decor and seating. A real gem. Do visit!

We have used Dinos cafe, for the past 4 years,& I thought it was about time they had some praise.

Dimos un paseo por la costa y decidimos tener una taza de tocino butty y té. Hemos hecho esta varias veces en el arcos, pero es un corte Dino's por encima del resto que hemos probado. Productos más Pan, tocino sabroso y un buen vaso de té junto con un servicio amable y excelente. Calidad

Habíamos estado en un viaje en tren a vapor termina muy tarde el sábado anterior. Fui a recoger el perro de niñeras y decidimos ir en coche por la costa y tomar un tocino butty en el camino a casa. Elegimos Dino's - ¡Qué hallazgo! Porque ya sabíamos lo que queríamos comer pidiendo era fácil - 2 x DO/2 x tazas de té / 2 x tocino butties. La do eran buenas - no tonto pequeñas copas. Era agradable que té. e. No es 'Shamrock' (sólo 3 hojas! ! ! . Butties tocino servidos con un montón de tocino en el mejor pan comido para las edades (fresco/marido jajaja [como gruesas] delicioso). Nada era demasiado problema, incluso se ofreció a conseguir agua para el mutt recomendado y como black pudding está disponible anticipamos volver para un desayuno inglés completo en algún punto - si puedo conseguir que quieran otro bacon butty en el excelente pan

Visité Dinos por primera vez (bien mi primera) para comer con mi madre, la tía y el perro en un frío sábado.

Cayó en la otra noche aquí para una rápida cena pescado antes de un espectáculo en el pabellón acantilados. La comida era fantástica y el servicio es muy amable. Muy recomendado.

Tuvimos una cena maravillosa aquí. Servicio muy amable. Las vistas son estupendas. Volveremos seguro.

Visitamos aquí con regularidad en el verano, siempre hemos tenido un gran servicio y unas fantásticas comidas sabrosas, puedo recomendar el bacalao y patatas fritas, skate, gambas y whitebait!! Los precios son razonables, que siempre es una ventaja, una gran comida, viendo pasar el mundo, se muy ocupado así que visite pronto!! Mantener el buen trabajo DINOS!!

Visited for breakfast for the first time. Friendly staff, very generous food portions. Was very tasty and the strawberry milkshake was the best I've had in a long time! Will be visiting again soon!

After a little walk along the sea front went in for a coffee. After looking at the menu decided to order lunch. Very welcoming. Ordered fish and chips for the wife and pasta for me. Really enjoyed the meal. Would recommend highly. Will defo go back again

This cafe/restaurant is one of a parade of about 15 cafes on Southend seafront. Having sampled a number of these, I consider the food here to be the best quality of all of them and the manager/waiter, the most friendly and professional. Everything immaculate. Out of peak season, the cafe doesn't have extended hours and in fact closes pretty sharply if there are not many customers around. It is not the cheapest or most expensive of this row of seaside cafe/restaurants, but none of them break the budget.

Went there for a family lunch. Child had chicken nuggets that looked as though they had been cooked about six times and were the really cheap pulp used in huge multi packs. Partner had a breakfast and looked as though it had already been made days before and just heated up. The sausages were what you would find in a £2.99 road side grease joint.I don't usually feel impelled to write a review but seeing as this had a rating of 4.5 stars, I think I need to share my views.

Popped in for breakfast,and revisited the American breakfast....Oh dear, eggs overcooked, pancakes rubbery, bacon cremated to a crisp. Not pleasant.

Chose Dino's at random for a Friday lunch. We were warmly greeted, and our orders taken promptly. This is not your normal Something and chips restaurant, but also does Grills, Salads, Pastas and Jacked Potatoes.Our food was well presented and cooked well, and the staff were friendly and polite. Dino's is in the middle of a line of about 20 similar size cafes/restaurants, so you are spoilt for choice. I would recommend this restaurant, the only draw back being the price, which I thought was a little high, however I couldn't fault the quality.

