I was a little unsure about booking a table here because the latest review was 6 months previous and before that a smattering of poor reviews. However, I am glad I did book for 3 for supper on a Saturday night. The pub is well laid out and not pretentious. The menu had a very good range of food from steak to vegan, with burgers, fish, chicken, game and pasta in between. Puddings were also up to scratch. Great pint of Wherry and friendly and engaging service from staff who knew the food which was nicely presented and well cooked. At this level of price and location you will not find better. We were very happy to support a community owned pub of this quality and wish them the very best, and thank them for preserving this excellent village asset. We will return. Recommended.

Visited this cafe which on Trip advisor is still listed as Owl cafe, which is an old name for the premises. Had a latte and decaf coffee, there were sweet cake accompaniments available. The staff were very efficient pleasant and well supported and managed. The place has a light airy feel. Itâs family and disabled friendly with high chairs available. There were a good few of the patrons eating ( it was lunchtime). There is parking to the rear of the Church, outside chairs and tables, with room to leave buggies and assistance scooters within the curtilage. You can bring your own alcoholic drinks to accompany a main meal and no corkage is charged.

It was a wonderful end of term with colleagues. The drinks are fresh. We tried the wings they were spot on. We stayed in the garden. Loved . Very good.

Weâve visited Provenance a few times in the summer and it is normally a treat. We popped in for lunch this week and it was really disappointing though. Firstly the restaurant was cold. I didnât take off my coat and gloves the whole time we were there. For starter I had a pork croquette. It was a lump. The size and shape of a Greggâs sausage roll and a really peculiar texture. I only ate half of it. For main course my husband had a lamb burger. It was left on the side for ages and almost cold. The amount of cumin in the mayo made it very peculiar. Our fries were also almost cold. My main course, pork loin, was underdone in places and over in others. It came with a gravy that wasnât mentioned on the menu. I wouldnât have ordered it had I known. Overall, we wonât be rushing back. Staff apologised and took the cost of the fries off our meal (ÂŁ4). The experience still cost us ÂŁ67. Very unimpressed.

Very much our "Go To" gastropub - so much that we visit, always regarding it as a treat around once a month and travelling about 15 miles to do so. (Sometimes more often, but usually salivating all the way!) My partner and I have enjoyed your friendly, professional service, great food and drinks in a welcoming atmosphere for nearly 5 years now. Thank you, The Boot!

We stayed at the Inn over the Bank holiday weekend- Saturday to Monday. The two rooms we had were warm, clean and comfortable. Itâs very much a no-frills approach, but as you spend minimal time in the rooms itâs absolutely fine. The real treat here is the pub with its lovely restaurant. Itâs a very traditional pub that Jeremy runs and itâs all the better for that as far as we are concerned. We spent two enjoyable evenings ending in the bar chatting with our host and laughed a lot. The restaurant is a real surprise as you enter it. An enormous log fire with comfy armchairs and sofa is a terrific place to stagger to after eating Noiâs beautiful cooking. We had Thai food on one night and steaks and fish and chips the second night. We canât praise the food highly enough and so much of it! Itâs a short drive to the Park and Ride which is regular and efficient. I would absolutely recommend this stay and also stop again if in the area.
