Wasn't having a good day. Visited Birdy's and my mood changed. Extremely friendly staff, Birdy herself and another lady. My doggies were offered snacks and made welcome. There was a water bowl for them. We sat outside and listened to the boats, seagulls and general background conversation. The tables and chairs were very clean and there was just something about the whole atmosphere. I felt more able to negotiate the hustle and bustle that is Blakeney. Thank you, both.

We have enjoyed the Sunday lunch at Morston Hall twice in the last three weeks and have booked again for next month! Just sometimes you get to experience a meal that is absolute value for money. Morston Hall are now doing Sunday lunch for £50. This is a Michelin Star restaurant and they offer a three course meal for £50 - a bargain. The setting is great. You enjoy lunch in a lovely conservatory with all of the little touches that you expect such as bread and canapes. Then on to a three course lunch which is cooked to those Michelin star levels. Service is pleasant and efficient. I could go on to describe all the dishes but do yourself a favour and book it yourself! I reiterate when do you get the chance to enjoy a three course meal at a Michelin Star restaurant for £50? Well done to Galton and the team - you deserve to be fully booked every Sunday - just make sure that we can always get a table though!

A super find! Great cocktails and super food, we had the winter warmer menu which offered excellent value. Personally I loved the home cured salmon starter. All staff were super friendly and very helpful. This place has a lovely feel about it - We liked it so much we went back and had Sunday lunch, which was also excellent, lovely crispy roast potatoes & all green veg freshly cooked. We will definitely revisit next time we are in Blakeney.

As locals, we really enjoyed our visit to see the re-imagined cafe under the Norfolk Tea brand (our fave brew!). After a few ropey lunches when the cafe was open and declining in the past, we thought the revamp bright and inviting. The tea is first rate and the coffee is, in fact, made using a proper Italian coffee machine - a lovely ‘coastal’ blend as they call it. Our locally made savouries and cakes were delicious and not over-priced. We were told that further developments are planned, including the pizza nights, which we enjoyed previously. The staff seem lovely and this beautiful spot has now come back to life. We disagree with the early criticism by a few naysayers and think the new owners are on to a very good thing. Most people, after a ‘bracing’ and sometimes muddy walk on the marshes, dressed outdoor gear, simply want a good quality cuppa or coffee and a nice lunchtime snack, not a fancy meal and it’s great to see this new offering in this idyllic place. Well done and we will be back soon!

We knew we were in for a good experience as soon as we walked into The Moorings and saw/heard how much the many other customers were enjoying their evening. Service was friendly and quick, so we were soon seated with menus, olives and bread to follow. Our meals were excellent, especially Angela’s ginger pudding, and there was a good choice of wines. If you’re spending an evening in Blakeney, make yourself a booking and look forward to an excellent meal in convivial surroundings.

My porridge turned up cold, so I sent it back. It came back and it came back cold a second time. I asked for sourdough toast with my breakfast, but was told “it only comes with certain meals”. They said they could give me sourdough bread, but they didn’t bother giving me that either. The other plates of breakfast were not hot either. Overdone poached eggs. Some of the staff were not unduly friendly, or helpful.

Would highly recommend the manor. The location is great with footpaths on your doorstep. The lounge areas are beautifully decorated and it’s got a very nice calm atmosphere, perfect to relax in with a cocktail. Our room was superb, clean, quiet and comfy with views out onto the marshes. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a large choice of options at breakfast, eggs royale were great. We also had dinner, the croquettes were tender but a little bland, my fish was well cooked and tasty but my partners steak was average and his chips weren’t crispy. A few tweaks and the menu could be excellent. We would definitely return.