We specially ordered a lobster salad three days in advance. The platter was spectacular. Succulent lobster accompanied by delicious leaves and tomatoes abd a buttery dressing for the mini new potatoes

We all enjoyed a leisurely brunch here. The service was exemplary and nothing was too much trouble for them. For example, two members of our group wanted to mix and match items from the different meal options. Hearty food which was well cooked and arrived hot. We will definitely return.

8 of us went for lunch there today and had a wonderful time. Steve the host was really helpful and funny and we all had a great meal. Great value for money, great location and excellent food.

Simple but tasty breakfast food - the pancakes with bacon were very enjoyable - and incredibly friendly service, including a bowl of water for our little dog.

We visited this restaurant following a visit to the nearby Cliffs Pavilion.Underneath the arches at Palmeria Parade are a number of small friendly restaurants. The staff at cafe Dino's are very friendly and helpful, the food was obviously freshly prepared and delicious and piping hot, right to the last mouthful.We enjoyed Scampi and chips and the portions were very generous. The sweets were varied and rounded the meal off well. Finally the bill surprised us with a very reasonable price. We'll be back!

I recently visited Dino's with my husband and daughter and it was ok but nothing special. The view is nice and the fish I had was very good but the chips were over cooked and my husbands food was also over cooked and dry. Friendly staff though and not expensive.

I have been going to Dino's on a Sunday for lunch for a number of years, with friends and family, and have never been disappointed. The service is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They serve the best fish and chips in the area, but we also love their Breakfasts, Lasagne and Salads. Weather permitting, it is lovely to go there on a nice summers evening and chill out with a glass of wine and a leisurely meal ~ it feels like you are on holiday, and occasionally a group will walk along the row of cafes playing guitars and an accordion which is lovely. Dino's recently re-decorated and had a new awning fitted which is great, the view is also better from this café than from most of the others as there is no general parking in front of it, only an unloading bay which is usually empty. We have tried a number of the other cafes but Dino's is our favourite!

Ive tried every cafe along the arches with my CLP,and Dino's is consistently the best for food and service. They have a new awning to protect you from the elements,and comfortable seating. My CLP ordered her usual beans on toast with tomatoes,whilst i went transatlantic with the American breakfast. All was ok,with pleasant and attentive service.

Delicious food, lovely staff and gorgeous location! Felt like I was on holiday! :) will definitely visit again! Menu had fish and chips, scampi & chips etc, jacket potatoes- good selection of drinks.Comfortable clean cafe with tables in the shade and sun.

The parade of typical seaside café's under the arches is a great place to stop for breakfast or lunch. We were hoping to try Coastal Bite as we had not eaten their before but there were no tables so we walked down a bit further and decided to try Café Dino's. We were not disappointed with great service and a good selection of dishes on the menu. An enjoyable lunch with great views over the estuary and we will come back in the future. They also take cards which is great as this saved a quick dash to the cash point.

Eaten breakfast and lunch here and both wee very good. Typical cafe type food, very much enjoyed the steak pie!

I have been here a few times now and the food is simply perfect cooked just the way we ask and the service was amazing all staff are happy to help with anything, I would recommend everyone I know. plus the prices are not bad as well way worth the money. You must go and see for yourself the cafe is brill

It was a miserable day in Westcliff and we decided to have some lunch along the sea front. The staff greeted us happily, and offered us drinks while we browsed our menus. So much to choose from and it all sounded delicious. Although it was lunch time, we decided on the number 1 breakfast choice. (2 sausage, 3 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 hash browns, fried bread and mushrooms.)(Who can resist extra bacon?!)The chef happily swapped a few items around as I didn't think I could manage it all.It was delicious. I haven't had fried bread in years and it was better than I remembered. Nice and crispy but not dripping in oil. Everything was cooked perfectly and quickly for us. I will definitely be going back as I want to try their American breakfast next, as well as the lamb stew and dumplings. I think if I want desert, I will be going there solely for them. Because after such a lovely lunch, I was still full by dinner time!

