Super Chef in Southend-on-Sea

Superb breakfast. Food was hot and the plate wasn’t swimming in grease like some other places I’ve been to. Friendly staff and quick service.

Staff friendly and helpful. Food good and lots of it. Big and varied menu. Nothing is too much trouble. Inexpensive and comfortable.

very good nutella milkshakes but didn’t give me my change and i needed that to buy chicken ham so i was upset

Went here on a windy, rainy day. Very good service and friendly staff. Great value for money. The milkshakes were amazing, so was the food!! Definitely come here again, recommend to anyone who isn't wanting to spend a lot of money and is looking for some yummy food!! ❤💞

Stopped here just for coffee on a Sunday afternoon. Very welcoming and happy, chatty staff. Wasn't ready for food which was a shame s the menu was lovely. Coffee was good and although the staff were cleaning and tidying around us it was all light hearted banter and chat. Could not believe how cheap our drinks were. Have paid more for just one coffee!!! Will we be back? Oh yes we will!!!

This place ticks all the boxes , the coffee is probably one of the best I’ve had , food is very good , plentiful & good value , with very quick & efficient service all your need when your having a quick break from work , found this place last year , pop in when im working in the area Check it out people 👍

Been going to this place for a couple of years now, brilliant for a breakfast, massive portions, value for money and can't fault the food

Our usual Saturday morning breakfast restaurant closed suddenly so for a while we 'played the field' until Super Chef was recommended by friends. Wow! I'm so glad it was. Although basic, the surroundings are clean, the service is quick and friendly and the food is very well cooked and presented. The value for money is incredible and probably rates as one of the very best I've ever visited. We are paying about half the amount we used to in other restaurants. An added bonus is there is always parking in the main road. This is in an area where there are dozens of eating places (eat in or take away) but this restaurant stands out.

Looking for a place to get a drink and be able to park on day trip, we found Super Chef. We ordered two coffees and were surprised at the quality that appeared. Looking at the menu decided to try a Knickerbocker Glory, not had one for years, the wife chose a Banana Boat, when they arrived they looked good, they also tasted good. You could easily look at the place and give it a miss, organised fixed tables and chairs or benches, the menus are plastic covered cards which never inspire me. Fortunately these deflect nothing from friendliness and good service with good food. Clean and tidy with good toilet facilities.

Excellent for breakfast - we go there for a weekend treat. The fried slice is delicious or go for a bacon buttie.

WELL....just returned to shoebury after a few month away..had a few meals in southend ,why i don't know, they were OK'ish . back i went to my favourite eating place....one morning i had 1/4 pounder cheese burger .it came with salad and a stack of chips, black tea and a sweet smile.,FIVE QUID....how do they do it? next day dinner shepherds pie chips and peas..he had to walk carefully to my table 'cause there was so much on the plate one false move would have been disaster. i had to start slowly...eating from the edge of the plate until i had a safety margin and the food was in no danger of falling from the plate.... when he served it up it looked too good to eat...but ..i was hungry so i demolished it " anything else, sir, she said" jeez..not even a wafer thin mint thanks.. i hauled myself to my motor....and had to rest a while ... great food well cooked.heaps of it. great people ..great prices..

Popped in today for brunch and selected the "create your own breakfast" option. I picked all my favourites and they were cooked to perfection. My only reservation was the tinned tomatoes which were unusually sour! However, this didn't affect my breakfast overall. There was a generous portion of beans and mushrooms, two fat sausages, and two perfectly crisp rashers of bacon as well as a naughty-but-nice fried slice and an egg. Absolutely gorgeous! I loved having the option to select all my ingredients- it really gave me the freedom to build the perfect breakfast. I also had a yummy Oreo milkshake and a cup of tea. The milkshake was tasty and full of Oreo deliciousness. The tea was ok, but it was bought over with the milk already poured in, so it looked pretty anaemic and didn't have the capacity to get particularly strong. My partner had a bacon cheeseburger with chips and assured me it was delicious. I pinched a chip and found it to be fresh and crisp- perfection! We've been to Super Chef a couple of times before, but this was my first breakfast, and I'll definitely be back for more!

Well , this place aint changed. Really great food ,plenty of it Warmest of welcomes , I felt like they had missed me , The waitress asks me a bloody daft question ( which ever waitress is serving) each time I've been there.... as they collect the plates they smile and say "can i get you any thing else?"... as if ,after a breakfast that size, I'd comfortably have any room left for more . But, at last i found something to moan about (and i do like to moan).... The huge plate ....wobbled... yes a wobbly plate ....!! i cured this problem with the napkin. this aside the warm smiles as you enter the diner , the feeling of being welcome I shall return again and again... Other cafe owners should visit here to discover how its done.

My girlfriend and I use super chef as much as we can.... huge portions.... and such wonderful customer service and excellent prices for the portion size keep up the excellent work super chef!!!!!

I once worked in shoebury , back then this was a 'wimpy' and there was a cafe up the road ...the cafe went down hill..so as i am a driver i had the freedom to stop eating in shoebury...