Be if a sunny but cold February or a sweltering summer, the hotel is perfect with its modern touches to the olde worlde charms. The restaurant staff are polite, informed and attentive without the overbearing ‘is everything alright?’ intrusion. We have had very good meals, but also the occasional hiccup with the food falling a little short. During our last visit the fish pie lacked the essential ingredient of fish and as the waiter noted on clearing the table, that looks ‘crispy’ around the edge as indeed it was. This wonderful location, and smart restaurant does itself a dis service by serving Cod and chips not on a simple plate but adding a piece of grease proof paper(?) al la fish and chips shop style. My pet hate is a plate of food served in mini pots with the expectation that one assembles the food themselves. This time was no exception, peas, tartar sauce, chips all came in little pots and the fish on the aforementioned grease paper. I simply don’t understand why such a good restaurant would want to compete with the local chippy or indeed invite comparison. Put the food on the plate and left the chef and ingredients do the talking.

We came recently for a meal around Valentine’s Day and honestly it was really special. Staff were very friendly and we got sweets to take away with us at the end of the meal. Now the food - we had three courses and while not cheap extremely enjoyable - the staff was the sharing steak which was cooked perfectly! And the sticky toffee pudding absolutely fantastic!

Lovely but disappointing. Just home from an overnight stay and really disappointed .This was a well looked forward to treat. On arrival we were shown to our room which was really nice . A few minutes later a knock at the door to say sorry furor to yell you we have a problem with the gas so no heating and a reduced menu. This would have been nice to know prior to arrival . Small heater in room but coukd not leVe it in all night as was too hot but 10 minutes after turning off room was freezing. Bathroom no heating and really cold to cold to use shower. What would have been nice was an apology and maybe offer of a,mulled wine or hot drink etc. Nothing . Was really played down no real explanation just that's, the way it is . The menu was small however we ordered the burger and chips at £18 what arrived was huge plate mostly empty with a burger and handleful of frozen French fries. I would have expected maybe handcut chips and a little garnish, tomato salad etc nothing. The plate looked ridiculous. The burger was lovely the skinny French fries oily and tasteless . The burger and the toast that i had (instead of brioche bun) was cold . We also had a diet coke each. The bill was over £48. How?? £12 for 2 cokes ?surely not . The room was lovely but either freezing cold or blow air heater hot . So sleep was not restful . Breakfast. Choice looked lovely but again the breakfast room was so cold i mentioned this to the gentleman who served us he just smiled and agreed .again played down or brushed off. The breakfast was cold poached eggs .no one likes cold poached eggs. . Plates were stone cold as well. I understand things happen and there was obviously an issue with heating but cold food and cold rooms is not acceptable in a hotel.no offer of more blankers . No apologies nothing. So sadly as much as I loved the actual hotel their response (or indeed total lack of one) has completely put me off . I paid for a room and food and both were very disappointing.

It was a very damp and showery morning and we weren’t sure if the restaurant was even open! But we tried the door and it was . The lady on the bar asked the kitchen if they were still serving breakfast (it was only 10.10am) and they were. We sat down and there was a very damp smell in the room. Which was a little off putting but We ordered full English and Vegan breakfast, both with coffee. The coffee were served piping Hot which was lovely as usually they go cold before breakfast is served. But breakfast came and coffee was still hot!. Breakfast was also really hot and delicious, good local produce and served with a smile. Deffo come back again! Serves lunches and coffee and cake too so worth drying at different times of the day.

We have visited this pub a couple of times over the last few weeks as it’s on the route of a walk from Cley up to the nature reserve. On both occasions, we only chose from the lunch light bites, which are on the back of a beer mat. On the first visit, the food was excellent. On the 2nd visit, our food was just about warm, although it was still tasty enough. We felt that it could have been served straight away, rather than sitting in the kitchen. Our other halves were pleased with the choice of ales.

This used to be a very nice traditional pub, with a good menu - what a difference a year makes! Bar moved, decorated in dull blue colour making the place look drab & uninviting. Barely anything on the menu bar fish & chips! Only 4 other diners in the place & like us were driven out due to thumping drum & bass music --- is that necessary at lunchtime?!? Won't be going back anytime soon.
