We had dinner last night at The Moorings and it was absolutely delicious! We both had the cuttlefish to start, followed by sea bass and monkfish and my husband had the ginger cake with toffee sauce. All excellent. The service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be returning!

Accommodated our party of 2 towards the end of the evening and we were very grateful they did. Service and food was spot on. The fish was delicate and its accompaniments perfectly simple but thoughtful. A lovely little restaurant, even down to the background music, and very reasonably priced. Go, especially if you're in the mood for something light and fresh.

Once again The Moorings over delivers in all ways Outside it’s pretty plain visually and you would not even think it’s one of the best restaurants in the U.K. Inside it’s simple with unfussy tables and cutlery Then the experience begins as the front of house staff are so relaxed and delightful The menu reads as interesting and the quality presentation and flavours are outstanding from the kitchen as its family run and owned and they all know how to cook top quality ingredients and serve them with simple beauty on a plate Better to book as it’s not always easy to get a table but trust us - it’s worth it if you love great food beautifully prepared and served by a family team who care We simply love it. Very popular, so therefore full and very noisy. Firstly, there are no cocktails or cocktails. I was really looking forward to my pork belly, which just fell apart, and most of the crackling was crispy. However, the accompaniment was too salty, and I had to push it aside as it spoilt it. The waitress apologised and said she would inform the chef. Nduja and prune and onion seemed to be the salty culprit, but it wasn't fiery as nduja is supposed to be. The dauphinouis potatoes were absolutely delicious, perfect. Dessert, brûlée Lemon Tart was enjoyable, too. My husband was happy with his fish mains and crumble & custard.

I had the crab starter, and sea bream for main. Fabulously well cooked. I asked advice fe. what wine to have with the bream and a choice was suggested that complimented the food perfectly. My partner had the steak, similarly fabulously well cooked, and similarly obtained excellent advice on what wine to have with it. We'll be back

The guide ratings and accolades are stuck on the door of this unfussy 50 cover restaurant in the middle of the beautiful village of Blakeney and the simple decor supports the wooden tables and chairs - perfect. Mainly seafood but there are other dishes. The service in this family run restaurant is efficient , competent and friendly. We sat down at 6.30pm and it was about full by 7pm- I suspect about 80 covers filled that Tuesday evening. The locals and discerning holidaymakers know this place. The crab and smoked mackerel starters delicious. Our Halibut and Sea Bream mains with sublime sauces cooked to perfection, the brown bread to eat / mop up your sauce so tasty. A nice wine list at reasonable prices. Oh and guess what either Ginger sponge with vanilla ice cream and cream or Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream and cream plus other desserts to finish- heaven. In this lovely seaside village, what more do you want ? London Michelin star restaurants eat your heart out, if only I could eat here every week! Mike D Sevenoaks Kent

Of its type this is an excellent restaurant. A relaxed atmosphere, made better by an excellent, friendly and knowledgeable front of house team all in an informal dinning environment. As with everything of quality in north Norfolk these days prices are not cheap, but we genuinely felt we got superb value for money given the quality of the dishes and their ingredients. Other similar quality establishments in the area are perhaps more expensive (certainly their wine mark ups are) without delivering the quality we found here. The menu has both meat and fish options as well an alternative should you be vegetarian. The fish we had was fresh, cooked to perfection and tasted superb. A good range of pudding are offered too, and these appear on a blackboard. Would highly recommend

We had booked here for our wedding anniversary dinner on the basis of reviews that we had read and we were not disappointed. The food was great - my wife loves fish and had the sea trout which she said was cooked to absolute perfection, the best that she had tasted for some time. Two lovely course each, a tasty bottle of wine and we were pleased as Punch. The restaurant isn't large and is very popular so is fairly hectic. Despite this the service is slick and professional whilst also remaining friendly and personal. Thoroughly recommended.

This restaurant gets lots of rave reviews, but after 2 meals here - one this year and one last - I'm not really sure why. The starters were very good. The service was efficient and friendly, despite the place being full. The side dishes with the main courses were good, but the mains themselves were disappointing, especially for the price paid. The spicy cod had no spice whatsoever. It was a nice piece of fish, beautifully cooked and moist, but where was the promised flavour? Similarly the halibut, which bizzarely came as one and a half fillets. What happened to the other half? Final straw: the restaurant was unpleasantly hot. In short, we won't be back.

