Bluebell Pub in North Norfolk

Always great homemade food. We often book a table for us and our two German shepherds.

Great family run bar, food was tasty with good portions with a great friendly atmosphere and very nice staff/ landlord. Highly recommend a visit. A big thank you for making are evening a wonderful experience, Many thanks, Paul and Michelle

We arrived here by chance after a long journey, looking for an evening meal. We were greeted with the friendliest of receptions from the staff and customers alike. We thought the food was excellent, obviously home-cooked and well served. Top marks and thanks to the staff!

To be perfectly honest! Everything was fine. But not enough staff. Had to wait to be served at the bar! Had to fight way out to get to bar. So it was ok, but could have been better.

A very warm friendly welcome from the barman! Who proceeded to touch my heart by his utter kindness and empathy to a regular customer in need of support. Food, the homemade steak pie was superb. Will definitely visit again. 😘

Great local,friendly bar staff,always a good buzz and food is tasty,especially the home made pie. Looking forward to winter with the fire roaring.

We had the steak pie with mash potatoes, veg and gravey. The food was pipping hot and it was a proper pie with the meat inside a full pastry not just on the top.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent too. Can't vouch for the beer on this occasion as I was driving. But my wife said the beer was good..

Found this pub after a mile walk from out airbnb, lovely welcome, nice selection of booze, nice spacious back garden. Didn't have any food as when we asked what time the kichen closed they said it had just closed and not open again till 5pm. Mabe we didn't see the sign!, but would go back as this is just a lovely place.

We stayed in a lodge opposite the pub but went in and had a meal .the food was out of this world very hot and very tasty all the veg is grown in the garden.then played pool

Very warm welcome, friendly staff, good food, I had the turkey, which was really lovely, smaller plate which was just right for me. Lovely fresh veg. Plenty of on site parking and a lovely garden to sit in to eat If the weather allows

Staff are friendly but unfortunately the chicken kebab was reheated in microwave instead of on grill. This made the chicken rubbery and tastless.

Nice little pub but asked for the menu at 2.30 then got told the kitchen was shut at 3 so that info might of been appreciated But overall ok

Nice friendly pub and we could take our dog into the bar area which was nice. Not a huge choice on the menu but I find that's a good thing, it's easier to choose something to eat and makes life easier for the cook. I had the steak pud off the specials board which was lovely.

Delightful pub and restaurant, good, hearty food in their lovely garden. Great service at the bar and from the catering staff... Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Nice country pub on the outskirts of town They were very accommodating friendly staff only had ploughmans but shall go back to have something off the main menu in the near future They also have a good selection of ales

Popped in today for a lunchtime drink. The staff were welcoming and friendly. A nice jolly atmosphere was apparent from the moment we entered. The garden is amazing, really neat and tidy. I'll drink here again hopefully!

Was taken here for lunch as a thank you for a favour. Had scampi in a basket, very retro. Even had proper chips. Very nice

Sea Bass was well overcooked as were the mushroom starter, I had trouble inserting my fork in the mushrooms, and I was frightened they might fly off the plate.

Out for a drive and saw the car park was busy, always a good sign! Lovely people behind the bar, everyone very friendly. The menu wasn’t extensive ( lunchtime) but most could find something they would eat on it. We had cheese and bacon burger with chips And a ploughman’s. The food was really good and tasty. We were both impressed by the quality of it for the price. The rolls had that homemade taste and feel to them and tasted glorious. This is a no frills good nostalgic pub with a very homely feel. we will visit again.

If you want a homely, friendly place to have a drink you can't go wrong with the bluebell. If you want something to eat try somewhere else the food is ok but the prices are pretty high considering what you are served

Not the best Person to do a pub review as I very rarely use pubs. Today I was there attending a wake, the place seemed ok but I can't judge food or service as I only had a glass of cola.

Lovely atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff. We came for a meal after a small family wedding, and everyone was chatty and happy. The food was great, and the garden was lively to sit and have a drink in. Will be coming again when I'm in the area

Haven't been in the Bluebell for 7 years and was glad to see they still serve the most delicious food, large portions I may add and have the same cosy atmosphere. Staff are all lovely and can't do enough for you.

Called in for some food with the family as we knew this place was always good when we lived closer. Nothing has changed, a very warm welcome, the landlord is a really nice fella, the waitress was very polite and helpful when we were ordering our kids wanted a couple of little changes to the menu and that was no problem at all. The food arrived and it's was as we remembered from before very tasty, good portions well presented and reasonably priced considering the recent hikes in ingredients etc. The beer was spot on, the kids had games to play, they wanted to explore the beer garden so the landlord said no problem I will get all the garden lights on... Nothing was too much trouble. It's a shame we live over in Norwich now but if passing we will definitely visit again and support this great hidden gem of a pub.