We have tried all local eateries but always end up back at Dino's. Especially for their ribs which take some beating. Lovely family-run place who are only too pleased to accommodate. My son asked if they had any chili sauce - on our next visit they had made some. Many thanks.

Firstly the coffee here is very nice but if your really fussy about it they do a lovely filter one. When ever we eat in southend we always seem to end up along this little parade, and after trying them all Dino's wins our vote, the breakfast is very nice, but the American breakfast is to die for, close your eyes and your in USA. All the food we've ever had here is cooked really nice and the staff are really friendly

If you are looking for a fantastic breakfast with excellent service and unbeatable value, then look no further the Dino's!The staff are so so friendly and always make us feel welcome! The breakfast menu has a lot of variety but they will cook you up any variation you want! Superb!

Always greeted by the lovely staff, food was very lovely and quick and the breakfasts are my absolute favourite! By far my favourite cafe to eat in!

My husband,mother in law & i went to southend for a day out and we popped in to Dino's as the mother in law wanted a good old fashion roast dinner & i must say we were not disappointed as the food was Fresh, Hot & cooked really well. The staff are so warm and pleasant. If at anytime soon we go to Southend it is for sure we will be returning to Dino's for another Great meal but next time i will be trying one of the desserts as thay looked really lush.So it just leaves me to say keep up the good work and hope to see you all at dino's soon.

I came to Westcliff and Southend for a weekend trip and was overwhelmed by all of the places to get fish and chips. I decided to just pick a place and ended up at Dino's and I was not disappointed at all. I had the fish and salad with a chocolate milkshake. The fish was wonderful, light and crispy and not overly greasy. The salad was so beautiful that I had to take a picture of it. The only reason I stopped eating was because I was so full I couldn't take another bite.

We often eat at Dino's when visiting Westcliff. The food is excellent especially the lasagne which we have with salad and chips. We ate there today and had egg, bacon, chips and grilled tomatoes it was all cooked to perfection. The staff are all very pleasant and it really is service with a smile. As people leave the waiters are immediately out cleaning the tables so that it is really clean and nice for the next people. Can't understand why someone complained as there really nothing to complain about

I really can't overemphasise just how terrible the coffee is here; please order something else . breakfast only ok - bacon incredibly undercooked but (lovely) over cooked fried bread . maybe the regular chef was on holiday as previous reviews are very positive . the chap serving was extremely pleasant but I'm afraid it did not make up for the grub. sadly we shall not return .

Visited this restaurant for my mums birthday and really enjoyed it. Service was first class and we were made to feel very welcome. I had grilled skate which was lovely and others had fish and chips which was good. One of our party had the mixed seafood which was a bit disappointing in size and selection and another had a prawn salad which was basic ie tom lettuce and tomato. Having said that their kitchen was very tiny so you couldn't really expect too much.

This is our favourite! Have never had a bad experience. Everything is beautifully cooked and well presented. Always made welcome and never leave hungry. The homemade steak pie is delicious.We visit as often as we can. Never disappointed.

We were made very welcome by the staff, nothing was too much trouble. The salad was fresh and tasty and I had it with salmon and prawns, The portion was so big I couldn't finish it, I especially loved the home made coleslaw. Excellent menu you could eat there all week and not get bored.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely fresh seafood lunch here of calamaries, chips and salad, washed down with a very pleasant glass of house rose wine. The restaurant looked bright and clean and is on the seafront (and luckily, the sun was out). The waiter was very pleasant and the service good. There is a whole row of cafe/restaurants to choose from in this location and we were glad to have chosen this one.

Richard and Rowan go out eevry week in their own boat and catch cod, etc in The Estuary. It's on the menu from next day. Tasty!

Lovely views over the sea. Good food. Good price. Good friendly service. Recommended for sure. You will not be disappointed.
