Shannon was fantastic tonight, nothing was ever too much and she was so accommodating. Always a big smile on her face and a joy to be around. Amazing service from her as always!

I have visited this pub at all times of day and night. Usually I’m on my own, but have never felt uncomfortable, despite being a lone female. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I’ve yet to have a bad meal. Tonight I had battered prawns from the small bites menu and a side salad. The batter the prawns were in was to die for. So crispy and crunchy with really tasty prawns inside. If you’re not a big eater this was a perfect meal and was not expensive at all. I would definitely recommend this pub.

So disappointed with the portion size - the peas are now cheap, nasty and tasteless . The chicken is still delicious but again portions so so small . Very disappointing.

Although it appears somewhat dilapidated from the outside, there were several cars parked outside, leading us to believe it might be nice. We couldn't really object because it was booked by a family member. Since neither my partner nor I eat meat, the menu only offered standard pub fare and had very few options for us. He had a vegetable curry, and I had a nut roast. He cannot have gluten, thus it was the only option that was safe. I could only think, "Wow what the chuff is this slop," when the food first arrived. My nut roast clearly consisted of frozen mashed vegetables, a packet of peanuts, and a side of more frozen veg and gravy that most definitely wasn’t vegan. My other half’s curry was basically the same as mine but with some curry powder. We couldn’t eat it at all and at £14 pounds each it was truly diabolical and what I saw from the other members of the party I’d have gone and caused a scene but I just wanted to leave and never return. The service is basic and the toilets filthy.

Had large breakfast. Not the best I've ever had but certainly not the worst.....and for the price you pay it definitely sets you up for the day

Stopped to charge the car, and popped in for a drink and snack while we waited. Left after only using the toilet. Horrible experience wouldn't have used but I was desperate. Glad my husband had not yet ordered anything as hygiene is clearly not a priority, noted some unclean tables on way out. Not as if they were that busy. Come on ....wake up, you can do better

In a lovely location on the Shotley Peninsula overlooking the River Stour. Nice to sit outside a have a drink. The food is hit & miss - sometimes very good & at other times very bad. The interior is rough & unloved & not very welcoming - it could be so much better with some money spent on updating the decor & furnishings. I found the toilets very clean.

A little longer wait than expected but the breakfast was great. Wish you had a little more choice of milk for the cuppa. Food was tasty and I loved the toast, eggs cooked well and so much better than self serve where they can be rubbery. Polite staff and I liked the hot drink refill. I don’t think anyone goes to a supermarket cafe for the ambiance but it is cheerful enough.

Every time we go here they keep putting battered sausages in the order when we haven’t asked for them! Mum went and requested sausage and chips amongst other orders, got home and it was battered not normal. I went and requested 2 sausages and chips , thankfully noticed they were putting battered ones in the wrapping as I was stood at the counter. Said ‘no, I want and asked for sausage and chips not battered sausage’ the reply was ‘you didn’t ask for UNBATTERED!’ ?????? I don’t have to, I asked for sausage not battered sausage. If I wanted a battered sausage I’d have said battered sausage. Son went last week and I specifically said to him to ask for UNBATTERED sausage as I know what they are like. Guess what, he walks home and yes I open my orde to find a blooming battered sausage:( Why they are obsessed with battered sausages is anyones guess, but I’m writing the order down next time and handing it to them on a piece of paper in the hope they can get it right.