We were recommended this place so we called in on our way home from our holiday. It is a really nice pub in a country location on the outskirts of North Walsham. On arrival we were treated like returning locals with a friendly welcome. We were allowed to choose where we wanted to sit (I would imagine that this wouldn't be an option all the time as it got very busy, very quickly). There is a good, varied menu with all the pub favourites, light bites, mains etc. I went for the steak pie, new potatoes and seasonal vegetables with gravy. My wife had the fish finger sandwich with chips and coleslaw. Both meals were beautiful but I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that the steak pie was one of the best I've ever had. The cost was very reasonable, the staff are friendly and attentive and we left on first name terms. We will be back the next time we are back in Norfolk.

Lovely staff, really friendly! Food was amazing, very prompt, elegantly put together and tasted fantastic! Outdoor seating is available in the sun and shade, dog friendly outside.

Bernie and the team made us feel extremely welcome from the second we went through the front door. Fabulous pub with excellent Sunday Roasts. Would absolutely recommend.

On the outskirts of North Walsham this pub/restaurant has ample parking and a large, partly covered garden. The large single bar leads on to a separate restaurant. Local real ales were available. We ate in the restaurant, the food was good and the portions large. My steak pie was served with a choice of either chips and peas or seasonal vegetables. The house Malbec was particularly impressive and went well with the pie.

Nice beer for a extremely hot summer afternoon after a trip to the beach.

Spent a couple of hours sat in the very pleasant beer garden. Pub has a good range of craft beers and although we didn't eat there, the food looked very appetising and portion size was good. Bar staff were very pleasant and friendly. Well worth a visit to this pub where the town and countryside meet.

The pub was very busy and it took some time to be served. This was not helped by the 'locals' hogging the bar and refusing to move so that we could get a drink. We did not feel welcome at all. Food, average but hot and plentiful.

Amazing food, cheap pint and staff that make you feel like your at home.

Landlord 'Dave' . Nothing was too much trouble. The kitchen was unfortunately closed the evening we went in, but Dave suggested getting a takeaway to be delivered to the pub and take back to the lodge where we were staying. We ended up ordering from The Poachers PH via the Just Eat app, and had it delivered to The Bluebell. If it's Chinese food that you fancy, Dave had the name of one to offer us. Whilst we were waiting for the food delivery, we had a few drinks. The food arrived and Dave kept it warm wrapping it in foil for us and putting it into a large bag u til we were ready to leave. A rugby match, and a pint or two each later, we took our bag of food over to the lodge we were staying. Dave and the locals offered a really warm welcome. I'd recommend The Bluebell to anyone staying in the vicinity to make good use of this homely, local pub/restaurant. Two TVs either side of the bar played the rugby and afterwards, some music. The decor is cosy with a sectioned off restaurant area. Brass ornaments adorned the fireplace with soft lighting inside the fireplace making them a focal point. I'd put money on each of those pieces having a story of its own to tell. Talking of money, the prices were very reasonable. There are a couple of games machines if you want to try your luck at a general knowledge quiz. Thanks The Bluebell. I'm sure we'll be back in the future.

Came here for a meal while staying in North Walsham. Staff were friendly and gave great service. We had lamb shank and a burger, portions were generous, it all arrived hot and was delicious. We'll definitely visit again if we're in the area.

Welcoming but beer a bit too cold, Sunday lunch below average

Well I am from March and just i am here in this pub with some of my family. .we are having a birthday drink as I am now 64 and this is the best pub around here..all ways come here for a drink..fantastic staff and they all ways make you welcome. .

Lovely staff, lovely hot Sunday lunch, to large for Ms even had a child roast. Good value. May seem silly to some but to have immaculate and filled salt and pepper set seems a rare find these days apart from here, lovely thank you. Just one point I'd like to mention is that the ladies really need some TLC and an update, poor spider plant very dry too. Definitely will return soon. Booking advisable. Linda and Martin

Had a friendly warm welcome. Quickly shown to our table where the friendly service continued. First time out for Sunday lunch this year and I was looking forward to a great pub lunch. The Bluebell did not disappoint. Good value for money.

Was staying at Alder Country Park with my husband and parents we booked a table for Friday the food was fantastic the staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful the pub itself was very clean we went back on the Sunday as walk in guests and they got us a table we had the roast and oh my god it was lovely great home made food I highly recommend eating here if ever I’m here again I will definitely be back for a lovely meal Thank you to all at The Bluebell !!!! Came here for our evening meal as we were staying at the Alder Country Park just across the road. I called to see if they had availability and luckily they did. I had the cheese burger and chips and my partner had gammon, egg and chips and finished off with a lemon meringue pie and cream. Really good portion sizes and nice home cooked pub food! Lovely pub, welcoming and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone.
