The Most active pub in southend city. Always something going on, karaoke, open mic nights, quizzes, jack the joker, raffles, fundraisers for charity’s like MacMillan Cancer Support. While out for your drinks n good times, why not do it in a place where you get the full pub experience and do some good while you’re at it.

Well done to Laura and her staff on the well deserved award for there efforts and fund raising so much money for Macmillan.

Came here with my boyfriend for drinks and food. We ordered the kebab with chicken strips and sides.. found out it was India who was the chef and it was lush! Amelia gave great service at the bar.. defo recommend to come here!

Brilliant as always!! Laura, polly and arch are always fantastic and are so welcoming. Great for students! Lovely nights each day there is something going and every one makes you feel welcome. Nice local pub, friendly staff loads of big TVs to watch the football get served really quick, have lots of social evenings with different events, staff make an effort to ask how you are etc - would highly recommend a visit

Super friendly staff and Laura in particular made me feel very welcome. Good selection of drinks and food. I have heard that the Sunday roast is very good so need to come in on a Sunday to check that out.

The pub has it all,land lady 100% goes out her way to make you a part of the pub,bar staff are the same,plus also the time and effort to help charities ,if only more pubs were like this.cant thank you enough.

I had a great Friday night in pub recently, there was a band playing 60's,70's,80' and although it was busy we didn't have to wait to get served. There was a mixture of ages young and old singing and dancing which made a really good atmosphere👍 All in all a really good night

Absolutely terrible service. I ordered some drinks but they didn't come. I spoke to the guy behind the bar and he was refusing to served me. He said the receipt didn't print off. I was showing him the receipt on my phone and I have paid but he was been incredibly rude and refusing to serve me. I was talking to him trying to get it sorted and he just turned around and walked off. Absolutely incredibly rude. So if you want to get ripped off and spoken to rudly, then this Is the pub for you.

Returned to the guilford, our local, after a number of years after a couple of awful visits that really put us off. Wow what a turn around, Laura and her wonderful team are doing a amazing job , they go above and beyond with helping me and my disabled husband and better still the guilford is really dog friendly. We now attend quiz evenings every week and enjoy a very affordable Sunday roast most weeks, highly recommend and thank you Laura and team for all your hard work

Great little pub, regulars all make you feel welcome, food and drink very affordable, events on weekly including quiz and live music, Laura and her team are really helpful and doing a great job, really look forward to going there, and it’s also super dog friendly

Guildford is like my second family, the staff is perfect, I can order what I want without even saying something. Food is better then in a restaurant and even when I broke a glass there was no conserns. Every one is very friendly and helpful.The manager lady is very cool and understanding, I wouldn't change nothing about this pub. 10 stars!

My family and I visit this pub quite regularly. The staff are always very friendly and go above and beyond. In fact recently, my mum was quite poorly and when the pub were informed of this, they were so thoughtful and sent her flowers and a card signed by all the staff. This was such a lovely thing to do and I don't know of many other places that would do such a kind gesture. I would definitely recommend this pub whether it be for food, drinks or entertainment, you're sure to be very welcomed and looked after I can guarantee it. 💯

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and locals, good quality beer and enjoyed a free game of pool. Even has a lemon tree on the bar!

This is a lovely pub. Everyone is extremely friendly, including the bar staff, as well as being very helpful. Food is great with very competitive prices and always well presented. Very clean and tidy throughout. They have a band or DJ every Friday and Karaoke every Wednesday and more entertainment is planned for the near future. Has a pool table, all sports channels and a beer garden. I would recommend anyone to try this pub as it caters for all ages.

Proper old school local pub. Chilled atmosphere and some great bands on most Friday nights. Def worth a visit

Went to the Guildford southend yesterday. Believe me i am a nightmare to eat out with, coz im so critical. 2nd time we have eaten here and burgers are awesome. Will definitely return. Bar staff lovely and landlady so welcoming. Do not judge this pub...

Had the build your own burger meal and it was lovely. Food arrived hot and well presented. First time eating here and I definitely will be returning. Staff are friendly and helpful. The only reason for not awarding 5 stars was service was a tad slow

Always pop in when up from Margate.. Lovely food as usual and nice and welcoming with the dog.

Never actually been inside the pub, however I feel I am still able to make a comment on the place. I live locally, and can vouch that in the summer time especially it consists of a lot of fighting and arguing.

Visiting UK and tried a gammon steak for 1st time at the Guildford. Beautifully tasty and juicy gammon with free range eggs and crunchy chips...all perfectly cooked and piping hot Absolutely delicious! Reasonable price too 🙂 Will definitely eat at this pub again.

We have been coming down The Guildford since 1992 on and off. We've moved away and come back a few times. We now live in Sheffield but come back often. We love The Guildford, it's a good traditional pub with fantastic staff. The food is fantastic (as pub grub goes) and is very good value for money. Jake, one of the bar staff is so helpful and can't do enough.

The atmosphere was good, the staff were friendly, the Guinness was good as was the food.

A review from a different perspective. My band Fake News have played at this venue twice now and we have found the crowd and the bar staff a real friendly bunch. A great crowd and a great pub!

Absolue Dive. Urine all over the toilet floor and stank, clearly hadn't been cleaned properly in a while. My beer was definitely past its best as well.

Bar staff are lovely as usual A++ Good atmosphere in the Guildford. Must say its such a shame about the karaoke not being on any more on a Wednesday , loads of people miss it, it breaks the week up it was so good with the DJ Dave. Its definitely quiter with out it, Hopefully in near future it will return : )

My family attended for Christmas Dinner, the food was absolutely delicious, the service was great. It is obviously a local community pub, and was packed.

Had a great night at the Guildford it was my birthday and karaoke night and Dave the dj is a star the pub is so friendly and the staff well they are amazing they couldn’t do enough for us all if you haven’t been there it’s a great pub to visit

Vicky served me today and as usual, she was very polite and always welcomes you with a smile. The food is good value pub food, and although it is part or a large chain and menu is the same as many others, it is always cooked well and served promptly. It's dog friendly which is great!! They have a pool table, darts and 5 fruit machines. Plus loads of free board games to play. If you want a friendly, welcoming pub you can't go wrong!

I always find this an extremely interesting place to meet other people, from all walks of life. Love the table service, the beers/lagers are really well maintained, and I must also compliment the food that is served.

Been coming here for years and bring my family here often for food. Staff are very good with my children and always feel very welcomed.

I don’t normally leave reviews but feel I had no choice after the treatment I received. The security guy (so he said he was) was rude and intimidating and made me feel very uncomfortable. Will definitely avoid this place from now on.

Went in for the first time yesterday evening, Saturday, and enjoyed a few pints with the other half. Nice atmosphere and staff were very friendly. We looked at the menu and the food looked good at very good prices indeed. We will go back and sample the fare at another time. A few vegan options on the list as well so that is nice for myself. The beers we had were a tad expensive at £5.10 a pint of premium beer but I can handle having a couple less pints to compensate.

The Guildford has such a pleasant community vibe. Everyone who frequents here is kind and friendly, as are the staff. Relaxing and welcoming atmosphere that never changes no matter the time time of day or what day of the week it is.

Came in here for drinks and a bite to eat and was really happy with how quickly my food came out and it was tasty too! The new manager Hayden was really friendly and polite, have recommended to family and friends

I came here years ago when I lived in the area and have never been back until recently, it has changed so much and definitely for the better. Staff lovely, service on point. Will be back soon to check out the entertainment for sure

Really like how the new manager is putting on entertainment. We came for 80's night, had such a blast. Looking forward to the all the bands coming up. Decent bit of food too. The place has really changed for the better!