This is a fantastic little restaurant with, perhaps, two or three too many tables for the space. But, had it not have been so, maybe we not have been lucky enough to experience the excellent food. We are two fairly sizeable adults (without being obese!) and we were offered a cramped table for two near to their bar and serving area. Just wouldn’t have worked. But, we were kindly offered a larger table in the middle row without any fuss. Sadly, one young male waiter, clearly oblivious to his clumsiness, either kicked my chair or knocked it as he walked past. Several times. Whilst the other young lady did walk the longer way around to get to the table behind me. All this caused us to reposition the whole table and chairs THREE times. Yeah, shoulda said something, but I’m British and didn’t. They’ll know now :-). The food and wine were faultless - which is what it’s all about really! Would have been five stars had it not been for clodhopper. :-).

Really good food and a lovely location - but spoilt by 2 things. Chicken dish was good until I saw pink undercooked bits. The waiter said the chef thinks that fine .. I didn't. And the bill (c£100) was just handwritten on a piece of paper - not itemised and impossible to know if it was correct. I can't think of the last time I saw such an old-fashioned way to present a bill. Presumably they work on the principle about buying a Rolls Royce ... The mix of flavours in the butternut squash, shawarma spice, muhammara, grilled spring onions and dukkah with was perfectly balanced. Had a great time at this restaurant. The staff were friendly, quick and accommodating, and they talked us through the menu which they knew very well. We all picked the right choices and despite everything on the table being delicious, nobody ended up envious of anyone else's dish. A testament to the quality of the whole menu, as well as the attentiveness of the staff. All the dishes that arrived at the table were very tasty (we had three courses) and the portions were large. My highlight was the fish soup, which was phenomenal, and the potato side which we're still trying to work out how they made so delicious! Would recommend this restaurant to anyone, but it suited us particularly well, the food was a good mix of fancy and hearty, in a relaxed setting with a nice buzz. My goodness, what a find! We had got caught out without a dinner reservation (you should probably book something for Saturday night in Blakeney 🙈) but these guys managed to squeeze us in for one course. It's an unpretentious restaurant, quite buzzy with friendly staff. Bread and olives to start with are good. There's a reasonable wine list and a few lagers and local ales available. We both had fish main courses - mine was the halibut (pictured) - and both were excellent, beautifully cooked with subtle flavours. They come with side veg. It's not cheap but I don't mind paying a bit more for genuinely better food. Not a great place for wheelchair users - there are steps up to the front door , the tables are quite close together and the toilets have lots of doors. The toilets were clean.

A fantastic lunch with our grand son and our great grandchildren. The food and service were superb and reasonably priced on a very cold day. My great grandchildren were well looked after with chocolate treats. The brusetta was huge and amazing. You will not be...

Set in the picturesque village of Blakeney where you can enjoy a walk before or after dinner, The Moorings has a simple yet pleasant decor where the team work hard to prepare fresh (mainly) fish dishes without a chip in sight. As with all fresh food restaurants the menu isn't over-long but provides plenty of choice. On the evening that we visited they were full and perhaps a little overworked as the wait was a tiny bit longer than you might expect but it was worth the wait. And they're busy for a reason. The desserts weren't quite up to the rest of the menu (sorry Angela) but our group thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would happily return.

Bright and welcoming place with perfectly cooked fresh fish and generous sides. The dessert menu looked fab, but we were too full to try them.

A very pleasant place to eat and the service was good. Everything was tasty and well presented - but the bill was a shock.

Outstanding restaurant, very good ingredients seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bream with fennel gratin, beans and dauphinoise potatoes was so SO good. The treacle sponge with custard just light and heavenly. Absolutely first class. Thank you!!

A really interesting low circular building overlooking a wetland habitat, owned and run by the Holkam Estate. There's a large covered but open area with tables and chairs and a smaller enclosed café serving good filter coffee and a range of prepared on site light bites sandwiches, pasties and cakes. Not cheap but good quality. The rush and reed drinking water fountain in the middle is a functional masterpiece. The information boards are very helpful outlining what can be seen and why. The big carpark is a couple of minutes away and the beach is perhaps 10 minutes off.

I can honestly say, this was the best cooked breakfast I've had in ages! In addition, my bedroom was spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable. Thank you Tim and team.
