Visited Sunday and had a delicious Sunday Roast. I had Beef and my husband had lamb. Served with fresh vegetables and traditional Yorkshire pudding. The Chocolate cake that was served as dessert was also delicious, according to my husband! Great value and highly recommend.

I and two friends recently went to the Sunflower Bistro for afternoon tea, as a birthday present for one of the friends. The food was very fresh and presented beautifully. Sandwiches, sausage rolls, cakes and scones were bought out periodically with as much tea and coffee we could drink. There was so much food, we had to take some home as we couldn't eat it all. Our friend who's birthday it was, very much enjoyed the afternoon tea. I would throughly recommend a visit to the Bistro for afternoon tea or a lunch. The price for the afternoon tea, was very good value for money.

I booked the sunflower bistro for my baby shower and it was amazing. I had 12 adults and 2 children for afternoon tea, one of which was gluten free, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. There was plenty of tea/coffee with soft drinks and alcoholic drinks available and enough sandwiches and cakes for people to take some home. The afternoon tea set was so cute and they ordered in napkins to go with my colour scheme. I will definitely come back for breakfast/lunch and I know a few local people from my party will too. Thank you for a great afternoon and the most under priced afternoon tea we've had. 🙂

My wife and I have been coming here since they opened over 15 years ago and have never been disappointed. A bit off the beaton track 200mtrs from the high street. If you are not in any particular hurry and want terrific food and friendly service then this is the place for you. Special requests in advance can be catered for. Ideal for parties wakes etc. Just had a special preordered lunch for our wedding anniversary absolutely delicious. A mistake if you don't give it a try.

Celebration arranged for mother's 90th. We were looking for a venue for afternoon tea and The Sunflower was recommended. From first enquiry, Michelle was on the ball. The afternoon went down very well with everyone, the tea, sandwiches cakes and scones were spot on. Michelle and the others couldn't do enough to help, nothing was too much trouble, from making a special jam sandwich for a 2 year old to special sandwiches for a vegetarian. A great venue, faultless!

The Sunflower Eaterie is located within easy reach of Sainsbury's or the top-end of the High Street in central Southend, and it was a place where two eating companions and I found ourselves one lunchtime in July 2015.After being warmly greeted we sat at our chosen table, ordered drinks and went through the pretty extensive menu - 'specials' were available as well. Vegetarians are well catered for and, although not one myself as I enjoy fish and even poultry from time to time, I chose the quorn equivalent of the coronation chicken on jacket potato, served with a lovely refreshing salad and coleslaw. My two companions chose a salmon dish and a vegetable main and everyone enjoyed their meals.Friendly service, great value, a delightful little place serving good honest homestyle food. I have no hesitation in recommending the Sunflower Eaterie and look forward to my next visit in the not too distant future.

Limited metered street parking as its down a side street although not too far from Sainsbury's or the town centre, but well worth the walk if have to and you want really good food at reasonable prices. Yes you may have to wait a little while for your meal to arrive, that is because your meal is prepared while you wait and is not kept hot in or on warming pans waiting for you to arrive. The staff are very friendly in a warm welcoming atmosphere. As the sign says on the wall inside " arrive as strangers leave as friends " Reservations are taken and groups are catered for.

Sorry no chandeliers or thick piled carpets, just a simple clean and tidy establishment with a friendly atmosphere, and attentive staff. My wife and I have eaten here regularly for over five years, and rarely eat out anywhere else when in the town. The food and service has always been, and still is of an extremely high quality, there is also a licensed bar for something to accompany your meal.
